The Traveling Horseman
Revealing Memories Pt. 2: Two Fighters Against The Past
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe next thing Luna saw made her confused. She was in some kind of cave, but not a natural one. It was like somepony curved it out. There was some kind of altar on the far side of the cave. Leading up to that altar were footmarks, splitting the room to two place. But the footmarks were strange, like those humanoids weren't wearing boots. Traveler talked about this to her and she assumed that the humanoids weren't wearing boots. But the question was why? The floor was so hard, they needed boots to walk comfortable on those stones.
But as she examined the footmarks, she saw some drops of blood. ''What happened here?'' She thought.
She turned to the altar, which was glowing in red, because of the crimson candles. Unknown symbols were painted on the wall, behind the altar... with blood...
Chains were hanging from both sides of the altar and even more, bloody and rusty chains everywhere in the cave.
The whole place was terrifying for Luna...
''AH!''
''EEP!''
Luna yelped and turned around. There was Traveler, sitting on the floor. He was breathing heavily, his eyes wide like he had a nightmare. He was in his robe, which he was wearing when he appeared in Equestria.
Luna looked behind him and saw several dead bodies, bloody and of course... dead. The bodies had only one lethal injury, but they still looked horrible. Some of them had their skin cut down, some had limbs missing, teared open jaws or chests. Some of them didn't even have skin, nor flesh. Just the skeletal structure.
She saw creatures, like those followers or a few winged bipedal. Many other kind of dead creature, each one was some kind of bipedal too, but had spikes covering their body, claws, wings and horns.
But most importantly... all of them looked terrible...
''AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!''
Luna jumped again and Traveler slowly turned towards the shout, still looking terrified...
There was another human, like Traveler. He was wearing some kind of dark and 'combined clothing'. Luna never saw such a thing like a hood, attached to a long-sleeved shirt. And she never saw a zipper on a long-sleeved shirt neither. But it looked like it makes up to its work, as the hood covered the upper side of the man's face. From under the black 'hooded sleeve shirt' , came up a grey scarf, covering his nose and mouth.
Luna made a note to self: She will ask Traveler later that, why do humans like him hide their faces with masks and hoods...
The man also wore black trousers, made by some really soft material. And the end of his trousers were tucked behind his grey boots. On his boot, a knife strapped to it's side, just like Traveler has one there too... another thing to ask from Traveler...
The tip of his fingers were sticking out from his black gloves, another thing that Luna never saw before... but she had to agree, they looked cool. Maybe she will get something like that...
She could see something sticking out from under his sleeves. It was around his wrists, so she assumed it was some kind of armor.
While Luna was examining the two's cloths, Traveler calmed down. The same couldn't be said from the other man.
He started breathing harshly, his hands formed into fists and he stood up. ''YOU SON OF A BITCH! I'M GONNA KILL YOU! UGH!'' He shouted and kicked away a corpse's head, sending blood around him.
In his rage, he harshly pulled down his mask and bobbed his head back, making the hood to fall down from his head. Now Luna could see his face...
He had shorter hair than Traveler and it was brown. His hair length on his front reached the middle of his forehead. It must have been 7 cm long and most of his hair was brushed towards the left side.
He had blue and green eyes. The right one was blue and the left one was green. Luna was familiar with that kind of thing from Equestria. Some ponies have this problem with their eyes, jet this one was different.
The eye color problem was because of the energy inside him...
Luna shook away the bad memories. She knew what happened to this human. The same happened to her, when she turned into Nightmare Moon...
And the signs were visible on his snarling expression...
His teeth were somewhat sharper than Travelers, but they were the same specie! Lune repeatedly tried to not think about her past. ''No! You went through this and you can't stop his transformation neither! It's just a dream...''
Traveler slowly stood up and tried to say something. But the man already stomped to the altar and started running his eyes through the thing. He placed his fingers on some relics, blew out the candle and he waited. Like he was expecting something to happen. After a few seconds, he stepped closer to the altar and touched the symbol.
After a few seconds of waiting for something, he shouted one and head butted the wall. He stayed like that for a short moment, bent forward and blood trickling down on his face and the wall. In his anger, he slammed his fist onto the altar, making the relics fall to their sides.
''He got away!'' He said, turning back to Traveler. ''He. Got. AWAY!''
Traveler calmly spoke up. ''We can still catch him.''
The man wasted no time and stormed out from the cave. Traveler quickly caught up with him. ''What did he put you through? Mine was a memory from the past...'' Traveler asked him, but the man stayed silent and continued snarling.
They stepped out from the cave and Luna found herself on a beach. The cave entrance was hidden between the rocks, facing towards the waves. She looked higher and saw the top of a vulcan. Lava was flowing out from it's crater and the earth was rumbling from it's eruption.
There was a huge ship on the edge of the shore. It's sails were white, blue lines decorated it's sides, along with the cannons and side cannons on the deck. (She didn't know what they were...)
There were some cheering and singing inside the ship, like the crew was having a celebration...
''There he is!'' The man pointed towards a silhouette, far away from the shore.
They wasted no time and jumped down from the entrance, both of them rolling in the sand, to ease their landing. After glancing back, the man hummed and spoke up. ''He left the gates... completely abandoning his duty and now he leaves no signs behind. We have to catch that coward, or he opens another gate somewhere else...''
