Previous ChapterNext Chapter[Nurse Redheart POV]
Nurse Redheart couldn't help but feel a twinge of pity as she observed Mellow through the therapy room's glass window. The colt looked so determined, her arms quivering with the effort of holding onto a simple wooden block 🪵. It was heartwarming to see the young Pegasi push herself, but it was also clear that she was in over her head, after that carriage incident the staff Theorize that her gripping problem might have been from the accident but after confirming it from Mellow it turns out she was born that way.
She said that she was raised in the Peaceful Valley of Zokanwa, and the area she lived in at the time are creatures who mostly are bipedal and couldn't teach her how to use her Hooves but they did give her Basic Education she needs to succeed in life, and help her to be able to achieve her Dreams. Despite being a bipedal herself she doesn't have Claws or Paws including Fingers, she was born with hooves.
Nurse Redheart was glad that Nursery Rhyme Volunteered to be Mellow's Hoove Gripping Therapist once she's not unconscious anymore. Despite her age, Nursery Rhyme had a gentle touch and a way with words that immediately put Mellow at ease. The nurse watched as they worked together, the earth pony's encouragement and patience a soothing balm to Mellow's obvious frustration. The spider, Snookie, sat quietly in the corner, her eyes never leaving Mellow's hooves. It was clear she was invested in her friend's progress.
The tension in the room was palpable, and Nurse Redheart found herself holding her breath with every new object that Mellow attempted to grip. The foam balls were particularly challenging, but Mellow's refusal to give up was inspiring. And then, the moment came. With a triumphant cry, she successfully caught a foam ball in midair and tossed it back to Nursery Rhyme. The room erupted in cheers, and even Snookie let out a celebratory chirp.
Nurse Redheart was glad she planned out this Idea 💡 with the Staffs to invite Pinkie Pie and fill her in of the Situation including what Food and Beverages that could be safe for her to eat.
The burst of energy that Pinkie Pie brought in the Room was a nice change her smile wider than the Grand Canyon. Pinkie Pie looked around the room, her eyes lighting up when they landed on the surprise look on Mellow's face.
Nurse Redheart felt her own heart swell with joy 💓. Pinkie Pie had a way of bringing happiness wherever she went, and she knew that Mellow could use a bit of that right now. The colt's eyes went wide, and she sat up straighter, trying to hide her excitement. The spider, Snookie, scurried over to the treat-laden table, her eight eyes sparkling.
While Mellow's eyes grew even wider as Pinkie revealed a tray of colorful cookies 🍪, Nurse Redheart couldn't help but chuckle at Pinkie's boundless enthusiasm and Mellow's reaction to the new visitor, she was thrilled to see the plan had worked to lift Mellow's spirits up.
As the trio said their farewells, Pinkie Pie giving Mellow a Hug before bouncing out of the room leaving a trail of glitter in the air. Nursery Rhyme gave Mellow a warm hug, whispering encouraging words into her ear. "Keep up the good work, and I'll see you tomorrow for more therapy." she said before trotting out of the room with a wave.
Mellow felt a mix of excitement and exhaustion as Nurse Redheart gently led her back to her hospital room. The nurse could see the determination in her eyes, despite the weariness etched on her face. "You're doing amazing, Mellow," she assured the colt. "I know it's tough, but you're making incredible progress."
Once they arrived, Nurse Redheart helped Mellow climb into the bed, her hooves still a bit wobbly from the exertion of the day. The bed looked like a giant pillow mountain, but with a gentle push and a few stumbles, the young Pegasi made it to the top. Snookie, ever the loyal companion, curled up around Mellow's neck, her legs wrapped snugly for warmth and comfort.
The nurse pulled the blankets up to her chin and gave her a soft pat on the forehead. "Now, you just rest," she said in a gentle voice. "Tomorrow's another day, and you've get to see your friend Nursery Rhyme again and for another gripping challenge."
Mellow nodded, her eyelids drooping as she snuggled closer to Snookie. The spider's warmth and gentle breathing helped to lull her into a peaceful slumber.
