After everyone was told of the threat of the Destroyer by Malefor, Spike, Spyro, Sparx and Cynder made they're way into the tunnel that lead them to the ruins of Warfang, it was a massive underground cavern that was like the one they had awoken in previously, only there was far more to explore.

There was 4 dragon statues at the gates that needed to be awakened in order to open them up so they could reach the Destroyer in time, and they didn't waste a single second to get moving to open them. Spike hasn't felt this much anger in his life ever since he found out what Malefor's done to his home.

The very thought of the Bloodstone Scepter being stolen, a dragon who had no involvement in this being tortured and turned into Deathstorm, and what he's done to his mother Cynder is something he can't get over. Even if he wasn't meant to be born, what they went through because of Malefor is something Spike won't let be forgotten about, he will make Malefor pay for this, no matter what.

Everyone jumped off one of the ledges that lead down deeper into the ruins, but there was plenty of room to fly around and see, there must be something that can awaken the statues, and they need to find them fast.
"Man, it's easy to believe that this place hasn't been entered in ages, this place looks even older then the city at this point." Spike observed as they landed down near a waterfall that had been caused by some of the broken ceilings.

"I know, it's amazing to see how much history there is of this place, everywhere around here has some ancient carving or structure carved into the place, it's amazing." Spyro said with surprise as they flew around the place to try and find anything to help.

"Why is this surprising you guys now? We've been to tons of ancient places like the White Isle or the Convexity dimension, which are all far more weird may I add, how come this is surprising you now?" Sparx asked with a confused look.

"Probably because after that massive battle we had with the Golem, Deathstorm, and Malefor's army, it's nice to actually be able to take in the sights of something before it was completely destroyed." Cynder suggested which they agreed with.

"Yeah, we barely got to see much of the Dragon City before it was almost fully destroyed in the battle, at least we were able to stop that army, but knowing that The Destroyer may completely burn the world soon is.. it's something we can't take the time for.." Spike said with fear as he looked at the Bloodstone Scepter again, and just questioned how much Malefor abused it's power for his own gain.

"I still can't believe Malefor is wanting to literally burn the world and kill everyone on it, what kind of world would there be if it's destroyed?" Spyro asked with anger at the thought of that monster.

"Probably one of fire, metal, and despair, that's the one thing we've seen from Malefor with both his army, and the place he resides, his entire land is burnt to ash and surrounded by a barrier of fire, I wouldn't be surprised if this is why he resurrected the Destroyer, so he can make the world exactly like the lands he's destroyed." Spike declared as they flew down to an ancient looking door that could help.

"Wouldn't be surprising, with what he's done, it all just leads up to it. But we can't let that happen, we need to get that door open so we can intercept the Destroyer with the others." Spyro said as they saw two torches right near the door that could help.

"Then let's not waste any time talking right now, care to do the honors?" Cynder asked as Spike and Spyro went up to light the torches up.

"With pleasure." Spike said with a smile before he took a deep breath, and he and Spyro shot some fire at the torches which lit them up, this somehow caused the symbol on the door to turn like a gear, but once that happened, the place began to shake a bit, and looking to they're right, they saw a similar looking wall turn into place, and it soon locked into it's missing spot like it was a place to climb for them.

"Where do you think that will go?" Sparx asked while they started heading to it.

"Only one way to find out, let's hurry this up, we can't let the Destroyer reach the volcano." Spike said seriously as they quickly took off and started climbing up thing to figure this out, but as they looked around the gear, they noticed some similar torches around the thing like the door they saw earlier, and that gave them an idea.

"Hang on a minute.." Spyro said as he suddenly jumped off the wall and fell down before the shackles caught him magically, but Spyro used that to his advantage, and he swung around the gear and used his fire to light up the torches that were sticking out.

That made the place shake again, and they looked over to the place they just were, and saw the door and stone structures surrounding it started lowering down and revealed that there was something there they could use.
"Way to go Spyro!" Spike complimented as they all jumped off and landed back down to see what's there.