While Traveler's eyes started to glow in purple, to inspect the fleeing ship, the man rushed towards the ship on the shore and slammed against it. The cheering stopped for a moment, then continued. But when both Traveler and the man slammed against the ship, the whole thing was ready to go.
The two ran to the side of the ship, pulling out the ropes from the ground, which were preventing the ship to move away from the beach. Both of them climbed onto the ship and the drunken crew immediately snapped to attention.
Traveler was about to give the orders, but the man started shouting first. ''What the fuck are you all doing here, staring at me like nothing happened?! FULL SAIL AFTER THAT SHIP, NOW!''
The sailors quickly started working, pulling and loosening on the ropes. The captain went up to the wheel and started shouting orders too. Traveler saw their unhappiness and decided to cheer them up. ''If we catch that rat, you all have the whole ship and it's treasures!''
The whole ship roared from excitement and they started doing their job even faster. Traveler chuckled lightly and turned towards his teammate. But he wasn't there, but at the front of the ship. Traveler walked up to him and did the same thing like the man.
Watch the fleeing ship...
Traveler glanced at him from time to time, watching his anger rising. The man was looking deadly at the ship in the distance, his fists gripping the thin air. Traveler sighed and spoke up.
''You look angrier than ever.'' He pointed out.
''And you're surprised? That bitch just fucked our minds and got away. Why the fuck shouldn't I be angry?'' The man pointed out, flashing a snarl at Traveler.
The two continued watching the ship in the distance, in silence. Than the man growled. ''He made me do it...''
Traveler turned to him, waiting for him to continue.
''He made me fucking do it... He knew I can do it and EXPECTED ME to do it!''
''And what did he force you to do exactly?'' Traveler asked, sounding curious and somewhat uncomfortable. Luna assumed he was still shaken by the events back at that cave, but he was actually afraid of the man's words.
After some silence, the man answered...
''He... he put me through a test... live or die. And you know what would have happened if I die in my head.''
''You lose your soul.'' Traveler said, eyes wide.
''Exactly... and he wasn't just torturing me with physical assaults or some fucking mind games, no. He wanted to know how much humanity I lost already... AND SO, THAT SICK SON OF A BITCH ... used her!''
''Who?''
''... a girl...''
Traveler fully turned towards him, his face showed pure shock and disgust. ''What... did you have to do?'' He asked the man, slowly.
The man's once calmed posture changed in a second, as he slammed his fist into the hand rail of the ship. ''I KILLED HER, ONLY TO SEE HIM DISAPPEARING RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE!'' The sailors looked at the man, then quickly went back to work, not wanting to get killed by the angry human. ''DO YOU HAVE ANY FUCKING IDEA HOW DOES IT FEEL?! TO DRINK THE BLOOD OF AN INNOCENT?! TO SEE HER FACE, AS YOU END HER LIFE?! HER SOUL, LOOKING AT YOU BROKEN AND FILLED WITH SORROW?!
I. BROKE. MY. OWN. RULE! I NEVER KILLED AN INNOCENT SOUL AND THAT BITCH FUCKING MADE ME DO IT!''
Traveler closed his eyes, starting to regret his question and cursed his curiosity. The man's snarl reached it's full size, his teeth showing it's slightly sharp edges. Under his furrowed eyebrows, eyes looking deadly at Traveler. His arms were trembling, as he couldn't tighten his fists any stronger. As the man's sharp breathing continued, along with his shouting, ''Listen up!'' he turned around and the crew snapped at attention, looking at him and expecting their deaths. ''I want to catch up with that ship, THEN KILL EVERYONE ON THE BOARD! No mercy, no sorry and absolutely fucking NOTHING! Am I clear, or I have to beat my orders inside your brains?!''
Even if the man looked intimidating, all the sailors pulled out their rusty swords and cheered. This was probably the best day in their lives. Sailing, hunting, killing and most importantly... treasures.
Traveler walked next to the man and placed a hand on his shoulder, making him to turn around and look at him. ''What are you doing Dhuradhan? What about the Balance? If he dies, the war between The Light and Hell just becomes more violent.'' Traveler explained.
''Ha! It can't get any more violent. It IS already violent as fuck! I... want to kill him and make him suffer. I get his eyes, so no one... EVER have to experience such agony.'' The man named Dhuradhan, told to Traveler.
''And what about you? The Avatar supposed to hold his or her own Balance too. But now you are leaning to the Dark side.''
Dhuradhan stepped closer to him, looking right into his eyes. ''Maybe I'm on my Dark side... but I still do this for the Balance... And you know that too.'' He pointed out.
''What are you talking about?'' Asked Traveler, confused.
Dhuradhan laughed. ''Like you don't know that I heard what you did...''
Traveler lowered his head, looking seriously at him. ''Go on!''
Dhuradhan motioned for him to follow him and both of them walked to the main mast of the ship. That's when Luna got to know what is under his sleeves. Dhuradhan cut half a rope, which came out from above his fist. It looked like Traveler's claws, but not as long as his and it had two, curved blade, not three talons to climb. She knew it was a combat weapon, not a supportive tool.
As he cut the rope, it started to go up and he quickly grabbed it, lifting himself onto the top of the mast. He moved to the right side of the sail, crouching all the while. He watched as Traveler did the same thing and went after him.
The two stood on the right side of the sail, watching the sun setting. Luna was about to rise the moon, when she remembered that it was just a dream. And that's where a question popped into her head: ''Who controls the sun here?'' Though, she heard that from Traveler, that only Equestria can control their sun and moon. But she was still curious about that. What if there is another world like Equestria, or dimension?
