Well, This Is Unexpected

I gave a tired yawn and stretched out on the couch in Lightnings living room, idly watching COPS on her TV.

I was unfortunately always the first up. No matter where I am, I’m always up when the sun comes up. Even back in Equestria because of Mom wanting me to witness her raising the sun. Seven year old me had been mind blown when she first did it.

I mean, who wouldn’t be? It’s one thing to hear about her being able to. It’s another to see it happen in person. Or pony would be more accurate. Whatever, minor details.

My eyes flicked over to the hallway as the other two girls stumbled into the living room, Lightning rubbing at her eyes with a yawn.

“Ugh. Seven am,” Indigo groaned as she made her way into the kitchen. “Is someone running or something?”

“Nah, drug bust,” I answered and looked at the TV, watching several bags of a white powder stacked in the trunk of a police sun. “I have to get going soon. Gotta change and shower.”

I should really prepare better. For whatever this was. Sleepover, I guess is the term? I never really did this as a kid. Or younger kid I suppose I should say. I’m still technically a kid.

“We gotta get to CPA for class. Enjoy your day off work,” Lightning told me and glanced at Indigo. “Well, she has to get to school. I have work.”

I should be at school but it was a Friday. I was supposed to meet Rainbow and the soccer team for coffee later today. Fuck, I almost forgot about that. I said my goodbyes, hugging Indigo and high fiving Lightning before slipping outside.

I should probably find that episode I was watching when I get home. But right now, my shower was calling my name. I planned on at least a hour long shower today or a bath. At least my apartment was a fifteen minute walk away or so.

I jumped slightly as a police siren went off a few times next to me and a crown vic slowed to a stop next to me and I froze as the passenger door popped open. The words to protect and serve were proudly emblazoned on the driver side doors cursive with dial nine one one on the back fenders.

“Uh what?” I muttered and stared before looking around at the empty street as the tan cop stared at me.

“Get in,” he said and I raised an eyebrow. We may not have cars in Equestria obviously, but I knew to not get in strangers cars, even if it was marked squad car.

“Hell no. I haven’t done anything wrong,” I scowled and I didn’t have time to react as a cable shot out to wrap around my waist and yanked me inside the passenger seat, the door slamming shut behind me and the car took off down the street. “Hey! Let me out!”

I started hitting the window as the car turned onto a street of people and the sirens turned on with the lights.

I yelped as my seat reclined all the way back and my seat belt was put on.

“Safety first,” the cop said and I quickly realized the voice wasn’t coming from him. Sounded like it was coming from radio or something.

I resigned my fate as the cop car drifted into a parking garage near my apartment complex and started driving to the upper floor. Well, this is a fascinating story to tell people I suppose. I got kidnapped by a cop car by a wire or some bullshit and my seatbelt put itself on. Weird world.

We stopped on the top floor and the door opened, my seat belt unclipping as I rolled onto the ground softly and I groaned quietly to myself.

I’ll never forget what happened next as long as I live.

The cop car stood up. The lights and sirens shut off as I watched in fear. The back of the car became legs as I scooted backwards slowly. The tires on the legs slowed to a stop and locked in place as two arms formed with two gold triangles on the shoulders and a black hand grabbed the edge of the concrete.

The entire front of the car became the chest as the light bar split in half, ending up on the back of the robot. The spotlights rotated into the chest of the robot and the back doors folded down into the back, the two front doors popping out the back like wings. Two missiles formed on his back, pointing up and over his shoulders.

“What the...?” I mumbled as a head popped out of the chest. The head exterior was a black coloring matching the hands and shoulders with a red crest on the forehead. The face I guess was a silver color and the eyes glowed a bright blue.

The thing in front of me made a groaning sound as the front tires disappeared under his chest into the inner workings of the car and it stood up.

“This is so a dream,” I told myself as it knelt down in front of me. It was easily the same cop car from yesterday. I pinched myself to wake up and I quickly realized this wasn’t a dream.

So naturally, I did the only thing that made sense. I screamed.

Loudly.

“Stop that infernal noise!” The robot grabbed it’s head and winced. I never knew a robot could be so expressive. “Now!” I inhaled and took a deep breath as he lowered his hands. “Good, thank Primus.”

“What are you?” I managed to ask and he shrugged.

“An Autobot, obviously? My name is Prowl. And you are?” Prowl asked and rested his hand on the ground. “I’m one of the good guys. You don’t have to be afraid of me.”

Oh, that’s reassuring. I wonder if he tells that to every human he kidnaps.

“Uhm Sunset. Sunset Shimmer.”

“That’s out of the way at least,” Prowl remarked and extended a finger. I hesitantly shook it.

This is so fucking weird. Even that demon voice in the back of my head doesn’t have anything to say, surprisingly. That’s a fucking first.

“I need your help. More precisely, I need you to get me something from your friend,” Prowl folded his arms across his chest. “Or mate. Whatever she is to you.”

What?

“I’m sorry, run that by me again? How about we talk about the fact you kidnapped me!?” I shouted and he flinched.

“Yeah well, you refused to get in so. I don’t have time for a million questions,” Prowl rolled his eyes or whatever robots call them.

“At least a few. What was with that whole standing up thing?” I waved a hand around in the air.

“Transforming,” Prowl answered. “All of us can do it.”

“There’s more of you?” I gave him a stunned look and he frowned slightly.

“Not just like me. Well, there’s more Autobots, of course. I need these glasses. Your partner, Bon Bon has them. I need you to get them or have her give them to Bee at least,” Prowl remarked and I raised an eyebrow.

“What?”

“By the Matrix,” Prowl slammed his hand against his head. “Glasses, map, end of your world as you know it. This is so much bigger than you can ever imagine. You have to help me get these glasses before the Decepticons get them from her and believe, they’re not as nice as we Autobots are.”

“She’s not my- what the hell is a Decepticon?” I demanded and stood up.

“Pray to the Allspark you never meet one. Do you know where we can find your friend at?” Prowl asked and I licked my lips.

“School. But we can’t go there. I can’t just show up in a cop car,” I told him and he rested a hand on a car.

“We have no choice,” Prowl answered and I watched in awe as he transformed back into his car mode and his driver side doors popped open. “In you go.”

I hesitated and he hit the siren.

“How can I trust you?” I asked finally and I took a step.

“If I truly wanted to hurt you, you’d be injured by now. Autobots don’t harm humans. We don’t have time for this. You had to have heard about one of your airbases in the Middle East being obliterated,” Prowl spoke and I nodded slowly. It had been all the talk at school and on TV. Apparently there was no survivors, sadly. “That’s just a small sample what the Decepticons are capable of. If they get the Allspark, they will weaponize your entire planet.”

“Equestria could fall too,” I whispered to myself and clenched a fist. And naturally, that would be my fault. That can’t happen.

I inhaled and jumped inside Prowl’s driver seat, slamming the door shut as he took off with his sirens on.
