Epilogue: End of the Road

Previous Chapter

Once the battle was over, and Luna understood that she and Leah had a lot of work to do to catch up with Flurry and even Twilight, she and the two Archangels returned to the group without wasting time, where they found that a portal back to Equestria was open for them to use.

"Now that your adventure is over we will construct a portal frame in the Nexus that will allow you to travel back to where you were sent, the world known as 'Sanctuary'." Twilight stated, speaking as they returned to the area outside Ponyville, which seemed to be the common area that all of the Displaced happened to return to, before she weaved her into into a brand new image, a spherical platform that was missing the upper half, "I took the liberty of moving the portals leading to all of the other worlds into a single area and had more frames created, for the remainder of the worlds that the Displaced were sent to... didn't feel right having all of them in one easily accessible place. You'll find that there is one portal frame still outside Ponyville, one that connects to the Nexus, but it's in a more realistic place that is out of the way and out of danger, so you are free to come and go as you wish."

"Your world is fascinating. There is so much we could learn from each other." Kulle commented, though he was already in the middle of imagining what he could do with the knowledge that was available to him now, how he could weave together even stronger constructs to finally bring peace to Sanctuary, all while they stepped out into Ponyville once more, causing him to look at the sky and found that the sun hadn't moved yet, "How odd, the sun has yet to move... I would have expected it to change position after all the time we were watching those matches."

"That's because Equus doesn't work by normal rules: we raise the sun and moon here." Luna remarked, causing her to turn her head to Twilight for a moment, because now she was thinking of something she hadn't thought before and it was a slight concern when she thought about what it meant, "Celestia and I have been missing for some time... whose been moving the sun and moon while we were gone?"

"Discord, originally. Went he went missing I took up the mantle." Twilight answered, though at the same time she let some of her magic surround her as a smile appeared on her face, because according to the clock she had it was actually about time for the day to give way for night, and she could see that Luna understood that as she readied her aura, "I've got the sun, so I'm ready when you are."

Luna nodded and together the two of them reached into the sky with their magic, where Leah and the others watched as the sun started to move across the sky while the moon rose to bring night to this strange world, leading to the sun being on the other side of the world with the moon being on this side.

"And now I've seen everything." Kulle remarked, because this world was definitely breaking all of his expectations, though he had a feeling that such a thing would be common if he explored Equus, as Twilight called it, and did his best to mentally ready himself for whatever the future held in store for him and his various studies.

"You mentioned that Discord used to move the sun and moon... what happened to him?" Luna asked, because that was very interesting and deeply worrying at the same time, especially considering the chaotic power that the Spirit of Disharmony had access to, so as she and Twilight dismissed their magic for the time being she figured that she would ask the question while they headed back to the castle.

"He's been displaced as well. He went out looking for Fluttershy, who actually ended up with Sombra and Radiant Hope, and next thing we knew he was just gone." Twilight replied, where it was easy for Luna and Leah to tell that she was annoyed by this, especially since Discord had a lot of power and now he wasn't present, meaning if they were ambushed by the demons they would be missing one of their main fighters, before she sighed, "We've been trying to find him as well, but his magical signature has dropped off the face of the universe itself... I've also checked all of the other universes, and he's not hidden in any of them... who he's either hiding himself, or something has stolen his power and scattered it."

"I see." Luna said, mauling over that information for a moment as they walked through Ponyville, though as she did that she paused for a couple of seconds as she realized what was odd about Twilight's statement, and she could see that the others were glancing at the figure at the same time, "Twilight... what do you mean other universes?"

"That, Luna, is a question that isn't easily answered, not without going into a whole lot of information that would simply fry your brain." Twilight stated, and she knew Luna was smart, and some of her companions were the same, but this was just a can of worms for someone who wasn't used to the layout, structure, and godly hierarchy of the nineteen universe that made up the multiverse, "Trust me, I'll tell you guys all about this later, once you've had time to digest all the information I've been able to gain from our universe."