She decided to pounder about this later, since the two started to talk again...
''I must say, your first breaking point just brought me a good future.'' Dhuradhan started.
''What do you mean?''
''Floya'... I know what happened to her...''
Traveler looked at him, shocked and somewhat hurt in the inside. ''How?''
Dhuradhan looked at him and reached inside his 'hooded sleeve shirt' (Luna doesn't know what a hoodie is...) and pulled out a really familiar cross. Both Luna and Traveler gasped. ''Captain Martin's blood tainted this cross... MY cross... her power was enough to re-learn all of my light abilities and send the Captain to...'' Dhuradhan patted his right shoulder. ''... Hell... if you know what I'm trying to explain...''
''You got his soul?'' Blurted out Traveler.
''I found no use of his soul, so I sent him to the Lord of the Hell.''
''You did WHA-''
''Shut it! I don't want to scare the crew, so stay quiet!'' Traveler nodded and Dhuardhan continued. ''Believe me when I say... that punishment is far better than just trap him in The Scythe.''
Traveler stared at him for a few moments, the sighed. ''Alright, you know what you have to do. I am no Light, nor a Dark and I am certainly not the Death itself...''
Dhuradhan chuckled, finding his choice of words amusing. ''The point is, your action started this HUGE coincidence. Up there, the Elders thought they can hide my cross inside the Captain, since no one defeated him yet. Hehhe... but not from me... he even failed to hide his own identity. The cross was the key for me, to cure myself out from my own shit hole. And if you wouldn't humiliate him-''
''I did not do that!'' Protested Traveler. ''That was because of the 'Breaking Point' , not to find satisfaction in making him feel the pain.''
Dhuradhan smirked, evilly. ''And you know what? When I reach my OWN breaking point, I WILL find that satisfaction in torturing that sick fuck.''
Traveler looked like he wanted to talk him down from that, but he decided to just warn him. ''You're not gonna be able to sleep for a long time... even if you won't take those eyes.''
''The Observers Eyes of the Sinner...'' Started Dhuardhan.
Traveler continued. ''... enchanted by the Balance Elders, many years ago...''
''... and they gave it to an empty soul...'' Dhuardhan.
''... to see whose soul is Light...'' Traveler.
''... and whose Dark...'' Closed his eyes Dhuardhan.
''This empty soul is the Gatekeeper...'' Traveler continued.
''... whose purpose in life is to chose the wrong souls...''
''... and lead them to the Limbo...''
''You shall fear from these eyes...'' Started the next line Dhuardhan.
''Or you get mind fucked!''
The two looked to their left, seeing the captain. He wasn't even trying to keep his balance on the sail, like it was an average thing to do. He was talking in a strange accent, like every other pirate captain. ''Good news warriors! This beauty is FAR prettier than that ghost ship. That witch is nothing against my darling, so we should be able to raid that wreck in a few days. Why don't you two join us down there? You two look like those sneaky ninja invaders from the modern sea...'' The captain explained, adjusting his pirate hat.
Traveler wanted to say something to Dhuardhan, but he was faster... again. ''Leave me alone for now! I need some time to think, to plan and prepare. I'll join you later...'' And with that, he jumped to the other sail, a few meters away from them and climbed to the top. There, he settled down, crouching on the very top of the mast.
Traveler sighed and decided to drink some. He wanted to forget about the past and look forward the future. He also liked traveling on ships too. He doesn't have to hold onto Sprint's straps, so he wont fall down. The sound of waves hitting the side of the boat was calming and the scenery was simply beautiful.
But the best thing was the company...

As Traveler went down under the deck, where the cabins and dining area were, the catching music already made him forget about the past events and went to drink with the crew.
Luna watched Dhuradhan for a few minutes, as he was talking to... someone else...
It was really strange for her, but soon understood his situation. ''His dark self is talking to him... but looks like he is the one who controls his thoughts. It's still an unstable situation and really dangerous. And after what happened to this two, his emotions must have been shattered... just... like... mine...''
Luna quickly snapped herself out from her thoughts. She decided to try and forget about her past... by joining the celebration down the deck.
The music was catchy and she found herself singing too. Even dancing as an invisible ghost, bringing her amusement and she giggled all the time. Sadly, she couldn't drink with them, but seeing Traveler, finally enjoying his dream or more like his memory, she was happy...
This is how two days of chasing went by. Traveler had fun with the crew, Luna checked on Dhuradhan, who always stayed on top of the mast and she went back to Traveler's side, watching him. In daylight, he was on board and helped the crew, then at night, he and everyone else had a party. Except Dhuradhan, who looked like he was suffering from insomnia...
Since Luna was in Traveler's dream/memory, she was able to stay awake all the time. After everyone went to sleep, she always found a good place on the sails and a few meters away from Dhuradhan. No matter how much she wanted to forget about her past, she wanted to see him, going through the same thing like her. She wanted to know, how will he deal with the situation and if he can survive it.
Every night, she listened as he was talking to someone... someone named Dhanthas. She soon found out that HE was the one, who helped defeating Sombra... or at least, he has some kind of connection with that person.
This made her more curious and spent just as much time watching him as watching Traveler. And when she just wanted to sit and watch, she choose the basket on top of the main mast. She spent hours, watching the sun rising, setting and the moon rising and setting. It was so strange for her, because she didn't have to use her magic to lower the moon or rise it. It just went up on it's own and that made her feel kinda strange...
