The Shy One
12 | Bright Future
Previous ChapterI fly with Flutters through the main street and eventually outwards past Ponyville.
“Did you enjoy your party?” Flutters asked.
“It was wonderful, Flutters; I’ve never had something like that done for me; it was truly a unique experience.”
“Your Mom said you would appreciate it.”
“Oh no, how much did she tell you about me?” I nervously asked.
“Oh, only the best things, like how you were as a filly and pet peeves.”
“Pet peeves?” I ask curiously.
“You know, being on time, super clean, just being you,” she said with a chuckle.
“You know, Flutters, I never asked about your parents.”
“What about them?” She asked curiously.
“Don’t you think I should, you know, meet them?”
“Oh, of course, Blue Bolt, I was just waiting for the perfect time; as a matter of fact, they will be in town next week, so you’ll be able to meet them then.”
“That’s great, Flutters. I hope they like me.”
“Who wouldn’t like you?” Flutters said smirkingly.
We finally reach Flutter’s cottage as we descend to the ground. We open the door and head inside, and I get hit with that amazing smell.
“It always smells so good in here.” I finally say.
“Well, I’m glad you like it because if you’re going to live here, you’ll smell like it daily.”
“Live here? With you?” I asked, surprised.
“Well, of course, Blue Bolt, where else would you go?”
“I, uh, well, have never lived with another pony before; it's just a little new for me, is all."
"Oh, don’t worry, I’ll be sure to give you your space if you can ever get me off of you,” As Flutters rushes over and hugs me.
“Thank you, Flutters. I can’t wait to spend all this time with you; I’m the luckiest stallion in Equestria.”
“And I’m the luckiest mare, Blue Bolt,” Flutters says as she kisses me.
“Do you want to go watch the sunset?” Flutters asks.
“I’m never going to turn down a sunset,” I say smirkingly.
We headed out the back door and up the hill adjacent to the cottage. “We cuddle up on the ground, wings wrapped around each other as we watch the sun slowly fall behind the mountains.
We stay out for quite some time until the sun is completely gone and gives the sky a purple and orange aurora from the sun setting and the moon rising.
“Oh, Blue Bolt, I can’t wait for our many adventures together.”
“Me too, Flutters; I can’t wait to spend every minute with you.”
“What were you thinking for our first big adventure?” Flutters asked curiously.
“Well, I’ve always wanted to visit Canterlot and meet royalty or maybe travel to the Dragon Lands; what about the Everfree Forest? Cloudsdale seems cool, or...” Flutters covered my mouth with her hoof.
"Yes, silly, we'll do all of it!" She said with a smile. "You and me together, now for our first adventure, we should get some rest” Flutters says smirkingly.
"Sounds like a plan to me," I smirkingly say back.
We trot back down the hill to the cottage, and as Flutters opens the door, I look behind me as an instinct, feeling as if something is there.
"What is it, Blue Bolt?" Flutters asks.
“Oh, it’s nothing. I just felt my Mom watching over me; let’s head inside,” as I closed the door behind me.
