"Should we strike it down now?" A white Unicorn asked "No our orders are to watch and observe" Responded a Thestrial "Oh Come on we should kill it before it empowers Hatred's army even more!" shout whispered a Orange Pegasus "And that is the reasons we are just observing instead of making a rash decision lest you forget the whole reason Hatred has come to power." replied the Thestrial with barely contained malice. With the lack of a response from the Orange one the three began to watch the Human enter Ponyvile. Gregory's POV As I walked into the clearing I saw the town of Ponyvile but it looked ransacked and ever more importantly abandoned. "Hello anyone here" I called out to the ghost town looking at how there appeared to be pockmarks that dotted the land and black stain marks that looked frighteningly like blood splatter. it was until I passed a long, weathered, trenchlike crater that I heard a noise rang out. I was confused at the sound because it was a metallic whirring sound that did not belong in a place like equestria and was coming from behind a building. I stood still as soon as I saw that the thing making that sound was a Arachnotron from Doom. I continued to stay there as I saw that it had finally had noticed me in its gaze. It inspected me for about five seconds before it hissed at me and started to charge its main weapon in which I ran. I felt a blast from behind me as I tried to find some shelter. I booked it towards the building that was the least destroyed and jumped through a empty space where a window would have been. I continued to sprint through the desecrated house as I heard the Arachnotron burst through the walls like they weren't even there. I ran out of the building and as soon as the demon passed through the building I heard it power up it's cannon again, I prepared my self mentally for the burst of air and heat but it never came as instead I heard the sound of glass shattering. I took a chance to turn around and saw that the monster was now on fire with a Orange Pegasus that looked similar and a midnight blue Thestrial. The Thestrial soon flew up to me. "Follow me you want to live!" She said and I did what was asked. We ran away from the town and back towards the Everfree where a white Unicorn with a red cross waited for us. The Unicorn then cast a spell and nodded her head at which we continued to go deeper into the forest. We kept our pace even as the Pegasus rejoined our group. The journey continued like this until we got to a seemingly random place at which the Thestrial stomped her hoof in a rhythmic fashion and waited until the ground suddenly popped open. We then traveled into a cramped tunnel system. It was then I decided to finally speak. "Uh hey thanks for saving me." I said to the group and got no response from so I decided that they didn't want to speak right now and I began thinking on what has happened so far. Luna's POV I walked in the hallway that led to Celestia's room with my head in the clouds. I Ran through multiple scenarios on how I could of stopped Hatred's vicious war upon Ponykind. Maybe I could visited him in his dreams or even better done it in person, maybe I could have joined my sister in fighting the Monster in what was once Jason, or I could have even told her that the reason Jason gained these new powers was because of my Nightmare But I didn't get to go down that oh so familiar rabbit hole of self hatred as I walked up to a pure white door with a symbol of the sun that marked Celestia's bedroom. "Tia can I come in" I said as I knocked on the door. "mmm" came the half hearted reply from the room. I assumed that meant come in so I opened the door and saw my sister doing her daily routine of staring at the roof. If the fact that Perfect Hatred was my fault made weep in guilt then Celestia made my tears look like a small leak in a thousand hoof tall dam. At first she would lie there and cry but her tears had dried up years ago and now all she had was an empty look in her eyes that tore at my heart every time I dared glance at them. "I have reports from the door guards that the anomaly we felt was indeed a Human and that he is not aligned with ....his agenda." I said and noticed how her eyes a a brief but oh so reassuring spark that gave me hope for the future. "But I am debating with my self on what to do when the Human arrives and wanted to know your opinion." "Have the Penitent One assess him." my sister said and with a nod I left to her to ruminate on herself. Gregory's POV We continued in silence until we arrived at what looks like a turn at which the Thestrial once again rhythmically pounded her hoof on the wall, in which like before the door opened but this time it opened a much more spacious gathering hall that had another wall at the end and another hallway that split off to right and led to a big set of steel doors. As we made our through the door I saw for the first time a general populace. The town that we had walked into was made up of tents as far as the eye can see, which surrounded a two story building made into the rock. I didn't know what I expected when I walked into the impromptu