On the last night, Dhuradhan stirred. ''FINALLY!'' Thought Luna and watched him gliding down from the mast. He left a black and blue trail of energy behind him. Luna immediately know what that meant. ''Hm... That is that 'Dark' energy, mixed with his own energy, which is blue. Blue energy is 'Destructive', but I only sense swiftness in him. Traveler has the same blue energy too, along with his green 'Additional' energy and his purple 'Supportive' and 'other' kind of energy. I remember everything from his lecture about energies, but his description is not correct! Is that Dhuradhan something else and Traveler too? Both of them Spirits, so they have to be the same! Does he lied to me? Looks like I have to ask him later...''
And so, Luna watched as Traveler danced and drank through the night, while Dhuradhan only sat at the bar and drank beer after beer...
Luna spent that night inside Dhuradhan's cabin, since he get knocked out next to a barrel. She thought about that two days she spent inside Traveler's memory. She was able to realize, that he is afraid of his own past. When he reached his Breaking Point, he destroyed a whole world and he doesn't want to do that again.
She also found out, that Traveler looks at Dhudadhan carefully, expecting the supernatural man to snap at any moment. She heard him saying out loud: ''God help us if he reaches a Breaking Point.'' And Luna agreed with that. Traveler has a calm mind and if he could ruin a world, then she doesn't want to see that Avatar in a state like that.
''What does he meant by, 'Breaking his own rules'? He killed a child in his mind, that's not just breaking a rule, it's unforgivable!'' She thought.
In the morning, Luna saw Traveler walking up to Dhuradhan, as he was lying on the ground. She found his position odd. He was holding his own chest, like he was in pain. Traveler also saw that and approached him more carefully. Luna and Traveler thought the same thing: ''Do not snap. Do not snap. Just. Do. Not. Snap...''
''Balance!'' Traveler stopped in front of the sleeping man.
Dhuradhan stirred and woke up, breathing harshly. ''What?'' He asked Traveler.
''Wake up, the captain wants to talk to us.'' Traveler offered him a helping hand, but Dhuradhan refused it and stood up on his own, grunting the whole time. ''Are you alright? You knocked yourself out really bad.''
''It's not the drink... from time to time, my heart just starts stinging... and that bitch gave me nightmares...'' Dhuradhan explained and stretched out, his whole backside popping several times.
''Same here...''
As they were about to go up the stairs, which lead to the top of the deck, an ear shattering 'boom' could be heard and the wall behind the two exploded. Luna jumped in fright, since she was standing right next to the wall. Though she was invincible in this memory, she doesn't know what will happen next.
The next thing Luna saw, was Traveler lying on his back, arms in front of his face. Dhuradhan was lying on the ground, face first and his left shoulder was hurt. ''What the fuck?!'' He shouted in anger and pain and both of them stood up quickly.
''WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! AGH!'' A sailor tried to ran up to the deck, when a cannon ball crashed through the side of the ship, making a hole in the wall and crushing the sailors head.
Both Traveler and Dhuradhan ignored the bloody mess on the stairs and glanced outside, through the holes. They immediately started running down the corridor behind them, the walls exploding to pieces. The two jumped into another room and the cannon balls flew over them.
To their right, the ceiling started to collapse and they jumped back against the left side. But as soon as they hit the wall, another round of cannon balls shot past them. One hit Traveler's right leg, making him to fall down and shout out in pain. And Dhuradhan got another hit on his right elbow, paralyzing his right limb too.
After they collected themselves, they hardly crawled out from the room, through the hole in the ceiling. They found themselves in the middle of a fight, as the crew tried to fight against the ghost ship and it's undead sailors.
The ghost ship fired it's projectiles, killing the pirates and the undead sailors too. The enemy crew soon noticed the two fighter on the deck, injured. With a battle cry, they charged at the two...
Luna watched Traveler, summoning Hunter and Sprint, while he called back Map and used his claws to slice down every undead in one spot. He leaned against his left leg, but he could still deal with the incoming strikes from every direction.
Dhuradhan got separated from him, since he could use his legs. He mostly kicked down the undead from the ship, or delivered a harder kick to their necks, sending their heads flying away. But sometimes, he moved around his upper body, to make his arms swing and hit the undead in the weak points. But his arms were hurt, so he stayed with the kicking and head butting.
Hunter and Sprint just crashed through the horde of undead sailors, sending body parts everywhere. Soon, the ship was cleared and Dhuradhan walked up to Traveler. Traveler needed no other words, he popped Dhuradhan's left shoulder back to it's place, making him shout in agony. After he let loose of the shout, he grabbed his own right elbow and pulled on it once. And of course, he cried out in pain again.
Then, Dhuradhan grabbed Traveler's right toe and stepped onto his belly. Traveler grabbed his leg on his belly and started pushing himself away from Dhuradhan, who pulled on his leg. And Traveler's knee popped back to it's place and they both stood up, panting.
Luna already stopped looking at them and cringed at the popping sounds of their sprained joints. She decided to examine the undead crew. Some of them had different kind of chains, going through their bodies. Some of them were just a skeleton or they looked like normal humans. Luna recognized them, as the bodies in that cave. Like they came back to life, just to kill Traveler and that Avatar.
