Sunset shimmer the Nergal demon

In the dark night of the city of Pointyvile, a young teen can be seen walking on the street.

“Man, I can’t believe I have to work overtime and with no pay.” The teen said annoyed. ”And because of that, I missed the bus and now have to walk home.”

However unknown to the teen, as he was walking, a figure can be seen watching him from an alleyway. It then suddenly came out of the alleyway and ran towards the teen. By the time the teen turned back to look, it was too late, as the figure was already within arm's reach behind him.

“ Ahhhhh.” The teen shouted before he went silent.

The sound of an alarm clock ringing can be heard before a hand hits it, causing it to stop. The person to whom the hand belongs too got out of bed with a groan. This person was none other than sunset shimmer. Who, after letting out another groan, quickly headed to her bathroom. After she entered it, she went towards the mirror and looked at her reflection and saw that one of her eyes was her usual teal color while the other was a black color surrounded by a green Scalia. She had a look of annoyance when she saw and placed a finger on it, and immediately it changed color to match her other eye.

“Why do you even bother with that anywhere?” A female voice said, and immediately a lump formed on sunset back. It moved down until it was at the bottom of sunset back. Then suddenly something came out of the back of her shirt. That something was a black tentacle-like appendage with what looked like an eye that had the same color as the previous mist-match eye attached at the top of it. ”It will just return back to the original form every time you go to sleep.”

“It’s just annoying because it might bring unwanted attention, especially with people who already know me and who know I don’t have mismatched eyes.” Sunset said. "Anyhow, I need to take a shower, so if you don’t mind.”

“Yeah, yeah.” The tentacle-like creature said, "You do know technically I am also a girl right, and beside since I am literally a part of you, I can see whatever you see, so it’s not right you are able to hide anything from me.” The tentacle then went back into sunset body. Sunset then took off her clothes and stepped into her shower to take her morning shower.

After drying herself and putting on her clothes, Sunset was now at her dining table eating her breakfast. However, she wasn’t eating alone, as the black tentacle was once again out of her body. However, it wasn’t the only tentacles, as there were two other similar tentacles coming out of sunset body. Of course, unlike the first tentacles, the others didn’t have eyes on them. What’s more, from what can be seen, the first tentacle was using the two tentacles to use a spoon and fork to eat the food on the table. The tentacle seems to have also formed a mouth, which it can use to eat the food. After they were done eating the tentacles with the eye, grab the plate it was eating and sunset plate with its tentacles and carry them to the sink. It then washes the dishes and puts them away. It then pulls the other two tentacles back into sunset body.

“Thanks for the help, Mina." Sunset said to the tentacle now known as Mina.

“You welcome.” Mina said before she reentered sunset body. Sunset then got off her chair before making her way to her apartment door, ready to begin her day.

After leaving her apartment, Sunset headed to the city library to read some books. Currently, right now, Sunset was sitting down in one of the chairs available and reading a book she found. Suddenly a voice called out to her, and Sunset quickly moved her attention from the book and to the source of the voice and immediately saw three people approaching her. The three people were two females and one male.

The first female was a girl who seemed to be a year older than sunset. She has long red hair with purple streaks and bangs that were held up with a beaded tie, and her head was shaved on the sides. She was wearing a dark gray thick wooly turtleneck sweater with two pink buttons and a long pink skirt that reached her ankles. Her shoes were dark gray loafers, and her purple eyes were behind thin-rimmed round glasses.

The next female was a girl who seemed to be around sunset age. She has moderate Persian blue eyes, and her hair was moderate purple with lighter purple and pale light grayish aquamarine highlights with a single curl. Her clothing included black shoes, purple pants with a few tears in them, a pale light, grayish aquamarine-colored shirt, a black open vest over it, and on her head was a purple beanie with star symbols.

The boy accompanying the girl was a year older than sunset. He was wearing glasses, and his hair was messy and colored vivid with brilliant vermillion. He wore sneakers, bluish green pants, and a green shirt.

“Hey sunset.” The first girl said.

“Oh, hey moon dancer.” Sunset said, greeting the first girl, now known as Moon Dancer. She then turned to face the other two people. ”And hello, starlight and sunburst.”

“Oh, hey sunset.” The male, now known as Sunburst, said. "Wow, what are the changes meeting you here?”

“Probably a lot since you three should know by now that the library is my favorite place to be.” Sunset said. ”Anyhow, what are you three doing here?”

“Me and Sunburst were going to the library, where we by chance ran into Moon Dancer, who was also going to the library. So we all decided to go to the library together.” Starlight said as she, moon dancer, and Sunburst sat down on the chairs that were near sunset.

“So you got any other plans after this?” Moon dancer asked.

