Return Of An Old Friend

Silver woke up and did his routine of becoming Turquoise. She went downstairs and noticed both of his parents were waiting for him.

“You know what I don’t get? How can you keep doing this despite how much the other students haze you?” Bullet asked.

“Because I refuse to give up,” Turquoise said. “If there's one major lesson I learned from Anime it's to never give up no matter the odds.

“You really think those kids will just magically change their opinions just like that?” Bullet asked.

“Maybe not all at once but I will get there at some point,” Turquoise said.

“That’s the spirit, don't let them drag you down,” Ruby said.

“Are you really hellbent on going down this path? Do you really despise your gender that much?” Bullet asked.

“Dad, I'm not the hero, I can't save anyone,” Turquoise said.

“Well you're going to have to be, because no one is going to save you,” Bullet said, trying to use Turquoise’s anime logic against her.

“Now bullet, don’t say that, I'm sure our girl will find someone,” Ruby said.

“Yeah right, everyone at her school hates her so much the only way she can get a man is if they lose a bet and are forced to date her,” Bullet said.

“As stimulating as this conversation was, I need to get going now,” Turquoise said.

“You can’t go yet, the limo driver is not here yet,” Bullet said.

“About that, I decided to drive myself to school from now on,” Turquoise said.

“No, I refuse to let people see that smut you call a car,” Bullet said.

“Racing Waifus is not smut, it's the anime version of Nascar,” Turquoise said.

“Either way that smut stays in our garage,” Bullet said.

“How can you call it that? You like Nascar as well,” Ruby said.

“Well they don’t have anime girls in slutty outfits plastered all over them,” Bullet said.

“Yeah because the real sluts are much more attractive right?” Ruby asked.

“Don’t bring them into this,” Bullet demanded.

“Turquoise dear you go ahead this might get heated,” Ruby said. Turquoise got in her car and drove off. Sometime later she arrived at crystal prep and parked. As soon as she got out one of the girls saw his car.

“Like, nice car loser,” The girl said sarcastically before walking off. Turquoise ignored that and kept going. As soon as she went inside she noticed most of the female students were not noticing her because in the hall was another boy with short light blonde hair who looked quite handsome. Something inside Turquoise told her this guy looked familiar to her for some reason. Soon the male students took notice of Turquoise.

“Oh look its that fag Silver,” One of them said which got the new boy’s attention.

“Silver? Where?” He asked before noticing Turquoise. He looked at her for a moment before continuing. Turquoise continued on to class and took her seat. A bit later the new student walked in.

“Class this is our new student,” Mr. Drake said before the new boy wrote their name on the board.

“I’m Haruka and it's a pleasure to meet all of you,” Haruka said. Suddenly it dawned on Turquoise why Haruka was familiar to her.

“Very nice now go take a seat, I believe there's one next to Turquoise, " Mr. Drake said as Haruka took it. The girls all looked bitter and spiteful since the new hunk in the class was sitting next to the queer they currently despise.

“He better not try and seduce our man,” One of them said.

“Yeah, that handsome piece of heaven is ours,” Another girl said. As much as Turquoise wanted to set the record straight about what Haruka really is, she kept quiet out of fear of getting punished by Mr. Drake. Despite all the spite she was getting, Turquoise remained focused. Once class was over Turquoise was on her way to her next class when Haruka approached her.

“Can we talk in private for a moment?” Haruka asked.

“Sure i guess,” Turquoise said. The two of them found a secluded spot where it was safe to talk away from the other students.

“Is that really you, Silver?” Haruka asked.

“Yes it’s me,” Turquoise said.

“Why are you dressed like a girl and acting like one?” Haruka asked.

“Because this is who i want to be, I’m not the hero who saves anyone, i’m the female love interest that is always being saved,” Turquoise said.

“Wow, I never knew,” Haruka said.

“Anyway, what are you doing here, I thought your parents would have you sent to some private school or something?” Turquoise asked.

“I’m here because I transferred here, this is my fifth high school actually,” Haruka said.

“Fifth? What happened with the other four?” Turquoise asked.