The room grew quiet as Nurse Redheart turned off the lights, leaving only the soft glow of the moon outside the window to illuminate the space. As she left the room, she couldn't help but feel hopeful for Mellow's future recovery. With friends like Nursery Rhyme and unwavering support of Snookie, she knew the young Pegasi had the strength to overcome any obstacle thrown her way.
The hospital corridor was a stark contrast to the warmth and laughter of Mellow's room. And many other patients that came before with their own struggles. But as the nurse padded down the hallway with a final smile at the door, she closed it softly, leaving the trio to their rest. As she made her rounds for the night.
[Nursery Rhyme POV]
The moment Nurse Redheart announced that Mellow was finally awake and ready for therapy, a sense of excitement and anticipation bubbled up within Nursery Rhyme. She read and Practice on herself on how she would help Mellow with her Gripping Problem while reading on different types of Therapist and asking questions on how other Staffs have done it. She had helped and assisted Doctors and Nurses over the years with her Mentor, but this will be her first time actually helping a Patient... instead of helping a Patient in the sidelines.
Nursery Rhyme hurriedly gathered her materials, ensuring she had a variety of items for their first session. She knew that the first few moments with a new patient were crucial in setting the tone for their relationship and building trust. The thought of Mellow's struggle to adapt to hooves was both daunting and intriguing. It was a challenge she hadn't faced before, and she was eager to help the colt find her way through this challenge.
The moment she saw Mellow through the door, she knew this was going to be a challenge she would cherish. The colt lay in the hospital bed 🛏, her coat a soft shade of Tan with streaks of occasionally glint from the sunlight. Her mane and tail were a tapestry of Auburn and Maroon, and her eyes sparkled with curiosity and tiredness when she was reading a Comic Book that Snookie was holding. Despite the tubes and bandages, she looks 10 Times way healthier than the first time she got here unconscious.
Mellow looked up as Nursery Rhyme as she entered the room, and the earth pony couldn't help but be struck by the colt's gentle shy gaze with her Light-Salmon Pink Eyes, with a sense of Wonder and something she can't describe...
It was in that moment that Nursery Rhyme knew that she would do everything the best she can to help Mellow.
Nursery Rhyme approached slowly, her eyes filled with kindness and her voice soft. "Hi there, Mellow," she began, "I'm Nursery Rhyme, and I'm here to help you get used to your hooves. I know it's a lot to take in, but we're going to take it one step at a time, okay?"
Mellow nodded tentatively, her gaze drifting to the collection of toys and tools spread out before her. The foam balls 🎱, wooden blocks 🟫, and rubber rings ⭕️ all looked so simple, yet the thought of manipulating them with her hooves was overwhelming. Nursery Rhyme noticed her apprehension and gave a comforting smile. "Don't worry, we'll start with something easy," she said, picking up a small foam cube 🔲. "Just try to grip this between your hooves and lift it."
Nursery Rhyme explaining each exercise with care, demonstrating with her own hooves how to grasp and hold objects.
Mellow watched with rapt attention, her eyes never leaving the earth pony's movements. It was clear that she was determined to learn, to regain a Ability she never had.
Nursery Rhyme placed a soft foam ball in Mellow's hooves, her heart beating faster as the colt tried to hold on. It was a simple task, one that any pony could do without thought. But for Mellow, it was monumental.
Mellow took a deep breath, focusing all her energy on the task at hoof. The cube sticked for a moment before falling to the floor with a soft thud. The spider, Snookie, scurried over to inspect it, her curiosity piqued by the new objects. Nursery Rhyme knelt beside her, offering gentle guidance. "It's okay, Mellow. We all start somewhere. Let's try again, but this time, imagine your hooves as hands. I'm pretty sure you know what they looked like when you live with bipedal creatures your whole life"
The encouragement washed over Mellow, filling her with a newfound resolve. She tried again, and with a grunt of effort, she managed to lift the cube slightly. Progress, no matter how small, was still progress. The earth pony therapist cheered her on, and the sound of her voice was music to Mellow's ears.
And when she finally managed to grip the ball, the entire room seemed to brighten. Snookie, who had been watching from the corner, let out a proud chirp, her legs tapping a silent cheer. Nursery Rhyme's smile was as wide as a Cheshire Cat's. "Look at you go!" she exclaimed. "You're a natural!"
