A strange visitor named Isidora appears in Ponyville, in the form of Pinkie Pie. They claim to want instruction on how to be her.

Pinkie and Twilight have to wrestle with three questions that are both intertwined: How to get them home, why they wanted to be Pinkie, and what makes Pinkie Pie... herself?
