Chapter 23 - The Spirit of Dishonesty, Fyb

The time: One month after Jalapeno's visit.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders hum their theme song as they plan how to get their cutie marks today.

Scootaloo: Boy, Jalapeno's sure a nice pony once you get to know her.

A.Bloom: It's a good thing sis figured that out before it was too late.

S.Belle: And such tasty treats!  I didn't think I'd like anything spicy, but Jalapeno sure changed MY mind!

CMCs: YEAH!

Applejack hums as she reads over her latest letter from her cousin.

B.MacIntosh: So THAT'S what happened.

Applejack: Yeah.  She WAS thinkin' about family, just her own.  I had her all wrong!

B.MacIntosh: At least ya caught it in time, sis.

Applejack: Ee-YUP!

Applejack and Big MacIntosh laugh it up.

*INTRO SEQUENCE*

Nightmare Moon murrs as she watches over Ponyville from Canterlot.  She blinks as she notices a few ponies.

N.Moon: Hmm.....

She gazes down at several ponies.

Pony 1 - blue with two-toned yellow hair - fem: But I DID return your book.

Pony 2 - grey with two-toned green hair - male: Are you SURE?  I don't have it.

Pony 1: Positive.

Pony 2: Well, OK?

The male walks off slowly, looking back at the female.  She smiles at him, then after he walks away, she snickers, a look in her saddlebag revealing she had it after all!  Nightmare Moon gasped.

N.Moon: She told a lie!....... Fyb.

Nightmare Moon flies down in front of Princess Celestia, making the sun goddess gasp.

N.Moon: Get the Elements!  Fyb is active!

P.Celestia: Are you sure?

N.Moon: Yeah, go look for yourself!

Princess Celestia looks in the telescope and sees widespread lying spreading from where Nightmare Moon saw the first two ponies.

P.Celestia: *nod* Yeah, that's gotta be Fyb, no question about it.

Nightmare Moon nods, then writes a note to Twilight Sparkle.  The Bearers of Harmony soon enter the throne room and put on their necklaces.

T.Sparkle: Where is Fyb?

N.Moon: His influence was last seen in the northwest sector.

R.Dash: We're on it.

P.Celestia: Be careful, my little ponies.

T.Sparkle: We won't let you down.

The ponies dash out of the throne room and scramble towards Fyb's location.  Along the way, they pass ponies lying about everything, from whether they paid for something to whether or not they have something that belongs to somepony else.  Applejack snorts, speeding up into the lead.  They hear whooshes in the sky, heading towards who was flying around - Fyb.

Fyb: So, you ponies have arrived!  Ruinous will be pleased to know I stopped your little roll!

T.Sparkle: You, stop us?  I'd say your own lying magic got to YOU!

Fyb: *laugh* Foolish little mare!  By the time I'm done with you, you'll be lying to YOURSELF!  Liar's Tongue!

All the ponies had to plug their ears as lies filled the air around them - everypony except Applejack, whose Element of Harmony was shining almost angrily.  Nightmare Moon flew over and watched from above as Applejack's Element of Harmony put a suit of armor on the farm pony, similar to Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie!  Applejack screamed out as the armor clad her in gold, apples of truth blasting all of Fyb's lies.  Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie armored up, Applejack landing in front of them, angrily glaring at the cobalt pegasus.

Applejack: Ya'll don't git it: WE are stronger than YOU are, YOUR LIES are NOT gonna affect ANYpony, ANYWHERE!

Just as before, all the Elements of Harmony pulsed with each other, especially Fluttershy's, Pinkie Pie's and now Applejack's.  The resulting Element of Harmony attack was almost too bright for Nightmare Moon to watch as it blasted Fyb hard enough to slam him to the ground!

Fyb: AH! This can't be!  THIS MUST BE A LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Applejack: NO! RUINOUS IS A LIE!!!!!

The same apples that destroyed all of Fyb's lies buried the dishonest pegasus as he felt his body dissolve, like Toxion and Fryght before him.  Applejack smiles as she nods at the mound of magical fruit.

Applejack: Halfway there!

Everypony congratulates Applejack, Nightmare Moon smiling from above.  Later that day - after apologies were made - everypony had a party to celebrate Applejack's victory.

?????: MI PRIMA!

Applejack: !!!  Jalapeno!

The two cousins embrace tightly.

N.Moon: Wow.  -ALL these ponies are something special.  It's almost as if everything they went through and everypony they know give them strength.-

P.Luna: WOW!

Nightmare Moon looks at Princess Luna, the moon goddess covering her mouth.

N.Moon: Spicy?

Princess Luna nods, floating a jalapeno popper to Nightmare Moon with her magic.  The black alicorn pops the whole thing in her mouth, then flies up, her hair turning into fire!  Everypony laughs as Nightmare Moon drinks down almost a whole punch bowl by herself!

N.Moon (smoke coming out of her mouth as she talks): *sigh*  *chuckle*  Yeah, that's..... spicy.....

This time, Nightmare Moon joins in everypony's laughter.

Jalapeno: Well, those are my Five Alarm Poppers.

N.Moon: I'll say!

Jalapeno and Nightmare Moon share a laugh.  Meanwhile, in the place the ponies fought Fyb, the pile of apples shifted to reveal a handsome peagsus stallion with white hair and a cobalt coat and no cutie mark.  He murrs as he walks around a bit, then heads off.
