Daniel Book 3- Life in Ponyville

"Alright Alex, do you know how to defend yourself?" Daniel asked cheerfully.

"More or less, I took a class on martial arts." Alexander replied. Daniel nodded.

"Alright, look, only fight if neccesary, oh, and if you need anything, just ask me. Now, I guess I should fill you in, but first a few questions." Daniel said, and Alexander shrugged.

"Alright, ask away."

"Okay, first question, what were you doing when you came here?" Daniel asked.

"Getting ready to fight bullies that had surrounded me."

"Alright, next, do you have a place to stay?"

"Uh, no." Alex replied.

"Okay, now for the summary, Alex, you have been magically teleported to this world, in the continent of Equestria. This planet is dominated by ponies, griffins, and mules. There are three kinds of ponies, unicorns, earth ponies, and pegasi. You are in the town of Ponyville, and are currently talking to the only other human in this place.

"Uh huh, well then. That's, well I don't know, um, okay then. See you later, I have to go think." Alexander said, then walked away. Daniel chuckled slightly, it was alot to handle, and he knew that.

"Do you believe me now?" Friend's voice sounded out, Daniel whipped his body around, but nobody was there.

"Friend, so you are real." Daniel said.

"Indeed I am. Oh, you're needed at the school." Friend replied, nopony other than Daniel seemed to hear him.

"What? Why, I don't have to go to school." Daniel said, slightly confused.

"They need you, not the other way around, good bye Daniel." Friend said, the voice getting distant. Daniel just rolled his eyes, and started towards the school, when he heard a colt cry out. He then broke into a sprint, and as the school yard came into sight, he saw Cherilee pushing the foals behind her while a full size manticore roared in her face. Cherilee looked terrified, but stood her ground. The manticore raised a claw menacingly, and Cherilee shoved all of the foals back far enough that it was out of reach. The claw fell with terrifying speed, and in the next second, Cherilee was on the ground, blood covering the ground beneath her. The manticore let out another roar as it stepped forward to eat the small foals, it raised its claw once again, but this time, it felt something hit its side. it turned to face a creature that resembled something like a diamond dog, only better posture, and no fur. It wore clothes as well. It roared a third time, only this time into Daniel's face.

"Okay, I'm guessing that you have never heard of breath mints. Seeing how you can't speak, you must be a beast as well. So that rules out reasoning with, WHOA!" Daniel's sentence was cut off as the manticore swung, he dodged. Daniel pulled out his sword, and swung at the manticore, the sword hit it dead on, and bounced off with nothing more than the manticore getting slightly annoyed. "Oh. Crap." Daniel said, and the manticore roared in response. It then unrolled it's very long, and deadly, scorpian tail, and it hit the ground next Daniel, causing him to jump back. Daniel swung his sword with more force at the tail, and managed to cut the tip off, getting his sword stuck near the end. The manticore let out a howl of pain, and flicked it's tail, connected to Daniel's sword, connected to Daniel, up into the air, and flung the tip of tail, and everything else connected to it, into a nearby tree. Daniel tasted blood, and upon inspecting, he found he had a split lip.

"Ah! Daniel help me!" Diamond Tiara screamed, as she was caught by the tail in the manticore's teeth. Daniel got up, and shook himself out of his stupor. He then charged towrds the creature, he now had his horn, wings, and tail. Daniel jumped at the creature, using his wings as a powerful boost, and when near it, he spun quickly, gashing it with his tail, which seemed to be much more effective then using the sword form. The manticore dropped Diamond Tiara who bolted back to the group of ponies watching, which had gathered even more since the fight started. People were placing bets to a brown stallion in a green cap. The manticore seemed to be getting more than he. Daniel was to busy to notice though.