The hours that followed were a blur of activity, with Mellow pushing herself to grasp, lift, and move objects of varying sizes and textures. Her hooves grew sore, and her spirits dipped, but Nursery Rhyme's patience never wavered. With each failure, she offered words of encouragement, and with each small victory, she praised her effort.
As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the room, Nurse Redheart poked her head in. "Looks like our little party animal is tuckered out," she said with a warm smile, glancing at the exhausted colt. "Why don't you two call it a day?"
Nursery Rhyme nodded, her eyes glistening with pride. "Good work, Mellow," she said, giving the colt a gentle pat. "I'll bring some interesting for you to hold. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
Mellow managed a tired smile as she was helped back to her room. The weight of the day's progress felt like a warm blanket around her heart...
[Rarity's POV]
The sweet pattern of fabric and threads filled the air as Rarity worked tirelessly in her boutique, a haven of elegance and creativity nestled in the heart of Ponyville. She was lost in her own little world, the rhythmic clacking of her sewing machine acting as her personal soundtrack. The gentle sway of the curtains whispered tales of the town's activities outside, but she was too absorbed in her work to pay them any mind.
Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by a cacophony of sounds—a deafening crash, followed by the panicked cries of ponies and the terrified whinnies of a foal. The sound of shattering glass and splintering wood ripped through the peaceful afternoon. Rarity's sewing needle hovered in mid-stitch as she looked up from her work, her heart racing. The clatter grew louder, the tremors of it vibrating through her hooves. She set her half-finished ruffle t-shirt aside and rushed to the window 🪟 of her boutique.
Peering through the curtains, she saw a scene of chaos unfolding in the street. A carriage had tipped over, the terrified screams of its passengers piercing the air. Among the mess of splintered wood and dust, she saw a figure she recognized all too well—Mellow Glow, a young colt she had met not too long ago. His wings were a blur as he tried to lift the heavy carriage, his face contorted with effort and determination.
Her eyes widened when she noticed a tiny foal trapped beneath the rubble, the same one she had seen playing with Mellow pet Spider 3 days ago when she took a walk at the Park with Sweetie Belle. His cries for help were muffled, but Rarity could feel the panic resonating through the air. Without a second thought, she dashed out of her store, her heart pounding in her chest. As she approached, she saw the colt finally manage to free the Driver, her eyes wide with fear. Mellow's face was a picture of relief, but it was short-lived.
The carriage, now unbalanced, began to slide towards the foal. With a heroic leap, Mellow shoved the foal aside, but he was too late to save himself. The carriage crushed down on him with a sickening crunch 💀. Rarity's breath caught in her throat, and she staggered back, her hooves over her mouth in a silent scream. A figure lay still, unmoving, his body a tragic testament to his bravery.
The medical ponies were quick to respond, pushing their way through the gathering crowd. They moved with a sense of urgency that made Rarity's stomach twist into knots. She watched as they carefully extracted Mellow from the wreckage, his body limp and unnaturally still. Her mind raced with fears of what could happen to him. Her heart felt like it was in a vice, her mind racing with fear for his wellbeing. The scene was a stark contrast to the peaceful morning she had been enjoying moments ago.
The medical team worked swiftly, their professionalism a silent ballet of care and concern. As they rushed Mellow away, she turned back to her shop, her legs feeling like jelly. Snookie, Mellow's little spider friend, was frantically weaving a web 🕸 around the broken glass and wood, trying to keep any more harm at bay. Rarity's thoughts turned to the ruffle t-shirt, laying abandoned on the floor. She knew she had to do something—anything—to keep her mind off the horror she had just witnessed.
Sitting back down at her sewing machine 🧵, she picked up the fabric, her hooves trembling. As she worked, she whispered a prayer to Celestia, hoping that the stitches would somehow reach Mellow for a safe recovery. Each ruffle she added to the shirt felt like a silent promise that she would be there to surprise him when he woke up. The scent of lavender thread filled the room, a faint reminder of happier times. And maybe, just maybe, he would wear her creation and feel a semblance of comfort and happiness once she's done sewing the pieces of fabric together to bring a Smile to his face.