refugee camp but it was not looks of rage from every pony I saw. I was afraid that some would act out on that feeling as we walked but alas it seems that the group that had saved me was doing so once again for once the anypony's eyes fell on the entourage their looked away and grumbled. that continued until we got to the two story building. The doors opened to a busy library but all sound stopped once we entered the building. I had expected to see those hate filled glares again and while those still existed I could see a couple of faces that were full of regret and shame. We walked past them and up a flight of stair and at the end the stair I saw Twilight for the first time. I gasped as I saw that she wore a white porcelain mask and that right above her eyes was a bloodied cross. "What happened to you?!" I blurted out before I could stop myself and Twilight looked at me. In her I eyes I could not see the hatred or even the rare bouts of shame but instead I saw a deep sadness. "Let me tell you a story. it begins with a simple action as most story's go but one that has doomed the entire Pony race. A Unicorn mare that in a rejection of everything she was taught rejected a person that was only looking for friendship and thought nothing more of it." Twilight closed her eyes and continued on. "but the town seeing this thought the person was monster and in turn treated it with hatred when all he wanted was someone to lend a hoof." she turned back to stare at me and started up again. "And so as any creature when faced with overwhelming hatred he broke and tried to end his life, But whether by divine providence or by karma he was taken before he commit the act. A week pasted and the same creature wearing a set of armor bathed in white and gold. The pony who was once a Unicorn, but now a Alicorn and her friends gathered to stop this threat. That threat with all the Hatred that it had gathered had turned that hate unto its original sources. The One who tortured the being with cold Lightning had been stabbed and tossed away like the villain she was, the one who had led him in with false promises only to strike him down and witnessed the would be final moments of the person had her deceitful hoofs broken, and the one who had created the angel of vengeance was dragged across the land and given a monument to her heretical denial of all she believed in." I stood there shocked as I tried to process what she had said but she was not finished yet. "But the two rulers of the land had came because they were called by the Heretic but they were too late as the being fled. But while the three that had been torn down lay bleeding the one who broke her vow of kindness ran along with the spirit of chaos from the anger of the Celestials. The one that represented went to chase the specter of Hatred while the one the held dominion carried the three to the hospital, but the being was clever and had tricked the Sun into showing him the gate to hell and he gladly took the opportunity and so he remained for a year. She stopped and got up to approach me. "During the year Heretical Generosity and the torturer Loyalty became devout in her hatred of the being and so learned nothing. The Liar and witness of fruits bourn rejected all of her once friends and for once told the truth to all who could hear and once the liar was recovered cut her mark for she realized she had committed a sin against the very thing she stood for. The Heretic Alicorn was set to follow the example of The torturer and the so called Generosity and relish in the heresy of it all, but the truth of The Liar opened the doors in which the Sun had blown it wide open to the horrendous truth. So the heretic had spent the rest of the year in exile to learn reflect on the truth but the angel was not gone. She walked closer to me but when she got half way there she sat back down and hung her head. "The angel had spent all that time gathering forces from hell and on the exact day he tried to complete his promise that he had made on the day he tricked Sun .... and he succeeded but while he rode on a storm of justice that was rightly earned I realized that it did not just target those guilty but those who are innocent of our crime, so I decided then and there that to repent for my sins of heresy I must lead the ponies and create a new world free from the hate of the previous and in that promise I realized I must abandon the name Twilight Sparkle for she was injured on the day she closed the door and was finally slain when he began his revenge. From that day onward I would be known as the Penitent One. So you ask what happened to I say that the storm of Perfect Hatred is what happened to me, but my question onto you is will you help us?" she finally asked as I stood there processing all she had told me. I knew from the moment i saw the demon what my answer would be but this speech just solidified my determination to do the right thing. "How can I help?" I asked taking a half step forward. "Well we will need need the tree of harmony to make sure your intentions are good." she said as she walked the rest of the way to me and outstretched her hoof in which I gladly took and shook. "But I am certain that together we can end this cycle of-- VIOLENCE
