Chapter 11: The Wedding, Finally

All the ponies were waiting in their respective positions, Sunny, Izzy, and Discord were next to Hitch while Pipp stood behind the spot where Zipp would be standing once she arrived, all the mares wore elegant dresses that matched Zipp’s, but much shorter and instead of them being white they were colored to match Zipp's mane.

The Queen was standing behind the altar trying desperately not to cry, but it was proving to be a futile challenge.

The Grand Hall was heavily decorated thanks to Discord, he made sure everything looked perfect, decorating the walls with many bright colors and floating crystals that refracted the sun’s light, bathing the Grand Hall in every color of the rainbow, he even used his magic to force the sun to set a little to make the lighting just perfect.

“You really outdid yourself Discord, it looks wonderful. Although are you going to place the sun back to its original place once the ceremony is done?” Sunny asks Discord while complimenting his work.

Discord adjusted his collar and blew a small raspberry and waved his claw at Sunny, “Don’t worry about that, if my calculations are correct, I wouldn’t need to move the sun at all, the ceremony should last until sunset which means all I will have to do is untether it and let it go on its merry way. Oh, how furious would Celestia get at me knowing I was doing this,” sighing a little, Discord frowned a little, “I miss her telling me off, it was fun teasing her and Luna.”

“You three never really got along together, huh?” Hitch asked.

“Oh, we got along just fine, by the time it… it was… it’s as if they were my own sisters and I was their older brother, I protected them when they needed protection and gave them hope when there was none,” A small tear fell from his eye, but he instantly wiped it away. “Now don’t you dare make me cry about the past, make me cry about the two of you,” Discord said as he instantly composed himself.

Both Hitch and Sunny nodded softly at Discord, with Sunny even placing a hoof on his side to comfort him a little.

Two minutes passed and Hitch was starting to get nervous, but he tried to keep his cool, hoping that nopony would notice.

“Here is some water," Sunny said, noticing Hitch's nervousness.

“Th-thank you, it’s taking a long time, hu…” Hitch said as he shuffled a little due to him being nervous.

“It’s only been five minutes, Hitch. Be a little more patient, ok,” Sunny told Hitch as she placed a hoof on his shoulder.

“Only f-five… And here I thought an hour had passed…” Hitch said, clearly extremely nervous and unable to think straight.

“Sunny, do you want me to calm him down?” Discord asked Sunny, whispering in her ear.

“No, no, no, this is something he needs to go through himself, so no calming him down in your way, which if I guessed right, was using magic,” Sunny said as she turned to Discord.

“Fine, I understand where you are coming from,” scoffed Discord.

“Hitch, just take a deep breath…” Sunny said to Hitch as she took a deep breath herself.

Hitch followed her instructions and he took a deep breath.

“And now, slowly breathe out…” She said as she slowly exhaled herself.

Following her instructions, Hitch also went ahead and slowly exhaled.

“Now close your eyes and count to ten…” She said, closing her own eyes.

“One”

“Two”

“Three”

“Four”

“Five”

“Six”

“Seven”

“Eight”

“Nine”

“Ten”

They both counted slowly; once the counting was done, they both opened their eyes, and Hitch instantly let out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding.

“Thank you, Sunny, I really needed that,” Hitch told her as he gave her a hug.

“No problem, Hitch,” Sunny said as she returned the hug.

As they parted from their hug, the piano started to play, and everypony in the stands stood up and turned to see the bride.

Everypony gasped as they saw Zipp in her dress, they were shocked to see just how beautiful she looked.

Together, Zipp and Alphabittle walked forward, Zipp had a massive smile as she saw Hitch’s reaction. He was in awe, his mouth was opened and for the entire time it took for both Zipp and Alphabittle to walk to the altar, he didn’t even blink once.

As Zipp reached the altar, everypony sat down as the ceremony was about to commence. Alphabittle went to sit down in a stand that was reserved for the family and Misty took her place next to Pipp on Zipp’s side.

She giggled at Hitch’s reaction, which caused him to shake his head and compose himself.

As Zipp got to her spot, Queen Haven cleaned a tear before she started, “Ahem, mares, stallions, fillies, and colts, we are gathered here for an event that is still rare for us. The marriage of two ponies, both from a different clan. Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer, from the Earth Pony Clan, and Princess Zepharyna Storm, from the Pegasus Clan. Both ponies ended up falling for each other, despite their differences, they have faced many trials in their relationship and they will no doubt face even more trials as this chapter of their lives ends and another one begins, one that marks their unification in marriage. Now with that said, Princess Zepharyna Storm, would you like to say your vows?”

