They couldn't mind control anyone, anymore. And yet... twilight was worried about what sour requiem was planning. Even though she hadn't committed a crime yet, she was definitely up to something. It was just the elements of harmony, the pillars and the two sirens. The pillars had insisted on being there in case things turned sour. Then, the portal activated. Out came sunset shimmer, and the three sirens still in their siren form. "Big sis's?" Asked sour requiem. "Hello baby sis." Said aria. "When are you going to stop calling me that?" Asked sour requiem. "When it stops being true." Said adagio "It's so good to see you!" Squealed sonata. "Good to see you too, sona." Said sour requiem. "Who's this young guppy?" Asked adagio gesturing at sweet melody. "That's my granddaughter. Your great niece." Said sour requiem. "Hello! I've heard so much about you from my grandma! She said you three were the best big sisters ever!" Said sweet melody "Well, we have been accused of being amazing. " said adagio "And of being truly awful beings" said sonambula "Sorry to break up this touching reunion, but are you going to tell us why you wanted them to come back here?" Asked Twilight. "It's about mom." Said sour requiem quietly The sirens looked shocked. Everyone else was slightly confused. "She's in a really bad way... and she likely doesn't have long left. I just wanted my big sisters to be there in case she..." sour requiem said unable to finish the sentence. Just then, the cutie map activated. It expanded, showing many lands beyond equestria. Then all of the mane six's cutie marks and sunset's hovered over a place in the middle of a large ocean with a few islands scattered about. "Twilight... do you know where that is?" Asked Spike. "No I don't Spike..." said twilight. "I know. Pack your bags kids, we're going to the siren kingdom" said sour requiem. Author's Note What do you think awaits them in the siren kingdom?
New facesView OnlineReturn of the sirensNew facesThere was a new bakery in Ponyville. Now this was unusual by itself. Why would a bakery open here? Sugarcube Corner already provided ponyville with their daily amount of sugar. Not that this discouraged pinkie of course. A new bakery meant that new ponies had moved to ponyville! And it was her responsibility as ponyvilles super duper party pony to plan them a "welcome to ponyville" party! First though, she had to meet them. So once her shift was done, she decided to go over to the new bakery and introduce herself. "Welcome to the Sweet tooth shoppe. For all your sugary needs. How can I help you?" asked the young unicorn mare at the counter. "Hello! I'm pinkie pie! I just wanted to come over and invite you all to a 'Welcome to Ponyville' party!" said Pinkie. "Pinkie Pie... Hey aren't you the element of laughter?" asked the mare "Yup!" said pinkie "Esteemed confidant of twilight sparkle, the princess of friendship?" the mare continued. "Yes!" said pinkie "Super duper party pony who works at sugarcube corner?" asked the mare "Yes! also how did you know that?" asked pinkie. "I have my ways. I'm sweet melody" the mare said, extending a hoof to shake. "Pleased to meet you! Do you own this place?" asked pinkie, shaking her hoof. "Nah. My grandma does though." said Sweet Melody. "Wow! Your grandmother's here too?! Is there anyone else I need to invite to the 'Welcome to Ponyville' party?" aske dpinkie pie. "Nah, It's just my grandma and me. Has been ever since I was little. My parents died and Grandma raised me." said Sweet Melody. "I'm so sorry about that..." said pinkie pie, uncharacteristically melancholy. "That's alright. It was years ago." said Sweet Melody. "Sweet Melody! Who are you talking to!" came a yell from the kitchen. Another unicorn mare emerged from there. Pinkie assumed that she was sweet melody's grandmother, although she looked much younger than she had envisioned in her mind. "Just talking to this here customer, grandma. Pinkie pie, meet my grandma, sour requiem." said Sweet melody "Pleasure to meet you" said Pinkie pie. "Hmph. Charmed I'm sure." said Sour Requiem. "Grandma, Pinkie here is inviting us to our complimentary 'Welcome to Ponyville party'" said sweet melody "She is, is she? Well I suppose that we might find some time in our incredibly busy schedule to attend" said Sour Requiem. "Sooo... That's a maybe then?" asked pinkie. "Where is this party?" asked Sour requiem. "At sugar cube corner." said Pinkie "Hmm..." said Sour requiem. As Sour requiem considered pinkie's proposal. Pinkie took the time to truly look at the two mares. They both had yellowish fur and if you looked at them, you could definitely see the family resemblance. Pinkie also noticed that they were both wearing necklaces with a red ruby at the front. Huh. That ruby looked kinda familiar... Before pinkie pie had time to remember where she had seen that ruby before. Sour requiem spoke. "Fine. We shall partake in your... 