Prologue - The New Home (Unaired Pilot)
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe sun was shining brightly over Ponyville, casting warm golden rays across the peaceful town. Birds chirped merrily, and the air buzzed with the energy of a new day. Inside the towering crystal castle belonging to Twilight Sparkle, the Mane 6 had gathered for yet another of their magical discoveries and adventures. Today, however, felt special. There was a sense of mystery in the air, and Twilight could barely contain her excitement.
"Okay, everypony, I can show you the push button!" Twilight Sparkle announced with pride as she led her friends into the large room in the castle's heart. Her wings fluttered with excitement as she revealed a small pedestal in the center of the room. Atop the pedestal sat a simple yet intriguing button, its surface gleaming in the sunlight that streamed through the castle's crystal windows.
Fluttershy, always the most reserved of the group, approached the button cautiously. Her eyes were wide with curiosity as she marveled at the object before her. "Oh wow, that is an amazing button, Twilight," she whispered, her voice barely louder than a gentle breeze.
Applejack, ever the practical one, tilted her hat back as she inspected the button with a discerning eye. She let out a low whistle, her voice filled with curiosity. "I wish I could buy that," she remarked, her mind already racing with thoughts of what such a device could do on her farm.
Rarity, always the picture of elegance and refinement, studied the button with a raised eyebrow. She wasn’t sure how a mere button could be worth much attention, but she trusted Twilight’s judgment. Still, she couldn't help but be a bit skeptical. "Dear lord, that was only 50 bits?" she asked, her tone a mix of disbelief and mild interest.
Pinkie Pie, the group's perpetual bundle of energy, couldn't contain her excitement. She bounced around the room with unbridled enthusiasm, her curly pink mane bobbing up and down as she giggled and cheered. "Woo-hoo!" she exclaimed, her joy infectious as always.
Fluttershy, her gentle nature always prompting her to think of the potential consequences, took a small step back and voiced her concerns. "Does it do anything... um, dangerous?" she asked softly, her voice tinged with worry.
Twilight, ever the responsible and thoughtful leader, paused to consider the possibilities. She hadn't fully tested the button yet, and the uncertainty gnawed at her. With a slight frown, she replied, "Well, I don't know for sure. Perhaps a scary monster will come to Ponyville, or an earthquake, or maybe... the end of the world." Her voice trailed off as the gravity of her words sank in, and she stared at the button with a mix of awe and fear.
Rainbow Dash, always the thrill-seeker, couldn't resist the temptation. She hovered closer to the button, her wings flapping excitedly as she examined it from every angle. "Whoa, what does this button do?" she asked eagerly, her hoof inching closer and closer to the shiny surface.
Twilight’s eyes widened in alarm as she realized what Rainbow Dash was about to do. "Rainbow, don’t press that—" she started, her voice rising in panic. But it was too late.
"Button." Twilight finished her sentence.
Rainbow's hoof came down on the button with a soft click. The room was instantly filled stood still, and everything around them seemed to be the same. For a moment, The Mane 6 begins to fade out, as it felt as if time itself had stopped, and then, in the blink of an eye, the Mane 6 were no longer in Twilight's castle.
The sensation of falling hit them all at once. One moment, they had been standing in Twilight's castle, and the next, they were plummeting through the sky, with nothing but clouds and blue sky around them. The wind roared in their ears as they tumbled through the air, the ground rushing up to meet them at an alarming speed.
The six ponies screamed in unison, their voices mingling with the wind as they flailed in midair, trying desperately to make sense of what was happening. Rainbow Dash surveyed her friends falling down to their uncertain faith.
"Oh no! What have I done? I need to save my friends, no matter what!" Rainbow Dash shouted over the deafening wind. Her wings flapped furiously as she darted between her friends, trying to gather them together. "Hold on, girls, I'm coming!" she yelled, her voice filled with determination.
Twilight Sparkle, usually the calm and collected leader, couldn’t contain her terror. Her wings flailed uselessly as she stared wide-eyed at the ground below. "Sweet mother of God, we're going to die!" she screamed, her voice trembling with fear.
