You smiled at Twilight. "So, all of Equestria, huh? I don't suppose, you know, Equestria could spare me a few bits? I think my work deserves something extra." You clear your throat and glance up at the library's tall shelves.

"What are you saying?" She frowned, brows pinching together. "Are you asking for a reward for turning in some dangerous magic?"

You rub one leg with the opposing hoof. "I'd do it anyway, a good citizen and all that. But I sure would like a few bits for flying with some dangerous relic, you know?"

"Oh. I suppose that is reasonable." She moved back to her desk. "Let me just write a check here."

You stand around, looking at the other books she had on her desk. One catches your eye and you pluck it with a wing. "How to Rainboom? This is in a book?!"

She turned back, hovering a slip of paper over to you. "Hmm? Yes. Some things you can learn from a book. Most things, I would argue." Twilight looked quite certain of that. "But that book is classified as dangerous. It cannot leave here, nor can I permit you to read it."

You let the paper float in the air, eyes more on that book. "What if that's the payment? I have one little book. I'll even bring it back! Once I read it. That is." You beam with excitement. You've always wanted to perform an actual rainboom! You can't imagine something more thrilling!

Twilight crosses her forelegs with a scowl. "I didn't make it this far by being gullible, no matter how harmless you look."

"Please?" You bat your eyelashes at her.

She sinks miserably. "Fine, but it's your fault if you get—" You snatch the book long before she can finish. "Just—" And you're out the door not long after that.

The town is amazed when a pegasus slams into the ground at a speed they thought impossible to reach, at least going straight down. You got what you wanted, and will live on in stories for generations.

The end.
