“Oh my beloved subjects it’s been so long since I’ve seen your sun-loving faces.” Nightmare Moon said, overlooking the crowd of terrified ponies staring at her instead of her sister.
“What did you do with the princess!?” A cyan colored pegasus mare said loudly before flapping their wings and launching off to attack her, thankfully a orange colored earth pony grabbed the Pegasus’s few strands of rainbow tail with their teeth before holding them from charging in.
”Am I not royal enough for you? Don’t you know who I am? Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years.. Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?” Nightmare Moon asked the crowd as she looked at them, her inner thoughts plaguing her of being forgotten by time, when suddenly a purple unicorn shouted out her response. “I do! You are the mare in the moon..- Nightmare Moon!”
The crowd of ponies gasp in disbelief and horror at hearing the identity of the alicorn being revealed and adding to their fear. ”Well well well.. Some pony does remember me, then you do know why I’m here..-“ The unicorn stammered before Nightmare Moon continued, “Remember this day little ponies for it was your last as this moment forth the night will last forever!!” Nightmare moon cackled evilly as lightning struck around her.
—A Hour Later, The Ruins of the Ancient Royal Pony Sisters—
Nightmare Moon looked on in horror as the stones of the Elements of Harmony turned into necklaces around five mares behind the purple unicorn while creating a tiara on her head as the group rose in the air from the artifacts. Soon the room shook from the power before a magical rainbow beam flew into the air before arching down towards Nightmare Moon. ”Nooooo-!” Nightmare Moon screamed as the vortex wrapped around her body before burning the flesh and soul from it’s host before exploding in a bright light. Luna felt her head throb as the voice in her head was gone and with wide eyes, shot up her head as she saw her old armor in disheveled pieces around her. Fear began to creep into Luna’s mind as being alone again on the moon and left completely empty as the shell of who she was, is completely lost.
Luna paranoia was cut off as a large white alicorn stood above her, looking up to see her older sister staring at her as blood drooled out her eyes. The words coming out of her mouth caused Luna to back away from her. ”You worthless Worm! You don’t deserve to be wearing my sister flesh.. Take… it..OFF!!!”Luna backed away from her even more as suddenly she was grasped by the horrifying demon.
”Luna! Are you ok!? Please calm down.. you’re safe now..” Celestia said, keeping a firm grip hold on her younger sister as the rest of the ponies stare in confusion. ”C… Celestia… Is… is that you…?” Celestia hugged her sister tightly as she was finally reunited with family.
—Several minutes later, Ponyville Square—
Luna looked at the townsponies, Straightening up her pose as every pony could see her and felt as if they could see every imperfection and would scream out her as a fake at any second. The small bundle of flowers on her neck didn’t help her mood at all as Celestia spoke with her prized student, all the while a voice in her head whispered fears and paranoia to send her into a spiral. ”Who are you..? Your not even worth being Celestia’s sister wearing that skin like a suit.. your nothing but a fake…” Loona let a few tears fall as the voice was right and it made her wonder why she was left to be in this strangers body. Celestia saw Luna and smiled softly, thinking it was feeling loved by the ponies of Ponyville before taking her leave and taking her and Luna home back in Canterlot. The only pony to notice something wrong with Celestia’s sister was the town’s clutz, Derpy Hooves.
—Fifteen Minutes after leaving Ponyville, Canterlot Courtyard—
After landing in the courtyard Celestia led Luna around the castle, showing their new home. ”Its so great to have you back Lulu, it’s been far too long…” Celestia said as she turned to see Luna, only to see her staring out a window near the entrance of the castle. Celestia frowned slightly at seeing her little sister ignoring her before walking up to her. ”Luna come on… I know it’s been a thousand years since our fight but that’s in the past… please.. don’t hide behind your emotions again…” Celestia pleaded softly before Luna looked at her, her eyes filled with regret and sorrow. ”Am I really home..?” Luna said, the complete isolation and lack of any kind of entertainment had broken her mentally. Even when Discord was causing so much chaos it wasn’t even remotely close to being very dangerous, after turning him to stone he was placed in the vault for a few years to keep from being accidentally released or even killed by some pony with a grudge. Even after all that, Celestia and I would talk to him from time to time and hope to him change, he at least had someone to talk too.