Fluttershy whimpered softly, curling into a ball as she fell, while Applejack gritted her teeth, trying to keep her hat from flying off. Rarity clung to Pinkie Pie, her mane whipping around wildly as they fell together.
The island below grew larger and larger as they plummeted, the details of the terrain becoming clearer with each passing second. Palm trees, sandy beaches, and a dense jungle loomed before them, and Rainbow Dash knew she had to act fast.
With all her strength, Rainbow Dash zoomed around her friends, catching each one and slowing their descent just enough to prevent a catastrophic crash. One by one, they hit the sandy beach with a series of thuds and groans, but miraculously, they were all safe.
The soft, warm sand cushioned their fall, and after a few moments of dazed silence, the Mane 6 began to pick themselves up, brushing sand from their coats and shaking off the shock of their sudden arrival.
Rainbow Dash, panting heavily from her efforts, looked around at her friends, relieved to see that everyone was okay. "Here you go, guys. Phew, that was close," she said, her voice still shaky from the adrenaline rush.
Twilight Sparkle, still trying to catch her breath, shot Rainbow Dash a stern look. "Oh, thanks, Rainbow, but I don't want you to press that button again," she said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Rainbow Dash's ears drooped as she hung her head in shame. "Okay, Twilight, I won't," she replied quietly, her usual bravado replaced with guilt.
Twilight sighed, her wings drooping as she surveyed their surroundings. The island was beautiful, with crystal-clear waters lapping at the shore and lush greenery stretching as far as the eye could see. But the beauty of the place did little to lift her spirits as the realization of their situation began to sink in.
"Anyway, let’s just go back to Ponyville before—" Twilight began, but she froze mid-sentence as she realized something. There was no way back. No sign of the castle, no portal, no magical way home. They were stranded.
"Great... just great!" Twilight exclaimed, her frustration bubbling over. "Girls, we came down all this way only to be stuck in the middle of an island. Darn it!" She stomped her hoof in the sand, the stress of the situation beginning to take its toll.
Rainbow Dash, overwhelmed with guilt, stepped forward, her voice trembling with regret. "Twilight, everypony... I am so sorry for what I did to the button," she began, her usual confidence completely gone. "I was just so curious... all I wanted was to test it out, but now... now I'm an egghead," she finished, her voice cracking as she tried to hold back tears.
Twilight, seeing the genuine remorse in her friend’s eyes, softened. She stepped closer to Rainbow Dash and placed a comforting hoof on her shoulder. "That’s okay, Rainbow Dash. It was an accident," she said gently, her voice full of understanding. "I was testing the button to see if it worked, but it just teleported random things. I was so afraid... but now we can't go back home," Twilight added, her voice breaking as tears welled up in her eyes.
Pinkie Pie, ever the optimist and always ready to lift her friends' spirits, bounced over to Twilight and wrapped her in a tight hug. "Oh, Twilight, please don't cry! We'll get to the bottom of this, so quit crying!" she said cheerfully, her bright smile infectious.
Twilight sniffled and nodded, trying to regain her composure. "Can you girls cheer me up with something?" she asked, her voice still shaky but hopeful.
Applejack, always the practical one, tipped her hat and suggested, "Maybe a party?"
Twilight blinked, her mind momentarily distracted from their predicament. "Okay, that was a good question, Applejack. But how can we make a party into a tropical island?" she asked, curiosity piqued.
Rainbow Dash, her spirits slowly returning, grinned. "I don't know, but maybe we can add some stuff to the beach and have a campfire for the night," she suggested, her enthusiasm beginning to bubble up again.
Twilight's eyes brightened as the idea took shape in her mind. "Rainbow, that's a great idea! Okay, everypony, let's build!" she declared, her determination renewed.
The Mane 6 worked together, building shelters, gathering supplies, and creating a cozy campsite on the beach. They laughed, joked, and shared stories as they worked, finding comfort in each other's company despite their unexpected predicament.
However, as the sun began to set, Twilight let out a frustrated groan as she held her mobile phone, however, her phone ran out of battery and there's no Wi-Fi elsewhere. "What the hay... no Wi-Fi, no battery... UGH!" she exclaimed, throwing her hooves in the air in exasperation.
