King Sombra wandered through the Castle of Friendship with a mix of curiosity and boredom. It was the second day he was there, but he had nothing left to see except the alicorn.
His eyes landed on Twilight, who was surrounded by a precarious mountain of books, each one taller than the last. Finally, with a sigh of frustration, he turned toward her.
“Hey, can I go for a walk? I’m getting bored here, and this place…” he said, stretching a hoof toward the door, “…isn’t exactly exciting.”
Twilight raised an eyebrow, unable to hide her concern. She quickly put down the book she was reading.
“No, you can’t,” she responded firmly.
King Sombra placed a hoof to his forehead in an exaggerated gesture of despair.
“Oh, what a misfortune!” he exclaimed with a touch of sarcasm. “Captive in the Rainbow Castle! Kidnapped to another world by the unyielding Princess Twilight Sparkle! What a cruel fate I’ve been dealt!”
Twilight raised an eyebrow, unable to suppress a smile.
“Yes, yes! Quite the drama!” she said sarcastically. “Just stay here and don’t cause any trouble. The ponies would be scared if they saw you around.”
King Sombra frowned, clearly disappointed.
“Really? How bad are the ponies’ social skills in this world?” he murmured, looking around disdainfully.
Twilight let out a nervous laugh, trying to mask her discomfort. It wasn’t so much the ponies but King Sombra’s presence that made her uneasy. She then sighed in relief, glad that at least her friends didn’t have to deal with this awkward situation.
“You’re lucky my friends weren’t here when you showed up,” she said with a tone of relief. “Each one is on a mission assigned by the Cutie Map. So for now, you’re alone with me.”
King Sombra raised an eyebrow, intrigued. The words “alone with me” made him lift an eyebrow, but he understood that Twilight was referring to the current situation. With a small sigh of relief, he relaxed a bit.
“Mission? Cutie Map? What kind of system do you have here for assigning tasks?”
Twilight looked at him with a mix of exasperation and pride.
“It’s a magical artifact that assigns missions based on the needs of Equestria. In other words, each of my friends is busy doing important things to help others. And you, of course, are not on the list.”
King Sombra crossed his front legs and gave her an interested look, a playful smile on his lips.
“Well, it seems I’m here at quite a dull time. Can’t you help me find something to do? Maybe something that will keep me… entertained.”
He moved a little closer to Twilight, his dark eyes filled with a seductive glint.
“I’m not saying you need to do it right now, but there are always interesting ways to pass the time. What do you think, Sparkle? Do you have any suggestions for a ‘hobby’ while I’m here?”
Twilight, taken aback by the insinuation, blushed slightly and turned away, trying to maintain her composure.
“No, I’m not offering you anything like that!” she said quickly. “Just stay put and don’t cause trouble. I don’t need more problems today!”
King Sombra moved a little closer to Twilight, his playful smile still present.
“You know,” he began in an intrigued tone, “truth be told, you resemble the Twilight I know a bit. Although, I’d dare say you’re a bit different.”
Twilight, hearing that, furrowed her brow.
“Oh, really? How was that Twilight?” she asked, genuinely interested.
King Sombra made a face, his smile fading for a moment.
“Oh, she’s a much more… unpleasant version,” he replied disdainfully. “Always so annoying, always trying to be the best at everything, the perfect student,” he said with contempt. “Although, in your case, it seems you’ve taken an even more tedious turn.”
Twilight, hearing the comment, frowned even more, feeling a mix of indignation and curiosity.
“Really? You didn’t seem to like her much,” she retorted. “But from what I see, you’re not exactly the king of ‘good taste’ when it comes to company.”
King Sombra moved a little closer to her, his eyes glinting seductively. He leaned in slightly, bringing his face closer to Twilight’s.
“Oh, Sparkle, when it comes to company…” he whispered suggestively, “I’d say I’m the best at certain ‘matters’.”
His warm breath brushed Twilight’s cheek, causing her to blush and take a step back instinctively.
“Don’t get me wrong,” he continued with a mischievous smile. “If you ever get bored of your magical experiments or your… rainbow books, you can always count on me for a more… stimulating experience.”
Twilight blushed even more, her mind racing as she tried to maintain her composure. She turned around abruptly, trying to hide her growing discomfort.
“I don’t know what you’re implying, but don’t even think about it!” she said, her voice trembling slightly. “Just stay in the library and don’t cause more problems. I have enough things to think about without dealing with you!”
King Sombra crossed his legs, looking at Twilight with a look of feigned resignation.
“What else am I supposed to do? You won’t even let me help,” he said with a disappointed grimace.
Twilight, with a mix of seriousness and caution, responded:
“It’s not that I don’t want you to help, but… I still don’t fully trust you.”
Sombra raised an eyebrow, clearly disappointed. With a sigh that combined frustration and acceptance, he turned away.
“As you say, Sparkle,” he responded, almost resignedly. “Although, I can’t promise I won’t find ways to entertain myself.”
Twilight quickly walked away, trying to regain her composure while King Sombra settled with a look of complete tranquility. And so the day went on.
