Chapters So... This is my first story huh?
Kinda... Underwhelming to be honest. But this story walked, so my changeling story could run.
For the old (or new for somereason) fans of this story, I'll give you a little background info. Y'all deserve it.
At the start of the life of this story, I just... Kinda copied Trust Once Lost, the one by Greenhorn.
You could tell that I took the whole green filly gets talked by Luna and gets saved thing and ran with it. I... Was really not proud of that one tbh.
I felt... Kinda restrained? Or atleast, very unorganized. The story was a mess of mary sue aspects with the idea of hurting an extension if myself.
No, even though it is my name, I am not depressed.
I just like... Hurting extensions of my self. Like literally everyone does in any fandom.
I also felt that I needed to pump out chapters left and right to catch people's attention. While yes, pumping chapters out every day does make more viewers gravitate towards your story, it just feels wrong to do.
For me, atleast.
There's... A lot more authors that deserve more attention than me that do daily uploads.
I'm getting off topic.
I canned this story for the simple and childish reason of it not being popular. Not being good enough. Not being praised.
I was a egotistical child back then. Maybe I still am now.
My ego got bruised, and in a split second decision I just canned this story and forgot about it.
I was also a little miffed.
"Really? This story got approved by the mods but not my Royal Guard story?" was the exact thought I had.
This story was shit. It got approved. And then I overestimated my writing prowess and ran my first story to the ground.
... Most of my stories are shit. You should see my drafts lmao. But I still had pride in their creation.
That's... It. I guess. Maybe I'll remake this. Maybe I won't. Probably wont. But I'll just re upload this story.
To remind myself that it's okay to have bad stories, because my catalogue literally is full of them.
Author's Note
Thanks. Cringe ass rant though lmao.
Prologue: dear god, where DID you go?
"Across the river of death and the valley of life, one can find solace in the middle."
Have you ever heard this saying before? No? Thought so, it's an old saying, one my... "Mom" taught me. She was a kind mare, or so I thought. The saying means you can find solace in the middle of death and life, happiness after being born into the world and happiness before you get taken out of it. I recounted that saying more times than I can count, especially since it was the only thing to do in this hell I called "life".
I was in a cage... I was besides other foals, fillies, colts. They looked so confused when they first wake up here, some begged for their mommies when they did. After they wake up some scream out,
"Mom! Where am I? Mom!"
Some scream out, neigh BEGGED for their lives,
" Please! Please I beg you! Dont hurt me please! "
Most of them get silenced quickly, some permanently. Some prayed for Celestia's rescue, some more passionate than others. Celestia, oh dear princess Celestia! Please save us, help us! I scoff every time I hear it. Celestia? She got us into this mess, you think she's gonna save us? To them we were long dead, even if some weren't.
Every day, one lucky foal would be let out of their cage, oh the look on their faces, joy! Happiness! hope. All dashed away only a few moments later. A stallion or a mare would let them out, they would assure the little fillies that,
"You're the lucky foal, you would finally be free! You're going to meet you mommies, your daddies!"
They would escort them to a room, one moment the foal was happily chatting with the stallion or mare that let them out, and the other... Screams, painful screams, crying, pleading, "IT HURTS, PLEASE!" And "PLEASE MAKE IT STOP! PLEASE!" It hurts to hear them suffering. After a few minutes, the foal would come out looking distraught, disheveled or worse, not come out at all.
Most of them stopped pleading after that point, most grew tired, I couldn't blame them, we didn't get much food or water so figured.
I was... Special to say the least. I was tested on the most, some prodding here, some injections there. They said I was the "Best results so far," they kept making me do something. Sometimes little stuff like "Move that object behind the wall, towards the hole in front of us." Sometimes it was, "Reach out for my wings" or some bullshit like that. Wings? I was a... What was I again? I... Forgot... I had arms... Right?
While thinking about this, I was called again for another round of testing,
"Number #314?" They said in front of cage, "Are you awake #314?"
"Yes..."
"Good, now please go and follow this mare to the testing room." The scientist said a monotone voice.
I did what I was told, I followed the blue coated pegasus mare with a white mane to the testing room, there I saw a peculiar box. I was instructed to move and go inside it by the mare, I quietly nodded and did what I was told.
There was a loud beeping outside the box I was in, I only closed my eyes and took a deep breath...
That was when I felt it, the feeling of blood gushing into my lungs, I couldn't breath. I tried to move but it felt like a dozen metal rods were pushed inside me from every side. I was dying. It was finally my time. I coughed, blood burst out of my mouth as my lungs got filled with the red substance. I tried to scream, but nothing came out. My vision was getting blurry and my breathing slowed until it finally... Stopped.
I was... Dead. I died by what I could only presume to be metal rods getting shoved into my body forcefully. It was odd way out but I couldn't complain. I opened my eyes expecting pony heaven or eternal darkness. But what I saw was a... River.
