My little Dragon Ball: FuyuMori
Ch 23: Arctic’s New Friend
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt was around two days after the battle with Barite. Glacious and Zecora were shocked to see them all injured and bruised up. Like the caring mothers they are, immediately rushed them all to Ponyville Hospital. Most of the group only had a few minor injuries and left earlier, tough Arctic and Rainbow were in there longer. Even Fluttershy was in their longer. Her little transformation underground had drained her significantly. She was drained so much, she couldn’t even talk. She had recovered enough to talk and eat, but not yet walk.
Nurse Red Heart trotted out of the room after bringing Arctic, Fluttershy, Rainbow, and Pinkie, food. Though Arctic, and Pinkie who kinda just wanted to eat as she had skipped breakfast, we’re on their 30th helping of food.
“I’ve never seen a transformation like that before. I didn’t think Thestrals could transform.” Twilight said. “Honestly, I don’t know much about Thestrals, but still. This is wonderful! I have to document everything!
The group all shied away as Twilight manically giggled to herself as trotted in place before running off to get some parchment, quills and ink. Arctic just chuckled.
“Tree Hugger? You okay? You seem, haggard.” Arctic said.
He was right. Tree Hugger looked as though she hadn’t fallen asleep at all.
“Twilight’s been studying the magic I cast back at the place we fought that Diamond Dog girl.” Tree Hugger said groggily.
“Oh right. I wondered how yah did that.” Applejack said. “So, what did y’all find out?”
“Well, she couldn’t find out much, though it did seem that, a bunch of years ago, Earth ponies seemed to be able to use plant like magic. Still couldn’t find much on our own, so she sent a letter to Queen Celestia.” Tree Hugger said.
“Well, if anypony would know about Earth ponies being able to use magic like that, it’d be her.” Rainbow said.
“By the way, Arc, how’s yah shoulder? That injury looked pretty bad.” Applejack asked.
“It’s feeling better. Still sore though.” Arctic said as he rubbed his shoulder, only to flinch slightly.
“Well, darling, after all that, your clothes were ripped up. So, how would you like a new outfit to where once you leave?” Rarity asked.
Arctic just smiled. He new Rarity had been desperately wanting an opportunity to make some new clothes for him. Partly to keep him clothed, but mostly to just flex her creative chops in making outfits for the bipedal alien who had become her friend. Though, Arctic did want something new. So he agreed.
“Oh, I already have some ideas! I’ll have some new outfits for you soon. You desperately need to get out of that garish gown.” Rarity said.
“And you desperately need to have more of this tomato soup!” Pinkie shouted as she downed her 5th bowl of tomato soup after she and Arctic downed all the broccoli and cheddar soup and the potato and veggie soup.
Arctic chuckled and started eating the tomato soup. The girls all rolled their eyes and laughed.
As they enjoyed themselves, the soft clip-clop of two ponies approaching rang through the hall. The ponies were Lyra Heartstrings and Bon-Bon. Lyra had been in Canterlot for a while and eventually came to Ponyville to meet her best friend, BonBon. That day, she ended up in an accident that left her right hind leg damaged. She had been recovering and slowly practicing walking on her leg again.
“You really have to be more careful, you know.” BonBon said.
“I know, I know. I just didn’t even see that hole.” Lyra said.
Poor Lyra had fallen victim to one of the CMC’s escapades. They had been trying to get their Cutie marks in hole digging. After they hadn’t gotten them, they rushed off to do something else, which lead to Lyra falling into it and breaking her leg. Badly.
“Those three little fillies. I can’t wait for them to get their cutie marks so they can stop all their chaos.” Bonbon said.
“So, anyway, what’s been going on here in Ponyville? It’s be a while since I last came to visit.” Lyra said.
“Well, it’s been the usual stuff. Days have been pretty much the same.” Lyra said with a smile. “My sweets company is gaining traction. Not as popular as SugarCube Corner, mind you, but it’s doing well.”
Lyra smiled and gently bumped her. “Well, at least it’s gaining some traction. Who knows how far you’ll grow.”
“Yeah. Oh! I almost forgot. Some new pony and creature are staying her, in Twilight’s Library.” Bonbon said.
