Glacious watched the group all walk out of the throne room. Glacious, seeing the smiles on their faces, and the sheer excitement on Rarity’s as she rambled on about different outfit designs she could make for Arctic, put a smile on her face.

Queen Celestia saw this and she too had to chuckle a bit.

“They seem to be quite close.” Celestia said.

“Indeed. Though it wasn’t like this in the beginning. It’s nice to see that those seven have grown fairly close to my child. Especially young Spike.” Glacious responded.

“Spike his grown close to him the most?” Celestia asked.

“Yes. The two a similar in many ways. Both are young beings in a realm dominated by ponies. Both consume meat, though young Spike has yet to mature enough to properly consume it. We’re young Spike older, I imagine many ponies would fear him just like they fear my child.” Glacious said.

Glacious was right in her assumption. Celestia knew this. If Spike was much older, many ponies would fear him greatly. The only reason ponies are okay with him around is because he is a baby. He isn’t yet old enough to where most ponies would consider him a dangerous threat.

“Tis a sad reality. I imagine things were difficult for young Arctic and you as well?” Celestia asked.

“It was. My child and I would wonder to many villages and towns only to be chased away or shunned out of fear. Many ponies called me by a name. Nightmare Moon I believe.”

Celestia froze a bit. Glacious noticed this.

“Is there something wrong?”

Celestia took a second before responding.

“Nightmare Moon, was my sister, Luna.” Celestia said.

Celestia went on to tell Glacious everything. From Luna’s mounting jealousy of her, her and Celestia’s falling out, her transformation to Nightmare Moon, the small war that took place, and eventually how the Element Bearers restored Luna, bring her back to normal.

“I am sorry you had so deal with such pain as to fight and banish your kin for so long.” Glacious said sympathetically.

“It is alright. My sister is back, though she still has quite to learn especially after what has transpired today. For as old as she is, she still behaves like we did in our younger years.”

“Like in your younger years?” Glacious questioned.

Celestia let out a sigh and shut her eyes before beginning her next story.

“In our youth, over a megaannum, my sister and I lost our parents. They both perish in battle against a force that took decades to defeat. My sister and I were left to wander the land for many moons. It was not till what would be our adolescent years did we slowly come to rule this land with the aid of our friend and teacher, Starswirl the bearded. With his guidance, my sister and I had become the new Queens of Equestria. Though, we were a bit, bad at first. We were prone to jumping into things and acting in rash manners. There are many times we have gotten close to starting or starting a war. Over time, we had begun to mature and correct our behavior. My sister is a good sort, despite what your first interaction with her may tell you. While I understand she is still frustrated about being feared still, due to ponies believing you to be Nightmare Moon come to harm them, it still doesn’t justify her actions.”

Glacious smirked a bit at this.

“I understand. Perhaps, should we get the chance to, Luna and I may talk properly.”

“I do hope you and my sister can become decent allies.” Celestia said. “It would also be beneficial for her to speak with your son, Arctic. Give her the chance to get to know him. He seems a good sort.” Celestia smiled. “Now then, I wish to hear of your past. Your proper past.”

“You could tell?” Glacious asked.

“Indeed. Can’t quite fool me. I could tell while most of what you initially told me was true, I could sense the deception in a few things you said.” Celestia said.

“Quite the sharp young thing.” Glacious teased. “But my history is not something I enjoy speaking of. Many painful memories. But I suppose it wouldn’t do me much good to keep it all bottle. I will have to tell somepony the truth eventually, even my child. He will have to know at some point, though I wish the keep it from him from as long as I can.”

Celestia frowned at this. While she was curious, she didn’t wish to push Glacious into telling her story if she didn’t want to.

“Please, I asked just to sate my curiosity. You do not have to tell me if you do not wish to.”

“No, no, it is quite alright.” Glacious said before taking in a breath. “Let’s start at the beginning.”

Glacious’s mind went back. Far back. Millions of years back, before there were even a few hundred ponies to inhabit planet Equus. Back when Alicorns were just starting to roam the land.

Back then, in a brilliant display of light and a massive wave of mana, two small Alicorn foals were born, birthed by an Alicorn stallion and mare. The two foals were named, Khione Fuyuyama and Agneya Fuyuyama. The two Alicorn foals, as they grew, developed their magic. Khione, developed a magic derived from the snow and ice. While Agneya’s was derived from fire and magma.

As the two grew, they grew powerful and more importantly, they grew closer as sisters. Everyday the two would spend time together. They were nigh inseparable. Where ever Khione went, Agneya was there. And wherever Agneya went, Khione was there. Their mother and father found this most adorable. The two Alicorn parents would spend their days teaching and aiding the two sisters in any way they could. Though, they mostly made sure they were a strong family unit.

As the sisters got older, their powers grew at an exponential rate, as did their bond. The two talked about possibly ruling a kingdom together. Side by side as Princesses, or even Queens. Though they though it just a simple dream. Well, one did.

Agneya begun to wonder. How would she fair being the ruler of a kingdom. She believed it to be difficult, and even decided against becoming a ruler. But over time, her curiosity grew. As years went on and kingdoms were indeed beginning to become established with their own rulers, Agneya would occasionally sneak in just to observe the rulers and how they worked. She would even occasionally bring Khione with her, so she too could observe.