“Expulsion, plus to be honest I hated them because the principals were all tyrants,” Haruka said.

“So you went against them because you felt they were wrong,” Turquoise guessed.

“Well that and because none of those schools had you,” Haruka said.

“Me?” Turquoise asked.

“I have been looking for you for a long time, You and your family left without so much as a good-bye after fifth grade,” Haruka said.

“Dad moved his company headquarters to Canterlot City, so he had us pack up and move without so much as an explanation until we got to our new home,” Turquoise said. The warning bell went off which meant the two of them would have to pick up their conversation another time and head to class. Classes went by and Haruka noticed how badly the other students treated Turquoise. She wanted to do something but she remembered what her parents told her and did nothing for now. Soon lunch time rolled around and Turquoise decided to introduce Haruka to her friends. They entered the cafeteria and approached the group. “Hey girls, meet my old friend Haruka.

“Aren't you the new boy all the girls are fawning over?” Sunny asked.

“Actually Haruka is a girl,” Turquoise corrected, which really took the group by surprise.

“You can’t be serious,” Sour said.

“No Turquoise is right,” Haruka said nonchalantly.

“She said it like it was no big deal,” Everyone in the group said out loud together as if it was quite shocking.

“But enough about me, tell me your names, “Haruka said as she and Turquoise sat down.

“I’m lemon zest,” Lemon said.

“I’m sunny flare,” Sunny said.

“I’m Sugarcoat, nice to meet you,” Sugarcoat said.

“I’m sour sweet, “Sour said.

“And lastly, I'm Indigo Zap,” Indigo said.

“There is one more person but she is not in today,” Turquoise said.

“Now that introductions are out of the way, I must ask, why are you wearing the boy’s uniform?” Indigo asked.

“I’m not really into all that frou-frou girl stuff, my hobbies include racing and anime,” Haruka said.

“So in other words you're a tomboy,” Sunny said.

“Exactly,” Haruka said.

“In any case I'm happy to see you again, Haruka,” Turquoise said. Suddenly some girls came up to them and shoved Turquoise to the floor.

“Stay away from our man you disgusting freak,” one of them said which made Haruka look displeased.

“Hey, don't treat my girl like that, " Haruka said.

“Trust us Haruka, you don’t want that one, she is really a boy,” Another girl said.

“So I'm a girl too, so what’s the big deal?” Haruka asked.

“Ok, haha, very funny,” one of the girls said, hoping Haruka was joking only to see the expression on her face proving she wasn’t.

“OMG you're serious,” Another girl said, feeling her vision of Haruka shatter right before her.

“I am and Turquoise is my girl and I would appreciate it if all of you would stop attacking her,” Haruka said.

“No we won’t,” one of the girls said.

“Yeah, this slut has no place being here,” Lance said before getting ready to attack. Just when Turquoise thought she was about to get hurt, Haruka stepped in and sent him flying into the wall with a single roundhouse kick.

“Well damn looks like that’s strike five for me,” Haruka said before helping Turquoise up. “Are you ok?

“I am now, but why did you do that?” Turquoise asked, knowing what this could mean for Haruka once the administrators got involved.

“I wasn’t going to let this meat head hurt my dearest friend, plus now that I finally found you I can go to juvie knowing I got to see you again even if it is for the last time,” Haruka said as the administrators came for her and escorted her to Cadence’s Office.

“Well i say good riddance to the dike,” One of the girls said. Turquoise ran out of the cafeteria knowing what she had to do.

“Where is Turquoise going?” Lemon asked.

“And why does she look worried?” Sunny asked.

“I think I know why,” Sugarcoat said before explaining. “Haruka mentioned something about a fifth strike and going to juvie so Turquoise is worried that Principal Cadence is going to expel Haruka for saving her.

“But why would she when Haruka just got here?” Indigo asked.

Several minutes later Haruka was now in Cadence’s Office face to face with her.

“Given your previous history, I think you know what comes next don’t you?” Cadence asked.

“Go ahead and do it, it's not like anything is going to change the outcome anyway,” Haruka said. Before Cadence could get a word out Turquoise barged in looking upset.

