Isolated from Fellowship
Moving into Town and meeting the psycho of a librarian
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe sound of dirt and old wood creaking at every turn filled the small road with such noise as a dirt road and a nearly broken cart would make. The pony pulling the nearly broken cart was a Pegasus stallion of the age of 19 with a silver mane, silver tail, a light charcoal coat, blood red eyes and a cutie mark in the shape of potted plant overflowing with roots. The stallion was Spring Root, a young colt that had traveled far from home to live alone and rather than his previous home away from the overprotective relatives that were his foster parents. Back before moving out, Spring’s parents were mugged in Manehatten then promptly murdered by a unicorn, being taken through a few foster parents and being taken back due to neglect had psychological malpractice made Spring into a recluse. After a failed attempt at hanging themselves, the foster parents were forced to take more time into being around him and that was not a all what he wanted so he left, not caring if they were arrested and fined thousands of bits, all spring wanted to do was be left alone.
After passing the ridge that hid an aging gem of a town; The town was lush with rustic and beautiful buildings, fancy decor that seemed to be as old as equestria and lots of farm land to the eye can possibly see. Looking to the left was a large red barn with rows upon rows of apple trees, giving the town a rough rural feel to it which made Spring giddy and made them genuinely smile at how beautiful the town looked like. Hopefully they would be far too busy to notice him and bother him with the so called friendship that was considered powerful. If it was powerful then his parents would be alive and helping him adjust to the new town. Spring’s breathing became quick as the memories of his parent’s death continued to plague him to his every waking moment and with every nightmare. After taking a deep breath, Spring began to walk down the dirt road with his trailer that was nearly empty save for a sleeping bag, a bundle of apples, and a sharp survival knife that has seen it’s fair share of action. Bringing a hoof up, Spring’s crimson eyes stared at the old scar marks left on him which bared the mark of an attempt of suicide. Shaking their head, Spring walked towards the town and passing a sign which read.
“Ponyville”
Upon getting into town, Spring looked around at the nearly empty town as he suddenly saw a large carriage with two royal Pegasus guards fly down and land on the dirt road nearby. Instead of seeing royalty, Spring saw a purple unicorn mare and a small baby dragon disembark from the carriage before the two pegasus stallions depart from the area. Spring began to walk towards the large tree near the outskirts of town, smilling as place of solitude was near their reach when a sudden mass slammed into them and caused him to be sprawling them onto the floor with said mass. It wasn’t until they stopped moving when Spring opened his eyes, which were closed upon receiving the tackle, that he saw a pink mare with a pink fluffy mane with light aqua eyes practically ontop of him with her muzzle to his. With wide eyes, Spring pushed the mare off before getting up quickly to prevent any more physical contact from the mare before shouting loudly.
“Watch where you’re going you psycho!!!!”
The mare had barely gotten up before backing away from Spring. It might have been an accident but that didn't excuse her for nearly assaulting him. The mare softly spoke up as her hair began to deflate.
“I.. I’m sorry I… I didn’t mean too…-“
With a soft groan, Springs gaze soften as he couldn’t feel angry anymore at the mare as It was very depressing at seeing such a mare feel devastated in being scolded like a foal, Spring looked away before cutting her off.
“It’s fine… just don’t start crying… a mare of your age and beauty shouldn’t waste that smile for a accident..”
Silence. It was so loud that it made the situation worse than before as the mare sounded much more happier than before, far more than earlier.
“Y… you think I’m b.. beautiful…?”
Spring looked at the mare, seeing her face flushed with embarrassment as he had called her beautiful in an attempt to stop her crying. With a soft sigh, Spring nodded a bit before responding.
“Y… yes… you do have a beauty that most mares that I’ve seen don’t come close to yours..”
Spring couldn’t lie at being a bit honest but to be truthful to her. If she interprets it as romantic interest then that’s her fault. Suddenly the mare hugged him tightly while she wore the biggest smile on her face.
“Oh your are far too kind thank you so much! You are so much nicer than most stallions around here…. Wait are you new to town, because I know everypony but I don’t know you…”
The mare said, completely going 180 on her sadness before starting to bombard him with questions. Spring said in a sprained voice as her hugs were squeezing his soul out of his sturdy bones.
“Y….. yes…..”
It was very hard to speak as she suddenly let go and rushed off in a hurry and left him alone to catch his breath.
“If I see her again it’ll be too soon…”
Entering the treehouse, after the thirty minutes to catch his breath, Spring smiled as a couple of boxes of moving supplies were placed on the hard oak floor. Flapping his two wings slowly, Spring hovered into the air before grabbing a box and opening it up to see a bunch off books.
