Episode 18: Back to School...

Cozy Glow was getting her backpack filled with school supplies. Midpoint walked into Cozy's room, seeing her packed up. He then smiled.

"You just about ready for school?" Midpoint asked.

"I am, Alex," Cozy Glow said. "So, when's dad going to be here?"

"Let's see," Midpoint said. He then removed the rings on his wrists. He then smiled. "Huh. He's flying in today. Guess I'll pick him up after I drop you off at school."

"Well, we should get going," Cozy Glow said, grabbing her bag and putting it on her back.

"Hold up, Cozy," Midpoint said. "You forgetting something?"

"Am I?" Cozy Glow asked. She then looked down, seeing that she didn't have any pants or a skirt covering her panties. Cozy Glow looked up at Midpoint, smiling with her face turning red. She then slid towards her dresser drawer to get some bottoms.

Midpoint chuckled and walked out of the room, saying, "I'll meet you at the front door."

Midpoint was driving Cozy Glow to school. He eventually pulled up to a curb in front of the school. Cozy Glow then got out of the car.

"Okay, Cozy," Midpoint said. "I've gotta go pick up dad from the airport. See you around 3."

Cozy Glow nodded and headed towards the school. She eventually made it into her classroom, where most of the desks were occupied. Including one seat that was occupied by Mutt.

"Mutt?" Cozy Glow asked.

Mutt looked towards Cozy, smiled and said, "Hey, Cozy!" He then patted the desk that was next to his. "Come on over here." Cozy walked over towards the empty desk and put her stuff down next to it. "I'm guessing Alex got you registered to this school?"

"Yeah, and it wasn't easy," Cozy Glow said. "The original middle school I was going to start attending got destroyed by the quakes."

"That's too bad," Mutt said.

"Well, at least you're back in school here," said a human student. "Hi. I'm Christopher Thorndyke. But you can call me Chris."

"Thorndyke?" Cozy Glow asked. "Like Nelson Thorndyke, the President and CEO of Thorndyke Industries?"

"That's right," Chris said. "Although, your adoptive brother is kinda my dad's biggest financial rival about that."

"Oh, I know that," Cozy Glow said. "He doesn't really care about being the best in business. He leaves that for his archery game."

Just then, the school principal came into the classroom.

"Good morning, class," the Principal said. "Welcome to Station Square Middle School. Including our new transfer student from San Francisco, California, Cozy Glow-Lynol." Cozy smiled at being mentioned. "Although, I know you were expecting Mrs. Jenkins to be teaching you this year, but I'm afraid that she has retired over the summer. So, I would like for you to give a warm welcome to your new homeroom teacher, Mr. Franklin Stewart." Then the new teacher walked into the room, standing in front of the desk.

"Hello, class," Mr. Stewart said. "Glad to meet you all."

"Well, all of you enjoy your new teacher," the principal said. "I'll be heading back to my office." He then left the classroom.

"Okay, class," Mr. Stewart said. "Let's get started with some basic Spelling." He then looked at Cozy Glow. "And no, it's not like the spells that are done by any creature with a horn from Equestria, Cozy Glow." That made the class laugh. Cozy smirked and shook her head.

In Opaline's lair, Opaline was having a talk with her fellow villains. Shade was in the room as well.

"So, Twilight Sparkle thinks that she can protect Misty from my wrath, huh?" Opaline asked. "She is wrong. I'm gonna punish Misty for betraying me. All the magic in Equestria... no... the universe shall be mine."

"And what will you do when you have all the magic in the universe?" Scourge asked.

"Oh, that's for me to know and you to find out," Opaline said. "As for Misty, I want her taken down."

"Perhaps... we can persuade one of the other Freedom Fighters to take out Misty for us," Allura said.

"Oh, you think you can convince one of them to take down Misty?" Opaline asked.

"Oh, I know I can," Allura said. "Just need some... persuasion." Allura then used her mind controlling pur on Opaline, but it had no effect.

"That trick don't work on me, remember?" Opaline asked. "But, that is a good idea. In fact..." She then used her magic to project an image of Cozy Glow from the magic mirror. "...I think this little filly will be the perfect one to take over. Revert her back to her evil way."

"That Shirley Temple filly was evil?" Scourge asked. "How is that possible?"

"Abusive father wanted to take her to a military school after her mother died," Opaline said. "She ended up making an alliance with that centaur, Tirek."

"Never heard of him," Allura said. "So, where can I find that little filly?"

"She is starting to attend middle school in Station Square," Opaline said. "Go and manipulate her."

