Chapter 1

     It was yet another normal day for Twilight Sparkle. She read a bit, practised her magic, hang out with her friends and went for a stroll. everything was as it should be. When she arrived home she found Spike crying and clutching a letter. "Whats wrong Spike?" she asked. He just passed her the letter newspaper clipping. It read:

Twilight and Moonlight have been found dead. It seems they were stabbed to death with a knife by another pony. So far we have recovered no evidence toward who the killer is. Police have studied this case to its end and have given up on it for lack of evidence.

'Mom... and dad... dead...' She thought as she began to cry. ' What's worse is the police just gave up. For 7 months now ponies have been found dead. It's practically all that's in the news now and every time the police give up on lack of evidence. There has to be some way to fix this world. 1st it was Moondancer, then Lyra and now my parents. I cant let any more of the ponies I love die because Princess Celestia refuses to do anything about it. I need to find a way'. "Spike I'm going for a walk." she said walking out of the front door then running through town until she got away. Then she lay down by a tree and proceeded to cry her eyes out.

     Suddenly she saw something. It was falling. It was what looked to be a black notebook. It landed in front of her. Death Note was written on the cover. She levitated it over and opened it up to the 1st page:

-The pony whose name is written in this notebook will die.

-The note will not take effect unless the user has the subjects name in there mind. Therefore people sharing the same name will not be effected.

-The Death Note will never effect a victim there name has been misspelled 4 times.

-When the same name is written in two Death Notes the one that had the name written first will take effect regardless of the time of death.

-If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of the name it will happen.

-If the cause of death is not specified the victim will simply die of a heart attack.

-If the time of death is specified within 40 seconds of the name it will happen.

-After writing the cause and time of death details of the death can be specified within six minutes and 40 seconds.

-You can write the cause and time of death before the name adding that at a maximum of 19 days(In the pony calender) later.

-Suicide is a perfectly valid cause of death as, while not likely, it is something some ponies will do and is not completely out of the question.

-The Death Note can only operate within 23 days(In the pony calender). This is called the 23 day rule.

     'Is this for real? Or is it somepony trying to play a joke on me? I'll take it just in case' She thought and then proceeded to stuff it into her saddlebag. The then trotted off home. When she got in Spike passed her another newspaper clipping.

It read:

Shadow Slash

Has been found guilty of the murder of Twilight and Moonlight. He has been sentenced to 10 years in imprisonment in the castle in the Everfree Forest.

'Only 10 years? What? HE MURDERED 2 PONIES AND HE ONLY GOT 10 YEARS IMPRISONMENT? WHAT!?!?!?!?!' She screamed in her mind. She went upstairs and locked her bedroom door. She took out the Death Note.'If I were to...No! That would make me just as bad as him. Killing is wrong no matter what! Then again, this book is just a joke. There is no magic anywhere in Equestria that can kill. I can just use this thing to keep tabs on criminals that deserve death. That way I can talk to Princess Celestia at a later date and she may think about extending there sentence. I guess there's no harm in writing it down...'

She then put down the notebook and went to bed.

     The next day Spike woke here up early and showed her yet another newspaper clipping. It read:

While being taken to the Everfree Forest castle last night, Shadow Slash died of what seems to be a heart attack. The cause of this is unknown and the police have no way of tracking this death. It is believed to be a coincidence, however unlikely that is.

'It worked? That thing is for real? What? No! I...I'm a murderer. I'm just as bad as he was now! But how? This is impossible!..What will I do I... wait. People like him deserve to die. If I only kill people who commit crimes then  it isn't bad. They should be killed anyway. They don't deserve to let Equestria rot!... I know what I have to do. I have to use this notebook to cleanse this world of evil. Equestria will rot no more.'

     "I think its about time I got going." Kira said to himself before sprouting his wings and dropping into the portal.

The next day Twilight hurried home after going about her daily routine."Hey Twilight. You want anything?" Spike asked as she rushed past.

"No thanks" She said running up to her room and locking the door."I've already got what I need." She whispered to herself levitating the Death Note out of a draw and placing it on her desk. Twilight proceeded to look through the list of the worst criminals that had been caught.

"Hahahahaha" Twilight chuckled to herself as she stared at the page. That was most of the major criminals that had had there names released to to the public. They were all dead. All of them. 'Soon people will know something or someone is killing these criminals. When that happens all crime will stop and this world will be pure again'.

"Well well I see you've taken quite a liking too it" a Voice spoke from behind her. She turned to see a large black and red bipedal monster will 1/2 it's face grey and the other half a skull.

"AAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!" Twilight said shooting magic at it. It had no effect.

"Don't bother. I'm a god, you cant hurt me. Anyway, That notebook of yours used to be mine." It said."By the way, names Kira"

"So why are you here? Are you here to get your notebook back?" She asked

"No. I dropped here on purpose. Our realm is so boring. I thought I might as well have a little fun. And judging by what you've done with my notebook, I couldn't of made a better choice on who to give it too. After all you've taken such a liking to it you've already started killing pony in other regions such as Japony."

"What do you mean?"

"Your exactly like I was as a mortal. Smart and have a strong sense of justice. In fact, you've gone and done the exact same thing I did when I had my death note. The only difference is I'm going to help you, unlike my shinigami, and you're going to succeed, unlike me. I would of succeeded too if it weren't for the mistakes of my helpers." He explained."Together we will free the world of evil and make it rot no more.  We will become justice."