“Yep this is the new shipment of books…”
Spring softly said as he took a couple of books into his hooves before heading to the shelf’s. Looking through the books, Spring noticed they were out of order.
“Bucking hell can no pony organize anything at all..?”
Spring said with hatred as he began to remove the books from the shelf’s.
—Two hours later—
Spring used a winged feather to wipe his forehead of sweat as his OCD for proper organization had kicked in, what a simple thirty minute ordering of books turned to two hours of constant shifting of both titles and order of authors into a single line of pure order. It didn’t help that his parents screwed with him by moving everything in his room during the school days to make sure he went insane for their stimulus checks every week.
With a soft sigh, Spring went upstairs to look for a shower to cool off and saw a few personal items of somepony else in boxes. Without thinking about their shower, Spring went up to the boxes and opened it up. Inside the box was a lot more books and a few comics which made Spring look revolted.
“Comics!? That trash in my library!? Buck that!”
Spring took the comics out of the box before walking to a nearby trash can and dumping them.
“Purely fictional garbage..!”
Spring hated comics with a passion, having been lied too about it being fun and engaging.
Spring then went to the bathroom, seeing the shower head before smiling softly.
—One hour later—
Spring exited the bathroom, emitting a ton of steam as he then shook his body violently to get rid of the excess water. Shortly after Spring went back to the box before picking out a book from it, not reading the title which clearly said Sparkle Family Album on it. Laying on the large bed that had a small wicker basket by the base of the bed, Spring opened the book before looking confused at all the pictures in it before examining each picture.
“What a confusing book… hmm I might need to do more reading to find out more…”
Spring softly said as he turned the page and began to see more pictures, which eventually led him to the nighttime as suddenly loud group of ponies shocked out of his reading.
“SURPRISE!”
Spring jolted up from reading the book, looking at the doorway that led downstairs to the main room. With a growl, Spring closed the book before carrying it into his wing before walking to the noise.
Spring wanted to die, it was a party with a mass group of ponies in the library that made no sense. No pony was to make this much noise in a library and it made him sick from the crowd. Slowly walking down the stairs, Spring noticed the pink menace from early today was there and with a couple other ponies that might be her friends which wasn’t good. So silently, Spring bobbed and weaved through the crowd before bumping into a pony.
“Hey! Watch where you’re going..!?”
The voice, a mare said before looking at Spring. Looking up at the mare; she was a purple unicorn with a purple mane, dark magenta eyes and a magenta star cutie mark. The mare looked at him with a scowl before looking at the book tucked under his wing and noticed the special marks on the spine of the book.
“Hey that’s mine!”
The mare said, causing the ponies to look at us despite it being too loud to hear.
“Unless you can prove it then it’s not yours… but if this wordless book is yours than that’s fine. Reading it was boring..”
Spring said with a wave of his crimson eyes, using a wing to give the mare the book before it levitated out of his wing before the mare grew angrier.
“Boring!? Yeah it’s a family album..! Wait you read my property!?”
A couple of ponies looked at eachother awkwardly as a small baby dragon walked up to the two, trying to calm the purple unicorn down.
“Twilight take it easy… he probably didn’t mean it…”
The baby dragon said, trying in vain to keep Twilight from snapping.
“If you call that album not boring at least we can agree that comics are pretty stupid.”
The baby dragon looked at Spring with wide eyes, looking shocked.
“Comics are amazing! How can you not like them!?”
Spring looked at the baby dragon, scoffing loudly.
“Hey go burn down a village, grown ups are talking.”
Many pony gasp at that comment, never seeing a pony act racist openly before, Twilight got into Springs face with a scowl.
“Don’t talk to Spike like that! He’s just a baby!”
Spring stared at twilight with a look of distain before responding.
“Baby or not it’s still a dragon, a dragon that eats ponies… why do you care it’s your servant after all..”
Twilight’s eyes widen before slapping Spring hard across the face with her hoof before screaming in his face.
“Get out of my Library!”
Spring growled before getting back in her face, screaming at her face.
“Make me with your superior magic you horse!”
Before anypony could do anything to deesculate the situation, a purple aura surrounded Spring before teleporting him away from her. Leaving a large mark on the oak floor. Everypony left shortly after, giving the angry mare some space.
—Canterlot pond—
“Splash—“
Spring emerged from the stagnant water, taking a deep breath of fresh air as he screamed out into the sky.
“THAT SPARKLE HORSE!!!!”
