Magic Killer
Part 10
Previous ChapterNext ChapterBack at the hideout, Killian teleported right in front of Sunset. He was holding the bloody stub where his arm used to be. Sunset looked on in shock.
“What happened?!” She yelled.
Killian ignored her. He reached around and grabbed a circular, metallic box and placed it on the second chair. Killian opened it and took out a syringe full of green liquid. He then stabbed it into his stub and injected the liquid, which caused him to howl in pain. Killian then took out a tube containing blue goo. He squeezed it onto his stub and rubbed it all over. Killian then took out a round metallic disc on a rod that looked like a flattened spoon. He pressed a button on the side that made the disk heat up. Killian then pushed the disk against the goo and his stub. This time his howl of pain was even louder.
“Serves you right.” Sunset said with a serious look on her face.
Killian grabbed the chair as he bent over and inhaled deeply. He then looked up at Sunset.
“I have underestimated your friends. They have pushed me to use my weapon of last resort.”
Killian then walked over to the wall where there was a lever. He pulled it, and a strange device lower from the ceiling. It looked like a combination between a satellite dish and a robotic claw.
“What the hell is that?!” Sunset screamed.
Killian walked over to a control panel next to the lever. “It is something that I came across during my dimensional travels. I call it a magic harvester. It removes the magical power from someone’s body. I have made use of it very frequently.”
“You’re going to take my magic?”
“Not just that. I have been collecting magic from overpowered beings from every world that I have visited. I have developed a way to convert the magic into ant-magic. I have stored enough ant-magick to create an ant-magic bomb. Once detonated, it will erase all magic across the multiverse. I was waiting to detonate it, but due the power of your friends I am forced to use the bomb now.”
“You’re crazy!” Sunset shouted.
“No. I’m just making sure that great power is never abused again. By the way, this will be painful.”
Killian pushed some buttons on the control panel. The magic harvester lowered and pressed against Sunset’s chest. It pulsated with bright lights while making a loud whirring noise. Sunset screamed in agony as her magic was forcefully pulled out of her body. It felt like her heart was being ripped out.
A bright glowing orb then popped out of Sunset’s chest and was stuck to the center of the magic harvester like a magnet. Killian turned the magic harvester off and grabbed Sunset’s magic, placing it in a jar.
Sunset slouched forwards in her chair. Her body was as cold as ice. She was pale and shivering. Inside, Sunset felt hollow. Like she was nothing more than a husk of her former self.
Back at Twilight’s house, everyone gathered in her lab as she examined the ax and the severed arm.
“Have you found out anything?” Timber asked.
“Yes. Apparently this ax that the killer was using is made of magicite.”
“Magicite? What’s that?” AppleJack asked.
“It’s a material from Equestria.” Adagio explained. “It has the ability to nullify magic.”
“How did this killer get a hold of magicite?” Rainbow Dash asked.
Twilight picked up the severed arm. The sight of it made Fluttershy queasy.
“I have been studying the effects of traveling between our world and the world of Equestria. Wherever someone travels through a dimensional portal, they become covered in what appears to be some sort of magic particles. Since we have all used the portal at least once, we are already covered with these particles. Upon closer examination of the killer's arm, I have also found the particles but in much higher amounts.”
“You mean to say that this has been traveling through dimensional portals?” Timber asked.
Twilight nodded her head. “Yes, and multiple times.”
“That means the killer has been to multiple worlds.” Sonata said.
“And has a super high body count.” Aria added.
A flash of light appeared in Twilight’s lab. When it faded, Sunset was laying on the ground. She was shivering violently.
Everyone rushed to her side. Twilight touched Sunset’s face, and it felt like ice. “Sunset! Are you alright? What happened to you?!” She asked.
Sunset looked up at her friends with pale eyes. “My…magic…is…gone.” She said while having a hard time breathing.
“How? Was it the killer?” Rarity asked.
“Killian. He wants…to…destroy…magic.” Sunset then very weakly raised her hand to reveal that she was holding a note. Twilight took it from her hand and read it out loud.
“Camp Everfree. Meet me there at sundown. It will be your last. Killian.”
“He wants to end it where his killing spree began.” Timber said.
Sunset’s breathing became more and more shallow by the second. “You must…go. Save the magic.”
“Sunset, we have to get you to a hospital!” Pinkie Pie yelled.
“It’s…too late…for…me.” A slight smile then appeared on Sunset’s face. “Thank you…all…for giving me…a…second chance…and for…being…my…friends.” Sunset then closed her eyes and her breathing stopped.
Twilight checked her pulse. “She’s gone.”
