My little Pony X Dragon Ball Super: MoeruTamashī
Ch 2: 15 Years in the Future
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt has been more than fifteen years since Clover Vine discovered Betoro on the shore of the Celestial Sea. Her daughter and adopted son have transformed into young adults. Despite being 35 years old, Clover has managed to maintain her youthful appearance and beauty in a truly miraculous way.
As she looked out from the porch of her home, she could see her daughter, Polka Plum, diligently caring for their flourishing garden. Ever since she was a filly, Polka Plum had always exhibited an unwavering determination in the face of adversity, and this was beautifully symbolized by the plum-shaped cutie mark that adorned her flank.
Vine confided in Plum about her unique features and, despite the initial challenge of accepting her differences from other ponies, she eventually embraced them. Polka adores her lion-like tail so deeply that she is unfazed by the opinions of others unless they have chosen to isolate themselves from society.
Polka Plum couldn't help but feel a sense of unfairness for both herself and her adopted brother. The unfortunate reality was that she knew she would be judged based on her appearance, but Beto faced a different kind of scrutiny altogether. The thought of how other ponies would react upon meeting Beto filled both Polka Plum and her mom with fear.
Beto's not defenseless, that's for sure. He's got some kind of magical ability called... Keys? No Ki. He uses this magic also known as "life energy" to do all sorts of things, like flying, using telekinesis without a horn, and sensing the presence of others.
As the head of the household, Beto would fearlessly protect both his sister and their mother from any potential threat. Speaking of Celestia, Polka caught sight of her brother returning home after selling their harvest, his bag filled with hard-earned bits. "Betoro! You're finally back!"
Betoro raised his gaze and smiled at the sight of his little sister eagerly waving to him. "Hey there, sis!" Betorotto watched as Polka Plum came galloping over to envelop him in a warm hug, and he returned the embrace.
"How have you been, little sister? I can imagine you must have wished you were with me when I was selling our harvest." Betorotto bragged to Polka.
"I do, I really do wish I could have gone with you. Sure, tending to our garden is nice and all, but I would like to be with you for once when you sell our harvests... if not for my 'rare' body. It's not fair that I always have to stay back and miss out on the selling part of our hard work." Polka complained.
Betoro found it amusing that Polka wanted to stay close to her older brother, but he understood that it wasn't his decision to make. In their family's eyes, the world they live in is a dangerous place. That's one of the reasons they've isolated themselves.
In reality, they didn't completely cut themselves off from society. They had to ensure they had access to water, supplies, and a large amount of food, as Betorotto had an incredible appetite and could devour an entire buffet without feeling satisfied. As a result, they came up with a strategy.
They cultivated an expansive garden brimming with a diverse array of fresh vegetables on their property. As soon as their vegetable harvest was plentiful enough for selling, Betorotto would venture out in disguise to various regions of Equestria to barter their produce. After successfully selling their vegetables, he would return home with the earnings, allowing Clover to make essential purchases on their behalf.
And their method of living has worked out well for now.
"Betoro!" Clover ran towards her son with a joyful smile on her face and wrapped him in a tight embrace, showering him with hugs and kisses. After being apart for a while, she couldn't contain her happiness with Betorotto returning home.
"Whenever you're away, I truly feel your absence. Have you already sold our harvest as you've done in the past?" Vine asked.
"Yes, everything has been sold. The only things left in my bag are bits, Mom. Lots of it." Betoro informed Clover.
"Great work, son! You also arrived just in time; I've prepared your all-time favorite meal." Clover said whilst she used her magic to remove the massive bag off Betoro's back.
"Yes! Thyme Steak and Broccoli Cheddar soup." Betorotto dashed indoors eagerly, excited to savor his mouthwatering dinner of juicy thyme-infused steak paired with a velvety, indulgent bowl of broccoli cheddar soup.
When Betorotto stepped into the house, Polka turned to Clover with an eager and hopeful expression. "Mom, you mentioned that you had a surprise planned for us once Betorotto finished selling our final harvest, didn't you?"
"Well yes, I do," Clover answered.
"If that's the case, could I please accompany my brother?" Polka pleaded with her mother, her eyes shining with anticipation.
Clover hesitated to grant her daughter's request to go out with her adopted brother for two compelling reasons. The first was the possibility of the crowd having an aversion to her daughter's appearance in public, and the second was her overwhelming fear of losing her beloved daughter. Nonetheless, she realized that she couldn't keep Polka sheltered forever, and she knew she'd have to let her go at some point. When Clover turned to look at Polka, she saw her daughter giving her a pleading, puppy-dog-eyed expression, hoping to sway her mother's decision.
With a deep breath, she summoned the courage to meet Polka Plum's gaze and began to speak to her about what she had decided.
The following morning arrived, and Betorotto was already wide awake, busy gathering the final harvest of the season. As he worked, he enjoyed munching on a crisp beetroot for breakfast. His large bag was quickly filling up with sacks of grain, carrots, corn, beetroots, potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, onions, and a variety of other freshly harvested vegetables. After plucking the final vegetable from his family's garden, all that was left behind was rich, dark soil.
