After Spike, Spyro and the rest of the group left the Valley of Avalar to reach Warfang, they had spent quite a while making they're way through the tunnels to lead them there. Spike almost lost track of time because of how long they've been traveling at this point, he had a lot of time to think during it, but was feeling something was wrong.

Even if they were getting closer to Warfang, something was telling Spike that they should be ready for a big threat that will come, they've been on the edge since they woke up in this world again after finally being freed, and as they were finally reaching Warfang, Spike's feelings were getting worse.

Spike and the rest of the group were finally making it out of the tunnels and were soon coming upon a massive city that wasn't too far away, it was more impressive then what Spike's seen with the Crystal Empire and Canterlot, it looked so ancient, but it was also like a perfect home for any tribe who is wanting to help.

But as they were getting closer, Hunter could feel things below him, which was a good sign for them.
"I can feel the tremor on the ground, we're getting close." Hunter announced as he felt the ground to sense where they should go.

"Finally, we've been going through these tunnels for hours!" Sparx said with relief while Spike, Spyro and Cynder looked out a nearby window, and saw an amazing view of the Dragon City, Warfang.

"Wow... it's so huge.. Ember would be amazed with this place!" Spike said with awe as they turned back to Hunter for a little explanation.

"We've never been to this place before, how long ago was this built?" Spyro asked with a curious look which made Hunter reflect on it's history.

"It was made thousands of years ago by the Moles, in honor of they're friendship with the dragons. And before Malefor, Dragons were quite revered." Hunter explained while Spike just looked amazed hearing this.

"Man, I can't believe that we're in a place so ancient, I know we've been to other ancient places too but, this is just, one of the best things I've seen in a long time.." Spike said with awe while Cynder chuckled a bit.

"I take it your eager to see more of it once we find Ignitus, son?" Cynder asked with a smile while she walked besides him too.

"Why would I not be? This is the first place we've been too in a while that won't have so many monster's trying to kill us. Ever since we left the temple years ago, it's been non stop fighting for our lives since then until we were frozen, won't it be just a bit nice to be at a place where at a place that doesn't have everyone out for us for a while?" Spike asked as that's what it's felt like to him since they left.

"Oh I agree on that Spike, wonder if there are any other dragons out there aside from the guardians and Deathstorm?" Sparx asked with interest as they kept on moving through the tunnel's that nearly led them out of the place.

" I guess it will be nice, but do you really think Ignitus and the others will have a way to defeat Malefor? He's been a rising threat for years, and unless we find a way to stop him.." Cynder said with some concern before Spyro stopped her from saying anything else.

"Don't think about it Cynder, we'll find a way. " Spyro assured just before they all felt the ground shake violently from something big..

"Did you guys feel that?" Spike asked with a serious look while Hunter was looking around quickly.

"I felt it, Hunter do you know where that came from?" Cynder asked with worry while Hunter looked towards the exit and started to look worried about something.

"I'm afraid I do, come on, we must hurry!" Hunter said as he and the group quickly made they're way out of the tunnel's and emerged into the city. The Dragon City was even bigger then what they saw of it in the tunnels, it was something that just had history around every part of it.

But Spike didn't have the times to take in the sights of what's around them, Hunter lead them to a higher point at the city where they could see the view of the volcano that Malefor lies above, but from the mountain below, they could see something far more disturbing in front of them.

"It has begun.." Hunter said with fear while Spike and the rest of the group had a look of horror as they heard thousands of voices in front of them.

"Oh.. my.. Celestia..." Spike said terrified as the camera finally turns to what they're seeing, and it was revealed that an entire army's worth of Grublins and monster's Malefor's made was here to lay the city to ruins. They had dozens of deadly weapons and cannons alongside them, it was like they set foot right into a warzone the moment they arrived here.

"Looks like we will have to fight more monsters here..." Sparx said with an exhausted look while they saw them preparing to fire some canons at them.

"This way, quickly! And stay close!" Hunter shouted as he lead them away from the area just as it was starting to be attacked by the army which made Spike scream from almost being hit like it.

This was just like what happened back in Ponyville when he was kidnapped, only it's far worse, if Malefor has army's like these ready to strike, as well as Deathstorm making things tougher too, they may need more help them they think.

But as they were making they're way through the center of the large city, one of the fireballs hit one of the large buildings nearby, and it unfortunately crashed directly in between the direction the group was going with Hunter, while they were fine, they were blocked off from Hunter again as the building couldn't be moved.

"Hunter! Are you okay?!" Spike shouted from the other side while Hunter looked around for a way out.

