A Bronies Adventures in Equestria

Story written, edited, created by: Sciencejim1

My name is James Hazdra and I am a brony. It has been my life long dream to have an opportunity like this, but I never thought it possible. Who would have thought, me, a lonely, eighteen year old, overweight, half mental pacifist would ever be able to visit Equestria? Certainly not me, but if it weren't for those assholes on the street that picked up and hurled the neighbors newspaper at my head, I would have never seen the add. The add that stated that they were looking for human test subjects between the age of twelve and twenty-seven who specifically had a fascination for the show named "My Little Pony".

It was as if my mind had split in two in excitement. What should I do? Should I ignore this call to action like my mind says to? Or should I go against my better judgement and let the truly loyal brony out?

It is kind of obvious on what option I chose, isn't it?

So, with nothing else to do after school, I head straight to the laboratory. Didn't look anything special from the outside, could have easily mistook it for a law office. So I walk in and the first thing I see is dozens of employees running around with papers, clipboards, and pieces and parts of machine parts I couldn't have dreamed of. After about five minutes of trying to gain attention from somebody, a balding, old man with large spectacles comes towards me and addresses me.

"Are you here for the add? You certainly look the part." He says.

I simply nod, "What exactly is expected of me here? What am I suppose to do? And what exactly does any of it have to do with ponies?"

"Well," he began "what we do here is look into different parts of this and other worlds. And so far, we have yet to find anything...until now that is."

Why he felt the dramatic spaces were necessary I do not know, but I humored him regardless.

"So we discovered a world not far from our solar system, but some how it has gone unnoticed. Almost as if it had just appeared into space. We looked further into this and found that this planet not only honed suitable conditions for life but actually found life forms on the planet. Strangely enough, these life forms represented many of the mammals on our planet, we notice similar traits as to horses, rabbits, birds varying sizes, and other organisms that we couldn't even recognize."

"So you traced the animals from which you saw and slowly noticed wings and horns and either you studied this and found on the internet that there was a show that had all of these animals fit the description of the animals found on the planet along with the geography of the planet, or either you or one of your co-workers are as well a brony and noticed the similarities between the show and the planet?" I questioned.

"Erm...yes, yes exactly. So, before we have even discovered this marvel, we designed a way to send someones mind, in a way, past the boundaries of Earth. It is a machine we have not tested yet but it seems to be built correctly. If you would be willing, we could not only use you to test the machine, but as well as send the first brony into Equestria."

My mouth hung loosely. I had no idea how to respond, this was after all a bronies dream to be sent to Equestria. But to leave everything behind in doing so? When will I come back? Will I actually come back? Will I be able to interact with other ponies? So many mental questions were running through my mind. Once again my eyes glazed over, allowing me to space out and think about the situation. I was, however, cut short my that aggravating hand that found its way into my mind and coaxed me back into reality yet again.

"Herm... huh, what?" I mumbled.

"Are you okay son?" He asked with a worried expression.

My first thought was to retaliate with a lecture on how everyone should know not to put their hands in someones face, for it was extremely rude, but I decided against it. After all, he was sending me to Equestria.

"Yes." I answered while wearing an over excited smile.

"Forgive me, but yes what?" He questioned.

"Oh, sorry. Yes, I agree to testing this machine." My excitement was quickly rising even more with every word I spoke.

"Oh wonderful! Please come this way." He requested as he led me over to a chair like contraption. It had wires connected to it all over and had a turquoise colored slime like substance. Then he gestured for me to sit down in it.

I reluctantly walked over and slowly sat down in the seat. It was cold, but not wet, it was a solid gel.

He saw the expression on my face. "That gel padding is to relax the 'dreamer' and that will make it easier for us to control where your mind travels to."

I honestly couldn't care less, as long as we could carry on with the project.

He attached nodes to my head and cuffs with an exceeding amount of wires to my wrists. He proceeded to flick a switch and everything looked...strange. My vision suddenly blurred and then stretched and slowly but surely my eyes started to contract until my pupils were extremely small, pin sized specks within the center of my iris.

He could see I was in pain. "You know, if you close your eyes and try to sleep, you would be in much less pain and you could sooner be in Equestria." He informed me. I had not thought about that at all, immediately it made sense to me and I complied.

Once I closed my eyes it was as if I were flying through my own mind. Every time my eyes moved I saw a new image implanted within my mind.

It was then I felt faint and blacked out...

I woke up feeling awful and somewhat refreshed. There was a sweet scent in the mid afternoon breeze.

Is it mid afternoon? Where am I? Did I make it? Did the machine work? The questions were overwhelming my mind and I forced my eyes open.

I was overcome by bright, dazzling colors that I have never seen in nature before, they were visually stunning. There were smells that wafted the air. It was then I knew.

"Dear god! I've made it! I am in Equestria!" I exclaimed in excitement.