Celestia hugged her sister tightly, holding her tightly and began to speak however it went unnoticed as Luna began to smile and hug her big sister back. They stayed like that for a few minutes before separating and continuing the tour.
—Twenty minutes later, Luna’s room—
After the tour and getting into her new room, Luna waited for a few minutes before walking up to the vanity table near her bed before getting a good look at her face. He eyes were a dark sapphire while she had dark bags under her them, her mane wasn’t flowing like her older sister and her body was a deep sea blue. Luna hated the thing in the mirror and despised it intensely before raising a hoof and smashing it into the vanity mirror, leaving the image to be distorted and cracked. Luna grabbed a piece of the glass, that was big enough to do the job, in her light blue magic before walking to the farthest and darkest corner of the room before sitting there. With a deep breath, Luna began to cut into her forelegs with the glass shard and watch as her alicorn body heal the injury quickly before doing it again and again and again. Luna would not sleep at all that day nor will she find comfort in the silence and loneliness she felt in her heart and soul.

Nightmare Night
”Luna I think you should go to ponyville for the Nightmare night celebrations… It might do you some good to see ponies that aren’t afraid of you..”
Celestia said before sighing softly in front of Lunas bedchambers. It had been only a few days after being cleansed of Nightmare Moon’s influence and yet Luna has chosen to recluse herself in her room, the night sky lacking any passion as if it was done in a half flanked attempt to go back to sleep or something. The staff hardly even seen her little sister after first seeing her and even after convincing them to not be afraid Luna looked miserable and downright disgusted at the fear she had not deserved, maybe getting out of the castle will do her some good..
”T.. Thy make a good point t… Tia… but are thee sure it should be there..?” Luna asked her sister, the dark room hiding the dead mare from the afternoon light that might burn her flesh in a instant, hoping to just skip the holiday and stay cooped in her room and away from showing her imperfections to the ponies of equestria.
”Lulu they can’t be expected to show love instantly.. it needs time and patience for results..” Celestia said as a royal guard walked up to her, taking her attention from her sister.
”Thy right… We will go to ponyville tonight for thee festivities” Luna said, walking away from the door before staring at the cracked vanity mirror. Her distorted image of both her and Nightmare moon staring at her before she would start preparing herself for tonight.
—Arrival at Ponyville, late at night with a full moon—
Luna was absolutely terrified to the core as her carriage stopped above the town square. Bolts of lightning crash around her as the dread of being shunned and hated was high but she made a promise to herself to attempt at being friendly with the ponies. Jumping off the carriage and landing on the ground gently without destroying the ground underneath her nor slamming into the ground due to her pegasus magic, raising her head and throwing back her cloaks head to reveal her identity to the ponies with a smile. Gazing on the trembling pony in front of her, Luna felt a pit in her stomach grow as her smile faded.
”Do not fear thy ponies… We.. I.. I mean I princess Luna is not to be-“ Luna started to say, in her defense it was not a very good idea to show up on a holiday meant to cheer her banishment and fear her sins, when a bolt of lightning exploded behind her causing every pony to scream in terror before running around like a chickens head cut-off.
Luna stared to panic, looking around to see ponies running around in terror and destroying their own decorations and costumes, it took looking up and seeing a shadow bolt on a storm cloud laughing to cause Luna to full blown panic and hyperventilate.
Terror
Luna began to whimper, the despair in her heart growing as she remembered that no matter where she went that no pony would ever be crazy enough to not show any fear when seeing her as anything but a monster. As her mind spiraling out of control and sanity, Luna powered her horn before trying to use a paralyzing spell on every pony to calm them down when something slammed into her side hard causing her focus to be broken and change the spell entirely as she was sent to the dirt.