"I'm alright! Don't worry about me! But you can't get through this way now! Go and find Ignitus! He'll most likely be aiding whoever's in danger!" Hunter shouted in response which they could understand.

"We understand, be safe!" Spyro shouted as they all turned around and started running through the next corner to find him, but before they progressed anymore, they could hear some people screaming for help as more of the buildings were catching fire.

"Help! Help us!" Multiple moles screamed as they saw that dozens of them were trapped within the burning building.

"Spyro, Spike, those moles!" Cynder said with fear while Spike tried looking for a way to save them.

"We need to get them out of there! Any ideas on how to get em out?!" Spyro shouted as Spike got an idea on what to do.

"Isn't it obvious? We need to get big supplies of water! Our ice may not be of help, it's heat is too much! We need to get some water to put it out, now!" Spike shouted as they looked around the area for a way to help them, and Cynder noticed something not too far from where they are that can help.

"There! That water line! We can use that!" Cynder shouted as she charged ahead of them to get it, and the two quickly followed behind while they felt the magic of they're chains starting to take hold, but they just tried to ignore it as this was far more important.

More Grublins and monster's began emerging from the ground to attack the city, and Spike didn't waste a single second to raise out his hand, and he used his Shadow powers to summon his Scythe again to deal with them quickly.
"Get out of this city!!" Spike screamed as he raised the scythe in the air and slashed it across the ground, and that sent a wave of shadow directly to the Grublins before it collided with them and sent all of them flying in an instant.

"Don't focus on them! Let's get the water fast!" Spyro shouted again as they turned to a nearby machine that can fill a small pool nearby the building with some water in it.

"Alright, ready? And.. push!!" Spyro shouted again as they all grabbed the lever at once and used they're strength to turn the machine towards the pool, and with enough endurance, they were able to get the machine to pour all the water they needed into the nearby pool which was one step closer to helping the moles.

But they had very little time to help now as the building was starting to collapse even more after another fireball had hit the place which made things even harder now.
"Come on! Let's not waste another second!" Spike shouted again as they took into the air with they're wings and flew over the part of the city to reach the building again, and with the pool full with water now, they needed to put it out quickly.

Spyro looked nearby to see if there was anything that could help with the water, and he luckily saw a small supply closet full of buckets they can use.
"There! Hurry!" Spyro advised as they quickly ran to the buckets to handle this quickly.

Things were getting even worse for the city as the Grublins were starting to invade all over it, what once was a very peaceful city that didn't have any damage done to it from what they've seen, now looked like it may become the ruins of another deadly battle that took place here.

But they weren't gonna let this happen to the city like it happened to the temple, it was one of few places that the people of this world could be safe at, and they weren't gonna make another mistake again.
"Let's take one bucket each! It'll make things faster!" Cynder instructed as they quickly flew to the pool and scooped enough water to stop this fire.

"Alright, now!" Spike said as they all flew in the air and tossed all the water in the buckets directly towards the building, And with each splash of water, it slowly but efficiently started to put out the fire so the moles can escape.

"We did it!" Cynder cheered as they saw the moles were finally able to get out of there, and they quickly flew back down to them to make sure they're alright.

The moles had went up to them with a look of gratitude, and they had felt so glad to be alive after all of that.
"Thank you, you saved our lives." One of them said with a smile while they felt proud for being able to save them.

"It was no problem, we're just glad your okay, but you should go find somewhere safe, or at least be able to help. Do you know where we can find Ignitus or the other guardian dragons?" Spike asked hopefully while he looked around for any signs of them.

"They're most likely going to take the fight to the army very soon, even if they're old, they're willing to risk they're lives to save the city, but you should find them near the citadel's near the west side of the city, but you need to be careful, this is a war we're in now!" The mole advised which they understood.

"Look out! They're sending in they're war machines!" A mole from the upper levels shouted as they could see the army outside of the city preparing to use them for more destruction. The mole took control of a nearby cannon it had, and began firing on the thousands of monsters there were to hold them off.

And hearing this made the group realize they need to hurry this up now.
"Look, we'll find Ignitus when we can, but for now, we need to stop those monsters from destroying the city!" Spike said seriously while they all took a moment to help them.

"If there's anyone who can fight, get them to the ramparts to hold the monster's back." Spyro instructed while Cynder finished for them.

"And anyone else who can't needs to find a place to stay safe, go!" Cynder shouted again which made the moles quickly take off to find a place to do what they were told.

"Be safe! And stay clear of Deathstorm! She'll tear you apart if she sees you!" The mole shouted as they ran off, and just hearing that name made Spike sigh sadly knowing what's happened with her.