There was a tall mare across the river, or it looked like one. It did not speak, but the longer I looked at it the more distorted the mare got. My mind suddenly went berserk as it tried to comprehend the mare, no, CREATURE across the river. One moment it's a tall mare, the other moment it was an amorphous blob of magic the human mind couldn't possibly comprehend. After what felt like eons of staring, it was clear that mind numbing pain that was clearly emanating from the creature, the creature stopped it's facade of ponies and energy and settled into one singular form.
A dark green coated pony stood in front of me, an even darker mane to compliment the already dark coat. It examined it's new form and smiled, as it finally began to speak,
"Hello, young one." It said with a monotone tone.
"Uh... Hello? " I replied.
"It seems that you had an... unfortunate fate young one, " it said while staring at me with glowing white eyes, " but it seems you already comprehended such, yes?"
I only grew more and more confused, who was this- no what is this thing in front if me?
"If you count getting stabbed violently with metal oblongs from each side as unfortunate? Then yes, I think I already comprehended that." I said while having a forced smile.
The creature chuckled and took a step closer, I flinched as I looked at the creature that was inching closer and closer to me. The creature seeing my obvious distress quickly took a step back.
"It seems you are scared, my child. May I ask why?"
"Well dying can get you into that mood," I replied.
"It seems that explanations needs to be in order," as if on cue, it's side of the river quaked violently. It paused for a moment, a look of disappointment adorned it's face and it sighed looking back at me, "it seems explanations can come at a later date. It seems my side is getting rowdy, more than usual it seems."
"Wait what-"
"Listen to me my little one, I will help you to get out of your damp hell, in return you will give me something that I desire. "
"What? You can get me out of here? Wait I'm dead how can you-"
"Do you accept? "
"Wait what's in it for you, what do you desire in exchange? "
It smiled and answered quickly,
"A vessel,"
"A vessel for what?"
"We do not have much time little one, answer me quickly, do you accept?"
I only took a moment to think it over and answered with a large smile on my face,
"Of fucking course yeah I accept!"
"Good, I will help you throughout your escape, you will only need to do one thing." It replied, it's form now slowly melting away into the void behind it.
"What do I need to do?"
Its eyes became crimson red and almost blinded me as it shouted one word as a reply,
"RUN!"
The river suddenly stopped flowing as both of our sides collapsed under our feet, sending both of us rocketing to the ground.
"What's happening?" The stallion with a gray coat said hurriedly to the mare besides him.
"I don't know! It just suddenly showed warning signs in the panel!" The mare replied while gesturing to the panel in front of her, and as the mare said, it was full of warning signs and symbols, telling the operator of the panel to stop and seek assistance.
The box in front of them suddenly exploded and filled the room in front of them with smoke, the two ponies were thankfully saved by the glass window that was separating the two rooms from one another.
The stallion gave out a hearty round of laughter with a look in eyes that can only be described as a mixture of glee and excitement as he shouted, "YES! YES! OUR EXPERIMENTS ARE SHOWING PROGRESS! QUICKLY WRITE THE NEW DISCOVERY DOWN-" before an object broke through the glass and through the stallions skull, making him go limp in the matter of seconds.
The mare looked on with shock as the stallions eyes melted from the heat emanating from the object. The object was a dark green leg from a pony with a brown hoof base under it. The leg threw the body of the stallion against a wall, completely destroying the body and the wall in the process. The leg retracted from the broken glass as the body of the filly she killed peeked it's head out from the broken glass, staring right into her very being.
She looked on in shock as both of them made eye contact, the filly slowly smiling wider and wider,
"Surprise! Did you miss me?" The filly said with a manically grin plastered into it's face and it's eyes fully devolved of life, like a void only seen in Tartarus.
The mare stood sill only for a moment and quickly shouted,
"FUCK GET AWAY FROM ME!"
She quickly ran out of the hole in wall, the filly only looking on with dead eyes as it fully went out of the broken glass hole it's body was slightly stuck in. The body of the filly was littered with holes from the metal rods, said rods were now melting and oozing out of the little filly's body. The filly stretched out its wings and ignited it's horn, as it did this the filly took some time to comprehend it's new limbs and chuckled to no one in particular,
"Oh? Tag? So soon? Oh well. You shall see that I am a master at tag!" As multiple tentacles sprouted from the ground all around the filly and quickly took off in every direction, destroying anything and everything in their path, "This is gonna be so much FUN!"
After a moment the filly walked over the dead body of the stallion and went the same direction to the mare who ran away from it.
"Oh the look on her face! I want to see it again! One small step at a time though, wouldn't want too much disgusting blood on my hands. Now, where's the exit?" The filly said while emanating a field of volcanic heat, the field made the walls around it started to collapse and turn into metal concrete goo.
The mare was running for her life as the filly was closely following behind, the mare's wings were now melted except for the bone as she ran.
