The Traveling Horseman
The Arrival
Load Full StoryNext Chapter''Map! Open a portal! Quickly!'' A man on a horse yelled as he was getting away from his death. Looking back over his shoulder he saw a giant lizard like creature chasing him. ''I shouldn't wake that thing up!''
Turning his head forward, he saw his eagle friend disappearing in a purple flash. As the shining energy spread out in a circle, a portal appeared in front of him with the same purple color. Wasting no time, he patted his horse to run faster.
The horse did as it was instructed and quickened his speed.
They reached the black and purple hole and the portal disappeared. Leaving a giant, hungry and really pissed lizard stomping on the ground, where it's dinner supposed to be.
It reared up and screamed angrily. Stomping down it's huge claws, it turned around and went back to it's home... without food of course...

A bright green field with flowers. A beautiful sigh. So clean and relaxing.
The sun was burning and making that day even brighter. Around that field, trees blocked the view, but the sun's light went trough the leaves, making the forest bright inside too.
A pair of birds landed on a tree branch. Singing merrily to the oh so nice day, the two sat there. They had all the time in the world. So easy life, no trouble.
Then out of nowhere, a portal opened in the middle of that field. The two bird flew away as the purple and black portal grew larger and out stepped a running horse. On it's back, a hooded man sat and held into the horse's strap.
He took some deep breath, while the portal disappeared behind him. His grey furred horse kept his green, glowing eyes fixed on nothing. But as it's head looked forward, we could say it gazed forward.
''Alright!'' Spoke up the man and looked around. He saw the nice field with colorful flowers and the trees around him. He totally ruined the peace of that moment.
He took some deep breath, smelling the fresh air and the scent of the flowers. ''There are plants there, apples on the trees and I can smell. That means this new world have oxygen...'' He looked up at the sun shining at his dark form. ''It has light too. So that means, I have to find shelter before night falls.''
After he finished with his note to self, he raised his hand and it started glowing. A soundless magical explosion happened inside his hand and with a flash of purple light, an eagle appeared and landed on his wrist.
''Map, have a look around!'' The man told the eagle and it did as he said. The eagle named 'Map' flew up high and flew to random directions. It's owner watched for a second than pulled twice on the strap. His horse started walking slowly, following the eagle wherever it went.
The man started looking around again. ''What else do we have here?'' He thought. ''I saw a few birds in the forest. So there IS life- I mean animals in this land or planet... More like a planet, or gravity wouldn't hold me down to the ground...'' He spotted a long wall of rock to the left and some mountain far away. ''Okay... this is not just a plain planet. Hills, mountains, fields, forests can be found here. Hm... that means water can be found here too. And I can see a few clouds up above..''
And sure enough, he saw some massive clouds above him. ''A bit thick for that small size.'' He commented, but shrugged it off and continued riding on his horse. That's when his eagle returned. It flew in front of him and turned into a scroll. The man grabbed the scroll in mid air and rolled out. It was an unfinished map. It showed the hills, mountains, lakes, rivers and forests nearby. Only a small area was revealed, the rest of it was blank paper.
''Go, look for something in the sky!'' The man said and the eagle flew off.
After a few moments, the horseman heard his eagle shriek and he looked up. The eagle few slightly lower and in another purple flash, it disappeared. As the purple energy disappeared, it revealed a castle built on the side of a mountain.
''A castle!'' Exclaimed the man. ''Alright! Our first destination is that castle. Go Sprint!'' And the horse started running fast or sprinting if we stick to it's name. It's mane and tail glowed in green flames. The hooves left a trail of flaming, green hoofsteps and then they died out, leaving only huge hoof marks in the ground. Even if it did looked scary, it was still breathtaking to watch a horse like that.
The man held tight into the straps with one hand and he casted a spell with the other. Another scroll appeared in his hand in a purple aura and his eagle stopped glowing in that same purple aura. He watched as the map revealed more than last time. He saw as the edges of the discovered places expand. Whenever the eagle's vision caught sign of a hill, field or lake, the map shoved the same thing in a mini version.