A small tear fell from Zipp’s eye, “Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer, since the first time I saw you, I knew we had a connection unlike any other, I was afraid to confess myself to you, but that day you kissed me in the office, the day after I had come here from Zephyr Heights, was the best day in my entire life, I never wanted to leave your side from that day forward, so when I say, I Princess Zepharyna Storm take you, Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life. I love you, and I want everypony in Equestria to know that.”

As Zipp finished, ponies were awed at Zipp’s words, Hitched wiped a tear from his eye as he composed himself getting ready to say his own vows. “Princess Zepharyna Storm, in the beginning, I would have never expected to be with a pegasus, it was an unheard of thing and everypony would have batted an eye if you weren’t of the same race, but things changed since then and now look at us, an Earth Pony and a Pegasus Pony, about to get married, and I can't think of a better ending to those dark times, looking at you and being with you, it’s like an angel is with me 24/7, I can never get enough of you and I wish to be with for the rest of my life, I love you and I to want everypony in Equestria to know that.”

Again the whole crowd was awed at Hitch’s words, they clapped lightly and soon went back to quietly listening.

A unicorn placed a plate with two pieces of bread and quickly walked to the side to await his part.

“Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer, may you please pick up one of the pieces and feed it to Princess Zepharyna,” Haven said.

Hitch followed her orders and picked up one of the pieces, he gently raised it to Zipp's lips and she went ahead and took the piece in her mouth and ate it.

“Princess Zepharyna, may you please pick up the piece of bread and feed it to Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer,” Haven said.

Zipp followed her orders and picked up the piece of bread and raised it to Hitch’s lips and he went ahead and took the piece in his mouth and ate it.

“What the two of you did is share each other’s flesh with one another, this symbolizes that now the two of you are bonded by the flesh,” Haven said as she ushered the unicorn to take the plate.

Another unicorn stallion came to them with a cup filled with wine and as he set the tray on a small table in front of the podium, Queen Haven softly spoke, “Those were wonderful words you two, I think I can speak for all of us that we can feel the love that both of you have for each other, we can see that both of you are meant to be and even if times get rough, you two will fight together to stay together.”

“Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer, may you please pick up the cup,” Hearing her words, Hitch did as he was told, “Now please, allow for Princess Zepharyna Storm to take a sip and then set the cup back down,” doing as he was told, Hitch brought the cup to Zipp’s lips and allowed for her to take a sip of the wine, he then went ahead and placed the cup back on the table.

“Now Princess Zepharyna Storm, may you please pick up the cup,” Hearing her words, Zipp did as she was told, and went to pick up the cup, “Now please allow for Hitch to take a sip and then set the cup back down,” doing as she was told, Zipp brought the cup up to Hitch’s lips and allowed for him to sip the wine, she then went ahead and placed the cup back on the table.

“What the two of you did was share each other’s blood, meaning that now the both of you are not only bonded by the body but by blood too,” as she said those words, another unicorn stallion went to pick up the cup and placed a rope that was decorated with flowers and had two wide knots.

“May the two of you place the knot on each other's necks,” Doing as they were told, both Zipp and Hitch picked up the rope and placed the knots around each other’s necks, “The representation of this now shows that the two of you are now not only boned by body and blood, but by soul too, this now means that the two of you are now officially one, that no power in the world or universe can ever separate the two of you, you two may now take off the rope and place it back on the table.”

With that, both Hitch and Zipp went to take off the rope from each other and placed it back on the table, the unicorn stallion went to pick it up and Queen Haven spoke, The two of you show great promise, the family the two of you build in the future will not only be raised by strong, kind and caring parents, but also by parents that will love each other for eternity.”

“Now before we continue, I must say, if there is any pony out there who wants to object, please speak now or forever stay silent, if there are none, then we may continue,” with those words being said, everypony went silent for a minute, some were even ready to attack, just in case there is one.

“Then we may now continue,” Queen Haven said as she turned to look at the two soon-to-be wedded couple.

“Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer, do you take Princess Zepharyna Storm as your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?” Queen Haven asks as she looks at Hitch.