'welcome to ponyville party'" said Sour Requiem. "Super Duper! It's at sundown! See you then!" said pinkie as she left the shop "Bye, pinkie!" said Sweet Melody. Pinkie Pie then spent the rest of the day preparing for the party. She made refreshments, put up decorations, invited a good number of people. All that was left to do was wait for the guests of honor. And lo and behold! The two guests of honor strolled into sugar cube corner. "Surprise!" said everyone "Wow!" said Sweet melody. Sour Requiem just scowled and muttered under her breath. "Hi! How are you enjoying the party so far?" asked pinkie. "It's great Pinkie." said Sweet melody beaming. "Hmph." said Sour Requiem Just then pinkie pie's best friend's came up to them. "Are those..." asked sweet melody. "Yup! My best friends in the entire world! Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and the woman, the myth, the legend... princess twilight sparkle! Everyone, this is Sweet melody and her grandmother, Sour Requiem" said pinkie. "Wow! It's such an honor to meet the elements of harmony! and a princess!!" squealed Sweet melody, obviously trying not to explode from excitement. "Yes, It's such a great honor to be in the presence of such distinguished paragons..." said Sour Requiem. "You got a problem with us, lady?" asked Rainbow Dash. "You are friends with pinkie pie yes? Tell me, how do you handle her inane ramblings?" asked Sour Requiem. "Hey!" said Pinkie "Pinkie Pie can be a bit much sometimes, but she's a true friend through and through." said Applejack. "I'm sure she is... Princess?" asked Sour Requiem "Yes?" said twilight warily. "I heard that you've become an aunt! What a wonderful, joyous occasion!" said Sour Requiem "Yes, it was..." said Twilight "And is it true that the child was was simply... born an alicorn?" asked Sour Requiem "Why are you asking so many questions?" asked Rainbow Dash "Just trying to separate fact from fiction child. I merely wanted to confirm that the facts I heard were indeed true..." siad Sour Requiem. "They are, and flurry was born and alicorn." said twilight. "That's quite unusual, don't you think? All other alicorns earned their position, while flurry was just born with it." said Sour Requiem "We all thought it was unusual.. but I haven't had time to study it, with all my princess duties." said Twilight. "Quite a shame that. There's a reason for everything, and I'd like to know the reason why this alicorn had her powers from birth, rather than action." said Sour Requiem. "Maybe I'll look into it later and get back to you." said Twilight. "That would be simply wonderful your majesty." said Sour Requiem. After that, the party continued as normal. Sweet Melody introduced herself to a lot of ponies, and was well on the way to making more new friends. Sour Requiem on the other hoof, spent much of the party alone, only speaking to someone if they approached her and often making them wish they had not. Afterwards, Pinkie approached Twilight. "Hey Twilight... You know those rubies that our guests of honour had on their necklaces? I thought I saw them before, but I couldn't place it, and since you're the smartest person I know, I was wondering if you had any idea..." said Pinkie "I noticed them too Pinkie, and I know exactly what they were." said Twilight She teleported a book and opened it to reveal... "Unfortunately, we can't banish them. According to twilight, the realm that the original three sirens were banished to has magic now..." said Flash Magnus. "So what are our next steps?" asked Rarity. "I propose that we go over to them and try to figure out their intentions. We try to resolve this as peacefully as possible. I don't want ponyville