His eagle shrieked once again. As it disappeared like last time, behind the purple flash of light, a town could be seen. A small town with houses. Made from hay, wood and stone. But what our horseman found exiting was: ''Sentients...''
He pulled the strap to the right. ''Sprint! Let's see what we can find in that town.'' The horse neighed and turned slightly right, heading to the towns direction. The man looked at his map while the eagle reveled more things for him and making them visible on the paper.

The horseman jumped off his horse as it was still sprinting. Aiming his flaming green hand at the horse, it disappeared in the ground, like those machines in the water. ''How did the humans called them? Submarie? No! Sub... sub... submachine?'' He wondered and kept walking towards the town.
He found a dirt road that led to the town. So he followed it, map in his hands. He looked over the road and saw the town in the distance. From time to time, he glanced down at his map. His paper revealed details about this new land. A good amount of the paper already shoved mountains, forests and that little town too. The paper was nearly full, but that did not bothered the hooded traveler. ''This land must be huge. The paper is nearly full. Looks like I need to make this smaller...'' And he did that. The already revealed parts of this land became smaller so the paper now had a lot of space again. ''There we go.''
He didn't wanted to use his horse for this little walk. He spent most of the time sitting on his horse so his legs needed a little stretch. Besides... ''I should just walk in. What if they never seen a flaming horse, they will probably freak out at the sign of a big and scary horse.'' As he said that, the talisman on his legs gloved for a second and he heard his horse neighing. ''Don't worry Sprint. After I confronted them you can come out. Rest for now!''
He was closer to the town, so he called to his eagle. ''Map!'' It flew down to him and disappeared. The mens eyes started glowing in purple and his vision became more better. He closed one eye and like a binocular, he could make out forms in the town.
''Quadrupeds? Finally a more friendly looking race. Maybe they wouldn't be that scared from Sprint after all.'' He chuckled and continued walking. He examined the town a bit more. ''Multicolored horses. I wonder how they built houses like this. The decoration looks similar to the ones I saw in the humans world and at my first visited world. Oh I never forget-... I forgot how is that world called....'' He chuckled at himself and kept looking at the town. ''An ordinary day. Looks peaceful and they seem friendly. Looks like it's going to be easier than I-...''
He was cut off as he heard a loud explosion from his left. He looked at the direction and saw a wave of rainbow going across the land. It went trough the man and he felt a nice feeling from it. And he couldn't help but smile at this. ''How could those shadows be scared from rainbows. So deadly creatures and they don't like this? Next time I go there, I use the power of warm rainbows...'' He laughed at the silly thought and used the eagle's eye to see what caused that explosion.
''Are these explosions normal in that world? Or that's how they fight? With rainbows...'' He mused and saw a black dot approaching him fast. Too fast. It left a trail of rainbow and he saw a pair of magenta eyes. Those eyes showed panic as they filled the vision of the man. He dismissed the eagle's eyes and saw the thing only a few feet away from him
Still going too fast...
''OH NOT AGAIN!'' He screamed and the thing crashed into him.
While he and that rainbow thing rolled a few feet, he thought. ''Maybe this place is dangerous...''
Soooo here we are. The first chapter. And the first story that I write in third person. It feels different writing like this. I got used to the 'I' s and 'My' s. But if I would write this one in first person, you would think I'm really egoistical... what am I saying. Of course you already know that. But what can i say? I can't find the middle way between pumping my ego or be shy. Pleasedon'thurtme! *MEP*
Also, this fic will be more difficult. I just wanted this beginning out of my head, but then I ran out of ideas. So expect chapters coming out slowly.
That's it for now, I hope you enjoyed, leave a comment about the character and please... please don't complain about marie sue things. I still can't understand what is ACTUALLY means. 'Oh! Another overpowered OC from you? Thumbs down! MUHHAHHAA!' No, just please no thumbs down for overpowered OC. And just saying, in this fic... it's hard to say, but... I actually did not make the flank kicker character like in Dhuradhan In Equestria. That story is my main project for the summer and-... oh wait. I'm talking about something else. Well that's it for now.
Good bye!