WillView OnlineHell Hath no MercyWill Gregory's POV I stood at the area I had appeared mere hours ago and was lost in thoughts of this world that I have landed in but my train of thought is interrupted by the sound of Twilight speaking. "Ah I see we are all here. Now Gregory are you prepared?" She asked me "Yes." I answered without hesitation. "Then what you must do is place your hand upon the tree." So I did was asked But after standing there for a moment or two, nothing had happened. I turned back around to ask Twilight what is supposed to happen but as soon as I blinked the entire world changed around me to be a empty field. I found myself in a empty field of yellowing grass that seemed to stretch onto infinity. "Where did they go?" I said out loud to no one in particular. "they are not necessary." I jumped at the sound a voice behind me and turned to see the person. It was a ghostly woman who's appearance looked somewhat familiar but I couldn't place where I had seen it. "I would tell thou my name but I know you already hold this knowledge." I did assume her name was Harmony but this all but confirmed it. "But let us not waste time with tis idle talk." I heard her say as I suddenly felt her push me. I fell but never felt the ground reach me as I suddenly rose in a completely new area. I stumbled and eventually found that the field was replaced with a shallow body of water and the sky was pitch black but I could still see myself as if I was dragged from a bright area and dropped this abyss and reality didn't realize that there was no light to illuminate me. "You hath agreed to a promise of help and we know of your entire history but we do not know if you have what it takes to complete thou task." As she finished her sentence I saw another human materialize in front of me, this one was instead clothed in a white and gold set of armor. The person was sitting on his knee's and had his arms on his thighs while his head looked down. "So now I ask, when thou enemy is lain in front of you what shall thou decide. Kill or spare him, tis decision be only thine to make." I felt a sword in a sheath materialize on my hip and I pondered on what I should do until I finally came to a decision. "No I will not ki---." I am interrupted as suddenly the figure summons a sword in which he tries to impale me with, but I am faster as I deflect his sword with my own. I then kick him away, flip my own sword around, and plunge it towards him. My aim is true and the blade pierces through, but not even a moment later the specter disappears in a shower of blue sparks that blow away in the nonexistent wind. "good thou hast proven yourself not only of good moral statue but of quick response as well." Harmony said as she sudden appeared to the left of me. "So sir Gregory Graystone if thou heart be set then bow before me" I did as she asked and knelt Infront of her "Do thou promise to be Loyal and keep thine blade from any who adheres to the path of Harmony?" "I do" I responded to her prompt. "Does thou promise to be Generous and Kind to any fallen enemy's who cry mercy?" "I do" "Does Thou promise to be Honest to these vows while being true to thine heart?" "I do" "Does thou promise to preach the magic of friendship and by consequence spread throughout the lands the merriment of hope?" "I do" "Does thou promise that you shall uphold justice and never fall into vengeance?" "I do" "Then I dub thee Knight Greystone, element of Justice" She said this as she tapped a sword over both of my shoulders. "Now go forth and bring about not wrathful vengeance but equal justice." she said as she placed her hand on my head and I was suddenly gone as fast as I had appeared. Twilight's POV I saw the Human place his hand on the tree and suddenly he froze with his eyes turning pure white. This lasted for a while until eventually flash of white made the three of us blink our eyes rapidly in a attempt to get rid of the spots that had appeared. After I eventually got my vision to work properly I saw that the human but he was wearing a new armor and that the two ponies who had chosen to continue guarding the Human were bowing. The newly dawned set had a blue and black coloring to it with two golden light's on the piece that covered his breasts, he also had a golden visor that now sat on his nose like a pair of glasses. He rose as he clenched his now gloved hand open and shut. "Ah you have finally come out and with your new set of armor I assume that Harmony has deemed you worthy of heart and mind" I said to the worthy human. "yeah that she did." he responded to me and then turned his head towards me. "So what do we do now Twilight?" I clenched my teeth at him calling me that name but I eventually ignore it and answered him. "Now we train for the retaking of Canterlot." Jason's POV I sat on the desecrated throne that was once that naive sun bitch's throne and was lost in a deep conversation with The entity that gave me my revenge when suddenly the door opened to the room in which a imp creature walked