It started with a Sneeze
Why is this my punishment?
Previous ChapterNext Chapter“Faster you colt!” Rainbow screams at me as I sprint away from her, “You know what will happen if I catch up to you right?”
“Can't we talk this over like civilized Ponies!”
“Let me think about it. Okay, I thought about it. No,”
“Help!”
After my little speech to Twilight, she took pity on me, and apparently, that means she will do everything in her power to rehabilitate me. For the next month, I’ll be doing random community service requests from Ponyville and anything else the girls may come up with to make up for what I've done. And to make sure I don't weasel out of our deal or make a run for it. I now have a personal chauffeur or torturer, depending on how you look at it, following my every movement. Worst of all, she has been given free Privilege to do whatever she wants to me if I don't listen to her.
That was a week ago. Since then, I have been cleaning up trash, moving boxes, and getting my sorry hide back into shape according to Rainbow Dash. And that's where I find myself today. Every morning before any Pony wakes up; I must run away from the Multicolor-Flying Death Pony. At first, I thought she would be my coach, like a personal fitness trainer, to encourage me to never give up or something like that. But after she showed up on day one with a whip, I learned very quickly that if I don't keep running at a certain speed, I'll regret it.
I don’t know where she got that torture device but I can tell you this much, it hurts! She only managed to hit me once but that was all I needed to get the point. I'm starting to understand why some ponies went to the dark side now. Who needs villains when you have friends like these?
I look over my shoulder seeing the flying death as she winds up another shot with her whip before letting it fly and barely missing me but it did graze my the tip of my tail. Sweat pours down my face soaking my coat, as I pick up the speed. My muscles burn as I push harder than I ever had in my life trying not to get whipped into shape.
“Isn't there a better way to get back into shape!” I beg her as I feel my muscles are starting to wear out,
“Maybe but where's the fun in that,”
“This has to be illegal somewhere!”
“Maybe, but not here,” Swings her whip one more time encouraging me to pick up the pace, “Faster!”
“Mercy!”
Thankfully she does have some common sense knowing that I can't keep running forever. The only downside is that that means she'll keep this up until I collapse of exhaustion. So that's where I find myself hunching over Ponyville’s only Water Fountain Display and drinking the water from within disregarding the horrible flavor. Rainbow Dash looks disgusted at my actions but doesn't stop me. Other ponies who were passing by also shared her opinion, but I couldn't care less. Once I had my fill I gasped for air as I lifted my head out of the fountain,
Rainbow gags before addressing me, “You do know there is such thing as a water fountain that is intended for public use and not for displaying water shows and tossing bits into right?” She says a filly tossing in a bit into the fountain providing her point,
“I don't care. Water is water,” I say as I slump to the ground my muscles burning. I think about jumping into the water fountain to cool off and getting that bit, but I'm not that desperate. Even though I am a pony on parole, I still have some of my pride.
“Hey if you get sick that's going to be on me,” Gets into my face annoyed at my attitude toward my well-being, “And I don't want to take care of a sick Pony just because you decide to do something dumb Again!” She emphasizes the ‘again’,
I heavily sigh as she reminds me of that unpleasant memory, “For the last time, I did not mean to do that!”
“Whatever come on we got to get going,”
After my forced morning run, my next stop would be Sugarcube Corner, to help move some materials for the Cakes. Followed by cleaning up some branches and leaves around Sweet Apple Acres for most of the day. I had no idea how huge an Orchard could be until I had to walk back and forth to the same area multiple times a day. Rainbow Dash still not letting me live it down after I got lost twice, but in my defense, every tree looks the same, how am I supposed to know which way is the way out?
Furthermore, even after all this time, I have still yet to understand how magic works despite being a unicorn myself. I thought that maybe if I thought hard about something it would happen, but there is more to it than that. I tried to practice more in my free time to understand how it works with minimal success with a little spark coming from my horn. However, after accidentally zapping Rainbow Dash in the butt, I put my attempts of learning magic on hold for now. I thought she was going to murder me that day.