She also examined the ghost ship, which was about to disappear in the fog. ''So that's why they couldn't react in time! The fog!'' She realized and turned back to the now ready Traveler and Dhuradhan.
''Attention!'' Dhuradhan shouted and the still alive members of their crew snapped at attention. ''We are under attack! The ghost ship is NOT invulnerable! LOAD THE CANNONS, STAND BY THE MORTARS AND KILL THE BASTARDS!''
The crew roared, eager to take their revenge. Traveler went up to the wheel, before the captain can start barking his orders. Traveler steered to the left, spinning the wheel for several seconds. ''Sharp tak to the left!''
''SHARP TAK TO THE LEFT! PULL UP THE SAILS!'' Shouted the captain louder, helping out Traveler.
The crew pulled up the sails, so the ship can turn 120 degree in place. Traveler position the wheel back to it's normal state and told the captain to let down the sails again. ''LET GO OF HER SKIRT! LET THE WIND TAKE HER FROM BEHIND!'' Shouted out the captain and Traveler chuckled at the choice of his words.
The ship picked up the wind and the ghost ship started to come back in view. ''FIRE FIRST LINE!'' Shouted Dhuradhan and the mortars on the board sent the explosive projectiles into the air. They could see the shots, hitting the ghost ship on it's back. The crew, Traveler, the captain and Luna cheered, while Dhuradhan quickly went down to his cabin.
When he came back, he was carrying some strange cannon. Luna never seen a cannon, so small and it even had a small telescope on it. He placed a box inside it and pulled back a stick on it's side. After he heard a click, he looked at the ghost ship, deadly.
''I thought you have ran out of ammo!'' Shouted down to him Traveler, chuckling a bit.
''A few bullet can fuck them up a bit! Just what I need right now!'' He shouted back and ran to the front of the ship.
Luna followed him, curious about his small 'cannon'. Dhuradhan climbed to the very front of the beam, which was sticking forward on the front of the ship and above the water, then he crouched down. He raised his weapon and looked through the scope. ''Where are you... where are you bitch?'' He muttered to himself. ''Ugh, fuck it!'' He sucked in the air and held it inside. Then he pulled on the small stick on the under side of the tool.
Again, Luna yelped in surprise, as the small 'cannon' let loose of a loud 'boom'. ''What is that thing?! It's so small and it was louder than my sister in her sleep!'' She put that on her: 'Ask Traveler Later' list.
After he fired the second shot, Luna flew closer to the ghost ship. She could see the undead at the wheel, falling to the ground and a hole in their heads. ''So he takes out the captains, preventing them to get away... I don't know if it was his idea, or his dark self's idea...'' She noted, impressed by his plan and his weapons range. ''I must ask this from Traveler. I'm sure I saw something like that in his bags, just much smaller.''
The ship caught up with the ghost ship and they turned to the left, sightly. ''GET DOWN!'' Shouted Dhuradhan, spotting the cannons of the ghost ship, as they sent another round of projectiles at them. Traveler stood still and slowed down the incoming shot in his head. He saw a single ball, coming towards him and he was sure it will hit him.
He quickly summoned his pole-ax and pointed it at the quickly approaching shot. The blade on his weapon sliced half the ball and the two pieces flew behind him, nearly hitting his head.
After the crew stood back up from their cover, they pointed their cannons at the ghost ship. ''AIM AT THE MASTS, BLOW UP IT'S HEART!'' Shouted Dhuradhan and raised his hand into the air. ''READY!'' The ship came next to the ghost ship, cannons ready to fire. ''FIRE!''
The ghost ship's masts not just fell down, but got completely destroyed, by the lot of cannon balls. The mortars, which were pointed at the backside of the ship, created a huge hole on the left side of their ship. Luna cheered and took a good look at the ghost ship.
It had dark wooden planks, which looked like they were about to fall apart. Sea herbs covered the lower side of the ship, like it spent a long time under the water. Skeletons, arms, legs, skulls and spines adorned the upper side of the ship and the whole ship had this mysterious mood. The fog didn't help Luna to calm down. Even if she was brave, the ship's appearance was the perfect picture for a horror story. (Hint, hint?)
Traveler gave the wheel back to the captain and pulled off his bow. But before he could drawn it out, Dhuradhan swiped it out from his grip, along with a single arrow. ''What are you doing?!'' Traveler shouted after him, as he started to climb up the front mast. That was the first time, when Luna saw two more blades coming out from his sleeves. They were curved and had a really similar shape, like Traveler's claws. One blade came out from the right and one from the left side of one sleeve.
He launched himself higher and higher and he was just about to stand up on the top of the mast. That's when a bullet exploded into the mast, blowing down a huge chunk and making Dhuradhan fall down. He used his 'claw blades' to stop himself from falling down and soon stopped sliding too.
''What is wrong Avatar?!'' Came an arrogant shout from the ghost ship.
Luna looked over to the ghost ship and she nearly vomited. The creature was... really ugly. It's bleeding eyes were covered with a dirty and outworn bandage. His open mouth was curved upwards, revealing his few teeth in his disgusting mouth.
His hanging skin was grey and dirty, blood marks and tore down skin. He wore a simple clothing around his waist, thankfully hiding his third limb...
From his shoulders, legs and arms, were chains hanging out, coming out from his flesh. He had no hair, no beard, no signs of growing hair at all.