“Well, after this, I am planning on hitting the arcade.” Sunset said. ”What about you guys?”

“Well, I am planning on binge watching all my favorite daring do movies later.” Moon dancer said.

“And me and Sunburst are planning to take part in a trivia contest.” Starlight said. ”Oh, by the way, did you see the news this morning?”

“No, I didn’t,” Sunset said. ”Why you asked.”

“Well, if you have, then you would have known that another dead body was found this morning.” Starlight said. ”And like the rest of the victim, the body that was discovered has a large hole where they discover that something or someone literally tears his heart out.”

“Another one.” Sunset said. ”Man, this neighborhood is getting dangerous.”

“I know right.” Sunburst said. ”That’s like the fifteen dead bodies that were found this month alone.”

“Which is why I always tell you guys not to walk out at night.” Moon dancer said.

“Yeah, we know.” Sunset said. For the next two hours or so, the group would continue to talk with one another before everyone eventually left the library and parted ways to their respective destinations. However unknown to everyone, as Sunset walked towards her destination, she had a look of determination on her face.

“I take it; we are going on another hunt tonight.” A voice in sunset head said. This voice belongs to none other than Mina.

“Yes, we are.” Sunset said in her head.

Later that night, a figure can be seen standing on top of one of the buildings in the city. The figure wore black pants, black boots, and a black hooded jacket with the hood currently down. It was because of this that the person's face could be seen. This figure was none other than sunset shimmer.

“ So where do we start.” Mina said as left sunset body.

“ Not sure,” sunset said as she sprout two black bay wings out of her back.” But we should start somewhere.” She then flew into the air and as she fly her entire skin began turning black and her hands now and her pupil began to disappear as her eyes turn completely green. She then look down at the street to look for any thing unusual.

“ Do you sense anything.” Sunset said as she turn to face Mina who was looking at the ground.

“ Not yet.” Mina said before suddenly the two sense something and quickly fly towards it.

“ You sense it too didn’t you.” Sunset asked Mina.

“ Yeah I did.” Mina said.” That was demonic magic being used.”

“ Come on let’s go.” Sunset said as she flew towards the source of the demonic magic.

Sunset landed on the ground and saw that in front of her was an abandoned building of some kind.

“Well, it seems we found the source of the demonic magic.” Mina said as she sensed traces of demonic magic from the building. "What do you think it is this time?”

“Could be a demon that decided to have fun in this city.” Sunset said. ”Or possibly much worse.”

“You think the followers of the hands are behind this.” Mina asked.

“Could be.” Sunset said. ”Or we could have a new player in the city.”

“I hope that’s not the case, as we already have enough problems.” Mina said in an annoyed voice as she returned back into sunset body.

“Me too.” Sunset said as she began walking into the building. After entering the building, she followed the traces of demonic magic until she reached a door. She opened it and saw a staircase that led downstairs. She walked down the stairs until she reached the bottom of the stairs, where she found herself in a basement of some kind. She then sensed the demonic magic again and followed it until she reached a door that was in the basement. She opened the door a bit and took a peek in the room, and immediately, when she looked into the room, she saw what looked like a group of six men dressed in black cloaked and standing in a circle. In the center of where they were standing, she saw that on the ground was a red pentagram of some kind, and in the middle of the pentagram were 15 hearts gathering together.

“Finally, we have gathered all 15 hearts needed for our sacrifice.” One of the men who seemed to the leader said. ”And with the full moon now out, we can begin the ritual to summon one of our masters servants to assist us in our quest to bring them to this world.” After saying that the leader brought out a dagger from his robe and was about to stab one of the chests, but before he could sunset slam open the door, gaining everyone's attention.

“Hold it right there." Sunset said as she glared at the men.

“You,” the leader said in anger as he glared at sunset. ”The Nergaling that have been stopping our efforts.”

“Yes, me.” Sunset said. ”And I will continue to stop you. So you may as well as give up since, as long as I am around, the God's hands won’t be invading earth any time soon.”

“We will see.” The leader said as he and all the other hooded men began to undergo a transformation of some kind. As they transform, their bodies grow huge and more muscular, causing their clothes to be torn apart, and what’s more, their features slowly become less human as they become and more demonic-looking. When the transformation was done, Sunset was now facing six demonic monsters of all different shapes and sizes.

“Prepare to die, Nergaling.” One of the other demons said as he and the rest of the demon charged at sunset. However, as their charge at sunset, tentacles started coming out of her backs, and quickly they went towards the six charging demons. Three of the demons were pierced through the chest, killing them instantly, and after killing them, Sunset retracted the tentacles from their chest, causing all three to fall to the ground. The last three were able to, however, dodge the tentacles and were still heading towards sunset. Sunset quickly pulled back her tentacles and retracted them into her back. Immediately after she did that, one of the demons finally got close to her and tried to punch her. However, Sunset manages to catch the fist and immediately squish it, causing the demon intense pain. She then tosses her towards one of the demons charging at her, but he manages to dodge it.