in. "Sir we have a report on activity from Ponyvile." I snatched the report from the minion without further word and read the report. As I read I got more and more angry until I calmly set down the paper and finally looked at the imp. "So you telling me that you saw another human and thought to your self "oh wow this person kind of looks like my overlord I should attack him"." I responded with my best attempt at remaining calm "We w..w..were just fulfilling your orders sir." "Oh so it isn't out maliciousness it was just because you are stupid I see." And before he could mewl out a response I severed his head from his body. "clean this up" I said as I snapped my fingers and made my way back to the throne. "You should have made him suffer for his insolences." The Entity made her self known "I didn't want to hear anymore from his lips be it screams or excuses." I thought back to the Entity. DuelView OnlineHell Hath no MercyDuel"Hey you still with us?" I am snapped out of my thoughts as a Thestrial I now know as Dusk Bane calls me to attention "Yeah I'm ready." "You better be or else the two weeks we spent training shall be for nothing" she says as she jumps up onto the jutting rock. I do the same while being mindful of my activated sword which just barley illuminated the dark caves. As we walk my mind goes back to the mission details. "Hey eyes up here!" Dusk Bane says to me "I don't want to repeat this got it." I give her a nod to continue on in which she rolls her eyes at. "Alright so our mission is to deactivate any traps and the shield that protects canterlot, then once the main army starts the attack Gregory will regroup with the Penitent One and Luna to go and eliminate Perfect Hatred." I am snapped back to reality as we hear the sounds of talking and walking. We take cover and look towards Dusk. She then mimes out that there are two goblins and she wants me and Scootaloo to sneak up on them. We glance at each other and take our positions. It is over before they can even make a sound and we continue on. Our movement continues until we reach a blood red barrier and Dawn looks at me waiting for me to break the shield. "Alright now we see what you really can do." Scootaloo says to me. "Heart if you would" in which she got a nod from the white unicorn and I am soon surrounded by a shield, but I am not given any time to think as it starts shrinking. at first I start to bring out my swords but I get a feeling that tells me to place my hand upon the shield and use my magic. I decide to follow the instinct and I am rewarded with my hand lighting up. eventually though waves of lights push a barrier made of rainbow in a oval shape until it becomes too much for Red Heart to handle and the bubble pops. I follow the untold command and proceed to create a hole big enough for the two ponies to fit through. Once they are through I follow behind but turn to see the shield fill the hole back up in a instant. We continue along the predestined path until we reach a brick wall, in which Dawn goes up to the wall and at seemingly random pushed on three bricks and causes sounds of machinery and the brick wall opened up. As we walked into the sewer I noticed that their was no water flowing or any water at all, but we ignored the lack of it and continued to our objective all while trying to listen for any sounds that were out of the ordinary, But we did not hear anything all the way to the manhole cover that was next to our location. As agreed upon I was the first to exit, At which I saw nothing around I signaled for the others to follow me and as we moved I took in the view that was once Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, but I didn't let the sight hold me up as we entered the building. The plan proceeded to go along smoothly until we heard a shrill screech down the hallway that we were just leaving. I didn't wait for a signal for I knew it was time for plan B. My wings flashed out and I flew towards the Imp and slashed it in half. It burst into flames and disappeared without a ash left behind. We then rushed to the tower without caution for they surely knew that we were here. We passed by many human sized demons that were shortly dealt with but we did not stay to fight those who were not in our way. Flames, slashes, and fireballs that were quickly parried accompanied us as we rushed our way towards the tower that held the shield, but eventually we found the tower and made our way into the large doorway. what we found was a machine that had a red beam coming out of the center, but in our way was a lumbering Mancubus. It instantly tried to fire upon us but I quickly parried the blast, which blew up in its face and caused the Mancubus to stumble back in pain but I kept up the attack and dashed towards it. I ripped out the power core that made this unholy thing live and shoved it down its ever hungering maw. Something in the core must be explosive because soon after the Mancubus exploded in a shower of gore. I then threw the two blade towards the heart of the machine that powered the machine. At the moment that it touched the magical artifact it caused a wave