The manticore lunged towards Daniel, trying to bite, but Daniel then disappeared in a bright flash, and reappeared ontop of it's head, his tail now gone, and its place his sword. Daniel raised the sword high, and stabbed the manticore's head, it went in, but before Daniel could make it a killing blow, he was flung off once again, collecting a few winces from the ponies watching. Daniel picked himself up quickly. and charged his horn, and released a blast of magical energy that hit the manticore in the face. The manticore fell over, asleep. Daniel ran to it, and grabbed his sword, just as it woke. The spell had not been powerful. Daniel flipped back with his sword, then charged towards the beast once more, going for the killing blow, he brought his sword low, then just the manticore roared, he stapped up through the roof of it's mout, it then keeled over dead, as Daniel pulled his sword from its brain. The sword absorbed some of the blood that was on it, then the rest simply dribbled off due to the magic of it. Daniel stretched his back, raising his sword high, and the crowd that had gathered cheered.

"You were amazing!" Snips said.

"Duh, yeah awesome victory stance." Snails agreed.

"Victory stance? I just stretched." Daniel replied, then sheathed his sword, looking at the manticore, he wondered what he should do with the carcass.

"Oh, so what are you going to do with the kill?" Snips said.

"Uh, I don't know, I heard that manticore venom sells well, and maybe some research place will want to study the body or something." Daniel said, as Twilight walked up.

"If you are going to get rid of it, let me help, I can send it to Celestia's biology researchers." Twilight said, daniel shrugged, then nodded, after grabbing the poison sack and stinger. Twilight's horn glowed, and the manticore dissapeared.

"Well, uh, do you know who might want this for some bits?" Daniel asked, holding up the poison sack.

"I'll give you three hundred for it." Twilight replied. "I would give you a fair price, but it's all I have for potion ingridents at the moment." She finished. Daniel nodded.

"Alright. Uh, just get the bits to me whenever you can." Daniel said, putting the venom sack on the ground, which disappeared as well, and a sack of bits reappeared in its place. Twilight kicked over to Daniel, who picked it up. Twilight trotted away, and in her place, came Diamond Tiara, followed by a light brown stallion with blue eyes almost as icey as Daniel's. His cutie mark was that of three bags of money.

"Kid, what you did was stupid, reckless, and risked your life at the expense of not just other people, but people of a different species." The brown stallion said scoldingly. Daniel just rolled his eyes, and as he saw the stallion open his mouth again, he began walking away. "Which is why I'm saying thank you for saving my daughter, nopony would ever be brave enough to face a manticore, save for maybe an alicorn." The stallion said, Daniel grinned slightly and turned around.

"Uh, actually, I am an alicorn, and I have faced alot worse than that. Trust me, that was nothing compared to what some of the ponies I have faced can do." Daniel said, thinking to what Fluttershy could do.

"You're an alicorn?" The stallion asked, disbelievingly, Daniel chuckled, then changed into his alicorn form, elicting a gasp from most ponies nearby, including the two next to him. He then changed back, and stretched. The stallion finally managed to shake himself out of his stupor. "That would be a yes. Anyways, my name is Filthy Rich, but please use my last name. Whether formally or not." Rich said.

"Alright Mr. Rich." Daniel said, as he walked away, but Diamond Tiara called out to him.

"Wait!" She galloped quickly up to him, and stopped in front of him. "Thanks for saving me from that manticore, if you hadn't been there, well, I don't want to think about it. Uh," She paused, then shook her head, "well see you later." She said, trotting off. She looked like she hadn't said what she intended to say. Daniel shrugged and walked off, only to be met with a very excited Pinkie Pie.

"Wow Daniel you actually took down a manticore not that I thought you couldn't but it's still amazing I mean wow I had my bets on you of course." She said excitedly.

"Yeah well, I wonder what that manticore was doing here." Daniel said.

"Oh, Ice Fire was going through some old comments and found a conversation with one of his loyal viewers, and decided it was time to intigrate the manticore battle into the story! Oh and he's possibly debating whether or not to do something along the lines of a herd like love life with you with Ditzy and, Oh, can't say, I would lose a friendship if I told you, FOREVER. And with that she sunk away, seemingly disappearing.

"Ice Fire, comments, and herd love life. Must just be Pinkie being Pinkie." Daniel muttered as he continued to walk away.