They soon came upon a strange looking switch that was pointing upwards, and the thing that could activate it was right in front of them which made them curious.
"Hold on a minute.." Spike said as he simply went up to it and pulled down the switch, that somehow activated the device, and it shot a powerful gust of wind through the ruins, and as they looked at the draft, it seemed to lead back to the main gates where the statues are. And as they looked closer at the thing, they saw a strange crystal with the color of red on it which looked similar to Cynder's power of Fear.

"This must be one of the crystals we need to open the door." Cynder suggested as she picked it up, and it reacted to her in a way which showed it had a similar connection with Cynder's own powers.

"We could use this on one of the statues to activate them, and if that's the case, there should be similar crystals around here that will do the same thing." Spike concluded which looked to be the case.

"Let's take it back to the statues and see if that's true, come on guys." Spyro advised as they got ready to go back to see if this works.

"Now this is progress guys! Let's see where it leads!" Sparx declared as they all jumped into the draft and used they're wings to fly through it. They all flew very swiftly back up to the main gates where the other dragon statues were, and as Cynder looked at the one with the red eyes, she saw a similarity between the crystal.

She carefully placed the thing in the statue which actually activated it, the statue started to turn around and unlock a bit more of the gate, while another gust of wind shot through the ancient structures, and led to another part of the ruins.

"That looks to have done it, we need to get at least 3 more! Let's hope this helps us find them!" Spyro prayed as they jumped into the next one and began flying to the next area which had more water around it.

They soon landed near another ancient structure that looked like a puzzle of sorts, there was a strange looking device that looked like a key, but it was a bit too high in the air, and the way to unlock it wasn't too far ahead, and it looked like they needed to simply get the key to unlock a similar looking structure which could hold another crystal.

"Alright, this puzzle seems simple enough, but how are we gonna get that thing down?" Spyro asked as they looked above it, Spike looked around the place and saw a lever that was near a gate that was locked, but knowing he has Shadow powers, he could use that to they're advantage.

"I got an idea, hang on guys." Spike said as he ran to the gate and used his Shadow powers again, he turned into a gust of Shadow like Cynder can, and he phased through the gate before emerging on the other side, Spike laughed with surprise as he was able to do it, and looking at the lever, he grabbed it and quickly pulled it down to get the machine moving.

This was able to move the machine with the key down to where it needed too, and there was a small electric device that needed power, and seeing how simple this was, Spyro went up to it and used his Lightning powers to activate it, Cynder flew up to the top and helped move the thing right into the lock.

This worked exactly like how they thought it would, and the structure surrounding a similar looking crystal near another device that could shoot out the wind gust back to the gate, and from there, it seemed clear on what they need to do.

"Nice work guys! We're really doing great here as a team!" Spike said with a smile as he picked up the crystal this time, and like before, it activated the device which shot another gust of wind to the gate's again, and they all jumped into it to head back to the gate.

They soon made it back not too long after, and Spike put the crystal in the statue again which activated it, meaning there's only two left.
"Looks like the other 2 are on the other side of the ruins, we should get going fast." Cynder advised as they took off to the other part of the ruins which barely had as many nature like stuff to it, instead of the waterfalls and at the top of it, they saw a strange looking drawing that showed a powerful looking Purple Dragon..

"Guys? Do you see this?" Spike asked with concern as they flew up to it to see it closer, and it looked to be a depiction of the Dark Master..

"Is that you Spyro? They are worshiping you!" Sparx said with surprise as there were dozens of figures around it bowing in respect to the large dragon, but everyone knew it wasn't him.

"That's not me, it's Malefor.." Spyro said sadly as they looked around the ruins, and they realized something very important about it, all the puzzle's they've done that relates to they're different elements, it meant something important here.