of hell magic to pass through us causing the two companions to fall on the floor and me to stagger back at the pure Malice that assaulted my senses. it took me a moment for me to recover but when we did we heard the unmistakable sound of thousands of ponies charging. I took one look at my companions and then took off to meet Twilight and Luna at the front gates, but I dreaded the fact that soon I will most likely be the last human left on the planet of Faust. Luna's Pov I steeled myself as I walked up to the ledge that makes the impromptu stage to give one last speech before we finally overcome the monster of our making. I notice The Penitent One joining me but I ignore her and displeasure with the subject of my speech. "Hello ladies and gentlecolts, today we are gathered here to fight off a threat. A threat that many of you rightly fear and I too have the same fear, but as I found out through my long lived life it is not the absence of fear that makes us brave, but instead it is having fear and overcoming it for the right cause and let me assure all of you that we are truly on a just path for today we a facing an enemy that not only is more evil then all the foes we have faced put together but we face an enemy that has destroyed our life's, our loved one's, and has seriously injured if not killed our national hero's so that we may not stop him. But today we show the so called Perfect Hatred that united we are unbeatable, Together we can do feats that even we think are are impossible, TOGETHER WE CAN RESTORE PEACE AND HARMONY. LONG LIVE EQUESTRIA!" as to punctuate my statement a shattering is heard throughout the cavern that signaled the charge. As I step back from the cliff edge to sounds of "long live equestria" being spoken from every lip I turn to The Penitent One to notice that even though she wears a mask, her disapproval radiates from her every pore. "I noticed how you never said about how this was our fault." she say with malice dripping from her every word. "Yes and one day they shall learn but now we must meet with Gregory to finish what we have started." I said with finality and took off to do as I said. Gregory's Pov As I drew my sword from the remaining broken spider demon I notice Luna and Twilight land to the side of me. We all looked at each other and I kicked down the gates that led to the castle proper. As we made our through the castle we all expected for the castle to be filled with demons but it was empty. The other things we all noticed as continued on our trek was that any and all items depicting Celestia, Luna, or the main six have been violently destroyed. The emptiness and destruction continued until we got to the throne room and saw Jason with only his face covering off staring outside towards Canterlot. "So you have finally arrived, and you brought the traitor and the hypocrite with you." Jason said with a melancholic nearly bored voice. "Yes but we don't need to fight just let me banish the dark entity that controls your mind." I pleaded with him "You know if I had just been offered some of that kindness when I first arrived, Instead of being treated like the monster I have now become this would never happened." as he paused I could see twilight start crying. "but now I know that you have chosen the side that beat me, humiliated me, and LIED TO ME!" he says as he turns towards us and I see a scar running down his eye, but instead of being completely white it is instead a dark purple with a bright purple spot being his pupil. "you have to die." In a instant his face mask rematerialized and he blitzed towards me at nearly imperceivable speed, but I reacted just in time and dodged to the left. deciding not to let him control the pace of battle I try to slash down but I am intercepted and I feel a boot land on my chest. I do a backflip and land back on my feet if not a distance from Jason and look back towards him to see that already he has dealt with Luna and Twilight and a barrage of blades thrown at me. I parry them away from me and the bewildered Alicorns. I keep moving forward through this attack until I am right in his face. I go for a lunge towards him, but it was a carless move for I see that he held his blade pointed down straight towards me. I try to backpaddle and feel as if I am doomed, but the sting never comes as the blade sinks into his chest. I Stumble backwards as I had not expected him to not deal an attack and I watch as he stumble backwards and down to his knees. Jasons/Perfect Hatreds pov I notice the bitch first and then the naive human along with the hypocrite. Just the sight of her makes my blood boil and I welcome them but all the while the Nightmare is speaking in my head. "Enough of this foolishness we must destroy the enemy before they get a chance to finish-" The entity tries to say but while I am speaking but is interrupted when the Human says his piece. Both me and the entity are baffled by this proclamation that we stand silent for a moment, but it is soon overcome by barely contained rage with something else that I can't quite put my finger on. I never truly move past this confusion even when my