Previous ChapterNext Chapter"You two did great for your first time fighting my aunt." Flurry commented, speaking to Luna and Leah as they entered the bubbled area and stepped into the protective shell that Twilight had created in the past, even though she could see that both of them were just surprised by what they had seen, "Don't worry, Twilight has that effect on everyone... no one is really ready to fight her the first time, regardless of the training they did before coming back home."
"She's definitely in her own dimension of power, that's for sure." Leah remarked, as not even the power of the Prime Evil seemed to do anything to the powerful figure she and Luna had fought, or rather it was like they had struggled against her power, since they had done nothing to Twilight while she could have taken their heads in an instant if she wanted to.
Luna, however, knew that this would be a kick in the pants for her and Leah, because while both of them were strong this discovery meant that there was far more for them to learn, more room for them to grow, and who knew what else, which just made her more interested in what the future had in store for them.
"Now then, Flurry, you wanted to challenge some of Luna's allies?" Twilight inquired, glancing at the two that would be the ones her niece was interested in, the ones called Imperius and Malthael, where she knew they were strong but were also below Leah's strength, but should be a decent challenge for Flurry.
"No need. We shall beat her." Imperius remarked, spreading his wings as he burst out of the bubbled area and flew down into the open area that was below them, while at the same time Malthael seemed to do the same thing, just more gracefully, something that caused Flurry to shake her head as she opened her own wings and flew out without even making a single sound.
"Oh, he has no idea who he's dealing with." Twilight commented, though at the same time she simply smiled as the three warriors landed in the area below them, because she knew Flurry's true strength and knew that Imperius would constantly underestimate her niece, causing her to glance at the others, "Better get some popcorn, this is going to be interesting."
Flurry stood there for a moment, staring at the two figures, Archangels as Luna called them, seeing one holding sickles while the other had a spear, where she shifted her stance and pulled her own sickles off her belt as she glanced at them, silently beckoning for them to come at her. Luna watched as Imperius rushed at Flurry without delay, his spear at the ready like he was going to impale her right then and there, yet in the following moments she moved out of the way while using her sickles to knock back the weapon like it was nothing. Flurry followed it up by bringing the base of her sickles together and twisted, causing them to merge into a sickle staff, spinning it around as one curved blade slipped under Imperius' collar area before he could stop her, and it wasn't long before she lifted him over her head and slammed him down into the rocks behind her. In the next instant she spun around and dismantled her staff into the two sickles, the two blades coming into contact with Malthael's own sickles, as the Archangel of Wisdom saw what he perceived to be an opening and struck, only to find that she actually didn't lower her defenses in the slightest.
The ground around them cracked a little before Flurry shifted her stance and knocked Malthael backwards, where she raised her hand towards the bag on her belt and summoned a spear with a crystalline head, one that she spun around and used to move into a flurry of blows that forced Malthael to step backwards.
Luna noticed how odd that was, as she had assumed that the sickle bearing Archangel would be able to avoid such an attack or not even be affected by it, yet Flurry's attack had struck the figure like it was nothing, making her wonder what Flurry's power might be, like how she was the moon and Celestia was the sun. Malthael summoned what appeared to be a deathly fog that spread around the area he was in and sent it at his foe, no doubt to weaken her movements or something, and yet, as the fog reached her, Flurry just stood there with an eyebrow raised. She did, however, step out of the way as Imperius tried to bring down his spear on her, missing her without her even noticing him coming her way, and yet Flurry reached for her bag as she switched the spear for another weapon, a pair of large fist weapons that looked like they had lion heads on the front of them. They were large, like they had been made for a giant or someone close to that size, and yet she wielded them with surprising grace as she used the outer edge of the weapons to parry another couple of jabs from Imperius before punching him in the chest, sending him back into the rock wall behind her.
In that moment Luna also noted that Flurry's sickles and bow remained on her at all times, but any other weapon seemed to come from her bag, making her wonder how many weapons were actually contained inside the bag, before she heard the sound of someone chuckling and found that it was Twilight.
"The answer to your question, Luna, is 'yes'." Twilight said, where at the same time they found that Flurry went on the attack as she assaulted Malthael, the sheer power of the fist weapons forcing the angel backwards as she dominated both Valor and Wisdom with her power, and Twilight noticed the look on Luna's face, "Flurry's been collecting powerful weapons since her adventures started, and the ones she's pulled out so far aren't even the strongest ones... but make no mistake, while each weapon is powerful in their own right, even legendary so depending on which one it is, Flurry is still more powerful."
As Luna thought about that Malthael and Imperius attacked Flurry at the same time and knocked her backwards, where she simply slipped the fist weapons into her bag as she withdrew a new weapon, a warhammer with a crystalline head, though in the following moment she swung it downwards at Imperius and the Archangel dodged. The instant the head connected with the ground Luna and the others watched as the ground around Flurry cracked and shattered, as if the weapon itself caused a minor earthquake that transferred into the area around them. Twilight wasn't even surprised by this, rather she called this weapon 'Earthshaker', a warhammer that had been reforged by the God of the Forge from the land Flurry had been sent to and empowered with this power over earth, which was just amazing to Luna. Flurry's speed allowed her to keep pace with the two Archangels that were in front of her, swinging the weapon like it was nothing, and when it collided with Imperius' chest it actually cracked his armor like it was nothing.