"Of course," Allura said. She then looked down at her hare. "Come, Twitch. We've got a filly to persuade." Then Twitch got on Allura's left shoulder, rubbed his paws together, and gave an evil chuckle. Allura and Twitch were then enveloped in pink flames and they vanished.

Shade walked out of the room and walked down the hall. She then pulled out her two way communicator, saying, "Misty. Misty, come in. I need you to listen carefully."

In the Station Square Mall, Misty was getting ready to start working. Then she felt the communicator she got from Shade buzzing. She pulled it out and listens to a message left on it.

"Misty. Misty, come in. I need you to listen carefully. Opaline is sending Allura to manipulate Cozy Glow and make her kill you. You must warn her."

"You got it, Shade," Misty said. She then grabbed her cell phone and checked her contacts. She then saw Midpoint's name and clicked it, calling him.

Back at the Emerald Coast Beach House, Midpoint was helping his dad with unloading stuff from the moving trailer. A lot of it was stuff from their old home in San Francisco. At least, the things that weren't too damaged from the quakes. Midpoint was carrying the recliner from the trailer by himself.

"Still blows my mind that you're able to lift stuff that heavy by yourself," Bruce said. "I still can't believe dad did that to you."

"Well, to be fair, it was an emergency," Midpoint said. "After what happened with Julien Robotnik making all Mobian-kind fugitives for his actions." Just then, his phone started ringing. He then saw the caller ID, seeing it was Misty. "Oh, right. I did see that happening earlier. I gotta go, Dad. Cozy's in trouble."

"Well, get going," Bruce said.

Midpoint then answered the phone saying, "I've already seen it happen, Misty. I'm getting my gear and I'm heading there now." He then waited a few seconds to let Misty talk. "Because I can see all possible futures up to 72 hours." Midpoint then opened up the picture frame that covered a safe. Then he turned the dial to the right combination, and opened up the safe. Inside was his signature bow and his quiver full of trick arrows.

Across the street from Station Square Middle School, a circle of pink flames emerged from the sidewalk. Allura and Twitch were there after the flames dissipated. Allura looked at the school with a dark smile. She then started walking towards the school.

In the homeroom of Mutt and Cozy Glow, the students were working on math that Mr. Stewart was teaching.

"You see, class, to solve a linear equation, you must reduce the numbers to figure out what x is," Mr. Stewart said to the class. "For example, solve this equation." He then written down a math equation: 3x - 2 = 2x + 4. A lot of the students in the class were worried that they wouldn't be able to solve this problem, especially Cozy Glow.

"Oh, man," Cozy said. "I barely was able to pass Math in my old schools. How can I..."

"Finished," Mutt said. That made the whole class look at him. Mr. Stewart walked over towards Mutt's desk.

"There's no way you could've solved that equation within 30 seconds," Mr. Stewart said before looking at what Mutt had written. "Except you're right and have shown your work. How did you solve this equation so fast?"

"I was originally home schooled by one of the greatest minds of Mobian kind, who happens to be the late uncle of Sonic the Hedgehog," Mutt said. "Sir Charles Hedgehog."

"Oh, that's right," Mr. Stewart said. "Sir Charles was a brilliant scientist. Of course he'd teach you some advanced things. Okay, you just wait until all the other students have solved the problem." Mutt nodded. He then turned around to look out the window. He then saw Twitch looking in. Twitch noticed him and ducked down.

"What?" Mutt asked. He then looked out the window to see Twitch scampering away from the window. "Uh oh." Mutt then headed back to his desk. He then started typing on his wrist communicator, getting in touch with the other Freedom Fighters.

On the freeway, Midpoint was driving on his way towards the school. He was being followed by someone on a red motorcycle. Midpoint looked towards the motorcyclist, seeing that the motorcyclist was wearing the same red jumpsuit as Olive.

"Hey, Olive," Midpoint said.

"What's the rush, Lynol?" Olive asked under the helmet.

"That winged snow leopard is going after Cozy," Midpoint said.

"Allura?" Olive asked. "Oh, I want in on taking her down. After what she did to Cream. She deserves to be taken down. Lead the way." Midpoint nodded and they exited the freeway where Cozy's school was.

Back at Station Square Middle School, the school had entered lunch period. Mutt and Cozy Glow were getting their lunch from the lunch counter, which was pizza.

"Sweet," Cozy Glow said. "Pizza."

"Yeah, who doesn't love pizza?" Mutt asked. He then thought about something. "I saw that hare that belonged to that snow leopard that showed up at the Olympics."

"Allura?" Cozy Glow asked. "Why would she be here?" Just then, the PA System went off. Then the Principal's voice came from the PA System.

