Epilogue

Previous Chapter

“The winning band is Dragon Scale,” Celestia and Luna announced.

The place was filled with applause and shouts of excitement and praise, while Spike, Rumble and Button Mash couldn't believe it, they had won the battle of the bands.

Minutes later, on stage were the Dragon Scale band in the center, the Rainbooms on the right, and Flash Sentry band on the left.

The principal Celestia was handing out trophies to all the participants, Flash Sentry band's trophies were bronze.

The ones on the Rainbooms were silver.

While the Dragon Scale ones were gold.

All the trophies had the same design, a 25 centimeter musical note.

“You must be very proud,” Luna whispered to the Dragon Scale band to which the boys nodded with a smile.

“Finally,” Spike thought with a smile, he had managed to be the center of attention for once in his life, and all thanks to Rumble and Button Mash.

“With this I conclude the battle of the bands,” Celestia said as the people's applause did not stop.

The Rainbooms and Flash Sentry band also applauded the winners with a smile.

But while they were celebrating, Rainbow Dash realized something, “Wait a minute.”

She looked out of the corner of her eye at the instruments that the band Dragon Scale had, she realized something very curious, the instruments had similar colors and for some strange reason, the guitars did not have strings, instead they had colored buttons, “Oh no they did not."

She snuck back off the stage, which Twilight Sparkle noticed, “Rainbow Dash, where are you going?”

Rainbow Dash found the button to light up the entire stage and without a doubt she pressed it, illuminating the place, which surprised all the bands, but even more so Dragon Scale.

“Uh oh,” Rumble and Button Mash said at the same time.

“I think Rainbow noticed,” Spike said stunned.

People realized thanks to the lighting, the instruments that Dragon Scale was using were not real instruments.

And then a scandal breaks out, because Rainbow Dash, who had a microphone, expose them in front of everyone, "Those aren't real instruments, they're gaming controls for that stupid guitar video game."

"Hey, Guitar Hero isn't some stupid video game, it's a masterpiece of the genre," Button Mash responded with a frown.
That made the entire audience gasp.

“Well done Button,” Spike told him in a sarcastic tone.

Soon the stadium was filled with boos instead of applause, “Booo.”

Spike didn't care but he did when he looked at Twilight with a surprised look, “Spike, did you cheat?”

“No Twi, I…” Spike responded but the boos from the place became louder and louder.

"Cheaters."

"They don't know how to play."

"Offstage."

The entire audience boos them and throws things at them, so the boys decided to do the right thing.

"Thank you for listening to us and granting us the victory, it is a great honor, knowledgeable public, we are leaving, you can buy our CDs if you want or not," Spike shouts with a smile as he, Rumble and Button escaped from the place with the first place trophy.

"They are escaping."

"And they stole the trophy."

The band Dragon Scale ran along with their fake instruments and the television they had brought, fortunately Rumble was too strong to run and charge the drums.

“Oh Spike,” Twilight Sparkle said, feeling sorry for her little brother.

Hours later at the Sparkle family home.

Spike was sitting on the couch along with Twilight Sparkle, there were also his parents, Twilight Velvet and Night Light, who were talking to him now that the situation had calmed down a bit.

“Spike, we're not mad at you,” Night Light told him.

“But we want to know why you did this,” Velvet asked him.

Spike looked at Twilight Sparkle sadly, and as if it were fate, Twilight had deduced what was happening.

“You missed spending time with me right?” Twilight asked her little brother.

“Something like that,” Spike decided to be honest with his older sister, “I'm glad you made friends, but from that point on, I've felt a little left out.”

Twilight understood what Spike was referring to, they were practically inseparable before they entered Canterlot High, but she hadn't remembered a moment she had shared with Spike since she met the girls.

“Soon that feeling escalated to jealousy, right? “Is that why you agreed to start a band with Rumble and Button?” Velvet asked him.

“I wanted to have what Twilight had achieved, fame and friends,” Spike responded, nodding, “But having friends for the first time, I understood, I was wrong.”

“Spike, I'm so sorry,” Twilight Sparkle apologized.

“I'm the one who should apologize, in fact, have this,” Spike told him as he handed him his trophy, “You deserve it.”

“No Spike, it's yours,” Twilight responded, “Even if what they did wasn't a fair game, you didn't cheat either, technically you did use the instruments even if they weren't real.”

Spike laughed, “Well when you put it like that.”

Twilight laughed too and then hugged Spike, “Don't worry, I'll try my best to make sure you don't feel that way again.”

Spike hugged her back, he knew that everything would be okay, not only had he made friends, he also got his dear sister back.

The days passed, and although the band Dragon Scale would not play live again, that did not stop them.

At Button Mash's house.

Button was plugging in his console along with his game controllers.

Spike and Rumble were there with him, they took the Guitar Hero guitars while Button sat on the drums.

"We may not be a band, but I wouldn't change this moment for anything," Spike told them, "Let's go and make Dragon Scale last, even if it's in the virtual world."

Rumble and Button Mash nodded, "To surpass one million points."

"I couldn't do this without my friends," Rumble said determined and ready to play.

"We may have ruined everything, but I'm grateful for that since we're together," Spike told them with a smile as they began playing Guitar Hero with all the passion in the world.

"WE ARE DRAGON SCALE."
