The stranger put his mask back on. “After the other members of the resistance rescued me, they did their best to fix me. Even though I didn’t talk, we still knew that it was a matter of time before the magic wielders found our base. Then one day a patrol stole something from a military caravan. It was a green crystal that allowed its user to teleport anywhere they wanted, even to other worlds.” The stranger then showed Sunset the green crystal on his arm.

“So that’s how you’ve been appearing and disappearing from crime scenes!”

“Time was running out. The magic wielders were right on our trail. We knew we were doomed, and that our world was long gone. So it was decided that we would not let what happened to our world happen to others. It was decided that one of us would use the crystal to travel to different worlds and destroy the magic wielders there before they achieved power.”

Sunset tried to plead with the stranger. “Listen! Not all magic users are bad! What happened to you and your world was terrible, but there are still those that wield magic for good!”

“I have been to dozens of worlds, and I have encountered people who have said just what you have said. They were liars. Magic is the most evil thing to happen in the history of existence, and I will snuff it out.”

“How can you just cold heartedly kill people?”

“I abandoned my emotions long ago. They only got in the way. There is but one emotion that I have left.”

“And what is that?”

“Hate.”

Sunset struggled to get out of the chair that she was tied to.

“Your efforts are futile. That rope is made from magicite. You will never be able to get out of it. Especially with your powers.”

“Why are you keeping me alive?”

“Because I want you to witness my final act. You brought magic to this world, and you will see it destroyed completely.”

The stranger got up and walked towards the metal door. Sunset called out to him one more time. “What is your name?”

The stranger paused for a moment. He then turned to face Sunset.

“Killian.”

Pinkie and the others met up at Twilight’s house. She told them everything that had happened, including the disappearance of Sunset.

“Both Juniper and Wallflower are dead. This maniac really is going after people who have used magic!” Rarity said in a panicked tone.

AppleJack put hand reassuringly on Rarity’s shoulder. “We can’t live in fear. This killer is going to be stopped.”

“But what about Sunset?” Rainbow Dash asked. “She could be anywhere!”

Twilight returned just then to her house. Timber Spruce was with her.

“Twilight, are you alright?” Fluttershy asked.

“I’m fine. The police arrived at the scene and interviewed me. I told them everything I knew except for the magic part. I then called Timber Spruce and he gave me a ride home.”

“Twilight told me everything that happened, including Sunset disappearing.” Timber Spruce started pacing around the room. “What are we going to do?”

Rainbow Dash thought for a minute, then she spoke up. “Well, so far this stranger has killed most of the people who have used magic with the exception of us and three others. It might be in our best interest if we teamed up with them.”

AppleJack raised an eyebrow. “You can’t be serious.”

Rainbow Dash nodded her head. “Oh yes I am. We need to team up with The Dazzlings.”