"Cozy Glow-Lynol, report to the Principal's office," the Principal said over the PA System. "I repeat, Cozy Glow-Lynol, report to the Principal's office."

Mutt and Cozy Glow looked at each other with raised eyebrows. Cozy then said, "I haven't even had lunch yet."

"Something's up," Mutt said. They eventually made it to the end of the line and paid for their lunch. They then walked out of the cafeteria where Mr. Stewart watched them walk down the hall to the Principal's office.

"That's odd," Mr. Stewart said. He then headed towards the janitor's closet. He then got into it. He then pushed a button on his wrist watch, and an antenna came out of it. "This is Chalkboard Charlie calling homeroom. Come in homeroom."

Eventually, Mutt and Cozy arrived at the door that leads to the Principal's office.

"He only asked for me to go in," Cozy Glow said. "You just wait out here."

"Hang on, Cozy," Mutt said. "Something doesn't seem right." He then took off his hat and put his head against the door. "Huh. That's... odd."

"What is it?" Cozy Glow asked.

"Almost sounds like... purring," Mutt said.

"Purring?" Cozy Glow asked. "Like a large cat?" Mutt and Cozy looked at each other.

"Uh oh," Mutt and Cozy Glow said in unison. Just then, the door was ripped off its hinges and on the other side of the door was Allura.

"Hello, little pony," Allura said. Mutt then grabbed Cozy's hand, and then he used his Jet Shoes to get away from the winged snow leopard. "Oh, you think you can get away from me?" She then spread her wings and started chasing the two down the halls of the school.

Mutt was pulling Cozy towards the main door of the school. Just then, their path was cut off when the front door was covered in ice.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Mutt said, trying to stop. Then he and Cozy slammed into the frozen door and fell down to the ground. "You alright?"

"No, you?" Cozy asked.

"No," Mutt said. Just then, Allura walked up to them, looking down at the two young ones. "You shouldn't have tried keeping her away from her true destiny, Freedom Fighter."

"True destiny?" Cozy Glow asked. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"Oh, don't play dumb with me, little pony," Allura said. "After all, you were one of us. A villain."

Cozy Glow gasped at that and said, "You mean... this was about me... turning back to the dark side?! Not gonna happen!" Cozy Glow then got up, picked up Mutt, and started flying towards the cafeteria. They eventually came crashing into the cafeteria, getting the attention of all the students that were there.

"Everyone, evacuate!" Mutt called out. "Crazy, mind controlling snow leopard is in the school!" Just then, the doors to the hallway were coated in ice. Then they were broken apart as Allura came in.

"I've got you now, little pony," Allura said, smirking. "Don't worry. You'll be..." She then purred. "...purrrr-fect." The Sonic waves coming from Allura went through Cozy Glow. She was on the way of being mind controlled.

"Cozy!" Mutt said. "Fight it!"

Cozy Glow was being forced to smile, but it wasn't working as much as Allura was expecting. Cozy Glow had successfully blocked the mind control, and she looked at Allura with an angry expression.

"What?!" Allura asked. "How is that possible?!"

"You're not the only one who's a master manipulator," Cozy Glow said. "It's true. I manipulated a lot of ponies to do what I wanted them to do, but I won't let anyone else manipulate me. Plus, I had some help from those who was willing to help me when I was mentally troubled."

"Perhaps you may resist my power of persuasion..." Allura said, looking around at the other students. "...but they won't." She then purred at the other students. Then all the other students were being mind controlled by Allura's pur. "Get them!" Allura then pointed at Mutt and Cozy Glow. Then all the other students started walking towards Mutt and Cozy Glow with forced smiles on their faces.

"Not good," Mutt said.

The other students were being mind controlled by Allura, and they were heading towards Mutt and Cozy Glow. Just then, Chris came into the cafeteria, seeing the damage done. He then saw the students being mind controlled and going after Cozy.

"Okay, maybe I should've stayed in the bathroom," Chris said. Just then, Mr. Stewart ran past Chris and charged through the students to get to Mutt and Cozy Glow. He then grabbed them and headed back towards the door.

"Hang on, kids," Mr. Stewart said. "We're getting you out of here." He carried the two down the hall with Chris following behind.

Allura growled and said, "Don't let them leave!" Then the students started chasing after Mr. Stewart, Mutt, Cozy and Chris. They ran down the hall, trying to find another way out, but all the exits were covered in ice.

"Boy, she does not want any of us to leave," Mutt said.

"Not until she gets what she wants," Mr. Stewart said. Just then, the shadow of Allura covered them. They turned around, seeing Allura flying right behind them.