"I still can't believe that Malefor took another dragon from Equestria, and tormented her before turning her into a monster like you mom.. she had no involvement with any of this.. and yet.. Malefor took so much away from her.." Spike said with anger as he was clutching his fist with rage knowing what he's done.

"Malefor will pay for what he's done to our world, and yours son, but we won't get anywhere by staying here!" Cynder replied just as another building fell down in the distance from the enemy fire.

"We'll talk more about this later! But we need to help that soldier fight off the machines! Come on!" Spyro shouted as they all raised they're wings and soon took off into the skies again to make it to the ramparts too.

Spike looked around the city as it was being attacked with sorrow, this felt so similar to how things was when Equestria was attacked, but far worse. Spike could see dozens of buildings being brought down by the destructive power of the army's just outside the city, and he just felt both sorrow, and anger from seeing all of this.

Malefor had taken so much from both Cynder, and everyone in this entire world, and in Equestria too. It was because of him Cynder had to suffer for so many years, he invaded Equestria to take another dragon and turned her into the next Cynder, and she's gone through even worse because of it.

It made Spike growl with anger knowing what's happened to both this world and his own, and he swore he'd make Malefor pay dearly for all of this. The three of them flew through the city while avoiding any incoming fireballs being shot through the sky, they could see the moles and any soldiers there was heading to the gates to fight back if any more got in.

And after a while of flying, they finally made it to the ramparts too so they could help the mole fend off the army of monster's, they could see Grublins trying to destroy the catapult the mole is using to destroy the battering ram that's being pushed towards the entrance of the city, and they needed to do everything they could to stop it.

"We can't let them destroy that catapult! Protect the shooter, and don't let any monster's near him!" Cynder instructed as they all dived down and prepared they're powers as they went in for a dive attack.

Spike made a cry of anger as they all landed down on the ground and created a burst of energy together from they're power, Spike raised his hand and used his Wind powers once more to form more Shuriken's, and he threw dozens of them at the monster's attacking the thing and took them down easily.

But they couldn't rest for a second as more of them kept appearing from the ground, along with more catapults and cannons from the army firing at the city too. Cynder roared at the monster's surrounding them and charged up a Siren blast before she shot it directly at them and knocked them off the ledge that they were near.

Spyro readied his Fire ability's again and shot streams of fire across the area while more of the flying monster's kept dropping in more of them, Spike quickly took into the skies and used his Fear powers too to summon his whip.
"How long do we have to hold out till they stop coming?!" Spike screamed as he whipped them all away which sent the monster's falling to the ground.

Cynder used that opportunity to lunge into the air too, and she quickly grabbed and clawed at they're faces one by one before she threw them down to destroy them.
"At least until the battering ram is destroyed! But don't think we're done when that's destroyed!" Cynder instructed while Spyro charged up his lightning again and shot multiple bolts directly at the last ones for now so they could rest for a moment.

"It's like it's a never ending battle! Was it always like this when Ignitus and the guardians tried to fight?!" Spyro shouted as they looked over the ledge, and could see the volcano in the distance again, while there was a very strong barrier of fire surrounding it so no one could enter, it would take some really strong magic to even make it through it, and then there'd be even more monster's waiting within those lands.

"I'm guessing so, but where are they anyway? Shouldn't they be helping out?" Sparx asked with concern while the mole kept firing at the many machines the army's had in the distance.

"Be patient Sparx they'll show up when they have the time! Let's just try and hold them off!" Spyro replied as they saw more was coming.

But as the mole piloting the catapult tried shooting another blast at the army, the thing was out of ammo and needed a reload.
"I need another reload of ammo! There's a switch just behind that pillar that will do it!" The mole shouted as he pointed just behind them to help them.

The group quickly made they're way to the lever behind the pillar as it looked like it would help like he said, and the three of them quickly grabbed it so they can destroy the next one.
"Three.. two.. one!!" Spike said with anger as they pulled it down which reloaded the catapult again from below, and the mole took one more aim at the next machine in front of them before firing at it, and the blast destroyed it which hopefully meant there will be less to worry about.

But they couldn't be further from the truth, as the mole saw that there was a siege tower carrying the monsters was taking aim directly at them.
"It's going to shoot! Get down!" He screamed which made Cynder tackle Spike and Spyro out of the way just as the ram shot a very large and deadly fireball at the wall before it hit it and destroyed more of the defenses.