“ZzZzZzsh—BOOM!”
A lighting bolt shot out of Luna’s horn, leaving the top part of her horn to be burned pitched black, hitting a building made of gingerbread and setting it ablaze. Luna looked at the burning building before looking to had slammed into her before seeing a tall red earth pony with a large hat, cape and yoke. The pony snorted as pegasi started to get rain clouds to put out the inferno that she caused, Trying to get up as her body felt wrong. The pony pushed her back down and held her there, they growled as they kept her from getting up.
“Nuh uh! You don’t get to walk away from that display of destruction, monster!”
The pony said making Luna panic even more, it didn’t matter if she would say it was a accident since she was a monster after all, so Luna used her magic and teleported away from the earth pony and leaving many ponies in a panic as a monster was escaping justice. Twilight watched it all go down, seeing the pure fear in Princess Lunas face when she scared the towns folk at the bolt of lightning and when she was tackled down by Big Mac. Twilight used the time to help put out the fire as Pinkie Pie, mr and ms cake cried at loosing their home/jobs.
—Old Royal Sisters Castle, Lunas old room—
Popping into existence again, Luna panted loudly as her body trembled from the pain and traumatic experience of destroying a building while only trying to help. Luna looked around her room, smiling softly as her old room was still here yet frowned at its broken interior reminded her of her sins again, it was beginning to be too much as loona looked at the large mirror at the far side of the room. Walking up to it, Luna stared at the reflection as her mind began to torture her again.
”Good job freak, you ruined your chance at being respected and loved. You destroyed a ponies home and left before trying to make it right… you absolute failure of a princess!”
The voice was right, Luna ruined her chances with ponyville and felt disgusted with her body and actions until a thought came to her mind.
—Warning! Some Light Gore incoming—
Spreading her glorious wings, Luna used her magic to grab hold of them before putting something thick in between her teeth. With a deep breath, Luna snapped both wing ligaments from her body and howling in pain and agony. Twisting and turning, the wing joints made sickening crunches a popping sounds as Luna started to tear her wings off. Flesh started to tear from her wing joints as bone was exposed to the chill air, blood gushing from the wounds as more howls of pain continued to come from her. It took what seemed like centuries, but after ripping both wing and wing ligaments from her body did Luna spit out the object in her mouth. Blood drooled quickly from her wounds as her healing process began, however with Luna Psyche in absolute shreds the healing knocked her out and left her unconscious body to heal in the pool of blood.
—End of gore—
—Princess Celestia’s bed chambers—
Celestia lounged on her bed, holding a cup of tea in her telekinetic as she took a small sip from the cup. It felt nice that Luna was enjoying herself at Ponyville and it will be much more exciting to talk with her sister about it. Suddenly a letter appeared in front of her, Celestia considered reading it but remembered it would be a friendship letter from Twilight so she wait to read it in the morning.
—Old Royal Pony Sisters Castle, under the glow of a bright sun—
Waking up, a pony mare blinked the sleep out of her eyes before sitting up. The feeling of liquid touching a part of her fur that wasn’t already drenched caused them to look down and see the vast amount of blood underneath her. Screaming loudly, the mare shot up from the puddle of blood before backing away from it before seeing the mirror at the far end of the room, cautiously walking forward. Once infront of the mirror she got a good look at herself. She was pretty small for the mirror’s past owner, she was about 1.83 meters tall with a short burnt out horn. Moving to her side, the mare looked at her flank in the mirror and saw an easel with the picture of the moon on it and surrounded by a spilled midnight blue paint. Her mane was dark blue while her coat was the same but her eyes were a midnight cyan. Staring into her eyes, she felt lost and helpless as if by staring at her eyes she could see a alicorn weeping but without clues or knowledge about the alicorn it felt unimportant to bother knowing. With a smile, the mare exclaimed.
”Ready or not world… I.. Easel Ink will find my place in this world!!”
