Chapter 30: Epilogue

Celestia stood on the balcony late at night, enjoying the cool night breeze as she waited for the energy she could sense nearby to reveal itself. She glanced back at the pony pile on the bed, Luna had used her wings as a blanket for all of them, covering the little ponies and dragon with her body heat and love. Celestia couldn't wait to get back into that pile herself, she wanted to cuddle so much.

A long-lost voice spoke from nearby, one that Celestia hadn't heard in many, many years. “Mom...”

Celestia looked over at Sunset. “Hey baby, Cadance told me about what you did. Thank you, you saved the day.”

“I'm sorry... I'm so sorry for how I left.”

“I forgave you the moment you hurt me. I know you never meant it.”

“I...” Sunset ran over into Celestia's embrace, and they held each other like that for a long time. “Traveling between worlds is so hard to do. I keep seeing horrible things, but I have to help, nopony else can.”

“Shh its okay baby. I am so proud of you, so very proud.”

“I'll come back and visit more often, I promise.”

“I sure hope you do, Luna would love to get to know you.”

They stayed like that, holding each other and talking for hours. It was the last thing Celestia expected but the one she needed the very most. Cuddles could wait, her baby girl needed her first. It was just so good that now that everything was taken care of, it could go back to relative normalcy. She was sure there was nothing they forgot.

Nothing at all.

It was late in the night, Sweetie Belle was staying at Applebloom and Scootaloo's house. She was having lots of fun, but she was hungry. She'd even eaten twice the amount of food as the others but she still felt so hungry, like the food wasn't doing anything for her.

Applebloom was sitting on the bed. “Hey, Sweetie, wasn't it weird how we all like, got stuck outside of town with Miss Cheerilee watching us?

Sweetiebelle nodded. “It was.”

“Weren't you the last one out of the town? Did you see what was going on? They said it was some kind of monster that ate fillies right?”

“No monster, just weird pink clouds, ponies kissing. It was weird.” The thought of the kissing though, it made Sweetie's body tingle in a weird way. “I ended up walking face-first into one of those clouds, it tasted and smelled gross.”

“Ew, must have been some kind of gas.”

“EW! Don't say that!”

However, Scootaloo had brought out an empty bottle and set it down on the wooden floor. “Hey girls, how about we play spin the bottle?”

Applebloom rolled her eyes. “Filly, that's a game fer kissing.”

“I know, hehe.”

“An' were' practically related now.”

“Doesn't stop Twilight and Celestia.”

Sweetie Belle felt something new in her chest. A heart-pounding sensation as she looked at her two friends. A sly grin began spreading over her lips. She licked her teeth, her teeth felt rather sharp tonight. “I'm in. Let's play some spin the bottle.”

Author's Note

And what story would be complete without a new horror movie monster being hinted at in the end... wait what do you mean this isn't a horror story?

Anyway, this was a bit of a nightmare with formatting, I had written it all on 4thewords originally but as it turns out, the download button for stories there is crap and I had to do a lot of work to reformat everything to make it readable. I sincerely hope that nothing got lost in translation from that, I don't think I missed anything.

With experimental stories like this it can be weird to figure out how to make them work. Hopefully this is at least tolerable in the end. And hopefully it made a few people smile and laugh, if I did that, then my job is complete.