anger spikes when I remember what they have done to me, even when I make my attacks against my enemy, and even when I feel the satisfaction of kicking The hypocrite into the traitor. I continue on the attack until I remember what it that emotion I had been feeling was. It was Empathy. The shock and shame that hit me when I realized that I had forgotten left me defenseless for a single moment, but all it took was that single moment for me to feel a sharp pain coming from my gut. "YOU IDIOT WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!" I heard the entity scream in my ear. "NOW GIVE ME COMPLETE CONTROL SO I CAN DEFEAT THES VERMIN!" "no" I thought back to the parasite "No? NO! OH OH HO! You must have thought that was a question when in fact. IT WAS A COMMAND!" I felt a massive headache form and almost like I was falling asleep and as this happened and I struggled to stay awake I had a thought that filled me with dread. This nightmare is a parasite that feeds off of negative emotion, then I have been giving it the feast of godamned lifetime. "Good good go to sleep and once you wake up you will be one step closer to you're revenge." The host whispered in my head before I eventually lost consciousness. Gregory's pov As I fully recognized what I had done I tried to say something but I was soon interrupted by a sound coming from Jason himself " ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Perfect Hatred started and all I could do was was stand back in shock but that was not all it did as it tore off the helmet. I saw that underneath the helmet was a purple looking devil creature and it proceeded to slide the sword out of its gut. I knew the moment Hatred took off its helmet Jason had truly died so I prepared myself to face this mockery of a human, but I was not prepared enough as the thing flew towards me grasping my head as I was dragged across the floor. After is dragged me all the way to the entrance It then proceeded to smash my head into the marble once, twice, thrice, and finally with the fourth time the demon manage break through the floor. We must have gone to a guest room because I landed on a mattress breaking it. I didn't have time to get my bearings as I was tossed through a glass door onto a balcony. I saw Perfect Hatred start to walk up to slowly and so I tried to throw one of my blades but in a move that was so fast I couldn't even keep track of it I saw Hatred dodge it. "Ohh I am going to love hearing you scream." Hatred said in a voice that sounded like two voices speaking at once and pressed down with it's boot onto my chest. I screamed as I could feel that my bones were beginning to break, I screamed as my heart was being crushed, and I screamed as I saw the end ever approaching. But it never came as suddenly the boot was lifted off my chest. I looked to the demon to find that it had one of my swords sticking out of its chest, with Twilight with sword in hoof hanging off the beast. "I failed one Human but I will not fail another." she said as she fell to the ground unconscious I watched in astonishment as the beast fell and slowly transformed back into Jason and crawl to the ledge. I got up slowly and sat next to him as he coughed up blood. "I forgive you." he said with a tiredness beyond his years. "its a beautiful sunset isn't it" he said as the life drained from him and soon his eyes too died. As I sat there listing to the cheers a song started to play and I picked him up. I saw the destruction I had made of the thrown room and the pain Jason expressed through his destruction of the castle. I walked passed goblins who once they saw that their master was dead fled the area. Once I reached the gate I flew. as I flew I saw ponies who celebrated that they had been freed from the tyranny of Perfect Hatred. Sights of that continued until I was too high up to see any pony's and I still flew higher. I flew until I reached the tops. I then gathered wood and started arraigning them and finally once I gathered all the wood I set Jason upon the pyre and I lit it and then the guilt hit me "WHY WHHYYY WHYYYYYY!!!!!!" I yelled out demanding answers with my tears running like a broken damn down my face but knowing that I would never get them. I laid there weeping even when Twilight showed up and offered her own, When Luna came and told of her shame at never having checked on him and at her responsibility for the storming of the castle, even Celestia showed up and offered her guilt at sending him to die in that god forsaken town, And even after the star came up and the moon trailed across the skies I laid there weeping but as all things I eventually ran out of tears to shed and I looked upon the coming dawn with sadness for I knew that I had damned my self to eternal life of loneliness. Author's Note And that is the end to this story and a end to one that I enjoyed writing at the very least. but this is not my last foray into Jason verse as I have a new story that is set in the Emperor Jason timeline that I hope you all will enjoy. but until next time goodbye and if I never see you again good morning, good afternoon, and good night thank you.
