CYOA: A Day in Ponyville

You push against the wind and rain. The weather has to be defeated, and Rainbow Dash is trusting you to try for a rainboom! "Alright!" You rise above the town, brushing against the worst of the weather. The storm stretches high above, filled with all sorts of terrible things. It's as if a fire inside you has been stoked to a blazing inferno.

You find as clear a path as you can in the angry gales and take it. Lightning flashes past you, and for a moment, you catch sight of a rainbow-maned pegasus struggling against the storm. You know you have little time to get it right, so you put your everything into pure speed. You tear through the skies as you build up momentum.

Your wings ache, as do your sides and back. Your body protests, trying to get you to slow down as the strain grows, but the rainboom feels so very close. With one last flap, you push yourself up as far as you can manage.

Lightning and thunder clash around you as you flail wildly, throwing out any notions of elegance or style. Rainbow Dash would be so disappointed, but if you don't do this, Ponyville is doomed. One of your wings suddenly flaps in a way it was never supposed to go. Dislocated, you yelp in pain and your speed just as quickly flees you. Gravity takes over. You plummet out of control towards the ground.

You have no control as you impact with a startlingly wet and soft patch of mud.

Warmth spreads across your back. Everything feels so warm, too warm.

It all goes dark.

You wake up some time later to Nurse Readheart's caring, if a little disappointed, smile.
