Sunset Shimmer would be considered, by many, a girl of many words. A hero of her school, a former demon, a guitarist, and a fan of technology. The latter two would be considered normal and believable for everyone. Despite her being born in another world where technology is almost foreign she has gained skills in working with machines both old and new.
Which is why today had her filled with some excitement as her friend Applejack invited her and their other friends to some old warehouse at the edge of the city. “So you’re family owned this place?”
“Eeyup,” said the human Applejack. “My uncle hasn’t used it in years and he wants to sell whatever is inside because the city wants to demolish and turn it into something else.” The group went inside after opening a huge garage door. Inside was dusty and had spider webs in a few places. Sunset coughed as the dust made her throat tickle. “Like I said, it hasn't been used in a while.”
“A while?” Sunset asked before looking towards what looked like a rusting old forklift. “More like never.”
The seven girls then started exploring the place opening crates and finding whatever was worth salvaging. Fluttershy managed to find a family of Racoons and escorted them out. Rarity found an old dress she knew she could fix and make better. As for Sunset she did find something. But not what the others expected to find. “Hey girls! You gotta check this out.” They followed her and inside another room they stopped in their tracks and gaped.
There in the room by another garage door was a large truck. It was white and had a few rust streaks on it. The trailer looked like it was capable of carrying automobiles but it had what looked like rockets attached to it. Applejack was flabbergasted. “Well ah’ll be… my uncle never said there would be a truck let alone one with weapons.”
Pinkie Pie raced up to it and began looking around. “Pinkie! Be careful, we don't know if it's active or not!”
“Oh come on Sunny. It can’t be that bad,” Pinkie said as she explored the cab. “Hey, what does this button do?”
Sunset and the others now panicked. “PINKIE DON-!”
Beep! SHEEEW! WOOSH! CRASH!
A rocket launched from the truck and blew through the wall of the warehouse. The girls stared at the wall for a long tense moment. “I’m sure that thing won’t destroy anything important right?” Rainbow asked as a distant boom sounded.
Meanwhile former Principal Abacus Cinch ran out of the café she was in and stared dumbfounded at the burnt crater with a few car parts and a couple of burning tires. “MY CAR!”
The girls quickly got a frightened pinkie out of the truck. “What did we tell you?” Sunset asked, glaring at Pinkie.
“Sorry,” Pinkie said sheepishly.
Just then a rumbling came from the truck as the girls looked at it. “Pinkie? What other button did you press?” Applejack asked.
“Nothing! I swear!” Pinkie replied.
Suddenly the truck began changing. The girls quickly got back in fear as the huge rig went from looking like a truck to a bipedal robot. The robot let out a yell and aimed what looked like a gun. “GET BACK! YOU FILTHY LITTLE-” The robot stopped as it looked around. “Wait…where am I?”
The tall bot looked around before staring at the seven girls in front of him. “Who are you humans? Are you with those black suits that took me and my team?” He then aimed his gun at them. “Answer me!”
The girls stammered but Sunset saw a strange but familiar symbol on the bot’s shoulder. “You’re an autobot right?”
“Who wants to know?” the Autobot responded as his gun started charging.
“I know your kind. I’m friends with Optimus Prime,” she said.
That did the trick as the tall bot lowered his weapon and stared at the girl intently. “Optimus? He lives?”
“Yes but not in this world. Who are you?”
“My name is Ultra Magnus, the leader of the Autobot Elite Guard.”
“Elite Guard?” Sunset asked.
“Yes, me and my team were tasked with protecting the city of Iacon before we received the orders from Optimus Prime to leave our planet. It wasn’t long before my ship crash landed here and our team was-” he stopped as his optics widened in realization. “My Autobots! They need me!” He attempted to stand up but then collapsed on his knee as sparks shot out of one of his legs.
Sunset ran up to him. “Calm down, you're not in a good shape. Maybe we can help you find your friends and maybe fix you up.”
“You help me?” Ultra asked. “If what you said is true about Optimus then I’ll accept your help. A friend to Optimus Prime is a friend to us.”
Sunset smiled and looked at his leg. “Looks pretty shot, but I think I can fix this?”
Rainbow ran up “Woah woah, you’re gonna fix this guy? He’s not like Flash’s car or AJ’s truck.”
“Wire, pipes, circuitry,” Sunset said. “Piece of cake. Besides, I learned plenty from Ratchet.”
Ultra Magnus looked down as the girl continued looking him over. “You’re not with those humans in black suits right?”
“No, why? Have they done this to you?” Sunset asked.
Ultra Magnus looked away. “Yes, my team was ambushed the moment we came into contact with humans. I saw them capture one of my best officers. I ordered my team to scan any vehicles they find and to separate until I gave the orders to regroup,” he explained. “But that was before I was ambushed again and I soon learned these people have been helped by our enemies.”
“Decepticons?” Sunset asked.
“Yes,” Ultra nodded. “They had one of Megatron’s best assassins helping them. I was fatally shot and just drove into the closest hiding place I can find before I powered down. I don’t know how they did it but when I find them I’ll tear up that con until he tells me where my crew is.”
Sunset placed a hand on him. “From one alien to another, I promise I’ll help you find your friends. Maybe I can reach Optimus and ask him to help but given the size of the portal to where he is that might be a challenge.”
“Yeah, and you can count us too,” Pinkie said as she ran up to them.
“That goes double for me,” Applejack said.
“Count me in,” Rainbow added.
“Me as well Darling,” Rarity chimed.
“Uh I can help too,” Fluttershy hesitantly replied.
“This might be dangerous but this could be enlightening as well,” Twilight said.
For the first time since his arrival, Ultra Magnus smiled. “Thank you.”
Meanwhile outside the warehouse a figure watched the interaction. The girl wearing casual clothes walked away from the building before pulling out her cellphone. “Agent Sweetie Drops to Headquarters. I believe I found the missing one.”
Author's Note
Just to show I'm not dead. A lot was going on in life plus another project in the works. Transformers One was awesome in my opinion. I might make my own chapter of Orion Pax and D-16 story with my own spin.