Multiple guards tried to apprehend the filly, but it was no use as the filly only chuckled at them and either melted them into a hot goo, or snapped their necks with her magic, or both.
"Celestia DAMMIT! Why is it after me?" The mare shouted, "Is it because I killed it?"
The mare looked back only for a moment, but that moment costed her precious seconds as she looked on with horror. Multiple metal rods were quickly approaching her at high speeds, intending to put new large holes in her body that she did not want.
She went faster and faster but it was for not, as one of the metal rods finally struck her on the leg causing her to trip and completely take off the foreleg that was struck in the process, she yelped in pain as the filly slowly walked closer and closer to the mare that was practically begging for her life,
"Please! PLEASE! I don't want to die" she looked to filly, who just chuckled at her amusing pleads.
"Well, maybe you shouldn't have harmed the little one, I could've reconsider a lighter punishment for you." The filly said now inching closer and closer to the mare's face.
The mare was now screaming out in pain as one side of her face gets melted off by the intense heat while multiple metal rods stabbed themselves into her remaining three legs.
The filly only looked on with disgust and contempt. One of her eyes strangely flickered back to color instead of the black void it was before.
"Oh! It seems the little one is awake! You can count yourself lucky, mare!" It said with a hint of sarcasm to the mare that barely clung on to life, innards of her face now showing and melting, "I wouldn't want my little one to see this now, do I?" The filly backed away from the mare and off her body.
"Go, before I change my mind." It said with a dead tone.
"Or do you want to be like that stallion over there?" As she points to a stallion that's getting pierced by dozens of metal rods, his body practically crumbling into tiny flesh globs due to the proximity to the filly.
The mare only nodded in response,
"Good, now get out of my sight you disgusting being of flesh." The filly said gesturing to the open door.
The filly looked one as the mare ran across the room past it and out the door, it only sighed.
"Seems like the last time I wondered into the mortal realm a thousand years ago, pony kind has devolved into disgusting practices. Tia, you said you'll guide your kind, but this doesn't look like guiding. I'll pay you a visit someday but since I have far more important things to do, I'll ignore this for now. Count yourself lucky Tia."
It sat down and looked at the reflective tile floor of the building. It saw a dark green coated filly with a horn and wings, the latter of which was now slowly being turned into bone and disappearing. Sure, it was disappointed it couldn't use it's wings, but the filly needs to not realize it has wings, for the sake of convenience. The filly then looked up to the white ceiling that was now practically crumbling apart, it stood up again and walked closer to the door, both of it's eyes now returning back to their original color.
"Stay safe my little one, and I am sure we will meet again, maybe in a sunny day, if I am ever so lucky." As she looked on the large foliage of trees beyond the door, multiple guards now behind her. She decided at that moment to run, run as fast as she can. As the guards shouted profanities to the little green filly, she shouted to the air,
"THIS IS PAYBACK YOU WHITE ALICORN! HAHAHA!"
Prologue end.

Ew, c r i n g e
DENIAL 1: This can't be happening.
I could feel my head beat like a heart, pounding at my skull as I fell through the bottomless abyss.
I couldn't remember why I was falling or why my head hurts so much, but I can remember who I am... Well I think I can.
I am... goddammit.
Retract that, I can't remember my name. Let's see... I remember that I have arms, fingers. I remember that I was in a lab of some sorts... I remember hooves- wait hooves?
I look down at my "hands" as I keep falling. Instead of the meaty fingers I would expect, I was greeted by a black hoof with my "arm" being a green thick stick instead of a meaty stick (that sounded wrong).
You'd think I would be freaking out right now, I mean, who wouldn't freak out when their hands gets replaced by a set of hooves? Well thankfully my head hurt too much too freak out, perks of being fling across dimensions I guess. Wait did I mention that I was 50% sure that I wasn't in the same dimension? No? Well I has 5- wait was that a tentacle? 90% sure I wasn't in the same dimension.
After getting a slightly better look at my new body, (you'd think that having longer neck makes it easier to look behind you but I guess not) I realized that my "coat" was a dark shade of green and my hair (mane) was a VERY dark shade of green.
"So... Am I a grass type or..." I said, sarcastically. You would think being green makes you a grass being, but Rayquaza already has disproven that theory.
Anyways, It's been a few hours of falling through a see of nothing now and from what I gathered, it seems that I am alone in this void (no shit Sherlock). It also seems that I have gotten faster and faster while falling, which is a good and bad thing. Its a good thing because I'll be able to get out of this void (if I can that is) much faster, bad thing is, my body won't even be recognizable when it inevitably smashes onto he ground, so yeah.
"This is... Really boring. Who knew? Eh while I'm here might as well get some sleep,"
I tried to "lay" on the air (don't ask me how), in the process of trying to lay in the air I put my legs? Arms? Stubs together in a crisscross manner and tried to place my head above them. Instead of my head touching then I felt a hard object touch them instead.