And it got even worse as the tower carrying more of the Grublins and more lava monsters slammed against the walls, and the monster's soon started to make they're way onto the wall in order to bring the city down.

Spike and everyone else quickly got up from that tough blast, and they soon saw that the monster's were trying to get into the city again.
"Ugh, will this never end?!" Spike shouted with anger as they charged at the monsters again, and Spike summoned his Ice spear again and twirled it around before he jumped into the air, and slammed it down which sent spikes of ice shooting out of the ground before they hit the monster's directly to lessen the numbers.

"We can't argue now! We gotta destroy the tower before more monsters come in! There's another one of those dark crystals that's like the one from that Golem! We'll bring it down if we can destroy it!" Spyro instructed again while they charged through the army and prepared to attack.

"You know I have to say that together we all make a good team during situations like this!" Sparx complimented while Spike used his lightning powers again and rapidly punched the dark crystals to destroy them while getting even faster by the second.

"Sparx, while I'm glad to hear that from you, this really isn't the best time to talk about this!" Spike replied as he charged up another punch and delivered a powerful blast to destroy one of the dark crystals.

"It's nice to hear that Sparx, but I agree with Spike, this isn't the time right now!" Spyro replied too while he shot multiple Earth blasts at the rest of the crystals too, and that finally brought the tower down so the monster's could stop coming in for now.

"That should hold them off for now, we just need to destroy the ram now!" Cynder instructed again while they headed back to the canon which was taking aim at the ram as it was trying to burst down the gates.

"We need one more reload! hurry!" The mole shouted again while Spike slid around the next corner so they could hit the switch again to reload it.

"Just hang on!" Spike screamed while they all made it to the switch again, and they all grabbed it at once so they could finish the job.

"And.. now!" Spyro shouted one more time as they finally pulled the thing down which loaded up the canon one last time, the mole took aim directly towards the ram, and shot one last blast at it which finally destroyed it from breaking down the gates, and all the moles cheered in joy as they had more time to plan out how to take the rest of the army down.

Spike sighed with relief as they saw the gates being closed by the moles inside the city, even Hunter was helping out with closing the gates. But as they saw the army trying to break through, they saw some familiar friends they helped out earlier.

"Is that Prowles?" Sparx asked with surprise as they saw he and the other cheetah's had made it finally after thinking over the offer, they charged through the army around them so they could get into the city.

"Try holding the gates open for a bit longer! We got allies coming to help!" Spike shouted to Hunter who could see his tribe was finally here.

Hunter and the rest of the tribe made it through the army just in time as they had closed the doors so they can help out, and Hunter felt glad to know Prowles was here to help them.
"I'm glad to see you took the offer my friend." Hunter said proudly while Prowles went up to him with a look of respect.

"Forgive us for taking so long, but I'm glad to see you've all held the line, we'll do whatever we can to help you from here on! For Avalar!" Prowles shouted proudly as he and the tribe raised they're weapons.

"For Avalar!" The other's shouted with determination too while Spike felt glad to see they were here to help.

"Looks like saving Meadow really helped them huh? At least they'll help fight off the army now." Spike said with some relief as they still had the army in front of them to deal with later.

"Hey at least it can't get any worse right? What could be harder then taking on an entire flipping army?" Sparx asked with a proud look thinking nothing would go wrong.

But as irony for saying that, everyone soon heard a really loud, ear piercing roar which made everyone's heart sink, Spike's eyes shrank in fear as they all recognized who that roar belonged to, and it meant very bad news.
"Sparx.. I'm going to make you pay for saying that when this is over..." Cynder said with anger and fear as they turned back to the massive army coming from the mountain in front of them, and could see a familiar dark dragon flying directly at them with rage.

"I hate it whenever someone says that.." Spyro said with fear as they were backing up and were bracing themselves for the next tough battle they're going to be facing.

"Deathstorm..." Spike said with fear as they all saw she was heading directly too them with pure white eyes of rage, the dark crystals around her body and armor gave off a dark power from her. And Spike prayed they'd be able to find a way to stop her..

Hey guys thanks for reading this! Like I said in the last chapter, these next few ones will be very action heavy for at least 3 parts, this one focused on holding the army, the next will be holding back Deathstorm, and the last one will be on the Golem before moving onto the next part of the game.

This part of the game really did drag out to me to be honest, but I'm going to try to make things more interesting with the addition of Deathstorm here so it feels more personal for Spike, I have some surprises coming up for more of the story, and I hope you don't mind this being 3 parts.

But I won't slack on this story, I'm going to make sure it's done soon, I promise. I just hope you liked this, and look forward to more!
