Twilight Sparkle was late to school. She was never late. Her friends already had suspicions that something was wrong, but at lunch, they finally decided to make sure she was ok.

“Are you ok?” asked Sunset Shimmer when Twilight sat down at their table at lunch. She already was concerned before the tardy, but it showed how serious the problem was.

“Not really,” Twilight whispered to Sunset, averting her eyes from her face.

“What’s wrong Twilight? Are you still having nightmares?” Fluttershy asked.

“No, I mean I am but that’s not the problem.”

“Then what is?’

“This,” Twilight said as she pulled out her phone to show an email she recently got. She did not recognize the email address, but that wasn’t what unsettled her. What she worried about was what the email said.

“Hello Twilight Sparkle, I know what you did. I know that you have a past that you might want to forget about. I won’t let you. You will get what’s coming to you, no matter what it takes. - Midnight” she read aloud off her phone.

“Who’s this Midnight person? What do they think you’ve done?” Sunset asked, worried that her friend might be in danger.

“I don’t know, but whoever they are gave me a good scare last night,” said Twilight. She had started to fidget with the bow on her shirt. “As I was walking home from the bus stop last night, someone grabbed me and told me a similar thing to the email. They then knocked me over, and I passed out.”

“Are you ok?” Sunset asked worriedly.

“Yeah, I think so, after I woke up I called an ambulance saying that I had tripped, fallen, and gotten knocked out. They kept me overnight at the hospital, and I wasn’t able to get out on time to make it to school.” Twilight said reassuringly. She stopped fidgeting, seemingly less nervous

“Why didn’t you call the police?” asked Sunset

“I thought that this Midnight person might be referring to the, eh hem, Friendship Games incident.”

“Ah, well at least you’re ok.” Sunset conceded.

“I might not be in the future.” Twilight started to fidget again.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean that this Midnight person might come after me again, and I might get seriously hurt.”

“Oh.”

“I’m worried, Sunset! I’m worried that I might get attacked, and I’m worried what my parents will say!’

“Wait, you haven’t told your parents yet? That seems like a bad idea.” Sunset replied.

“I guess. I’m still too nervous after last night to tell them though.”

“What if I went with you? Would that help?”

“Sure.”

“Can we do this right after school? I feel like we should do this as soon as possible.”

“Yeah, I think after school should work. Let’s meet at my house.” said Twilight

“Ok.”

As Sunset and Twilight finished talking, the bell rang, signifying the end of lunch.