While there were some kind and just rulers, there were some who were outfit despicable. While Khione had a big distaste for the unjust rulers, Agneya had a fascination with them. Eventually, she even begun to mimic those rulers. At first it was small.one would never even realize what was going on. Though in time, it grew a bit more obvious. While not blatantly obvious, it was noticeable. Which was just enough for Khione to begin to worry.

As the years passed, it was ever so slowly becoming a bit more obvious the Agneya was beginning to idolize those negligent rulers. Khione, deciding to step in, informed her parents of what was going on. Agneya was punished for this, as her parents believed she should be a kind ruler. Better than those unjust, unworthy rulers. After all, as Alicorns, they were meant to be powerful figures meant to guide the creatures soon to inhabit the world of Equus.

It was after this, Khione and Agneya had a falling out. The two had gotten into a heated argument that threatened to become a heat exchanger of blows. Afterwards, the two had begun to grow distant. Even to the point the two wouldn’t even be within the vicinity of the other. But while, Khione was upset, she still cared for her sister. Which is why, when one day, when Agneya had gone missing, Khione was worried sick about her. She would search high and low, near and far to find her sister. Even going to the kingdom of the unworthy ruler she idolized, but alas, Agneya was nowhere to be found.

Even more years passed. Khione continued her training under her mother and father and continued to grow in strength. Even after so many years had passed, Khione still deeply missed her sister. One day, Khione was out enjoying the sound of a nearby waterfall and the gentle mist it showered Khione in. This peace was disrupted by a loud explosion and the unnerving scent of smoke. An attack had happened. Khione, rushing to the scene, found a terrible sight. Her home set ablaze. Flames and puddles of magma surrounded the area. It was then, she heard a noise that sounded like a scream, Khione rushed to the source. And what she found made her stomach drop. Her parents, dead. Their coats soaked in their own blood. Though what chilled her the most, was the weapon. It was evident that they had been severely burned in places and even stabbed. By what? A horn. A mighty Alicorn’s horn was what seemed to be the finishing blow. For what made it obvious was the broken blood soaked horn embedded with the stomach of the mother.

Khione cried out for her parents, hoping they’d still be alive, only to find that they weren’t. They had passed on before Khione got there. But who could’ve done this? How would somepony be able to take down two powerful Alicorns such as them? Well, obviously another Alicorn. Agneya.

Agneya stood before her sister. Blood coating her fur, her horn missing and even dawning a few scars both fresh and old. Khione demanded to know why Agneya would do this. As well as where she had been this whole time. Agneya explained that she had been taken under the wing of some powerful ponies. Who helped her gain even more power and better control of said power. In time, Agneya believed she was ready to rule a kingdom and so visit a ruler she was quite fond of. She hoped to rule along side them but was in for a rude awakening when she discovered the ruler wished to use her. To gain more influence with the might of an Alicorn backing them up. So in a display of power and a fit of rage, Agneya struck down the ruler and usurped the throne, becoming the kingdoms new ruler.

As time went on, Agneya had begun to lust for more. She wished to rule over every kingdom and even all of Equus. But she knew others would try to take her down. While no regular pony could, there was always a chance another of her kind could put and end to her. Her parents. So, she devised a means to execute her parents. But leave her sister, not out of pity or love, but because she believed her sister was too weak to stop her. Years of training and gaining more power lead to this moment. The death of two Alicorns.

Khione, in a fit of fury attacked her sister. Surprising Agneya, for she believed her sister was too weak to fight her. Unfortunately for her, they were evenly matched. The battle went on for ages before a victor could be decided. So, Khione using a technique her parents only briefly should both of them when they were younger, Khione managed to siphon away Agneya’s magic. Though this did little to deter Agneya. Khione, despite doing her best not to, used what last shreds of magic she had left in her to let loose one last attack. This attack while not fatal, sealed a significant amount of damage. Agneya, now no longer with any of her magic and in a terribly weaker state, retreated, so she could someday regain her lost magic and be rid of her sister once and for all.

Khione, after tending to her wounds, buried her parents, before leaving her old home. In a bid to forget her past, to forget the pain, she altered her name. Khione Fuyuyama, had on that day, died, and in her place, Glacious Fuyumori was born. Glacious spent her days keeping to herself. She never spoke to or made an effort to see anypony. She was always alone. That is, until her son came along.

After finishing the tail, Glacious was in tears. Having to relive the past was difficult for her. Celestia too was holding back tears. She hadn’t expected that when she asked to know Glacious’s past.

“I am sorry to hear that Glacious. I can not begin to image how painful that was for you.”

“It…it is alright, Celestia. My sister is still out there. I hope to keep my child and the other young ponies away from her. Who knows what she will do to them all.” Glacious said.

The two sat in silence before Celestia spoke up.

“The gala is coming up. You should use it to get to experience a bit of Canterlot with your son. Take your mind off of having to relive the past like this.”

Glacious thought for a moment.

“That would be nice. To spend time with my family. It would be a welcome distraction from today’s discussion.”

Celestia then gave Glacious a ticket to the gala. Glacious smiled and accepted it. With one last quick chat and a farewell, Glacious slipped into her disguised form and exited Canterlot Castle. Tracking her son’s power, she followed it to a little bakery, called Donut Joe’s. Upon entering, she was hit with a smell that brought a smile to her muzzle. And at a table before her, was her son and his friends. Her new little family.