As the final touches were added, the girls stepped back to admire their work. "Finished!" they cheered in unison, proud of what they'd accomplished.
As the night fell, the Mane 6 gathered around the campfire, enjoying a delicious dinner that they had managed to put together. Pinkie Pie, munching on her food, turned to Rainbow Dash. "Gosh, that was a delicious dinner, right, Dashie?" she asked, her mouth full of food.
Rainbow Dash nodded, licking her lips. "That's right! I can't believe we're eating... oh, what's that word again, Fluttershy?" she asked, her brow furrowed as she tried to remember.
Fluttershy, always happy to help, smiled softly. "Jamaican jerk chicken, chips, and some curry," she answered quietly.
"Ok, Thanks," Rainbow Dash replied, satisfied.
Applejack, ever the planner, turned to Twilight with a serious expression. "So, any idea how we're gonna to be stuck on this island, Twilight?" she asked, concern lacing her voice.
Twilight sighed, her wings drooping. "Well, everypony, since we left Ponyville, we have to stay here until we can find out what will happen next. But... I don't think it will," she admitted, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
Pinkie Pie suddenly raised a hoof, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Ah Twilight, I have a question!" she said eagerly.
Twilight looked at Pinkie with curiosity. "Okay, Pinkie."
Pinkie Pie grinned from ear to ear. "Are we gonna have an adventure on this island?" she asked, practically bouncing in place.
Twilight's eyes lit up at the idea. "That's a good idea, Pinkie!" she exclaimed, her mood lifting.
Rainbow Dash, her adventurous spirit fully rekindled, looked at Twilight in surprise. "What did she say!?" she asked excitedly.
Twilight nodded, a determined smile on her face. "Well, I think we can make our own adventure on this island," she replied confidently.
Rarity, always one to consider her appearance and comfort, raised an eyebrow. "Is this going to be... fun?" she asked hesitantly.
Twilight nodded enthusiastically. "Why yes, Rarity!" she assured her friend.
Rarity sighed in relief, a small smile forming on her lips. "Okay."
Rainbow Dash pumped her hoof in the air, her excitement growing. "Or maybe it's going to be an awesome adventure!" she declared, her eyes shining with anticipation.
Twilight laughed, the warmth of her friends' enthusiasm lifting her spirits. "Of course! We can explore, or swim, or many other. Isn't that right?" she asked, looking at her friends.
"Yeah!" they all cheered in unison, their excitement infectious.
Fluttershy, always the quiet one, added softly, "Yay!"
Twilight smiled, feeling more confident with each passing moment. "Oh well, it's getting late, so we'll probably have to go to sleep. And tomorrow, our adventure will begin," she announced, her voice filled with anticipation.
"Well, good night, girls," she added, settling into her makeshift bed.
"Good night, darling," Rarity replied, snuggling into her blankets.
"Good night!" Pinkie Pie chirped.
"Good night," Fluttershy whispered.
"Good night," Applejack said, tipping her hat as she lay down.
"Good night!" Rainbow Dash called out, but as she lay down, her mind raced. She couldn't shake the guilt she felt for pressing the button in the first place.
Rainbow Dash sighed, staring up at the starry sky. "Darn it, Rainbow... what were you thinking? I shouldn't have pressed that button in the first place. Well, I could've talked to Twilight," she muttered to herself.
Gathering her courage, she spoke up, her voice filled with regret. "Um... Twilight?"
Twilight, already half-asleep, murmured, "Yes, Rainbow?"
Rainbow Dash hesitated for a moment before continuing. "About earlier today... I felt sorry for you guys. But you know what? I think we learned a few lesson today: never touch that button," she said, her voice soft but sincere.
Twilight smiled sleepily, her heart warmed by Rainbow's words. "That was a cool speech, Dash. So, let's get some sleep because tomorrow, our adventure begins," she replied, her voice gentle.
Rainbow Dash smiled, feeling a sense of peace. "Okay, Twilight. Sleep well."
"You too," Twilight murmured, her eyes closing as she drifted off to sleep.
The night was quiet as the Mane 6 settled in, their hearts filled with excitement and anticipation for the adventure that awaited them on the island.
The End.