Of course, as any normal person would do in that situation, I screamed like little fucking bitch.
"WHAT THE FUCK!" I screamed out in a high pitched tone while jumping up like a cat (fuck physics I guess).
"Oh! It seems that I have scared you, I am terrible sorry."
"Wait who are you?" There was another person here? And why does she look like she's not even falling? She looks like she's floating, wait am I going insane?
"You need not to know that my child, because you are approaching your destination,"
"What destination?" I questioned.
"You'll see soon enough my prince,"
"My wha-" I suddenly felt air gush around me as I fell through a portal and into a blue sky, far above the ground.
I closed my eyes as the rays of the sun beamed into my eyes, I tried to slowly open them again only to close them as I saw a forest rapidly getting close and closer.
Well, I was screwed. I was going at about 1000m/h (I think) straight into a forest, best case scenario my body gets torn apart, worse case the forrest disappears with me.
Well that's what I thought until I actually hit the ground.
wake up,
"Huh?"
You need to wake up,
"Why?"
They need you, for one,
"Who needs me?"
Second, if you don't wake up a pack of hungry timbers are gonna maul you apart in 3 hours.
"What-"
The moment I hit the ground, I was surprisingly uninjured for the most part,(maybe because of shock who knows?) I did kinda blackout , but nobody isn't invincible okay?
I woke up a few hours after the crash, the moment I did I looked around my area. There where multiple trees burning down to ashes, multiple pillars of stone protruding from the ground around me and oh did I mention I was IN A CRATER.
The crater was about 1 kilometer in circumference (I know, math, bleugh ) and 1/2 kilometers deep. The crater was also suspiciously surrounded by walls of dirt about 10 meters in height,
"augh my civil engineering studies were showing again " I thought to myself, wait civil engineering? What the fuck was that?
I brushed of my confusion and tried to stand, unfortunately it seems my legs are trapped in dried red mud, I mentally notes that blood can make mud apparently. After a few minutes of trying again and again to pull my legs from my muddy prison I decided to just give up rest for a minute.
That was the wrong move.
I heard growls behind my flank. I quickly turned around but my body reminded me that I was still stuck in mud by way of almost breaking my neck. With the limited vision I have since I wasn't particularly flexible, I noticed a pack of strange wolves that were made of wood and sticks, there were about 16 of them in total, seems like it was a large pack, it also seems like it was a hungry pack.
They inched closer and closer to the edge of the crater, it seems like they were using each other to climb over the dirt wall. I was, how do I say this, COMPLETELY FUCKED.
I tried with all of my child like power to pull my legs out of the dried mud, the more I tried to pull, the more I felt my fur getting caught in the mud. If I was gonna pull my tiny legs out of the mud, I would need to brace for a not-so-fun waterfall of pain that was inevitably gonna happen even if I don't decide pull my legs out.
The snarls were coming closer and closer, and tears were now flowing out of eyes as the pain coursed it way through my brain, it felt like one of those wax things thay you put on your legs and pull off but imagine it 100x more painful (and 100x more slow). Finally after some pulling, one of my forelegs came off and I could finally use it to break the mud from my other legs, yes it was bleeding like a river but it's better than me getting mauled okay?
"Come on! Come on dammit!" I said to myself as I stomped on my other foreleg. After some time it decided to finally break off and leave my leg alone. I looked behind me again and I quickly regretted it as five timbers where now 100 meters away from me.
fuck
It was a normal day for Twilight sparkle, she was reading books on the second floor of her house, the books she borrowed from the library were about magic and cutie marks, she decided to bring them back home as the library was too crowded.
Her brother, Shining armour was right beside her, trying to convince her in vain to go outside and try to explore nature.
To Twilight, that idea seemed insane! Why fo outside when you can learn!
Well she thought that until a crack in the sky suddenly appeared. Looking out of the window, Twilight saw what looked like a crack in the sky,
A crack? In the sky? She must be seeing things!
Seeing things she was not, as the crack suddenly exploded and sent out a gust of wind so powerful that trees were uprooted and flung across the air, thankfully missing civilians.
"TWILY!" Shouted Shining armour, grabbing Twilight before the blast hit the window, shattering it along with the wall that held it.
Both of them stood wide eyed as they saw a streak of white that was accompanied by a flaming object, said object was now rocketing towards a dark forest right below Canterlot, the Everfree.
After a few moments, Twilight walked over to the hole in the wall and looked over to where the object was, the crack was now gone. The object went out of site as it hit the forest with a explosion that shook all of Equestria, maybe even all of Equus, causing a large tremor to be made.
The tremor reached Twilight as the building shook, almost collapsing. Shining grabbed Twilight as they both huddled under a table for safety. After a few moments the tremor stopped, but they did not leave from under the table in fear of another tremor occuring.
After what felt like years, they both suddenly heard a frantic knock on the front door below.
