You chase after the closest tendril, waving the chair wildly at it. "Get back here!" You slam the chair into the ground, using its crystalline strength to pull yourself closer to that horrible monster.

It recoils every time you get close. Every slam of the chair gets a new flinch from it, leaving its fellows to deal with Applejack on their own. "I've got you!" You slam the chair again and land hard. "Take that!" You slam the tendril about to reach for her and it yelps like a puppy. The whole thing withdraws in a powerful motion towards the hole it came from.

Applejack kicks a tendril that tries to grab her flank, glaring at the others. "Now ah've got 'em." She spins around in place, smacking more of them with her tail. The tendrils draw back, not willing to challenge her after her display.

You hold up the chair in both hooves, putting it between you and the monsters. With it as a shield and a weapon, you start scaring it back towards the hole. "Go on, get!"

The Great and Powerful Trixie materializes from nothing, pointing her horn at you. "You can't frighten me!" Her magic crashes down on you. It feels like ice and fire at the same time, burning through your muscles and bones. You lift the chair for lack of better, and her magic scattered off it, splashing all across the room. She yelps as she gets caught in some of her own magic, the sprays stopping.

Applejack is not unscathed by the magical explosions. Her fur looks singed in places, and she reels back in pain. "Eggbucket! Trixie! When ah get mah hooves on ya."

Trixie is slumped on the floor, panting for breath.

You stomp towards the defeated unicorn and press the chair against her. "Enough. You quit or not?"

"N-never!" She laughs breathlessly, lifting her horn. "My magic is greater than you can ever hope to be!" She points it at you. The tip glows brightly before sending a pulse of light towards you. You know that trick already, parrying it with your chair and sending it flying right back at Trixie.

Trixie squeals in shock as her own magic bounces off the chair, encompassing her in its glow. She rapidly shrinks into a rodent form, becoming a little mouse with a mildly too-large hat. "This was not the plan Trixie had in mind."

Applejack tromps up next to you. "Got yer magic cancelled out." She steps on Trixie's tail, holding her still. "Ya won't be foolin' anypony anymore."

You level a hoof with Trixie's face. "Enough! Seriously. We're tired and worn out. We're heading back to town and you can say your sorries there."

Applejack grunts in agreement, looking around. "Glad them thin's ran away. Let's vamoose before they change their mind."

You saved the day, making this a fine day in Ponyville.

The end.