[Luna’s POV]
In the velvet embrace of the night, Luna's eyes snapped open, her mind racing with the vivid images from her dream. She had been exploring the vast pattern of her dreamscape, a place where she often found solace and clarity. But tonight was different. The whispers of a sad presence had echoed through the starlit paths, guiding her to a place she had never been before.
As she approached, the crystalline stars grew dimmer, as if mourning the pain of a lost soul. A soft, mournful sound reached my ears—the sound of a pony in pain 🩹. I quickened my pace, my wings carrying me through the inky blackness towards the source of the sorrowful melody.
As I approached, I could make out the figure of the colt, his usually vibrant aura now tainted with sadness. He was huddled in the center of a clearing, his body trembling with silent sobs. His once pristine coat was marred with sandy gold⏳️, the color of blood 🩸, and his eyes were clouded with fear. I had never seen him like this before. My heart ached for him, He lays amidst the ethereal darkness, his body marred with cuts and bruises that wept a sandy gold.
His eyes, usually gleaming with mischief and joy, were now pools of fear and despair. Luna's heart clenched at the sight, and I wanted nothing more than to ease his pain. for this was a creature she had come to know well in her nightly wanderings—a Pegasi Colt who always greeted her with a smile and a boundless spirit.
She had grown too accustomed of the Randomness of the Dream Space of this starlit colt, but this night was different. The dreamscape was cloaked in shadows, the stars dimmer than usual. Her heart racing at the sudden change in the unfamiliar landscape.
"What happened?" I called out, my voice echoing through the dream. He looked up, his eyes red and filled with unshed tears.
"I tried to save a somepony," he choked out, his voice barely above a whisper. "But something went wrong. I've been asleep for so long, and I'm scared I won't wake up." His words sent a shiver down my spine. This was no ordinary nightmare; this was a cry for help.
I knelt beside him, my own form solidifying in the dream world. The fog thickened, trying to push us apart, but I was determined to comfort him. I wrapped my forelegs around his trembling body, feeling the warmth of his breath against my neck. "You're safe here," I murmured, trying to soothe him. "You're just dreaming."
For a brief moment, I felt his body relax into my embrace. attempting to wrap him in a warm embrace. But the fog that clung to the edges of the dreamscape was thick and unyielding. It pushed back against her, a silent guardian that would not let her comfort the injured colt. She tried again, her magic straining to connect with him, but it was like trying to hug a ghost 👻—there one moment, gone the next.
With a final, desperate effort, she managed to hold him for a brief second, his trembling form a stark contrast to the serenity of her moonlit chambers. But the moment was fleeting, and the fog reclaimed him, swirling around them both and pulling them apart.
Then, with a violent jolt, the fog surged forward, ripping us apart. I stumbled backward, reaching out for him, but he was gone. The stars around me flickered like candles 🕯in a storm, and the dreamscape began to crumble. Panic set in as I realized the gravity of the situation—this wasn't just a simple nightmare, it was a reflection of something dire happening in the waking world.
Luna felt the cold tendrils of fear coil around her heart as she was abruptly torn from the dream and thrust back into reality, I woke up in a cold sweat, my heart pounding in my chest 💓. Her eyes blinking open to the soft glow of her moonlit room 🌕. The image of the colt's injuries burned in my mind, and I knew I couldn't ignore this.
With a flick of her wing, she sent out a mental message to her most trusted night guards. "Go to every hospital in Equestria," I instructed with urgency. "Ensure that their medical supplies and equipment are up to date. Check for any signs of neglect or disrepair. I want the buildings and rooms inspected from top to bottom. We must be ready to aid any in need, especially those with injuries as severe as the one I've seen."
The night guards nodded in understanding, their eyes reflecting the gravity of the task at hoof. They vanished into the night, a silent wave of guardians sent forth to protect the dreams and well-being of the ponies below.
As they dispersed, Luna couldn't shake the feeling Terrifying feeling of the desperation in his voice, the sandy gold 💛 of his tears—. I knew that the medical supplies she had ordered could be the key to his survival.