“Oh? What are they? Have they been here long?” Lyra asked.
“Well, they haven’t been here all that long. But anyway, the pony is a Pegasus. A huge one too. Always wondered how she got to be so big. Anyway, the creature is a tall one. He has no coat, stands on two legs, and…”
“A human?!” Lyra interrupted BonBon.
Bonbon groaned. Lyra had always told BonBon about these Human creatures. Bonbon didn’t really care about Lyra’s claims.
Lyra had always told her that her ancestors had passed down stories of humans appearing in Equestria thousands of years ago. According to the stories Lyra’s father, Sitar Heartstrings, a small group of humans appeared in Equestria thousands of years ago, before Celestia and Luna became rulers. They aided in beating an ancient evil and vanished never to return. Ponies had forgotten about them, other than the heartstring family. Though many ponies didn’t believe them and often brushed them off.
But, after all the descriptions Lyra gave, she had to wonder if Arctic was a human and if humans actually existed.
“I don’t know if he is a human, but after your descriptions, he might me.” Bonbon gave a hesitant look to Lyra.
Lyra’s face lit up. She let out a loud squeal and trotted in place, only to abruptly stop.
“Ow.” Lyra said as she rubbed her leg. “Anyway, if he is a human, I have to meet him. Where can I find him?”
Bonbon briefly thought before something clicked. “Well, I think he’s here, actually.”
“He is?!” Lyra shouted as she got shushed by Nurse Redheart.
“Yeah. I think he came in with some others and they all were pretty injured.” Bonbon said.
“I gotta find him.” Lyra said.
She speed walked her way down the hall. She passed each room and looked in, trying to find Arctic. She passed one room and kept walking. Only to stop and back up. In the room, she saw Arctic and Pinkie devouring cupcakes. They had gotten their fill of soup and started eating cupcakes Pinkie had stashed in her mane. Lyra saw Arctic and gasped loudly, catching everyones attention. Arctic looked to Pinkie, and knowing she knew practically everypony in Ponyville, he asked her.
“Hey Pinks? Who’s she? And why is she staring at me?”
Pinkie giggled and looked to Lyra and back to Arctic.
“That’s Lyra! She lives in Canterlot and sometimes comes to visit! How are you feeling Lyra?” Pinkie asked.
Lyra didn’t respond. At least not right away. When she did respond it was a loud, giddy, scream.
“A human!” Lyra said as she rushed over to Arctic, stumbling as she did so.
“How’d a human get here and why didn’t I know about it till now? Do you really live in a world where you car pilot a self driving carriage? What’s it like having hands? Is it nice being so tall? I mean, we have tall ponies, but still! What’s…”
Before Lyra could finish, Glacious had stepped in. She was still in her Pegasus disguise.
“Young mare, my dear child is not, whatever a human is. He, is a saiyan.”
Lyra’s face scrunched. She knew of, at least, heard tales of human from the tales of her ancestors that were passed down generation to generation till it reached her. But she had never heard of a Saiyan before. He looked so much like what the stories described humans as. Though as she looked at him, she picked up on differences.
From the stories, humans were smaller than ponies and looked younger. At least, the humans that were said to have appeared in Equestria, thousands of years ago were. This, “Saiyan” looked taller. Younger too. Well, older than the humans from the stories, but still quite young.
“A saiyan? But you look like a human.” Lyra said.
“Sorry to disappoint, but I have no idea what humans are. I barely remember much about my own race. All I remember are vague stories from some man about saiyans. Even then those memories are pretty fuzzy.” Arctic said.
Lyra was a bit disappointed, but happy nonetheless. He may not be human, but he sure as buck looked like one.
For the next few weeks as they recovered. Lyra would come to see Arctic almost daily. She would often ask Arctic about his race, his powers when she found out he had powers, she also admired his hands. Arctic found it strange that she did, but he kinda just let her. By the time they, and the others recovered, Lyra decided to finally ask to see Arctic’s transformations.
“Well, Super Saiyan would be easy to show, but Oozaru, we’ll have to wait till night fall.” Arctic explained.
