Chapter 1: where are we?

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

I woke up to the feeling of something on my belly. I looked down and saw a small squirrel on me. When it saw me move, it ran away. My head was hurting like hell, so I brought my hand up to hold my head and ease the pain. But when I touched my face, I thought, “What the...!?” I could feel a metallic helmet on my head, and my hand felt like metal as well. I quickly stood up and looked down at my hand, which was armored by a black gauntlet, with my palms covered by a cream-colored glove. I brought my armored hand to my face and took the mysterious helmet off my head. “Holy shit!” I exclaimed as I realized it was the Bloodhound Knight Helm from Elden Ring.

I was both worried and excited as I looked at myself from head to toe. I was fully armored with all my Elden Ring armor pieces. After finishing my self-check, I glanced around and realized it was nighttime, and I was in a dark forest. The beautiful sounds of the night reached my ears. I hadn’t been here before, but something felt familiar.

I was interrupted by a voice behind me calling out, “Blake? Is that you?” I turned around and saw Peter and Clyde behind me, both wearing their Elden Ring armors and holding their weapons.

Clyde had his Carian Regal Scepter in his left hand and his Moonveil sheathed on his left hip. He also held his Greathelm in his right hand, clutching it close to himself.

Peter, on the other hand, had a Giant Crusher that he held with both hands, leaning it on his right shoulder. His knight helmet was lifted up, revealing a shit-eating grin on his face.

My jaw dropped as I saw my best friends in their Elden Ring builds, just like me. “Why do you have weapons, but not me?” I asked, pouting.

They looked at each other for a moment, and then Peter chuckled, “Dude, are you blind or something?” He pointed behind me with his left index finger while holding the enormous hammer with one hand. I turned around and looked down, and my jaw dropped even further. Not far from me, I saw my Bloodhound’s Fang and two Bloodhound’s Claw, the weapons I used in my build.

My eyes widened, and a giant smile spread across my face. I quickly made my way toward my deadly weaponry and picked both of them up, being careful not to touch the sharp blades. I put one of the claws on my left hand and the other on my right hip, while the curved greatsword in my right hand, leaning it on my shoulder. It wasn’t too heavy, though. It seemed like we had brought everything we had in the game.

Finally, Clyde broke the silence. “Okay, does any of you know what the hell happened? We were going to fight Malenia, and when she fucked me up, my system crashed, and I got sucked into the screen. Now we’re here, who knows where. Did that happen to you guys too, the system crash and all?” he asked. Peter and I nodded in response.

“Yeah, I don’t know what it was, but I could see a blue mist around the screen when it crashed,” Peter explained, effortlessly holding his Giant Crusher. He was strong, maybe our stats had come with us too.

My eyes widened upon hearing that. “So you saw that too?” I asked as I walked up to them.

“Yeah, it was so strange,” Clyde said after putting on his Greathelm, his voice becoming metallic.

“Well, whatever it is, let’s talk about it when we’re out of this forest, shall we?” Peter suggested as he pulled his helmet down over his face.

I nodded as I picked up my helmet from the ground and put it back on. “Let’s go, lads.” Right after I said that, we heard a loud scream from the west of our location.

We all looked in that direction, narrowing our eyes behind our helmets. “Let’s go,” I ordered, and we ran toward the scream to help whoever needed it. I could tell it was a woman .

“Right behind you,” my friends said.

With our newfound strength, nothing could stop us. As we ran deeper into the forest, my mind raced with thoughts like, ‘How did we end up here? Why does this forest look so familiar?’ But for now, we just had to help the “woman” in need.

Little did we know that we were about to face countless foes and use our weapons to slaughter them.

“Any news, sister?” Princess Luna asked her older sister with worry as she entered the library. Celestia, sitting on a chair in Canterlot Castle’s grand library, shook her head.

“No, Luna, nothing,” the Sun Princess answered her sister’s question. The caribou had started their invasion two weeks ago, enslaving mares and killing any stallion who stood in their way, or making them work for them. They had already lost Manehattan and Fillydelphia, and they weren’t prepared for it. The Changeling attack on Canterlot was roughly a month ago.

After several minutes of silence, a letter appeared in front of Celestia with a “POP” and a green mist. She picked up the letter and started reading it. It was from her faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, and it seemed to be written in a hurry.

“We need help. The caribou have attacked Ponyville. SEND HELP.

  • Twilight Sparkle”

“What does it say, sister?” Luna asked, noticing the worry on Celestia’s face.

Celestia raised her head from the letter and looked at her sister with fear in her eyes. “Ponyville is under attack”

“What? The caribou?” the lunar princess asked, her voice shaking in disbelief. Celestia nodded her head. ‘How did the caribou got there so fast?’.

Celestia rose from her seat, her voice filled with urgency as she called out, “Guard!” In an instant, the library doors swung open, revealing a stalwart stallion adorned in resplendent gold armor.

“Yes, Your highness?” the guard responded, his tone respectful and attentive.

“Inform Captain Steel Blade immediately,” Celestia commanded, her voice resolute. “Tell him to gather all his remaining men and prepare to dispatch them to Ponyville. Its invaded by the caribou.”

“Yes, Your Majesty,” the guard acknowledged, saluting before swiftly departing to carry out his orders.

Celestia settled back into her chair and rested her head on the back of her seat, releasing a heavy sigh. She couldn’t afford to leave Canterlot. She had erected a powerful magic barrier around the city, and if she were to depart, the barrier would dissipate as well.

She could only hope that it wasn’t too late and that Twilight, her friends, and all the citizens of Ponyville were safe and unharmed.
