The Traveling Horseman

Just a quick note:
Me and my class went on a tour to my city's hills and mountains. (Funny how I mention mountains and hills even in a note. Hehhe..) And I thought: ''Hay! I can think about some ideas and finally go on an epic adventure!''
So I grabbed two huge branch from the ground, used a pocket knife to make them sharp and climbed, walked and descended 20 km. While my class mates tried to survive the long trip, me in my full climbing gear(camouflage mask, brown winter hat, green hoodie, black trousers, climbing shoes, bike gloves and a backpack containing water and sandwiches... plus cigarette) zoned out. Needles to say... I somehow got separated from the group... yep.
Now, me being a gamer and big survival, I said: ''What would The Traveler do now?''
Saying out loud 'Map! Show me the way!' I quickly realized I have no unnatural eagle and not even a map was with me. So I chose to go to another kind of big adventure and after half a hour, found my group. Teacher doesn't even realized where was I and not even my classmates knew I was lost for a long time.
What we learned today: BRING A BUCKING MAP WITH YOU OR YOU DIE IN THE WILD LIFE!

The lavender mare, Twilight Sparkle, peacefully read a book on her couch. The librarian closed her door, due to the setting sun. Outside the citizens were packing their supplies, so they don't have to do it dark and they can go home while they can see the road.

As Twilight read her book, which was probably the thousandth one or even the millionth one, she let herself fully focus on her reading. Spike, her little dragon assistant was at her friend, 'helping her' making new clothes. Twilight doesn't found any harm to let the number one assistant spend some time with his little crush.

Chuckling at the thought of the two making clothes, while Spike drooling all over the floor by just looking at Rarity amused the cute egghead. Then she focused on her magic to flip to another page and continued reading.

Little did she know that her other friend, Rainbow Dash was bringing her a more exiting thing than her book...

Outside the library, a somewhat tired Rainbow Dash tried to catch her breath, before her opponent catches up with her.
The sound of loud hoofsteps from behind, was an alarm to her. Quickly crossing her forehooves like this little trip was a piece of cupcake, she greeted her competitor.

''I told you... I'm the fastest flyer in all of Equestria.'' She said, proudly puffing out her chest as a winner.

''Was that a race?'' Asked Traveler in a somewhat confused tone.

But Rainbow Dash knew he was just teasing her. His ride wasn't even tired and he looked well rested. That annoyed the speester. ''Oh shut up!''

She flew closer to the library door and knocked three times. It was unusual for her. Most of the time she simply flew inside with an impressive stunt... and most of the time she made a mess under the process. Knocking on the door was new, uncool and boring for her.

''Fine. You won. Happy?'' Teased the horseman, who dismissed his horse and for the first time, Rainbow Dash witnessed dismounting in spirit style.

As an answer, Rainbow sticked out her tongue and grinned at him. ''He is a good guy. Sprint, I mean. I never saw a pony... well, sprinting like this. It's a pity that he's mute.''

''Horses not supposed to talk. Neither ponies. But it seems this world is different.'' Said the now horseless horseman and started to think about something.

''Why? He's like a big pony. He HAS to talk. Are ponies in other dimensions are mute? How can they just don't tal-... You know what? I don't care. You already confuses me...'' Rainbow Dash gave up. This all thing was just too much for her.

''What kind of school did you learned when you were younger?'' Sounded the question from Traveler as he raised an eyebrow.

''I was at flight school. There I learned how to be the best flyer. And that's where I got my cutie mark too.'' She shoved him the mark on her flank.

But the man just kept staring at her eyes and he looked like someone, who realized something. ''Now I understand...'' He said out loud.

Rainbow turned to him, not shoving her rump anymore. ''What do you mean?'' She asked and gave him a raised eyebrow.

''Oh nothing.'' Quickly answered the man and kept his blank stare at her. ''Featherbrain...''

Giving one last look at the man, she turned to the library door as it started to open. The sound of door unlocking, drawn the gaze of the man to the doorknob. ''Doorknob + hooves = My thousand years old brain starts to melt from the lack of logic and physics...''

''Is that Rainbow Dash? What is she doing here? And who is that stallion with her?'' Twilight asked herself. She wasn't like Rainbow Dash, so her first thought wasn't that 'wild' about Rainbow coming to her library with a stallion...