Yesterday, Betorotto's mother instructed him to wait before setting out to sell their crop. Betorotto patiently lingered outside, where he overheard lively chatter coming from inside the house. He assumed it must be a girlish conversation.
Suddenly, he heard a piercing screech from Polka Plum, followed by a shout of "Hey!" This piqued Betorotto's curiosity, making him wonder what was happening inside.
The front door creaked open, and a mysterious figure emerged from the house, draped in a cloak with the hood pulled low to conceal her identity. Was it Clover Vine or Polka Plum? Betoro's curiosity was soon satisfied when the enigmatic pony addressed him.
"Thank you for waiting, Beto," Polka said, pulling back the hood covering her face. As she unveiled herself, Beto was taken aback. It wasn't just the fact that his sister was underneath the cloak, but it was the transformation of her coat that astonished him. As Polka used her magic to remove the cloak, Beto noticed that the distinctive blue polka dots that had once adorned her coat were now gone. Instead, he saw a glimpse of what Polka Plum would look like if her coat had a regular purple hue.
"Polka Plum?" He whispered, feeling startled. "W-what did you do to your coat," Betoro questioned. "Did you cast a spell onto yourself?!"
"No Beto, this isn't magic, it's just makeup," Polka said, trying to calm Betoro's confusion. "My mom helped me put makeup all over my body to make me look like a normal purple unicorn with no spots. How do I look?"
He paused for a moment, reflecting on her question. His little sister appeared truly stunning, and he couldn't deny it. "You look absolutely gorgeous… but I'm curious, what's the occasion for this?"
"Your sister had requested to accompany you to sell our crops," Clover informed Betorotto. "And I granted permission for her to join you."
Betoro was completely taken aback by his mother's sudden revelation. "You're allowing her to leave the house? You've never done that before?!"
"No, I haven't. That's exactly why I need you to watch over your sister while I step out to buy something that will transform both of your lives. Polka has been isolated for far too long, and it's time for her to start making connections now that she's a young adult like you."
Betorotto strongly disapproves of his mother's decision-making. However, Polka Plum has been confined for too long, and it is time for her to join society. It now becomes clear why Polka took the time to cover all the spots on her fur with makeup.
"However, there was still one issue to address. How do we hide Polka's tail? I hope not with makeup."
"Nope. I will be wearing this cloak at all times, as it will allow me to cover my tail," Polka explained.
Betorotto found himself in a situation where he had no other option but to bring his sister, Polka Plum, with him while he sold their crop. This placed a great deal of responsibility on Betorotto, as he felt the need to protect his sister from the harsh realities of the world. He was deeply concerned, knowing that the outcome of this situation was unlikely to be positive.
"Alright then," Betorotto said. He turned to Clover Vine and asked his mom, "Do you want us to meet up back at the house?"
Clover lightly shook her head and said, "Actually, I would appreciate it if you two could meet me in the Everfree Forest after you finish selling our crop."
Betoro and Polka were deeply puzzled. They had both studied the map of Equestria, and they knew that the distance from their current location in the Forbidden Jungle to the Everfree Forest was incredibly vast. And Betorotto has yet to go that far.
"That's incredibly far, Mom. I know you want to surprise both Beto and me with something, but that is very far for the both of us," Polka replied, feeling a bit nervous about what their mom had planned and how long it would take for them to get there.
"I understand that what I'm asking of both of you may feel overwhelming to take on alone. But please believe me, it will be worth it in the end." Clover said to be loved children.
Betorotto continued to find himself hesitating about whether to go along with his mother's plan. However, he couldn't ignore the fact that his mother, had always been a trustworthy and guiding mother. Despite the realization that this journey would be longer than his usual ones, Betorotto eventually made up his mind to trust his mother's plan.
"Okay, mom. I'll do what you're asking of me if you think it'll be worth it in the end," Betoro said with a hopeful smile.
"Thank you, Betorotto."
"Wait! Don't I get a saying in this?!" Polka seemed uncertain and hesitant about the decision-making.
"Technically, you made your decision when you wanted to go with Betorotto, Polka," Clover said smugly to her daughter. "You basically automatically said yes to my plan anyway."
"I-I... I didn't..." Polka's forehead glistened with sweat as she expressed her dissatisfaction with the plan. "I REGRET WANTING TO JOIN YOU, BETO!!!" Polka whined, resigned to the fact that she had no other option but to go along with the situation.
Betorotto and Polka Plum savored every moment as they bid their mother farewell, exchanging heartfelt hugs and kisses. With a bittersweet goodbye, Betorotto set off with his sister by his side to sell their crop. They watched as their mother also left the house, her face adorned with a gentle smile, heading in the opposite direction.
'Take care of yourself, Mom, until we meet again,' Betoro murmured to himself as he and Polka journeyed into the unknown.
Author's Note
I hope you all enjoyed the character development I created for my original characters. I know there isn't any action yet or the group meeting the Mane 6, but don't worry, it will come. I'm building it up as I create the story. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know in the comment section below.
And again...don’t worry. Because in the next chapter, Betorotto will bring out his Saiyan rage and powers.