In the following moment, despite having no place in this fight, Luna descended on the battle and found that Flurry parried the Ashbringer before it could even find it's mark, but she wielded a golden greatsword that seemed far beyond what the warhammer was capable of, where she found that she was forced back as well.
"What is that?" Luna asked, though at the same time she shifted into her true form as she felt Malthael summon his greatest power as well, because the unveiling of this weapon seemed to indicate that Flurry was planning on bringing an end to this fight, as she determined that it was far stronger than the other ones from their brief clash.
"The Blade of Olympus, a weapon that ended ended wars and killed gods, reforged by Hephaestus as well." Flurry said, but at that point Luna wasn't even surprised, as this God of the Forge, or maybe it was more appropriate to call him the God of Smiths, seemed to be a really talented individual, but even then she wasn't expecting the weapon to be so powerful or have such an impressive history, "Here I come."
Luna found that Flurry was able to move with the Blade like it was nothing, that the weapon was light and didn't weigh her down in the slightest, and when she swung it Luna found that she moved like it was just a light one handed sword, yet none of her movements were wasted in the slightest. Both of her blades parried the weapon as Malthael went on the offensive as well, where one would think that they would have a greater chance to bring her down since Luna's new full power chilled the air around her and slowed her enemies down, yet Flurry wasn't bothered in the slightest. In fact when both Imperius and Malthael came at her, as the Archangel of Valor wasn't done yet, but as that happened Flurry glanced at them and snapped her fingers, summoning an imposing battleaxe with what looked like a dragon design on it, so when she jumped away from Luna she could parry both incoming attacks with ease. This made her wonder many things as Flurry landed on the ground, as everything she had seen so far suggested that she was a seasoned warrior, like she had spent her life fighting and even training, at nearly every hour of the day, and it amazed her when she found that Flurry was so skilled.
It also looked like she wasn't the only one surprised by this fact, as both of the Archangels landed beside Luna, both likely assuming that together they might be able to uncover a hole in her defenses, or at least force her to give up if they wounded her, though as they stood there Flurry tilted her head for a moment.
"So, Malthael, what sort of Archangel did you say you were?" Flurry asked, because she knew that Imperius was Valor, he had said such a thing while she was watching her aunt fight Luna and Leah earlier, but Malthael had remained silent, and while she could guess at what aspect he represented she wanted to hear it from him.
"I was Wisdom, originally, but now I am the Archangel of Death." Malthael replied, something that surprised Imperius while Luna just nodded her head for a moment, because she had suspected that the missing Archangel had tapped into some sort of new power and it looked like she had been right in thinking such a thing, but him being Death itself was definitely not what she was expecting.
"I see. Well then, we are a terrible match, aren't we?" Flurry remarked, though before any of them could say anything she let a wave of energy wash over her, enveloping her body as Luna realized that their opponent had been holding back the entire time, that what she was revealing was her true power.
Luna noticed something else as that happened, the power that surrounded Flurry was deathly, much like Malthael's power, and as that happened they heard the sound of what seemed to be an eerie whistle, one that made the hair on the back of her neck stand up, before she realized what they were seeing.
"Flurry... you are no mere extraordinary warrior... you are..." Luna said, as she understood what they were seeing, in fact she could tell that Malthael had come to understand this fact as well, while Imperius just stood there as he struggled to figure out what in the world was happening.
"Death." Flurry replied, the act of her saying that caused the magic to crystalize and shatter into a thousand pieces, but when the magic cleared Luna found that Flurry's attire had changed, she had a dark grey shirt now, brown trousers, and a black robe over both that could pass as a shroud, with a hood that was pulled back, and she moved her sickles a little, "And I don't mean it metaphorically, or rhetorically, or poetically, or theoretically, or in any other fancy way. I'm Death, straight up."
In the next moment Luna found out something familiar, Flurry quickly rushed at them and overpowered each of them, as in she used her sickles to block Imperius' spear before knocking him into the rock wall again, she dodged and moved out of the way before sending Malthael into the ground, and she ducked before delivering an uppercut to Luna's chin, knocking her to the ground.
"You know, I know when I'm beat. I couldn't touch Twilight, but I'm not foolish enough to challenge Death itself." Luna said, letting out a laugh in the process, while Malthael stood and bowed his head in respect, as one wielder of the power of Death was showing respect to another, even though Luna suspected that in the world Flurry had been sent to she was known as the 'Goddess of Death', "Though I must admit, I'm looking forward to training with you again in the future... with your arsenal I can imagine that each training session would be different than the last."
Luna could only look forward to what the coming days had in store for her, because there was so much for her to learn and see from the rest of the Displaced and their allies, so much for her and her own friends to improve upon, and it really made her interested in whatever the immediate future held in store for them.