to be reduced to rubble... again" Said twilight. With that in mind, they decided that only the mane 6 should approach the sirens, as they had met them before. They set off to the Sweet tooth shoppe. "Hello Pinkie!" said Sweet Melody "Hey sweet melody! Is your grandma around?" asked Pinkie "Yup. Why do you ask?" asked Sweet Melody "Oh, we just wanted to talk to the both of you." said Applejack. "Sweet Melody! Who are you talking to!" yelled Sour requiem "Just the elements of harmony. They wanted to talk with us!" said Sweet Melody. Sour Requiem emerged from the kitchen. "Talk about what?" she said "Oh nothing... except that we know that you two are SIRENS!" said Rainbow Dash Sweet Melody looked absolutely flabbergasted. Sour Requiem simply said "Hm... You're all smarter than you look." "H-H-How did you guys find out?" asked Sweet Melody "Let's not talk about how we know. Instead, let's talk about what we're going to do know." said Twilight "Whatever do you mean princess?" said Sour Requiem "I just want to know, why are you two here in Ponyville? What are your intentions?" asked Twilight "That's for me to know and you to never find out" said Sour Requiem. "Listen, lady! You'd better tell Twilight what she wants to know, or else..." began Rainbow dash "Or else what? Your merry band of misfits will tear us limb from limb? That doesn't seem very friendly now, does it?" sneered Sour Requiem. "Listen, Sour Requiem, I don't want this to turn into another siren incident." said Twilight. "When have you met other sirens" asked Sour Requiem "That's a funny story! A looong time ago, Starswirl and the pillars banished three sirens to another world that didn't have magic, but then thanks to sunset shimmer it did have magic, so the sirens tried to take over the world so twilight and her human realm friends teamed up to defeat them and they ran away." said Pinkie pie, all without stopping to breath. "Wait, wait, wait. Three sirens?" asked Sour Requiem. "Yes" said Twilight, slightly confused. "And their names were adagio dazzle, aria blaze and sonata dusk?" asked Sour Requiem "How did you know that?" asked Twilight "Do you have a way of contacting this other world?" asked Sour Requiem. "Yes. And why are you ignoring my questions?" said Twilight "I need you to get a message to the dazzlings." said Sour Requiem "What?" asked Twilight "Tell them to get over here as soon as possible. And tell them that Sour Requiem asked for them." said Sour Requiem. "Why?" asked Twilight "Once they get here, I'll be happy to answer any questions you all may have." said Sour Requiem. "OK..." said Twilight. she then teleported the book into the room and wrote a message to sunset shimmer. In the human world Of all the people the dazzlings expected to knock on their door, sunset shimmer was not one of them. "What do you want, shimmer?" asked Adagio "I got an urgent message from princess Twilight-" began Sunset "Not interested" said adagio as she began to close the door. "WAIT! she said you have to return to equestria immediately!" said Sunset "Still not interested" said Adagio "She also said that someone called Sour Requiem wanted to see you." said Sunset That gave Adagio pause. "What did you just say?" asked Adagio "That Sour Requiem wanted to see you?" said Sunset "DID SHE SAY SOUR REQUIEM!" said Sonata "Stop shouting sonata! But seriously did she say Sour Requiem?" said Aria "Yes..." said Sunset. "That's impossible." said Aria "Obviously it's not!" snapped Adagio "Who is Sour Requiem anyway?" asked Sunset. "She's our little sister." said Sonata

Then a bolt of magic shot at the sirens and turned them into ponies. "I thought it would be more convenient for all of us, if you look less... conspicuous." Said sour requiem. "If we must..." said adagio "Great! Now let's get ready to travel to the siren kingdom!" Said Pinkie Pie. They parted ways to go prepare. They would all depart for the siren kingdom in the morning. The next day Everyone gathered to take the train to the south Luna ocean. Thankfully the trip itself was fairly uneventful. The most exciting part of it was sour requiem catching up with her sisters. But eventually, the train stopped and they walked to the south Luna ocean. "We'll have to swim from here on out." Said sour requiem. "What about us?"Asked Spike. "I brought