"This must've been the place where he was trained, they had such high hopes for him." Spyro suggested as this looked like a former training ground the closer they looked at it.

"It'd make sense, this place looks to be as old as Warfang, if not older, we don't know much about the ancients, or the ancestors, but since Malefor was a Purple Dragon like me and Spyro, it's likely they used this place to test his different powers." Spike suggested as they flew around it more to find the next few crystals.

"It's hard to believe he's caused this much destruction during his quest for power, he became so bent on it, it made him far more powerful then any of the villains back in Equestria, I mean, this guys been trying to destroy this world for thousands of years, and if we don't stop him, he'll move onto other worlds like my own home too soon.." Spike said with concern as he held out the scepter to try and figure out how this happened.

"Do you think there was any history of him back in your world Spike? His threat was one of the biggest problems and would likely be known about in other worlds, you think the dragons of your world knew something about it?" Cynder suggested which made Spike think over it.

"It's possible.. but even if he was known, he was never brought up within Equestrian history, I'm sure Celestia and Luna would've known something considering how ancient they are, but it just makes me wonder what would've happened if people knew about him like this world.." Spike theorized as it's something that he can't stop thinking about.

"Maybe things would've been different, but we should just focus on what's happening now guys, we'll talk more about this later, we need to get those other crystals." Spyro said as they tried moving on from this talk for another time.

Spike sighed hearing that and looked at the scepter again one more time before putting it on his back, and just hoped he'd know more about this at some point.
"Your right, let's find these things." Spike said as they flew towards a lava filled area that looked to hold the next crystal they need.

After that conversation, the group proceeded to search everywhere around this cavern and find what devices there were that could lead them to the next crystal's, it was a large area full of tons of places to explore, and once they reached the lava area of the ruins, they all treaded carefully to find the crystal.

They were able to get the next crystal not that long after by bringing a heavy weight down to the other side of the lavafalls in the temple, and it opened up another structure which held another crystal, the ways through this place was actually rather simple considering what they've gone through so far.

They had done the same thing for a bit, while hurrying as fast as they could, Spike just had a lot to think over, he just wondered how they'd be able to defeat the Destroyer, it looked to be an almost unstoppable monster, and even with what they've faced before, this is something different, if they don't stop this monster, the entire world will die.

They searched across the area for quite some time, but they had soon found the last crystal, a lot of these puzzles involved they're elemental breaths that they needed to use to work around, and after having such a massive fight previously, it was nice to have something like this, even if they're under pressure right now.

Spike had went up to the last crystal after they solved the last puzzle they needed to do, and he picked it up so they can head back to the statues, he sighed in relief knowing that they finally got all of them, and they quickly started heading back to the gates.
"At least we'll finally be able to get Ignitus and the others in here, hopefully they'll have gotten the other soldiers here by now." Spike prayed as they flew through another gust of wind that helped them fly through the place easier.

"Knowing them, they probably have by now, I'm just glad to see they're alright after all these years, they haven't changed much either despite the war they've had to face since we were frozen." Spyro said as he felt glad to see they're friends again.

"At least they're okay you two, they may be old, but they're experienced, they should know how to handle these things with enough time." Cynder reminded as they landed near the door finally.

"Let's just be glad we can spend a bit more time with them before we face the Destroyer, let's just be sure to take in what we have guys, we never know when something is gonna be taken away from us.." Spike said with worry as he went over to the crystal and placed it in.

"Is that what it was like for you when you were taken from Equestria Spike?" Sparx asked with concern while Spike backed up as the door was activating.

"More then you know, we've all lost so much because of the Dark Master, but no matter what, I'm not gonna let him take anymore away from others, we're gonna put an end to him soon, he's had this coming for a long time." Spike said seriously as he took out the scepter and held it tightly to be ready for anything.

"Don't worry about it son, we'll stop him, we have to." Cynder prayed as they heard the doors opening up, and they looked ahead as they were finally moving.