He was pointing a much smaller 'cannon' at the mast, where the shot nearly hit Dhuradhan. The Avatar started to climb up again. ''Lost your Balance?!'' The horrifying creature taunted.
Dhuradhan growled and crouched down on top of the mast. There, he pulled back the string of the bow. ''YOU SON OF A BITCH!'' And he let go of the arrow...
The arrow hit the creature on his left shoulder, close to it's heart. He cried out in pain and ran away. Dhuradhan jumped over the gap, between the two ship and landed on a skeleton, breaking its bones. Traveler did the same from the deck and landed next to Dhuradhan. ''I think it's MY bow.'' Traveler told him and Dhuradhan pushed the bow into his hands and ran after the creature.
More undead swarmed out from under the deck, from the the side of the ghost ship and from the destroyed masts. Traveler summoned his weapon and started the slaughter. He sent Hunter under the deck and his growling could be heard, along with the death screams of the undead crew.
While Luna enjoyed watching Traveler, as he cut, sliced, stabbed and kicked the enemy, she couldn't help, but notice a shocking sight. Dhuradhan, on the other side of the boat, was leaving a bloody mess behind him. But that wasn't the point. Luna expected him to be a murderous, killing machine. But the way he did it...
''Are those... claws?!''
Both Dhuradhan's arms morphed into claws. It's black skin and scales were just shouting about the Dark energy he possessed. The scales were for protection on the upper and outer side of his limb, while blue veins could be seen on the under and inner side of his arms. His palm was grey and its harsh skin was soon covered in blood.
His body posture was like a beast's. His knees were higher than his rear end and he was leaning forward, to the point, where a normal spine would not be able to reach. Luna saw him crouching lower than Traveler and she assumed that he was trained for stealth. But now he broke his own record! ''If he would have a tail, then he would be considered as a dragon. No humanoid can move like this. His spine and bones... his skeletal structure must be odd.'' She noted.
And the most shocking part was how big his claws were. ''They're twice as large as Traveler's claws. And compared to his own hands, those must be three times larger. With those, he can crush my skull... even Tia's! Hmm... I wonder if he can grab things with that...'' Luna decided to check those deadly claws out, closer.
Luna flew lower and she could hear Dhuradhan's grunting, growling, shouting and cursing. He was snarling again, which gave Luna the final peace of the picture. ''Absolutely not a human. I don't even know if he's a humanoid. Traveler described the humanoids and his posture sticks out from that description... oh my, he can grab with them! Traveler, tell me he didn't hurt the ponies when he helped you!'' Luna thought to herself, as Dhuradhan lifted up an undead with one claw around its waist and brought it down on the wooden floor.
The floor broke under him and he found himself under the deck. He heard a 'clicking' sound and to Luna's shock, the scales on his left arm grew bigger. It looked like a shield, made from black, sharp scales and he turned it towards a barrel. The barrel exploded, as the ugly creature shot it with that little 'canon'.
Dhuradhan wasted no time. As his overgrown scales were shrinking back to their original size, he immediately started chasing the creature. Luna wasn't even surprised, when she saw Dhuradhan, running on all fours. ''Yes... but of course...''
Luna flew after them and she could hear the chains, dangling in the air, as the creature was running away from The Balance. He had no chance against the now enraged Avatar, since he was much faster than him. Even if he made barrels, crates or shelves, fall into Dhuradhan's way, he would dodge them, jump over them like a tiger or simply shatter them to pieces.
Suddenly, Traveler went across the corridor, an undead in his grip. He made two human sized holes in the two walls, using the undead to break through them. Luna found that amusing and she started laughing.
The sudden appearance of Traveler made the creature to take a sharp left. Dhuradhan saw that and grabbed the corner of the walls. His claws dug into the wood and that helped him to take a sharp left too, as fast as he was running before.
The creature was just at the end of the corridor and was about to turn left again, where the stairs leading up to the deck was, when Dhuradhan had enough. That was the first time, when Luna saw him using his magic, to fire a dark blue flame ball. It reminded her about Traveler's powers. He used the same kind of range attack too, a burning ball of energy.
But unlike Traveler, Dhuradhan's was smaller and faster. As it hit the creature, he crashed through the wall. Behind the wall, a small boat was hanging on the ropes, ready to leave the ship. The creature slammed against this boat and found himself inside it, when Dhuradhan jumped up and kicked him inside. The ropes couldn't take it anymore and left the boat, falling into the water. The force of Dhuradhan's kick, sent the boat a few meters away from the ship and the boat kept gaining distance.
Traveler made a hole in the floor, as he jumped up to the top of the deck. He heard the sound of splashing water and he feared the worst. Since he killed all of the undead, he focused on Dhuradhan's and the creature's whereabout. Luna was impressed to see him, defeating that many enemy. ''Now I know why he wanted me to leave, back at the castle. He was able to defeat those Followers without me... at least the fun has been doubled...'' She chuckled and landed next to Traveler.
''Oh... fuck...'' Traveler muttered and Luna followed his gaze.
Both of them looked at the single boat on the water. The creature and Dhuradhan on the same boat.
And The Avatar looked angry...
''Oh... buck...'' Said out loud Luna and followed Traveler, who found another boat and quickly started to make his way to the angry Avatar...

''Did you say something?!''
Luna and Traveler just arrived in time, to hear Dhuradhan shouting at the creature. He was beating him furiously on the head, stomach and neck. The dark red blood just flew everywhere, painting the inside of the boat to crimson.