One by one, the guards returned with reports of their findings. Each hospital 🏥 had received her orders, and the supplies were being put to good use. New medicines and equipment were being unpacked and installed, the buildings receiving much-needed repairs. But amidst all the positive news, there was still no sign of the colt.
Their reports filled her with a mix of relief and anxiety. While her actions would surely help many ponies, the thought of him lying in pain, trapped in a nightmare, gnawed at her. Luna hoped that she brought him peace he so desperately needed.
But how could she find a single pony in a world of countless dreams? The question weighed heavy on her mind as she paced her moonlit chambers. Even though she could not find him in the waking world, perhaps she could try to reach him through the very fabric of the dreamscape again like she did last time.
With a deep breath, Luna closed her eyes and allowed the dream world to envelop her once more. This time, she would not be passive. This time, she would search every corner of the night, every whisper of a nightmare, until she found the colt.
The dreamscape shifted and morphed around her, the stars ⭐️ and the moon 🌙 her only companions. I focused her thoughts, sending out a silent call to the lost soul she had encountered earlier. "I'm coming," she whispered into the void. "I'll find you, no matter where you are."
...It has been 2 weeks of nonstop searching and occasionally encounters of her subjects to help get rid of their Nightterror, The darkness parted, revealing a path she hadn't seen before. It was faint, but it was there—a trail of sandy gold ⏳️, leading her through the shadows. With determination, Luna took flight, following the trail with a sense of urgency that grew with every beat of her wings.
The path grew steeper, the stars dimmer, and the whispers grew louder. They spoke of pain and fear, of a world that didn't understand. Luna knew she was getting closer, and she pushed herself faster, the wind of the dreams whipping through her mane.
Finally, she saw it—a pinprick of light, flickering like a candle in the dark. It grew larger as she approached, revealing a unknown hospital room bathed in the soft glow of healing magic. And there, laying on the bed, was the colt from her dream.
His eyes were closed, his chest rising and falling with shallow breaths. The bandages 🩹 on his legs were stained with the sandy gold of his tears, and his aura was a chaotic swirl of emotions. Luna knew that she had found him, and that she had arrived just in time.
Without a moment's hesitation, she approached the bedside, her horn glowing with the power of the moon. "My Dear Friend," she whispered, her voice a gentle lullaby in the stillness. "I'm here to help you wake up."
The colt's eyes fluttered open, and for a brief moment, she saw the recognition in his gaze. But just as quickly, the fog of the dream world closed in, and tried to separate them once again. Luna knew that she had to act fast—The thick fog was vicious, and he was fading with it.
With a flick of her horn, she cast a powerful dispel, banishing the shadows and the fog that threatened to consume him. The room grew brighter, the magic in the air thickening with her will. His teary eyes 💧 searched for her, and she felt a spark of hope ignite within her chest.
The spell she had chosen was a risky one, a blend of moon magic 🌗 and her own will to cut through the nightmare's hold for a short time. It was a delicate balance— but if she put too much, she could accidentally harm him further; too little, and it would take unknown days and weeks to find him again, just to wake him up.
As the incantation grew stronger, the colt's body began to stir, the bruises slowly fading away. The gold in his aura grew brighter, pushing back the thick fog that clung to him. His legs, once a unending stream of Cuts and Bruises closed up the Stream of Sandy Gold, while his tears seeping into the bed below.
With the last word of the spell, a burst of light filled the Dream Space, and the colt sat up with a gasp, his eyes wide with shock. He looked down at his body, the bruises and cuts now nothing more than faint memories. "Luna?" he whispered, his voice hoarse from disuse.
The room grew silent as the two of them stared at each other, the bond between them palpable. It was a moment of pure emotion, And then, with a sudden jolt, the Room stated to collapsed. Panic shot through Luna's veins like ice.
"NO!," she cried, her voice echoing in the small room. "I WILL HELP YOU WAKE UP!" The dreamscape was already unraveling around them while the thick frog try to separate them again, she Quickly grabbed the Colt's Body and hold on to him for dear life trying to push him out the Glowing Golden Door 🚪 from the awakening reality.
"Are we go-gonna make it?" He asked fearfully as the threads of the Wild thick fog threatening to pull them apart once more.
