Chapter 1: Awakening

I slowly open my eyes, only to shield them from the bright light that immediately blinded my sight for a few seconds as I slowly start getting up.

"W-where am I...?" I asked myself in confusion as I looked around through blurry eyes, trying to figure out where I am as I blink my eyes to clear my vision..... Only to find myself in some green place....the ground is soft, like my bed at....the lab....

"This.... This isn't the lab, this isn't....home. heh.... Hehehe..... Hahahahaha! Freedom! FREEDOM AT LAST!!!" I shouted at the heavens with unbridled joy.

[Twelve minutes and 43 seconds of celebration later]

"Huff...huff.... Ooh...I had no idea how great it felt to run without something chasing me for once...." I muttered to myself breathlessly.

"Now....where am I?" I asked myself as I took a real look around myself. "This is like nothing I've ever seen before, so much green everywhere, and is that the sky? It's so..... beautiful..."

I couldn't help but admire everything around me, getting distracted with every sight, smell, touch, and every other sensation I could experience, so distracted that I didn't notice a large piece of Paper headed towards me through the wind.

"Amaz-Gah! What was th- oh." I exclaimed before taking the paper into my hands and taking a look at it, finding that the paper had a note written inside of it, the note reading.

Greetings, if you are reading this, you are a Displaced, but before I get into that, allow me to introduce my name, I am Pixel, I am glad you have received this letter, Leo-

"How does he know my name?! Is he the one to bring me here?" I exclaimed in surprise and slight panic before continuing to read the note.

  • now please do not panic, the reason I know your name is not important, what is, is that your free now, those scientist's believe you to be dead, and you would be, if you hadn't been found by me and my colleague, we are Void Dwellers, we live between dimensions and occasionally interfere with other worlds for our own entertainment, taking an individual from one world and placing them in another with powers they would recognise, they are classified as Displaced-

"Displaced? Didn't they call me one of those earlier in the note?" I asked myself in confusion before reading further into the note.

  • However, you are a special case when it comes to Displaced, by the fact you have been artificially transformed into a half-Voidling, meaning that you have the full might of the void flowing through your entire body, unfortunately, your body was badly damaged by a portal opening overtop you, so, we decided to make you a new one.-

"Huh? What do they mean by- oH MY GOD?!" I exclaimed in shock and panic as I took a closer look at myself and realised my entire body was made out of fabric, after several minutes of desperate breathing to calm myself down, I continued to read.

-With this body, comes new powers, abilities, and the knowledge of how to use these abilities, some of these abilities are being able to pull yourself apart and put yourself back together with ease, to shoot string as tough as steel from your finger tips, and no longer needing to eat or drink(you'll still need to sleep though), the most notable ability however, is what I call your 'prop copy' ability.-

"Prop copy?" I muttered out loud in confusion as I continued reading.

-When you finish reading this note, it will disintegrate and absorb itself into you, granting you the knowledge of a multitude of fictional characters, their abilities, their personalities, and objects that they are closely associated with, this is to help you utilise your prop copy ability, where, once you create a prop of a character, as long as you are either holding, or wearing the prop, you will be able to instinctively use that character's abilities, it will be like second nature!-

"Interesting, but how will i- oh." I began to question before noticing the last second paragraph in the note.

-You will be able to find all the materials for the props you need from the device encasing your lower right arm and hand, this device is what I call the Portable Omniversal Prop kit, just tap the gold and green crystal eye on the back of your hand and a holographic display will appear above your arm, type in the material you need, and said material will be formed from the palm of your hand, the POP kit has a few other abilities you can use, but that will come after you gain the knowledge of the omniverse, as this is your first, and only, pre-made prop, made by your truly.-

"Device?" I mumbled out loud as I looked down at my arm, my eyes widening in surprise as I observe the steel plates silver gauntlet adorned upon my arm from my fingertips to my elbow, on the back of my hand is the gold and green crystal eye this, Pixel, had mentioned, and bellow it, just beneath my wrist, is a strange hourglass symbol with leather straps wrapped around the gauntlet above and below the symbol, and below that right above my elbow, is a strange five-sided shape with five red and blue protrusions in each of the corners of the shape, and in the middle of the shape is what appears to be blue tinted glass with a mass of wires inside the gauntlet, I smile at this, admiring the workmanship as I began to read the last paragraph of Pixel's letter.

-Now, I know this will be a lot to ask if you, but this world you find yourself in? It needs a villain, but not any kind of villain, no. It needs the kind of villain who isn't evil, the kind of villain who antagonizes the heroes to teach lessons on how to be better heroes, on how to fight to protect, on how to know when not to fight, a villain who knows how to keep the heroes on their toes, well hooves in this case, regardless, I request for you to be this villain, I know you are not evil, but you don't need to be evil to be a villain.

- From your friendly Void Dwellers, Pixel and Mathew.

"Be a villain huh? I can work with that." I spoke with a smile as the letter begins to absorb into my body.