''DID YOU FUCKING SAY SOMETHING?!'' And he punched him in the face, sending him to the bottom of the boat.
''Gatekeeper! You broke the Laws of the Balance. You took advantage on your ability and sent innocent souls to Hell, or sinners to The Light. Your punishment is lethal!'' Spoke up Traveler, watching Dhuradhan beating the life out of The Gatekeeper.
Both Luna and Traveler knew, that Dhuradhan will not give him a quick death. Though they already knew that three days earlier, the look on his face and the noises he made just convinced them even more.
''HOW DARE YOU MIND FUCK ME AND MAKE ME BREAK MY OWN FREAKING RULES?!'' Dhuradhan shouted and grabbed the chain on The Gatekeeper's left shoulder. Using his left hand to push him back, Dhuradhan pulled the chain with his right hand. The Gatekeeper screamed, as he felt the flesh inside his shoulder tearing apart.
As the chain get pulled out of him, a big hole winked back at Luna and she cringed. Not just because of the look of it, but because of the terrible scream of agony, mixed with the aggressive grunt of Dhuradhan's.
And for the second time, Luna nearly vomited. She did NOT expected Dhuradhan, to lick down the blood from the chain and bite down the meat from it. The blood of that dirty creature and he licked it down like it's tasty and chewed on his meat! Even if he still kept on snarling at The Gatekeeper, he looked satisfied. And he licked around his mouth and swallowed every drop of blood and flesh.
Traveler looked taken aback. ''You... are not just a half vampire... you're a cannibal!'' He stated.
''And thanks to you, for getting me back my cross! I can control it now!'' Dhuradhan shouted back, coiling up the chain around his right fist.
He grabbed The Gatekeeper by his left shoulder and bashed his skull with his now 'chained fist'. Luna herself, felt a slight throbbing in her forehead, as she heard the skull breaking under the third strike of the Dhuradhan's fist. He again, released him from his grip, to make him slam into the boat from the hit.
Dhuradhan let lose on the chain and grabbed it's end. He stroke The Gatekeepers neck, tearing down the skin from there and revealing the flesh. Then he let go of the chain, leaving it to fall into the water.
He morphed his arms back into their claw form and grabbed The Gatekeeper's right leg. His right claw on his shin and the left above his knee.
Luna gasp and looked away. ''Ewwhh!''
Dhuradhan, with a quick and easy motion, tore down the leg. The blood coming out from the hole, below the knee, was too much for Luna. An inch high pool of blood was already present on the bottom of the boat. The Gatekeeper trembled on the edge of the boat, his lungs still able to hold his screams.
For a moment, Dhuradhan turned his left arm back to its original form and pointed it at The Gatekeeper. Luna jumped, when she heard a loud bang and turned around. From under Dhuradhan's sleeve, a slightly visible smoke was coming out and Luna noticed his screaming target, holding his right arm.
''He... shot him?''
Luna watched, as Dhuardhan pulled lower his sleeve, to reveal some kind of bracelet. The under side of it was grey and made from some kind of metal material. The upper side looked like Traveler's wrist plates, but grey and it wasn't covered in leather. On the end of each side, she could see the curved edge of his 'claw' blades, sticking out a bit. She also noticed other holes on the end of the bracelet. ''This machine on his wrist contains two kind of blade and-''
Her thoughts were interrupted, as she saw Dhuradhan stabbing another blade into The Gatekeeper's hand, which he used to hold his shot arm. The blade came out from under his sleeve too and it was smaller than his other blades.
''Correction... three kind of blades. And if I'm right, those other holes are for his small cannons. One on both sides, above the claw blades.
The surface on the machine is strong. He can easily block a blade with that... Hmm... his equipment is for silent and hidden attacks, but he still created a huge destruction.
Traveler on the other hoof... or... other hand? Never mind, he is trained to be dangerous and he can creature huge destruction. Even if he is good in stealth, he's not as effective. Hmm... I should give him some advice hehhee...''
Meanwhile, Dhuradhan tore down the bandage from The Gatekeeper's head, revealing his closed eyes. He was about to open them and make the three suffer, when Dhuradhan growled and used his claws to tear one of his eyes out. ''You do not deserve to wield this!'' He shouted, as he teared the eye out from its place, creating a black hole, where the blood just exploded out.
Luna decided to just watch Dhuradhan and Traveler, not looking at the bloody mess, who was screaming in agony. This didn't stop Luna from cringing, as she could hear the huge amount of pain in the screams.
Terror took over The Gatekeeper's mind and wanted to open the other eye. Only for Dhuradhan, to tear that one out too. More screams and more blood, the sheer terror was unbearable for The Gatekeeper. He soon started to beg...
''P-please! You... you get nothing from killing meEEEAAAHHH!''
Dhuradhan used his right claw, to stab him in the stomach. ''Let's see what your diet is.'' He said, right into his face, gritting his teeth. As he moved his claw around, inside The Gatekeeper, he damaged the flesh, the organs and kept on looking into his 'eyes' , where a bloody hole winked back at him.
The dying Gatekeeper could only stay still, mouth agape. From his mouth, blood launched itself out, as Dhuradhan squeezed his inner body parts, sending fresh blood into the throat and mouth. The choking sounds just made Luna's stomach to do backflips, but Traveler saved her...
''It's enough!'' Spoke up Traveler, frowning at Dhuradhan.