"You're not going anywhere!" Allura said. "What could puny creatures like you do against me?" Mutt, Cozy and Chris were hiding behind Mr. Stewart, trying to keep Allura from getting what she wants. He was about to reach for something in his pocket until the PA System went off. Just then, music started playing over the PA System.

"What?" Allura asked. "What is this?" Just then, the door behind Mutt, Cozy, Chris and Mr. Stewart was broken apart. They all looked at the broken door, and from outside, there was Midpoint holding his bow out like he just released an arrow, and standing next to him was Olive.

"Hello, Allura," Olive said. "Miss me?"

"Oh, no," Allura said. She then started flying away from them, but Midpoint shot another trick arrow, hitting Allura in the back, causing binds to come out of it, strapping down Allura's wings, making her flightless. "Oof!" Allura growled at that. "You shouldn't have done that, archer."

"Oh, that's not all I can do," Midpoint said. He then put his bow away and then he raised his right hand, making the sprinklers in the hallway start spraying. He then manipulated the water to strike Allura.

"Trying to fight me with water?" Allura asked. "Don't make me laugh." She then used her magic to freeze the water and the sprinklers. "What can you do now?"

Midpoint smirked at that. Olive noticed that and asked, "What are you up to?"

"I've been working on a new trick with my hydrokinesis," Midpoint said. "Behold." Just then, the ice shattered and reformed around Allura, turning into a large ice cage.

"What?!" Allura asked. "You can manipulate ice, too?!"

"Ice is just frozen water, which I can manipulate," Midpoint said. Just then, more water came in and dowsed Allura. Allura was getting angry. Then Olive fired a taser dart at Allura, electrocuting her, and the water wasn't helping. Allura then went unconscious. Then all the other students got out of Allura's trance.

"That was for my sister," Olive said. She then looked towards Mr. Stewart and said, "I'm gonna need a witness report from you about what has happened."

"Of course, miss," Mr. Stewart said. Then the two of them headed out.

Midpoint then looked towards Allura and walked towards her. Just then, he felt something kicking his right foot. He looked down and saw Twitch kicking Midpoint's right foot in anger. Midpoint then picked Twitch up by the scruff.

"Boy, you are one angry hare," Midpoint said. "Talk about loyalty to your owner." He then tossed Twitch towards Allura, making the hare land on his owner. He then brought out his bow and a trick arrow. "Okay, time to..." Just then, pink flames enveloped the entire cage. Then the flames disappeared, the cage, Allura and Twitch disappearing.

"Great," Midpoint said. "Opaline has taken her away."

Back at Opaline's lair, Opaline was scolding Allura for failing what she was sent to do.

"How hard is it to manipulate a little pony's mind?!" Opaline asked. "You just had to be defeated by that otter and that rabbit! How could you be more of a failure than the Destructix?!"

"Those pesky heroes somehow knew I was coming there," Allura said. "And I tried persuading that little pony into going back to the dark side, but she was able to break through it. And don't get me started on that otter's new trick."

"New trick?!" Opaline asked. "What new trick?!"

"Apparently, not only can the otter manipulate water, but he can also freeze it," Allura said. "He might be able to douse you out."

"Douse me out?!" Opaline asked. "No way! I shall destroy him and the other Freedom Fighters once I find a way out of this blasted barrier that's keeping me locked up in my own lair!"'

"Sounds like you're peeved," Allura said.

"Peeved? Peeved?!" Opaline asked. "Of course I'm peeved! Those pesky Freedom Fighters are getting in the way of my goal! Becoming the most powerful Fire Alicorn in the Universe! Then who knows? Maybe I'll move onto the whole Multiverse!" Shade was standing outside the door, listening in on Opaline and Allura.

"Oh, shoot," Shade said.

Back at Station Square Middle School, Olive was having a talk with Mr. Stewart.

"And that's basically what happened," Mr. Stewart said.

"Thank you for your honesty, Chalkboard Charlie," Olive said.

"At least we're keeping my GUN Status a secret from everyone in the school," Mr. Stewart said. "As long as you don't tell anyone. Especially your family."

"Well, my Mom found out I was a GUN Agent, and yet, she wasn't too upset," Olive said.

"That's surprising for me," Mr. Stewart said. "Especially since I was the one who got you into GUN."

"Well, I gotta get going," Olive said. "I gotta pick up my little sister from school." She then walked towards her motorcycle. She then got on it and started it up. "See ya, Chalkboard Charlie."

"Goodbye, Red Rabbit," Mr. Stewart said. Then Olive drove off, heading towards the Freeway.
