Previous ChapterNext ChapterYou march out towards that hovering unicorn. "Ma'am, could we talk a little? There seems to be some kind of misunderstanding."
She leers down at you with a huff. "How dare you question me? I'm Queen now!"
"Yes, but..." You think quickly. "I need an audience with the queen. You do have to take care of royal obligations, right?"
She frowns deeply. "Hmm. Well, perhaps a small break would be acceptable. What do you want to talk about?"
"Let's talk about this." You wave a hoof over the crowd. You relax as she comes down to land on the ground. "As royalty, your people's morale is suffering. Um, we could make that better, I think."
The mare gazes at you, making it clear she has no intention of stepping aside. "Could we?" She arches a brow at you. "I suppose I've been awfully busy lately. What with my rightful ascension to power and all. How do you propose, loyal subject, this be addressed?"
You chuckle nervously. "Uh, well, what if we give them an exciting, yet friendly challenge? They could compete for some sort of prize."
"Hmm." She leers at you. "But where would we get a prize?"
Ah, perfect! You wave nonchalantly at her tiara. "Getting to wear that, even for a moment, would surely motivate your people. Such stunning jewelry and the brow it already rested on? They'd gallop for miles, ma'am."
The mare looks unconvinced, but doesn't disagree. She raises a hoof to her head. "I suppose I could part with it. For a little while. But why would I want to motivate my loyal subjects?"
"So they work harder for you, of course." You turn to the others. "Wouldn't you all like a chance to wear that tiara for yourself?"
The crowd perks up at that. You don't have to tell them twice. Everypony comes forward to chant their support. With just a little urging from the unicorn, they're all more than willing to compete.
Perfect, now all you have to do is:
B: Get it from whoever wins the contest.