"Twily? Shiny? Are you both okay?" Said a frantic voice, both of them realized that it was their mother that was calling them.
"Mom? What happened? Why was there a tremor?" Asked Twilight.
"We don't know dear, are the both of you okay?"
"Yes we're both fine mom, are you and dad fine? Did any of you get injured?" Said Shining armour, clearly concerned for his parents safety.
"We're fine Shiny, quickly! Get out of the house! It may suddenly collapse dear!"
"Okay mom!"
Both Twilight and Shining opened the door and was met with both of their parents, blood was flowing out of Velvet's face because of a small cut on her forehead while Night Light was panting heavily with bruises all over his body.
"Mom! We need to get you to the hospital! Your bleeding!" Said Shining.
"Don't worry about me dear, both me and your father still need go help our neighbors, I need you to go to a shelter quickly," She said, "We'll meet up with the both of you after we help them, okay?"
"Okay mom, please be careful."
"We will,"
Shining armour quickly grabbed Twilight with his magic then galloped towards the shelter nearby, his parents going towards the opposite direction and helped their neighbors.
"Shiny? Why was mom bleeding?" Twilight asked in a shaking voice, "Is she okay?"
"She'll be okay Twily, just close your eyes and rest okay?"
"Okay..." Twilight responded, drifting into sleep as Shining levitated her to his back.
"My majesty!"
"Yes, I already know my subject, how many were effected?" Celestia rose from her seat and started to gallop out the castle to help her ponies.
"We still don't know the exact number princess, but we estimate it to be in the hundreds of thousands. What are your orders?" The guard questioned besides her also galloping.
"Get all guards to help in the evacuation effort, I will help in the efforts as well." Said Celestia.
"Okay my majesty, I will order the guards to do exactly what you told." The guard stopped and stood in place behind the princess and started to smack the underside of his spear towards the ground as a show of respect, and galloped towards the barracks of the castle.
After a moment of galloping Celestia opened the door of her castle that led outside and asked herself, "What could possibly cause this much damage, especially so far away?"
I quickened my breaking of the mud as the wolves started to close in, only one leg was remaining and I put all my efforts into that legs escape. Unfortunately before even one stomp was made, I felt a claw dig itself into my side, one fo the wolves was now right next to me with it's claws stuck inside my body.
I screamed and fell on my sides as the wolf pounced and tried to pin me towards the ground thankfully missing in the process. There was now a large wound on my side, flowing with blood. I cried as the pain was slowly numbed out by my adrenaline. Since the wolves were now much closer than I thought, I decided to go for it and forcefully break the mud without the help of my other hooves. I winced as my last remaining leg broke through its muddy prison.
As I looked up, seven wolves were now circling me, ready to pounce at any moment.
Is this where I was gonna die?
No! I escaped hell once before, I can escape it again!
As I tried to stand one of the wolves pounced at me, jaws open and ready to bite my neck off. I rolled into a ball and dodged the wolf just in time, I stood up and leaped to my left as another pounced at me. I slowly retreated but was met by another wolf behind me, I quickly ducked as it tried to bite my neck, one of wolves then pounced at me again and I grabbed the snout of the one who tried to grab and used it to jump into the air. I back flipped and rolled away from the wolves.
Fifteen wolves were now in front of me in a half circle, I quickly glanced behind me and saw the dirt was only 100 meters away from me. Three wolves tried to pounce me but thankfully I jumped on time and all three pounced into each other, they winced shortly after. This kept repeating until my flank was right at the dirt wall, I looked up and I only saw dirt for meters, I either had to climb or punch my way out of this, both were risky.
One tried to slash at me but I ducked and it slashed at the wall behind me, taking a chunk out of the wall in the process. I used the opening and jumped towards the wall and stepped on the missing chunk, it wasn't stable but it was good enough to help me jump again. I quickly jumped again and hoped to any god out there that I would somehow reach the top of the wall with two jumps.
I closed my eyes as I started to descend but my hoof thankfully grabbed onto something. It was the top of the dirt wall.
I hurriedly tried to climb to the top as my grip slowly wained and slipped ever so slightly. As I peeked my head above the dirt wall I looked behind me towards the wolves as I observed them closely, counting each one.
The first was at the front of the pack, trying to bite me.
The second was slightly behind, getting ready to leap towards me.
The third tried in vain to get to the front of the pack only to get scowled at by the first.
The fourth was waiting patiently for the others to get me.
The fifth was trying to become a stool for the sixth to try and grab me.
The sixth was using fifth as a stool and tried to slash at my back legs, thankfully I managed to swing them away on time.
The seventh looked almost defeated, not even approaching near me.
The eighth was trying to taunt me to come down, all was in vain and it soon gave up.
The ninth tried go dig the dirt wall under me, it only covered itself it dirt.
The tenth, looking distraught tried to growl at the other wolves, trying to tell them something.
The eleventh tried to shut the tenth up by way of clawing at it's mouth.