“I don’t mind. I just can’t wait to see them.” Lyra exclaimed as she jumped up and down.
Pinkie too, joined Lyra in jumping up and down in excitement. The others just rolled their eyes. Bonbon nudged Lyra.
“You should calm down. You’ve been all chipper and excited seeing somepony who many not be human, but closely resembles one, according to you.”
“I know! It’s just, I’m so excited. If he exists, who’s to say human’s don’t?” Lyra retorted.
Bonbon just groaned as Glacious chimed in.
“Do be careful, my child. Your body isn’t yet fully recovered. I do not want you to burn yourself out.”
“I will, mother.” Arctic said.
Arctic steadied himself as he got ready The ground began to tremble slightly as he powered up. His eyes began to change from their usual deep blue to a ruby red. His hair began to stand on end and with a roar, accompanied by the roar of an Oozaru, he transformed into a Super Saiyan.
Bonbon, and especially Lyra, was amazed. they had never seen anything like this before. Lyra’s mind raced with new thoughts and questions. But one stuck out in her mind.
“Hey, Arctic?”
“Yeah?” Arctic said as he powered down.
“I never asked, but are there any more of you around?” Lyra asked.
“Well, in Equestria, no. But if what Queen Celestia and my mother says is correct, and Teilight somehow ripped me from where I was meant to be, and dropped me here,” Arctic said before glancing to Twilight, who just sheepishly looked away. “Then, maybe there are others.”
“Have you ever been interested in meeting them, someday if you could.” Lyra asked.
Arctic mauled over that question. While he was curious, he never really cared much.
“I guess I kinda am. But, then again, other than blood, I don’t really have a connection to the saiyans. I was raised on Equus. And though it took a while, I have friends here. My Mother and my friends are all my family. They’re all I need really.” Arctic said.
The girls all smiled. Even Rainbow. Despite the fact she was trying hard not to. Gotta keep up her tough tomboy appearances, after all.
After that, nightfall came. Arctic kept his word and showed Lyra his Oozaru form. She was utterly amazed and giddy with excitement. Even the Crusaders were there. They hadn’t really seen Arctic’s Oozaru form. They had seen his Super Saiyan form, he showed it to them. But when they heard of his Oozaru form, they were desperate to see it. They were just as giddy as Lyra.
Tree Hugger, the Element Bearers, Glacious and Zecora were there. They all marveled at the sight. Except Twilight. She was, as she usually did, taking notes.
“Dude, this form is so cool!” Rainbow shouted.
“It’s like a slide!” Pinkie screamed in excitement.
She had gotten on top of Arctic’s tail and slide down it like a slide.
“How long can you stay like this again?” Lyra asked.
“Until the sun has gone down. Until then, I’m stuck like this.” Arctic said.
Applejack trotted up with a pile of sticks from an old tree she managed to kick down.
“Well, if’n yer gonna stay like that til mornin’, we can’t rightly leave yah out her alone, now can we, Sugarcube?”
Pinkie gasped.
“Camping with an Oozaru?! I bet nopony’s ever done that before.”
“Well, to be fair, nopony really could. Until now.” Fluttershy said.
“Hey Arctic?” Lyra asked.
“Yes, Lyra?” Arctic said, looking down to Lyra as he laid on his belly, his head in his crossed arms.
“Think we could sleep in your fur?”
“Sleep in his fur?” Rainbow asked. “What for?”
“I must admit, Rainbow Dash, his snow white fur does look rather soft. I imagine it would feel quite nice to sleep in.” Rarity chimed in.
Arctic, while a bit confused, agreed. Circling them with his tail, he let them all get on top of it, or lean against it. According to them, it was extremely soft. Even Rainbow admitted it was soft. Softer than the clouds she often slept on. After Spike got the fire going, they all sat and told stories to each other or talked amongst themselves. Lyra even told them all about the stories of the Humans that once appeared on Equus. Arctic found the stories interesting. He didn’t know if they were true or not, but he enjoyed them either way. While it did bring up his old thoughts of being the only of his kind on Equus, he didn’t really mind it much. He had a mother and friends here to keep him company. And he wasn’t gonna trade that for the world.