The doors slowly had opened up and Ignitus, Hunter, the other guardians, and a few more dragons that were ready to fight had come through it, they looked ahead to a very long bridge ahead of them, and knew it would lead them to the Destroyer.
"We are getting closer, well done you three, there may be hope for us yet." Ignitus said gratefully as they all hurried as fast as they could to stop this monster.

Spyro looked down a bit and felt worried on how they're gonna be able to stop this, Ignitus was able to catch onto this, and he tried to help calm him down.
"I know what you are thinking young dragon, but have no worry, we will make it." Ignitus assured which made Spyro confused.

"I don't understand it, Malefor is trying to destroy everything, and yet you seem so calm?" Spyro asked as he looked up at him for answers.

"Malefor would not expend all this effort.. if he had not feel threatened." Ignitus answered which made Spike catch onto what he meant.

"But why would he?" Spyro asked with a confused look hearing it.

"Throughout history, there has been only two purple dragons, but Spike should be included here, since he was like you before he took on the form of a form like Cynder. Like Malefor, you and Spike's powers can go far beyond what you might imagine, he knows this." Malefor explained while Spike looked at his appearance.

He'd almost forgotten how much his form changed since Cynder's blood almost corrupted him, he looks far more like Cynder now then Spyro, but he still has the powers and ability's of both of them, he's had so much on his mind since he's been here and reunited with his real birth mother, he almost forgot about how he looked like after he was nearly corrupted.

"So Malefor's actually feeling threatened by us? Knowing what a purple dragon like us can do? He's doing this out of some level of fear?" Spike asked with a smirk as that's something he could mock about him later.

"In some cases, yes. Malefor couldn't chosen to be so much more, but instead he chose the path of evil, and the world has been spiraling in chaos ever since. Your existence is nature's way of balancing itself." Ignitus explained as they kept on moving forward.

"But the ancients believed Malefor would be different, and look what happened." Spyro replied as he looked around this ancient place.

"Malefor draws his power from destruction. And it is the only thing he knows." Ignitus answered which concerned them both.

"Why should I be any different?" Spyro asked with concern while Spike looked at his form again to see what could be different too.

"Because I know you Spyro, and your heart would not allow it. You and Spike have done so much to keep this world safe, and I believe you all are meant to bring about a new age.. an age of peace. And I do not see what role destruction will have in that age." Ignitus said as Spike took a deep breath and sighed again knowing this.

"Don't worry Ignitus, we'll make sure Malefor is stopped for good, he's caused too much destruction for long enough, and we will stop him." Spike assured as he twirled the scepter around to try and test out it's powers.

"We've come a long way from where we started in this world son, if there really is a way to defeat Malefor and Deathstorm, we need to find it." Cynder prayed as they were coming upon a door that led them to the place where they could intercept the Destroyer.

"We will find a way, but for now, we are here." Ignitus said as they finally came upon the door that lead out of this place, and they all headed through it to see what needs to be done, and Spike just kept on wondering what will happen once Malefor is stopped for good..

Hey everyone, hope you liked this! I know this chapter was shorter then most, but there wasn't much I could do story wise for this part of the game considering it's mainly another puzzle level of the game, it was nice to have something like this after all the fighting, and I tried doing that by adding in more interactions with Spike, Cynder and Spyro, I just hope the interactions didn't feel strange in a way, and feel free to tell me if something felt out of place.

I honestly think I can have the scene where the Dragon Lands are attacked be in an aftermath part of the story where we see Deathstorm's backstory and how she was captured, I've set up who she is a bit through some hints before, and I hope the reveal near the end of the game will feel like a good payoff for you guys, but if you have an idea on where I should put the part where the Dragon Lands are attacked, please let me know and I'll try to do it, if not, I hope it being in the aftermath chapters are fine.

There's only a bit more of Dawn of the Dragon to go through, so I hope you look forward to the last act of this story, thank you all for reading this, and have a good day!