She heard no more talking outside, so she unlocked her door and opened it...

''Hy Twi! Can you help to our strange quest here?'' Rainbow greeted her friend and pointed at the tall man next to her.

''Hello Rainbow! Of course. What can I help... you...'' She couldn't finish her sentence.

Twilight at first saw the creature's lower part and she kept her gaze at there. But before Rainbow can make a joke about 'Twilight's first time seeing a males private area' she moved her eyes slowly upwards. Going trough the creature's chest and trying to name his clothing and gear, then finally meeting his face, Twilight wanted to shut the door immediately.
His hazel eyes looked back to her and they sent a small shiver trough Twilight's spine. His blank expression was dark, because of his hood and the most noticeable thing was...

... he was a kind of creature that she never seen or heard before.

This unknown creature for her was a mystery... and what Twilight have no knowledge about, is totally scary for her.

''Hello librarian! I'm looking for some information about this land. Can you help me with that?'' Asked the now 'not-so-scary' creature from her. His tone was normal, like an average stallion. This helped Twilight to calm down a bit.

''Y-yes. S-sure...'' She looked at Rainbow Dash, who was on the edge of laughing. ''Uhm... just a moment please!'' And with that, she grabbed Rainbow Dash with her magic and pulled her inside. Shutting the door close... in the creature's face.

But the man paid no mind for that strange event, except one... ''Magic... a new thing to get more information about...'' And he wrote that down on his scroll...

Rainbow Dash landed with a *thud* on the wooden floor in the library. She immediately became airborne and spoke up. ''Hey! What is wrong with you Twi?!'' She tried to ask this in a 'hurt' tone, but she was still grinning at Twilight. She knew that her friend is going to freak out.

''What is wrong with YOU!?'' Twilight pointed a hoof at her friend. ''You brought here a monster just to scare me? Rainbow, you gone too far with this prank!'' Twilight was upset. Not just about the creature, but about her friend's dangerous prank. And of course, she didn't wanted to tell her friend how scared she was...

''It's not a prank Twi!'' Defended herself Rainbow Dash. ''I found him outside Ponyville and he needed help! And who is better at giving infos than you!''

Her friend's nice compliment calmed Twilight down, but she was still upset about this... thing. ''But you don't even know what is that! You should told that thing to stay out of the town, THEN find me so I can do something with it! It can be dangerous...''

''First, it's a HE. Second, he doesn't even hurt me when I crashed into him after a sonic rainboom!'' Said Rainbow Dash, trying to convince her friend about this situation.

''You did WHAT?!'' Cried out Twilight. ''You crashed into that thing than bring him here. Rainbow, maybe he wants to take revenge for that and *gasp* MAYBE HE'S GOING TO HURT PONYVILLE!''

And with that said, she bolted out of the door. She expected total destruction outside, but she instead found a...

''Something's wrong?'' Asked a confused Traveler, who was busy scratching his eagle's head.

Rainbow flew outside and chuckled. ''Yeah Twilight. Hehhe... that's totally hurting the ponies...''

Twilight was dumbfounded. She even beat Rainbow Dash with that face today. So let me give Twilight the lead at 'The most confused/dumbfounded face today' list. And I even give her that list, so she can double check it it's right or not...

While the Traveler continued to pet his eagle, Twilight leaned closer to Rainbow. ''Okay, maybe I over reacted bit...'' She received an odd look from her friend. '' alright, alright, I absolutely over reacted this. But that thi-... I mean HE is so strange. I don't even know what he is.''

''Then try to find out. You've done researches before. Maybe you can became famous by getting some information about him. And that's what he needs too...'' Reasoned Rainbow Dash.

Twilight looked at 'him' one last time, than agreed with her friend. ''Alright. I just had to... clean. Yes, I had to clean the library first. Now we can go inside.'' She said and walked back to the library, with Rainbow behind her.

The Traveler looked at his eagle. ''Thank you Map. Maybe that pegasus isn't that stupid after all.'' Then his eagle got back his flaming, purple wings and glowing eyes. At the same time, a faint glow disappeared from the man's ears and he could no longer hear that well...

He started walking into the open library, where he could finally gather some useful information...
