Just before the three pony tribes caused the Windigos to appear and start to freeze over their lands to the north, there was a vicious war that occurred between the dragons and the changelings. Tired of being hunted by the shapeshifting race, the dragons sought to win their freedom from the changelings in an all-out war. Eventually, the war came to a close when all but a single changeling hive was killed off, forcing the remaining changelings to go into hiding.