The twelfth tried to calm the rest.
The thirteenth tried to drown the others out, covering it's wooden ears.
The fourteenth tried to run away, but it ultimately failed..
The fifteenth wolf was at the back of the pack, eyes seemingly wide open and looking straight through me.
The sixte- wait where's the sixteenth?
As I tried to recount the wolves below me, I heard a devilish snarl. I tried to brush it off as my imagination getting the better of me, but I was quickly put back into reality as another snarl, this time much closer than before.
"No... Oh god please no,"
I looked in front of me, my head barely peeking above the dirt wall.
And there the wolf was, the sixteenth wolf.
Laughing at me.
Mocking me.
Salivating at me.
It then slowly approached me, and smiled as both of our snouts touched, it's eyes now only a few inches from mine.
It then put its paws on my hooves, and it started to grip.
It gripped and dug it's claws into my hooves. Tears where overflowing as the wolf started to smile manically and lick it's lips. Both of my hooves slowly where now loosing feeling and loosing grip to the dirt wall.
I tried to plead with it but to no avail as it only smiled. It only smiled a wide, toothy smile as it let go of one my hooves and put its paw on my face.
I screamed out in pain as the pushing got stronger and stronger, one of my hooves still getting gripped by the beast. My hoof started to rip apart as I looked on with horror.
"No, no no! I don't want to die!" I scream out, but nothing came, I tried to scream for help, but nothing came, I tried to use magic, wings, both!
but nothing came
As I slowly resigned myself to my fate, the wolf finally tore off my hoof as it cackled manically,
And pushed me, towards the pack below.

DENIAL 2: I guess this is happening
Darkness.
Darkness is the only thing I see for miles.
Am I... Dead? If I am... Why can I still see?
I look down to my hooves and see nothing, I try to look at my flank but I see nothing. I tried to grab my mane and I felt,
Nothing.
I started to walk aimlessly, slowly at first, then I started to canter, and finally I galloped.
I didn't want to die! After all of my hardships, I die by way of wooden wolves? That isn't fair! I wanted to die honorably, or as honorably as I can anyways. I wanted friends, I wanted to learn, I wanted to love.
And it was all taken away from me twice. Once by them, now by wolves. I hated it, I despised it. While the others sat around doing nothing, I learned how to use magic. While the others cried and pleaded, I was silent and unmoving. While others smiled and made friends, I grimaced and pushed people away.
Why? WHY?
I DID EVERYTHING THEY ASKED FOR AND WHAT DID THEY AWARD ME WITH?
Nothing.
I stopped in my tracks as I looked at the object Infront of me. It was a green orb like object. The mere sight of it gave me hope.
I slowly walked over to the object. The green orb seemed to cower away from me, I couldn't blame it, if someone did what I did and approached me, I would cower away too.
The orb suddenly stopped moving away from me and just hovered there, motionless. The closer I got, the more energized I seemingly got. I inched closer and closer until my muzzle touched the orb. The moment I touched it, I felt a surge of energy course it's way around me.
I looked on with confusion as the energy glowed around me and reformed my body. My legs, my barrel, my face, my flank, everything started to materialize right infront of me. My confusion grew more and more as I felt the walls of darkness close in, almost crushing me. However, I was oddly calm. It felt like the more my senses returned, the calmer I got.
My sense of touch, my hearing, my sense of smell, sense of taste, my eyesight, all of them returned. As they returned I slowly realized where I was, I was in a wolf.
I looked at my hooves again, this time I only saw a mangled set hooves, bits and pieces scattered around my cramp enclosure. I tried to touch my face but to no avail, as I only felt bone and blood. I looked at my flank and saw my spine strewn, my back legs seemingly gone.
It seems like I got mauled, but that wasn't possible, if I got mauled I would be dead right now! But, maybe I was? I tried to move and thankfully did. As I did however I felt the wolf shake and cough uncontrollably. I tried to move some more and the wolf fell and I felt it convulse on the ground. Finally, I decided to kick the walls that were trapping me and I heard a whimper. I kicked it again, and again, and again. My barely recognizable front hooves ached and pleaded with me to stop, but I didn't. I kept kicking- punching? - kicking and kicking and I felt the wolf cough up blood.
Then an idea came to mind, what if I use magic inside here?
Insane idea right? But since my hooves were in this state, the only option was lighting up my horn and give magic a try.
And so I did.
Princess Celestia was on a mission to investigate the massive tremor that happened in the Everfree, Princess Cadence joined along, requesting to accompany her auntie in case of something dangerous lurking in the woods. Celestia happily obliged, though being thoroughly confused as why Cadence needed to use that excuse of all things, Cadence only replied with a pout and nothing more.