"WE WILL MAKE IT!" Luna said desperately, her eyes never leaving his. She pushed with all her might, the two of them hurtling through the doorway just as the world around them began to shatter like a shattered mirror. 🪞
The next thing I knew, I was standing in my room, panting heavily. The colt was gone, but the sense of accomplishment remained. I had done it. I had reached into the depths of the dream world and pulled him back to the waking one. I looked around my room, the moonlit shadows dancing on the walls as if celebrating with me.
Moments later, I heard a soft knock on the door. "Luna dear, are you okay?" A concerned voice called out. It was Celestia. She had probably felt the ripples of the powerful magic I had used. I took a deep breath and opened the door, a smile playing on my lips.
"I've found him," I said, my voice filled with relief. "The colt from my Dreams."
Her eyes widened, and she stepped inside. "Is he alright?" She asked, her tone mirroring my concern. "Yes," I replied, my smile growing. "He's in the hospital, but he's going to be fine."
[The Office Hospital Room]
Another day working at the Hospital doing our usual work routine, Nursery Rhyme was checking on the Polysomnography Monitor today Intel she heard a Beep sound at room 13... Mellow's Room. He's Finally awake ⏰️
She squealed with excitement, her heart fluttering in her chest like a butterfly 🦋. She had grown attached to the little Pegasi hybrid over the last few weeks, watching over him like a guardian angel including the other sraff as well. She quickly trotted out of the room, her hooves barely touching the floor, and called out to the nearest doctor. "Doctor! He's finally awake!" she yelled, her voice echoing through the corridor.
The doctor, a wise old Donkey with a mane of chocolate Swirls, looked up from his charts with a confuse look. "What's that, Nursery?" he asked, his eyes blinking in surprise. "The Mysterious Patient? The hybrid? Really?"
"Yes, doctor, really!" Nursery Rhyme beamed, her cheeks pink with excitement. "It was my turn to observe the Polysomnography Monitor today and I noticed a Beeping sound and a Green Light 💚 in Room 13!"
The doctor's expression grew serious, and he nodded gravely. "Call every creature immediately," he instructed, already making his way towards the room. "This is a significant development."
The news spread through the hospital like wildfire, and soon enough, the office room was filled with a bustle of activity. Doctors and nurses, all eager to hear the news of the mysterious colt, They whispered to each other, sharing theories about his origins and prognosis. After discussing for a while they agreed that Nurse Redheart should take him as her patient with Nursery Rhyme, not wanting to overwhelm him.
The head doctor, a stern looking earth pony with a white mane, strode into the Polysomnography room, his eyes immediately going to the monitors. To check on the vitals screens, his expression unreadable. "He's stable," he said finally, hid voice calm and authoritative. "While Nurse Redheart check on him and gather information, we need to prepare quickly. This is uncharted territory for us, and we must ensure his continued recovery."
The silver-feathered Griffon nodded in agreement. "Let's get to work," he said, his voice filled with determination. "We'll run a full battery 🔋 of tests to understand the extent of his recovery of his past injuries and his unique physiology."
The medical team sprang into action, each member of the staff eager to play their part in this medical mystery. But Nurse Redheart made sure to inform them what she found out and they should exam her later, and telling them that the Colt is Trans so we should call her a She now.
After waiting for a few days Mellow is Comfortable enough to get examed by the Staff.
They took another blood samples 🩸, measured Mellow's wings 🪽, and checked his reflexes, all the while discussing their findings in hushed tones. Mellow lay there, watching them with a mix of fascination and patience while a curious glint in her eyes finding this situation amusing on how they examinated her.
And through it all, Snookie remained a constant presence, her legs tingling with anxiety as she observed the strange creatures poking and prodding her friend. She knew that they were trying to help, but it was hard not to feel a sense of unease. While Mellow was completely calm about the whole ideal as the doctors and nurses worked.
Mellow looked around, her eyes finally landing on Snookie. She climbed up her arm, wrapping her legs wrapping around Mellow to reassuring hug. Mellow started to get sleepy again but this time she won't be in a Coma. The Staff notice immediately and put a large avocado themed pillow 🥑 behind her to take a Nap while they worked...