“I do,” Hitch said, having a big smile.

“Princess Zepharyna Storm, do you take Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?” Queen Haven asks as she looks at Zipp.

“I do,” Zipp said, having a big smile.

“May the rings be brought forth, please,” the Queen says, and on cue, Sparky walks to the two ponies and presents the rings. “Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer, may you please take the ring and place it onto Princess Zepharyna Storm,” following her orders, Hitch took the ring which was on a golden necklace, and placed it on Zipp’s neck.

“Princess Zepharyna Storm, may you please take the ring and place it onto Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer,” Zipp did as she was told and picked up the ring which was on a similar-looking gold necklace as Zipp’s, she went to place it on Hitch’s neck.

“With the rings now on each other, this now means that everything has now been sealed and with that, Sheriff Hitch Trailblazer, you may now kiss the bride.”

As soon as Queen Haven said those words, Zipp instantly tossed herself onto Hitch, something that the stallion was all too ready for, and caught her allowing for the momentum to bring their lips together and locked them tight onto each other.

The crowd cheered at the two ponies, as they kissed, the crystals that were floating popped into confetti showering the grand hall with bright colors as every bit of confetti caught the light and created their own rainbow.

The two soon parted their lips and turned to face the crowd and then ran down the aisle and to the doors as the ponies tossed rice and confetti at them, they both laughed and giggled as they ran, and soon they reached the garden of the palace and there was a massive buffet of food with a cake that easily stood two stories tall, clearly meant to feed the massive crowd of ponies of a few thousand or so.

Smelling the cake, Zipp couldn’t hold herself and went to dive into it, but thankfully Hitch anticipated her action and quickly caught her before she was able to even spread her wings.

“Easy there, Honey, you will get a slice in a bit, just relax,” Hitch said as he pulled her back and wrapped his hoof around her neck.

“I-it wasn’t m-me…” Zipp said as she continued to just stare at the cake, she soon winced a little as she pressed her stomach, something that instantly made Hitch worry.

“Z-Zipp are you ok?!” He said as he started to look her over.

“Y-yeah, that was the first kick,” she said as she giggled, “Guess they are the one that is forcing me to crave the cake, I’m guessing they will be a massive cake lover once they are born,”

Hitch laughed a little as Zipp said those words, he gently rubbed her stomach feeling another kick, the sudden stress of the situation washing over him as the kick reassured him that their baby was going to be strong and healthy when they were finally going to be born, he gently hugged Zipp and gave her a kiss on the cheek before softly speaking, “let’s give them what they want then, hopefully, that will calm them down,”

Suddenly the crowd behind them awed at the two, scarring them as they forgot where they were.

“Oh, that will certainly go viral,” Pipp said as she recorded, “Now go and cut the cake, Zipp,” Pipp ushered.

Chuckling Zipp picked up the knife a servant next to her had and went to cut a slice, everypony cheered and soon there was a massive line of ponies eagerly awaiting for their own slice, Hitch gave Zipp the first bite, as Pipp giddily took pictures of the two, she couldn’t wait till she was going to be able to post the pictures the very next day.

Everypony that attended soon were served and they all had an amazing time and soon it was time for the bouquet of flowers to be tossed. The rules were simple, no magic or flying, the bouquet was tossed and a lot of mares screamed and shouted to move towards the flying arrangement of flowers to try and catch it, all but one, a strange mare that jumped over the crowd and dodged many hooves to the face, she caught the bouquet in her teeth, as the crowd of mares saw that somepony caught it, they where obviously disappointed, but congratulated the mare that caught it.

The mare soon took the bouquet to Sunny, revealing that it was Izzy who had caught it. Sunny blushed hard, Pipp and Misty jumped at the two mares, congratulating them. Sunny took the bouquet and leaned to give Izzy a kiss.

“You’re very eager, aren’t you?” Sunny said as she chuckled.

“What can I say, I saw the opportunity and I took it, all because I love you,” Izzy said as she nuzzled Sunny’s cheek.

Sunny continued to chuckle, “In the future, ok?”

“Yup, in the future, right now, it’s Hitch‘s and Zipp’s time,” Izzy said.

Once the party was over, Zipp and Hitch got into the carriage, which had the words, “Just Married” on the back, they took off and went on their way, no pony knew where they were going, but they knew that it was someplace to be alone from everypony, someplace that it would just be the two of them.