The demon then fired a large magical blast from his mouth. However, Sunset quickly managed to jump out of the way before the attack hit her. After dodging the attack, she immediately pointed one of her fingers towards the demon, and immediately it stretched towards him. However, he managed to dodge it by moving to the side, and after the finger stretched next to him, he quickly slashed on it with his claw hand, causing it to cut into two. Sunset quickly retracted what’s left of her finger. She quickly looked at the stump where her finger used to be and saw blood coming out of it.

“You know it’s time; like this, make me glad I can turn on and off my pain receptors at will.” Sunset said as another finger regrows at the missing stump. ”And that I have regenerative ability.” She then looked at the cut halve of the finger and saw it had returned to a smaller size before melting into a black puddle-like liquid on the floor. Suddenly one of the other demons quickly appeared behind her with a claw raised in the air.

“Hey, look behind you.” Mina shouted from inside sunset head and, reacting quickly, sunset quickly formed large spikes on her back that pierced the demon, killing it instantly, and after retracting the spike, the demon fell to the ground dead. Sunset then placed her hand on her back and immediately used her magic to repair the holes on the back of her jacket and shirt.

“Thank goodness I can do that now or I might have to always go clothes shopping every day." Sunset said before turning her attention to the demon in front of her. The demon let out a roar of fury before charging at her.

Sunset just stood and watched as the demon charged at her. When it was near her sunset, quickly sidekick it on the waist with enough force to send the demon flying toward the wall. She then turned to look at the demon, who was now getting up. However, before the demon could fully get up, Sunset once again sprouted tentacles from her back, which went towards the demon. The tentacles hit the demon, piercing its body and killing it instantly. Sunset then pulled back the tentacles and returned to her body.

Sunset then suddenly sensed a large amount of demonic energy, and she immediately turned to the source of the demonic energy and saw that the last demon, who happened to be the demon of the group, had stabbed all 15 hearts that were in the middle of the pentagram.

“You are too late.” The demon said as he smiled evilly. He turned to look at the hearts, which were glowing blue, before a fire suddenly covered all the hearts. The fire then combined together into a larger flame. The demon smiles as he sees this. However, as the demon was busy being distracted by the fire, he didn’t notice Sunset had clutched one of her hands into a fist and pointed it at the demon. Immediately after she pointed it at the demon, a small spike was launched out of it and hit the demon. Immediately after the spike penetrated the demon skin, multiple spikes suddenly came out of his body, causing him to fall to the ground dead. She then turned her attention to the fire and saw it was slowly disappearing, and after it disappeared, Sunset saw standing in the fire place a large muscular demon that was so big that Sunset barely reached his chest.

“So you are the Nergaling that’s been destroying my master's followers and preventing their invasion of this world.” The new demon said as he looked at sunset.

“Yeah, and what of it?” Sunset said.

“Why do you stop my master's plans?” The demon said.

“Um, probably because you and your masters are trying to invade this world.” Sunset said.

“I think you misunderstood my question.” The demon said. ”I am asking why you fight for this world when you can instead fight for my master.”

“Are you trying to get me to join you or something?” Sunset said already suspecting where the conversation was going.

“I am.” The demon said. ”Your powers and skills are something to praise, and think about how powerful you could be if you joined the masters. You could achieve powers, wealth, and other forms of pleasure you could only dream of achieving. So what do you say?”

“I said you are a bit too late to offer that since if it were me from a year ago, I would probably accept your offer, but now I am not interested.” Sunset said that as what looked like a mass of darkness covered most of her body, with the part not dover being the head.

“Is that so?” The demon said as he watched the mass of darkness form into what looked like black demonic armor.

“It is so.” Sunset said as her body turned more bigger and muscular until she was now on even size with the demon.

“ Such a shame.” The demon said as he charged at sunset, who also charged at the demon. Both charged towards one another and immediately grappled with one another. As they continued to push each other away, it wasn’t long before they realized they were evenly matched in terms of pure strength. Thinking quick, Sunset quickly sprouted tentacles out of her back and immediately wrapped the demon's hands and legs and lifted him into the air. She then toss him into the wall.