Luna nodded as they took in that information, that there were more universe out there than the one that they were part of, before she heard the sound of something else coming their way, where she found Rainbow riding their way, one some sort of device she had never seen before, though Rainbow was near Twilight's build, had two horns growing out of her head, and had this twisted green energy coming from her.

"Princess Luna! I'm glad your back." Rainbow said, speaking as she came to a stop near them, allowing them to see that her ride was a mechanical thing that had two wheels, a golden frame with a green skeletal design, a place for Rainbow to sit in, a skull design on the front, and a curved spike or horn coming from the skull.

"It's... good to see you as well, Rainbow." Luna replied, where she found that Rainbow was definitely a warrior now, her body was toned like a warrior and while she didn't have weapons Luna was sure that they could be summoned at a moment's notice, before she glanced at the strange ride that Rainbow was riding, "What is this?"

"It's the Incognitro, Ratts' prize for the most intelligent of Azeroth... they all agreed I deserved it more." Rainbow stated, all while having a smile on her face, making Luna realize that it was likely a mix of fear and respect that caused the people of the world she had been sent to to give her this thing, whatever it was, though she also knew there was a story behind all this, another to add to the growing list, "It's a motorcycle, but runs on Fel energy... since I have plenty to go around, and I regain it at an extraordinary rate, I can use it for as long as I want."

"You know what, I'm just going to shelve all of this for later... there is far too much going on for me to keep up with." Luna said, because she was still getting used to all of the basic knowledge she had gained from meeting up with Twilight and the others she had seen so far, and right now she really didn't need all of the excess that was going on right now, plus she knew she'd have to ask about Fluttershy at some point, especially since Sombra was involved, "First things first, Twilight, I would like to return to Sanctuary with Leah and the others, as we need to make sure the High Heavens and the Burning Hells come to an understanding... with the Prime Evil and the greatest Archangel working together I'm sure we can make a lasting peace, especially with a new threat coming our way. Kulle, can you help us track down Lilith's prison?"

"I can, but why would you..." Kulle started to say, though in the following moments he understood, as Luna was banking on trying to unite the creators of Sanctuary into a unified front as well, which meant finding both the Mother and the Father, and maybe even the First Necromancer that was their son, and getting them to set aside their differences, "You'll be playing a risky game, Luna."

"Maybe so, but Lilith wants what's best for Sanctuary and might be able to help us." Luna replied, as Mephisto's daughter had been sealed away at some point, she wasn't entirely sure on the story and it's various specifics, but she was sure that if they presented her with the situation Lilith might join them and that meant the demonic followers would have more reason to side with them, "It's Inarius I'm worried about... according to the tales he's got a few screws loose."

"It would seem that you have a lot of work to do, Luna." Twilight commented, where she nodded her head and created one of her portals in front of them, bringing them to the Nexus, the strange half spherical structure that seemed to be floating in the air, yet Luna was sure she hadn't seen it from Ponyville, and they found that there were a number of portal frames, each a different style with a sign to indicate which world it went to, before she found one that was a mix of angelic and demonic designs, "There you go, a portal back to Sanctuary. I'll come along later and make a portal frame in a safe area that you set up, that will connect you to this place so you can come and go whenever you want... and, if you find the time to do so, you can visit more of the universe by using the other portals. I'll also be available from time to time, to share information with you, swap stories, or train, especially since I know that you and some of your allies will want to explore the vast amount of knowledge that I've gathered over the years."

"Thanks Twilight. I'll be back once I've got a grasp on the situation." Luna said, and that was the truth, now that she knew of the threat she wasn't about to leave Twilight and the others to fight this battle on their own, even though it seemed like they had an armada or a large amount of forces waiting to attack the demons when the event happened, "For now, we'll focus on preparing things on our side and then join up with you when we're done."

As Twilight nodded Luna found that the portal currently brought them out in Westmarch, a decent place since they would start their work to unite Sanctuary into a single united front, but she did make sure their first order was to find a permanent base of operations, all while Tyrael focused on the Archangels and Kulle focused on tracking Lilith down, something that caused Luna to smile as she and Leah braced themselves for whatever the future held for them and their newfound allies.