Despite Rainbow Dash's attempts on my life, it would appear that we got in rather close. She says that she sees me as a very unfortunate friend kind of like Derpy with terrible bad luck. And because of that, she feels like she has to ensure that I do not bring harm to myself and other ponies around me. Furthermore, she's forbidden me from seeing said mare. Something about the end of Ponyville if we ever were to meet. However, I believe she sees me more live punching bag that won’t fight back.
Speaking of Mares. I have yet to see Starlight after my untimely arrival in her sleeping quarters. It's nice that I'm starting to get along with the ponies, but out of all of them and I wish to see, she's on the top of the list. I don't blame her for avoiding me. I mean for crying out loud I am just a pervert in her eyes. Perhaps after my community service is done she may forgive me.
After another hard day of work, we make it back to the castle where hope starts rising within me. Rainbow informed me that she would not be able to keep an eye on me early in the morning. So something else will be looking after me for the day, but didn’t know who. She only knows that Everything is taken care of and I don't have to worry about it. And since I know that Twilight's friends have their jobs to take care of each day. I knew that limit the amount of personnel that it could be to herself or Starlight.
Unfortunately, that excitement that swelled up inside me made it difficult to fall asleep that night. The next morning I get up without worrying about being whipped into shape, as I look forward to seeing who is the pony in charge of me for the day. However, I was a bit surprised to see that they weren't waiting by my door when I got up, Although I did hear some ponies talking down the hall which prompted me to investigate.
Once closer, I can see that it is Starlight who is currently talking to somepony just out of view. She hadn't noticed me yet as I calmed my nerves. There are so many things I wish to say to her but I think I should start with an apology. Although I am receiving punishment for my actions I never truly apologize to Starlight for my transgressions against her. Even if my arrival here was out of my control. I still invaded a young lady’s sleeping quarters.
After I finally worked up the courage to go talk to her I came face to face with a new problem as the new pony came into view. To be fair, I had a lot on my mind when I first got here and only thought about how I was going to get along with Starlight. So I completely forgot about him. He wasn't a very important character in the show so he was always overlooked in my mind. Sunburst, Starlight's childhood friend and possible love interest.
Unlike the other main characters who had obvious problems finding a love interest. Starlight was one of the few characters to have a love interest in the show. Although they never got together officially, there's always been that hint that they could have. I glare at the stallion before he takes notes of me causing his conversation with Starlight to stop as they both look at me.
“Starlight who's this?” Sunburst asks unsure as to why I am glaring at him,
“That would be the Pervert, I was telling you about,” She says before looking away in a huff,
“That was this guy?” He says in shock,
“It wasn't on purpose,” I say dejectedly at her cold shoulder,
“How can accidentally teleporting yourself into some ponies bed be an accident?” He demands from me as he physically puts himself between me and Starlight,
“Because I can't use magic correctly that's why,” I clarify much do his confusion,
“What does magic have to do with it?” He asks as Starlight looks over his shoulder also wanting to know,
“Well considering I just showed up in the middle of the night without waking any Pony up. The only logical conclusion would be that I either silently flew into the building or teleported inside,” I move my hoofs in a flying motion before transitioning to moving them side to side to help emphasize my point,
“Teleporting yourself inside a building to a location you cannot see,” Starlight says terrified as Sunburst's face also matches her emotion, “Are you insane?!”
I look between the two unsure what the problem is, “What do you mean?”
Sunburst clears his throat before entering lecture mode, as he summons a chalkboard with pony-shaped doodles on it and two areas marked with an 'A' and 'B' with area 'B' having something blocking the doodle pony view, “Without seeing the location you wish to teleport," He points to the doodle pony before pointing to point 'B', "There is a chance you might end up failing the teleportation in a very devastating way. Sometimes in life-threatening ways," He then puts a big red 'X' on point 'B', "Which is why nopony uses self-teleportation magic without a clear line of sight,"
A shiver went down my spine as images of failed teleportation ran through my mind, “That makes a lot of sense," I replied as Starlight put the things away, "Regardless I'm pretty sure they keep the doors locked, so how else could I got myself in there?”
“Perhaps this stallion was sent into the room without his consent?” A new pony joined the conversation one that I never thought would be standing up for me.
We all look to the voice seeing a familiar mare that we all know and love as Starlight addressed her, “What do you mean Trixie?”