After tossing him into the wall, Sunset clutched her hands into fists, and immediately a large sword came out of the gauntlets of her armor. She then charged towards the demon and tried to stab him. However, before the sword could hit him, the demon managed to get out of the way of the sword, which in turn caused the sword to instead stab the wall that he was standing behind. Thinking quickly, she then breaks the piece of the wall that was attached to her blade and immediately toss it at the demon who unfortunately punches it mid air causing it to break into pieces. As soon as he broke the pieces, he saw Sunset, who had retracted the blade into her gauntlet and charged towards him. She rammed into him, and the two slammed into the wall. After slamming him into the wall, she then clutched one of her hands into a fist, and immediately after she did that, a large spike came out of it. She then stabbed the demon through the heart, and after stabbing him through the heart, multiple spikes began coming out all over his body.

“It’s over,” Sunset said as the spike on the demon began going back into the demon's body, and shortly afterward she pulled the spike she stabbed into the demon's chest out and pulled it back into her fist.

“It’s not over yet.” The demon said as he slowly slid on the wall and onto the ground. ”You may have beaten me, but there are still many more like me that serve the masters, and many of them are stronger than I am. Beware this Nergaling, the god hands won’t stop until this world is theirs. All you did was slow down the inevitable.”

“We will see.” Sunset said as one of her hands turned into a giant axe. She then swung it through the demon's neck, killing him instantly, and shortly after his head was cut off, a large stream of black blood came out of the stump where the head used to be.

Back at sunset apartment, said girl can be seen eating a microwave lasagna. As she eats, she has a look of concern on her face.

“You seem to have something on your mind.” A male voice said, and immediately sunset looked up from her food to see that standing in front of him was a demon-like creature that greatly resembled the demon form sunset took early. The demon was dressed in a red and black business suit. However, what stood out most about the demon was the fact that the demon was transparent, as Sunset can easily see through like him.

"Oh, hey Nergal.” Sunset said to the demon now known as Nergal as she took a bite of her lasagna.

“Mind telling me what’s your problem.” Nergal asked.

“It’s what that demon said.” Sunset said. ”I manage to win again, but as he said, there are still more demons like him and more demons that are probably more powerful than him, and that’s not going into the problem with the god's hands. I am worried what would happen if they succeeded if they somehow managed to somehow arrive in this world.”

“And if somehow you lose your happiness again.” Nergal asked, and when Sunset said nothing, he instantly knew he was right. "You are afraid that with the threat of God's hands, there might be a chance for you to lose another friend again, another family.”

“ Yes.” Sunset said. ”I don’t know what will happen or what the future has in store, and that’s what frightened me.”

Nergal looked at sunset for a moment before sighing. ” Kid I be honest with you, no one does ever know what the future holds, but if you keep worrying about it, you will end up missing the moments that are happening right now.” Nergal said. ”I know the future will be full of hardships, and I know that no matter what we do, we will always have to face them, and I will be honest, it is good to worry about them so you can be ready for them. But if you keep worrying about them, you will miss the joy and happy moments you have now, and if it makes you feel any better, you don’t have to face them alone. You will always have me and Mina to help you.”

“His right sunset.” Mina said as she popped out of sunset back. ”We will always be here.”

Sunset looked at Mina, then at Nergal. She then smiled happily. ”Thanks guys and you; right as we are together, we can face this together.”

“Well, I am glad I can help cheer you up.” Nergal said before disappearing. Sunset got up from her chair and walked towards the door that led to the balcony. She opened it and exited to the balcony. She then looked up at the full moon and smiled. Sunset knows her battle is far from over, as there will always be threats that will endanger her new life and everyone she loves, but as long as she has her friends with her, she will get through it.

Author's Note

Story Bio: After losing her friends due to Anon-A-Miss Sunset,moved to the city of Pointyvile, where, by change, she stumbled upon a battle between a powerful demon known as a Nergaling and a servant of the god hands a group of evil godlike creatures from another world whose purpose is to invade earth and turn it into their personal kingdom. The demon, after defeating the Nergaling, turned its attention to sunset. However, the Nergaling, with its last strength, used the last bit of its strength and was able to kill the demon before it could kill sunset.

Afterward, the Nergaling did the rituals of transferring its powers to a new host by ripping its right eye and offering it to sunset. After being convinced to take it, Sunset then began to undergo a transformation as all the now deceased Nergaling powers and abilities transferred to her, turning her into a Nergalling. It was during the process of being transformed into a nergaling that her mind ended up in the mindscape where she would meet Nergal, or at least a copy of Nergal, the first nergaling and the one who created the entire nergaling race. He would later explain to sunset the full origins and the ritual of power transfer that all nergaling do upon death. It was also during her transformation into a Nergaling that she gained access to the Nergaling thoughts and memory and learned that he was the city protected, and now that he was dead, Sunset now takes on the role of protecting the city with her newfound powers and with Mina, a Nergaling symbiote that is the living embodiment of the Nergaling power.

Yeah, long explanation. In case you couldn’t tell, the inspiration for Nergaling came from Grim Tale, which is a fan comic of Billy and Mandy.