“PLEASE DON’T EXPEL HARUKA FOR SAVING ME,” Turquoise shouted before falling.

“Turquoise? What are you doing here?” Cadence asked.

“Please don’t expel Haruka, she saved me from that jerk Lance who was about to strike me hard,” Turquoise begged.

“Turquoise, it's ok, you don’t need to degrade yourself for my sake, I won’t run from my punishment,” Haruka said.

“Relax you two, Turquoise, I'm not going to expel Haruka,” Cadence said.

“You’re not?” Turquoise asked.

“Of course not, I'm a fair person who gives second chances,” Cadence said before getting to Haruka. “However, I can’t ignore what Haruka did to Lance so Haruka will be serving four hours detention for assault, and as for Lance that will be my next issue to tackle but let me assure you he will not be bothering you or anyone ever again. The two of them left and just in time for lunch to be over. As soon as fifth period began an announcement played over the PA system.

“Will Lance Striker please report to the Principal’s Office,” The announcement said. A lot of the students looked quite concerned for Lance since this could mean something major while a few were actually looking forward to Lance’s punishment including Turquoise.

Inside Cadence’s office she did not look pleased in the slightest

“I warned you what would happen, but you did not listen,” Cadence said in a disappointed tone.

“Why are you being so protective of that slut Silver? Is he your son or something?” Lance asked wanting to find out why he keeps ending up in trouble every time he attacks him.

“Nothing of the sort, I'm trying to undo all the hatred left behind by my predecessor and what students like you are doing is making that difficult,” Cadence said.

“What the hell do you expect, this is a school, and in every school, there is a hierarchy where the strong bully the weak, it's as simple as that,” Lance said.

“Well, I'm putting an end to that hierarchy right here and now, and here is my first act towards that, Lance striker, you are hereby expelled, and if you ever set foot on my campus again, my husband will have a cell waiting for you downtown, “Cadence said.

“Expelled? You can’t do that, “Lance said.

“I gave you a fair chance and you blew it so yes I can and just did,” Cadence said before Lance's parents who were not so happy came in and took him away. Once fifth period ended all the students began talking amongst themselves.

“Did you hear? Lance was expelled,” One of the students said.

“I know and it's all because of Turquoise,” Another student said.

“But wasn’t it Haruka who attacked him?” A third student asked.

“It was but Lance was about to attack first so it’s no surprise that Cadence gave him the boot,” The first student said. Turquoise and Haruka were also listening in on the gossip going around.

“So, what will happen to Lance?” Turquoise asked before another student decided to answer that question.

“Lance’s parents are quite strict, and he told me if he ever got expelled his parents would send him to Volka’s military school in Alaska,” The student answered.

“So, I basically condemned him to life in prison,” Turquoise said.

“That is one way to put it,” Haruka said.

“How do you know this?” Turquoise asked.

“Because we used to be friends till, we drifted apart,” The student said before continuing on to class. The rest of the day went by fast, and the student’s hazing began to lessen after hearing about Lance’s expulsion. Soon it was time for Turquoise to go home and her Haruka to serve her detention.

“Hope to see you again Haruka,” Turquoise said.

“Oh, you will be seeing a lot of me, “Haruka said. Turquoise went to her car and drove straight home since she did not have any club activities today. As soon as she got their Turquoise was expecting both of her parents to be home, but it was just her mom.

“Where Is dad?” Turquoise asked.

“The two of us decided we needed some time apart,” Ruby said.

“You don’t mean a divorce, do you?” Turquoise asked.

“Of course not, I mean he went to visit his family in Manhattan to cool off for a bit, “Ruby said.

“This is all my fault, I should never have told you guys, “Turquoise said, feeling like she was responsible for the rift forming between her parents.

“Don’t blame yourself, you had to get it off your chest, your father is just not used to the idea of his son being a girl,” Ruby said.

“So, when will he be back?” Turquoise asked.

“Hard to say,” Ruby said before hugging Turquoise. After the embrace turquoise went to her room to rest for the night.