As they walk through the Everfree with a battalion of guards protecting them from every direction, they cautiously looked around them as both felt a huge magic surge in the horizon. All guards suddenly formed a circle around the both princesses and casted a multi layer shield, said shield cracked soon after only leaving one fully intact layer. After a few moments most of the guards either passed out or was vomiting on the ground from the immense strain on their body. Princess Cadence suddenly ran off to the direction of the surge and Celestia followed soon after.
Both knew what the only cause of the magic surge was, but only Celestia knew the true danger.
She was back.
She couldn't believe it, but it's the only explanation. She was the only one that was powerful enough to blast a hole through dimensions and cause a tremor so large it spanned all of Equestria ten fold.
Celestia once tried to use the elements on her, but to no avail. The elements deemed her to be "good". Celestia couldn't fathom how her all of ponies would be on the side of good, well that's what she thought until that night.
She still doesn't know why she did it, the worse enemy of Celestia, giving her life to save-
She stopped that train of thought when she felt a nagging feeling deep down on her stomach, something was wrong. She heard multiple growls in the distance followed with whimpers soon after. She needed to hurry.
Smoke filled my lungs, or atleast what's left of them anyways. I used my magic recklessly and melted the wolf I was inside in, it's wooden parts still burning into my mangled hooves. I used gravitational magic on myself as soon as I saw multiple wolves jump at me, swiftly leaping in the air I charged up multiple runes and blasted three wolves, all melting shortly after the blast.
"How am I doing this holy!" I exclaimed.
As I floated above the wolf pack I soon realized that some were all running away from me in fear. I quickly casted a shield and stopped their retreat. I slowly floated down to the ground and looked around once more, the pack was now circling around me waiting to pounce, unfortunately for them I was high on adrenaline and made the stupid decision of using teleportation magic to appear infront of them and punched- kicked one wolf on the snout using gravitational magic to enhance the punch. Time froze as my punch connected to the wide eyed wolf, in a fraction of the second it's body cracked open and burned into flames at the same time, flinging the remains to the shield, only leaving a green orb in it's wake.
"COME ONE YOU DAMN TREE'S! IS THAT ALL YOU'VE GOT?" I shouted flailing my hind legs above while levitating off the ground (I didn't have back legs to stand on okay and I always wanted to do that pose).
One wolf pounced at my back but was easily swatted away by a protruding tentacle, completely eviscerating the poor wolf. The entire pack decided to rush me at that very moment, seemingly as a last attempt to subdue me. Sadly for them it was in vain as multiple tentacles pierced the skulls of the wolves and they slowly melted from my magic that was emanating immense heat. All but one survived the commotion and I decided to humor the wolf and turned off the runes that seemingly appeared throughout my body while I was fighting. The wolf took that moment to leap towards me but I swiftly ducked and kicked it's belly when it passed over me, it flew high in the sky as my kick connected. I looked on in amazement as the wolf seemingly froze in the air above me.
"Oh I need to do something cool, I can't pass this perfect chance up!" I said with excitement flowing through my voice, "Hold on one second."
I kicked the ground with my mangled front hooves and multiple large runes suddenly appeared out of thin air, emitting a strange blue glow and seemingly made the surrounding darker.
"HOCUS POCUS!" I shouted and the runes started to glow brightly as a beam of energy engulfed me and the wolf above, completely and utterly disintegrating the wolf down to atoms.
I was COMPLETELY ECSTATIC! WHO WOULDN'T BE WHEN YOU JUST DID AN ANIME MOVE? I jumped in joy but stopped as I realize that I still don't have my back legs and my spine was still dangling down from my front half, yuck.
I decided to just fain ignorance to my current condition and looked around the scarred landscape around me, the shield now slowly dissipating. Multiple green orbs hovered above the ground, there were 16 in total. I don't know why but upon seeing the orbs my mouth started to water and my stomach decided to grumble at that moment.
Shrugging, I levitated one orb and chomped down. It tasted sweet with a tinge of sour throughout it, MY FAVORITE! I quickly gulped down the piece I ate and got another bite of the orb, completely eating the whole thing in tow bites. The mixture of flavors danced around my mouth as I levitated the rest closer to me and started to greedily chomp down on all of them. A perfect snack after a fight.
After an embarrassing couple of minutes, I completely chewed the last piece and laid down on the hard charred ground. I was completely full and I think I was having a food coma, I drifted in and out fo consciousness as I heard a gasp not far from me and the sensation of a pair of hooves lifting me off the ground and cradling me against a soft coat, the last thing I saw was a pink pony wearing a crown, a concerned look on her face as I finally went to sleep.
Princess Cadence quickened her pace as she heard the sounds of whimpering and sounds of magic being used relentlessly. After what felt like centuries she finally came across a clearing and saw an unbelievable sight.
A impenetrable shield laid in her path, a shield that looked so complex yet so simple, a shield that looked so frail yet felt empowering.
She shook her head as she tried to look into the shield, her eyes suddenly closed shut as a timberwolf was thrown in her direction, the wolf being completely disintegrated the moment it touched the shield.