some pearl shards from seaquestria. We'll be fine." Said twilight. "Better save those till we're right above the siren kingdom. Wouldn't want to tire you out. You'll need all the strength you can get..." said sour requiem. "What's that supposed to mean?" Asked rainbow dash. "Nothing. Until then, we sirens will carry you on our backs." Said sour requiem. "Seriously?" Asked aria "Afraid you're not up to the challenge aria?" Asked sour requiem. "I'm always up to the challenge sour." Said aria. "Then let's get started." Said sour requiem. She turned the dazzlings back into sirens and they flew into the water. Then she and sweet melody got into the water and turned into siren form. "Don't just stand there. Hop on!" Said sour requiem. The ponies warily hopped onto the backs of the sirens. And then the sirens swam through the ocean. It took longer than the ponies thought it would take. But finally after what felt like weeks of swimming, they were finally in position. "OK. Now change into your sea forms and let's swim on down." Said sour requiem. Twilight did just that. Everyone changed into their sea form, and they swum down into the deep blue sea. They swum and swum until they could see glittering lights. The glittering lights turned out to be an enormous underwater city, with an gargantuan Palace at the centre. "Welcome to atlantis" said sour requiem. "After all these years... it feels weird to be back." Said sonata "For once you're right, sonata." Said adagio. "Let’s get to the Palace." Said sour requiem. They swum towards the Palace but were stopped by the guards. "Halt, who are you people?" Asked guard #1 "It is I princess sour requiem, alongside my granddaughter and the long lost triplet princesses, adagio dazzle, aria blaze and sonata dusk. We are here to see the ailing queen." Said sour requiem. "Who are these other creatures with you." Asked guard #2 "These are princess twilight of equestria and her friends, they are here on official royal business." Said sour requiem. After a few moments, the guards let them through. They swam through the opulent Palace that was decorated with all manner of rare jewels. Eventually they came to a pair of enormous pair of doors. Before they went in sour requiem spoke to everyone. "As you know mother is not feeling well... she is extremely forgetful, often repeats herself, and is very confused. If she starts mixing up the past and future, just gently remind her. OK?" Said sour requiem Everyone nodded and swum into the bedchamber of the queen. She looked... honestly terrible. She was unhealthily skinny, her scales were an unhealthy yellow pus colour, and her eyes were bloodshot. As they entered, she lifted her head. "Who goes there?..." she asked "It's me mother." Said sour requiem. "Sour... you have returned. And is that?" Asked the queen. "Hello mom." Said sonata. "So, the triplets return. I seem to recall someone," she said looking at adagio "saying that they would never return to atlantis." She then got hit by a coughing fit which took a while to settle down. "Well mother... things change." Said adagio. "I'm sure they do. Who's the guppy?" The queen asked tilting her head toward sweet melody. "She is my granddaughter, sweet melody." Said sour requiem. "You have progeny? I was not made aware of this." Said the queen "No, mother. You met my daughter flowing rhapsody many times, remember?" Said sour requiem. "Ah, yes. So I did. So this is her daughter? Who is her father?" Asked the queen. "A unicorn. I think his name was unusual archive?" Said sour requiem. "I see. So this child is an abomination?" Asked the queen. Sweet melody looked incredibly hurt at that statement. "She may be an abomination, but she is still family, so I am honour bound to take care of her." Said sour requiem. "Hmph. Who are these seaponies with you?" Asked the queen. "They are princess twilight and her entourage." Sid sour requiem. "Greetings, queen..." said twilight Sparkle. "You may refer to me as queen fieramente." Said queen fieramente. "Yes. Well queen fieramente, we were summoned her to help with a friendship problem." Said twilight "Fine. But if you are going to linger in our kingdom, then you might as well help us with the coming storm..." said queen fieramente. "What's that?" Asked fluttershy. "Sour requiem will fill you in.
