Celestia bid the last of her guards good night as she headed for her chambers. She made her way to the balcony and lowered the sun, while across from her on another tower, Luna was raising the moon. When the task was done, they bid each other good night before returning to their chambers.
Celestia let out a sigh before a wicked smile may it's way onto her. “Finally. Now I can get down to business.” She went over to her bookshelf and pulled a book, activating a lever and causing the shelf to swing open, revealing a secret room. As she walked in, she smirked at the occupant chained in the middle of the room. “And how are we today?”
Chained in the middle of the room, the queen of the Changelings was seen bolted to the floor with chains and iron staples embedded in the floor. An iron ring was wrapped around her horn, preventing her from using magic or her power to shapeshift.
“As well as the last time you checked up on me. Now are you going to tell me what you have planned, or are you taunting me for all eternity as my punishment?” Chrysalis asked spiteful.
“No, of course not.” Celestia floated over a large pillow in front of the Changeling queen and sat in front of her. “You’re my scapegoat for my vacation plans.”
“Vacation plans? What exactly does that mean?” Chrysalis asked out of annoyance.
“Simple really. I’ve been running this country for nearly over a thousand years. Quite frankly, I’m just tired of everypony’s shit.” Chrysalis was shocked to hear the Princess curse, let alone the subject matter. “So, I figure since I have you here, a known enemy of the kingdom and a shapeshifter to hoof, I can do whatever depraved and illegal thing that pops into my head. And when I’ve had my fun, I’ll simply blame you and they’ll believe it like the mindless sheep they are.”
“I’d say that you’re insane, but that was actually a good sounding plan.” Chrysalis couldn’t help but crack a mocking smile at the psychotic princess. “Color me both impressed and surprised. Didn’t take you for a complete psychopath under that motherly smile you always flaunt wherever you go. I wish I was that diligent during your niece’s wedding,” Chrysalis admired the plan.
“Why, thank you. And of course it’s a good plan. Now, if you’ll excuse me. I have a-” Celestia began, only for the sound of glass breaking interrupted her. “What was that?!”
Celestia went to investigate the noise and saw that her window was broken in. The hole was small, so she figured a somepony must’ve thrown a rock through her window.
“Rrrr! When I find out who did this, I’ll butcher them and feed their carcass to some orphans!” Just then, she heard the sound of wings fluttering behind her.
She turned to find nothing behind her. She heard another flutter to her right and looked to find nothing again. For the next few minutes, Celestia played cat and mouse with whatever was in her chambers, and with each passing second, her anger grew.
“That’s it!” Celestia used her magic to push all her furniture to the far wall, destroying many of them in the process. “Alright! Show yourself!”
Chirp!
Celestia turned her back to see a peculiar sight. It was no bigger than a small bird, gray in color, and eyes as black as a shark.
Celestia sneered at the creature with disdain. “So, you’re the little shit that broke my window?” The creature tilted its head at her. “Well, I always did want to crush something just for the fun of it.” She went over to the little creature and raised her hoof. “Hope you make a fun noise”
Before she could stomp on the thing, it zipped into the air and landed on the dresser mirror. It then made a mad chattering noise before flying right for the base of her horn. “What are you doing! Get off of me!” The little monster didn't answer, instead, it just gnawed at her horn, sounding like a drill as it did. “Oww! Get off of me!”
The little bug-like creature didn’t listen. It just kept gnawing at the base of her horn. As the princess bucked and threw her head wildly around, trying to get the evil sprite off, the little bastard was able to gnaw half way through her horn. Having had enough, Celestia fought through the pain of using magic with a busted horn and blasted the creature off her. The little parasite hit the wall and was badly burnt. Before it could give Celestia the satisfaction of its death, it made a shrill scream before laying on the floor, dead.
Before Celestia could make a snide remark or seek medical attention, a buzzing sound could be heard outside her window. Just as she went to investigate, a swarm of the bite-size monsters came crashing through her window and into her room.
“Little bastards! Away with you!” She went to use her magic to fry the swarm altogether, but every attempt ended in failure. “What’s the meaning of this?!” She looked over to her mirror and saw a horrible sight. Her horn had been made into a splintered mess. “Oh no…”
The pint-size monsters seemed to sense her predicament, and began chattering louder before swarming the sun monarch. For the next half hour, all that came out of the princess’s room were blood curdling screams, and the sound of eating.
The Next Morning
Princess Luna and the royal guard were using powerful fire spells to clear the room of the mutated parasprites. At least according to the ex-head of the science department who confessed to when they escaped. His trial would be in a week.
The only reason Luna and the guards knew about the mutated bugs was because Celestia wasn’t up to raise the sun as she does every morning. When Luna came to investigate, she found her sister’s room swarmed with the flying monsters.
“Guards. Spread out and check for any signs of our sister. It’s urgent we find her at once,” Luna commanded.
“At once, your highness,” the guards saluted. Luna and the other guards attention was brought over to the lone guard, standing next to a puddle of pinkish red mush. In the mush, was a gold tiara, a gold breastplate, and four golden horseshoes.
“I’ve…found her…”