She opened her eyes again and saw a body of a mangled filly on the ground, crying a waterfall of tears and seemingly whimpering. The filly was mangled beyond belief, her front legs were completely detached from her body, half of her face was bitten off and her flank area was seemingly missing, her spine dangling not connected to anything.
The sight almost made Cadence puke out her intestines, but she held it in as she thought of something else.
'Why was this little filly here? In this condition no less.'
She put her hoof on the shield as she observed the filly. The filly was seemingly shouting to the air,
"COME AND GET ME YOU FUCKING PIECES OF WOOD!" A set of manic laughter soon followed as a wolf pounced at the filly.
"No!" Cadence shouted, only to be stopped as she saw a tentacle pierce the wolf and burned the poor animal to a puff of hot steam.
She saw the rest of the pack quickly pounce the filly, she closed her eyes to not see the gruesome sight. After a few moments she heard a light sizzling as she opened her eyes. Most of the wolves were completely eviscerated, only one was left. The last remaining wolf pounced at the filly, Cadence looked on with confusion as the filly ducked with strange precision and kicked the wolf into the air.
'Okay that doesn't even make sense, how can she duck?'
She shrugged the thought away as she saw the filly kicked the ground, multiple large runes appearing out of thin air around the filly,
"HOCUS POCUS!"
Cadence immediately felt the large spike of magical power and quickly casted as much shield spells as she can as a large pillar of light and magical energy descended from the sky with a loud 'CRACK!'.
The filly and the wolf were engulfed with the energy as cadence braced with all her might. The shield that was infront of her vanished as she felt the entire force of the explosion, flinging her a good 5 feet off the ground. She quickly used her wings to stop her momentum and watched on with concern as the ray of light continued to pummel both of the entities below.
"Cadenza!" Her auntie suddenly shouted from below her, the mere uttering of her 'true' name sent shivers down her spine as she glided down to her aunt, "What were you thinking? You could've gotten hurt!" Celestia said with concern and strictness.
"Im sorry auntie! I saw a filly fighting a pack of timberwolves and panicked!" Cadence explained.
The confusion on Celestia's face was evident, she looked towards the beam of energy behind Cadence and got closer.
The ray of light slowly dissipated as Celestia looked on with horror as she saw the mangled corpse of the fill on the ground, both her and Cadence almost puked at the sight of the corpse on the ground.
Both however looked on with an even more intense look of horror as the burned corpse started to move and gained its green coat in a matter of seconds. Multiple green orbs hovered around the filly, one was slowly levitating towards the filly.
She then comped down on the orb as both Celestia and Cadence looked on with a mix of horror and confusion. The filly seemingly squealed at the apparent taste of the orb and greedily munched on it, completely swallowing the orb in tow bites. The rest of the orbs rocketed towards the filly and she hastily chomped down on the rest.
Cadence tried to approach the foal but Celestia put a hoof out to stop her niece.
"Cadence, that thing is dangerous!" Her auntie suddenly said, shocking Cadence.
"Dangerous!? Its a foal Celestia!" Cadence quietly shouted at her auntie.
"It is no foal, Cadence."
"What?" Cadence asked.
"That... thing, Is an old, ancient creature, a powerful one too!" Celestia explained, "That creature almost killed me long ago, I used the elements to try and subdue it and it just shrugged it off Cadence!"
"But that's impossible auntie! Nothing can just shrug off the elements!" Cadence said with pure confusion in her voice.
"That's what I thought too! But the elements deemed it a force of good! "
"Then what's the problem auntie?"
"The problem is that it cannot be trusted. Okay?" Celestia hurriedly explained, a clear and palpable fear coursed it's way from her voice.
Before Cadence could argue back, a loud burb suddenly interrupted the both of them. They looked on as the "corpse" was now suddenly intact, it's hooves repaired, it's flank magically reformed and it's face seemingly back to normal. The filly then laid on the ground and exhaled a loud but satisfied sigh as it closed it's eyes.
Cadence galloped to the filly. Ignoring the warnings of her auntie, she then picked the filly up with her hooves and cradled the young one with concern. She looked as the filly wore an expression of delight and snored loudly as she slowly cradled her.
Celestia wore and expression of mild confusion that was swiftly replaced with a one with pure delight if she saw the embodiment of cuteness.
"See? She's not dangerous auntie," Cadence said with a smile on her face.
"I will take your word, only this once." Celestia replied while nudging the filly, the filly let out a pout and wiggled into a comfortable position against the coat of Cadence, Celestia let out a small squeal as the filly did this and and giggled, Cadence following suite not long after.
'It seems like this young one is in need of both mine and aunties help, and I will not disappoint and neither auntie. ' She thought as she snuggled the little green filly and levitated her on her back, slowly trotting over to the band of guards that were panting and sweating all over.
'Seems like it's going to be a looooong day ahead of me. ' she said with a smile on her face.