Dhuradhan pulled out his claw from inside The Gatekeeper. A new wave of red liquid following his arm. Dark energy flowed through his right arm, like shadows and it morphed again. ''A... blade?!'' Luna blurted out inside her head.
And sure enough, a blade was at his right arm's place. From Dhuradhan's shoulder blade, a big, curved blade. If Luna had to describe how it looked like, she would say... ''A scythe...'' Where his normal body and the scythe's blade met, there were shadows connecting the two part.
The Gatekeeper heard the sound of blade, brushing against the wood. His face showed great fear and started shouting. ''NO! PLEASE NO! NOT THE SCYTHEAAAAHHHH!''
And Dhuradhan stabbed the whole blade into his mouth, silencing him. Then he placed his left leg, on the now, dead Gatekeeper's chest and kicked down his body from the blade. As he pulled back the blade, he raised it to his mouth and licked all the way up to the tip. He didn't stop there and continue licking the blood.
That's where Luna noticed something new. ''His wounds!'' Dhuradhan's wounds started to heal up, as he swallowed the blood. She also sensed his dark powers, increasing by every single drop of red liquid. ''Traveler was right, he is not just a vampire...'' Though the blood only healed his small wounds and recharged him with energy, the raw meat was like a healing spell for him. ''I hope Traveler is not like that...'' Luna shook her head, seeing the brutality and violence around her.
Dhuradhan looked down at the corpse and extended his right limb, which his blade replaced the arm. The blade started to disappear, as black smoke started to cover his whole right arm. Then this cloud of smoke, moved lower on his arm and further. It soon revealed a scythe, just as long as tall he was...
''What are you?!'' Luna shouted in her mind and looked at Traveler.
Traveler just blankly stared at Dhuradhan, somewhat sad by his behavior. Luna sighed and continued to watch Dhuradhan.
The scythe's handle was a spine. Strong and flexible. On the base of the blade, a skull connected the spine and blade. This allowed the blade to turn into a spear or a scythe.
And he just did that, tugged one on the weapon and the blade moved up. Swinging his weapon in a circular motion and spinning it in his hand, he brought down the spear, stabbing the body on the chest.
Luna was about to question why did he do that, since it was dead already, but she soon got her answer. Dhuradhan pressed down the handle, backwards and this made the spear to start spinning. And Luna saw it... ''Is that his... soul?''
It looked like a ghost. Slightly visible, blank expression and it got sucked into the now, formed back scythe. Then Dhuradhan extended his arm and the scythe disappeared in a black smoke. The smoke went through his clothes and returned into his right shoulder, exactly where it came out.
Luna thought this was the end, but she was wrong. Dhuradhan raised his left hand and his Golden Cross appeared. He pointed it at the dead body and the light that was shining down on the corpse, started to suck the body in. Like something was burning away and fly into something.
When the body was no more, the cross locked away the power from the body and only the blood remained, he pulled out the two eyeballs. He repeated the process and all of The Gatekeeper's body parts disappeared.
Luna watched in interest, as he placed the brightly glowing cross against his chest. It started shining brighter and Dhuradhan released the cross. The cross started to get deeper inside his chest and he started grunting. His breathing became harsh and quick and he soon started screaming.
Luna expected Traveler to help him, but he just watched him, as Dhuradhan fell onto his knees and screamed his lungs out. When the cross fully disappeared in his chest, his eyes started to shine in the same, light blue color. He continued screaming in agony and grabbed his head, like it was about to explode.

Then everything stopped...
His breathing was still harsh and he continued grunting and growling, while looking at the ground. Luna saw blood drops, falling down from his face. And as he slowly stood up, Luna gasped in shock and fright.
''Don't look at me!'' Dhuradhan said, eyes bleeding and Traveler turned away from him quickly.
Luna was too slow and too curious to look away from him.
And she saw his eyes...
Luna screamed, when she looked into those horrifying eyes. She never saw these kind of eyes. Like they are no eyes, but they still are. It was everything wrong, that she ever saw... just like her past...
She saw Nightmare Moon's eye in them. Looking terrifyingly at her and absolutely deadly. An it was like what they used to say: ''Looking into your soul.''
Thankfully, he was just a memory and he could only scare Luna for a moment...
Dhuradhan quickly shut close his eyes end held his head, while blood started to come out from his eyes. ''Ugh... *pant pant* ... bring me to the Bridge of Memories... *cough*... this piece of shit is down... *pant, cough* I need answers... quickly...''
And he passed out, falling into the pool of blood...
And the memory started to change scene again...
Author's Note
Here's part two as I promised. I hope I found all the typos and all. It was a long chapter and MY eyes are burning actually.
Next chapter will be up tomorrow, after school. I get home, rest and time to fix the chapter! And that would be it for this Revealing Memories series.
Questions for you:
Do you skip the gory part?
Luna or Celestia?
Who wants Molestia in his/her own bed? (I want by the way...)
Because if you skip it, then I don't have to make the conversations longer in the following chapters, to explain the missing part!
So please, post it in the comments: YES, or NO!
The other two question is to make you all feel awkward...
And I rarely get one or two comments and there are MUCH more of you, who follows this story. At least say something like: ''This chapter is JUST okay, you shall be spared!'' Just let me know, if you actually follow the story, aside from seeing that how many of you checked out the new chapters...
(And I'm being a 'nyafogó ribanc' again...)
Have a good night!
~Adam
