Long time ago, in the lands north to Equestria, in the valley between the mountains, there was a valley. It was a home to the Nora -- religious tribe of many creatures, isolated from the dangerous outside world filled with mad machines. And in that tribe, there was a filly. Inlight Dust, white pegasi filly whose mother abandoned her on her very own birth. Hidden in the Sacred Mountain, she was found by the leaders of the Nora -- High Matriarchs. But instead of a All-Mother gift, they saw the curse of Metal Devil in her, so they had no other choice but to cast it away from the tribe, give it to another outcast -- Duskshine. He nurtured and raised Inlight, until one day she fell into the Old World ruin, where she found a gift from the past -- a small, curious Focus. It showed her many things which were unseen, hidden in the plain sight. And on that same day, she asked her guardian one fatal question: Why was she an outcast.

Since that day, Duskshine trained her for the only way she could re-enter the tribe -- The Proving. It was a ceremony for young creatures who wanted to prove themselves and become young tribe warriors. However, when the day before the Proving came, Duskshine leaves Inlight in hopes of embracing the tribe, and leaving her past behind. Despite their unpleasant goodbye, Inlight follow's her guardian's will of embracing the tribe, meeting a few creatures along the way: Spinning Tiger -- a young adventurous kirin, Silverhoof Sparkle -- a protective Royal Guard, and North Star -- An archaeologist, who bear the same Focus Inlight had. But to mare's surprise, North Star was quick to avoid any contact with her, rising the suspicion of her two-sided nature.

Despite the strange meeting, Inlight participates in the Proving, where she wins just before the others could win. But instead of getting what she always wanted, she ends up being in an unforeseen event, which forever will change fate of her, her friends, and whole Equestria.
