After Spike and Shadow ended up in that strange white void thanks to the cause of that monster, the two of them decided to head back to what seemed to be a portal to the Space Colony Ark again, there was something there that they hadn't fully finished with yet, and until they figure out how to stop this monster, or that thing they saw in the sky, they need to gather what info they can before moving on.

Spike still had to get used to the face he's literally in a different point in time where he is, wherever his mother is, it could be either within this same void they're in, or somewhere far away they can't reach yet, wherever she is, Spike just hopes she can hold out until this business is finished.

But he didn't have long to think over things, because soon enough, he and Shadow emerged through a portal that took them through time and space, and they both ended up back on the Ark after heading to it, it looked almost unaffected by either what that monster did, or even what Black Doom did with his strange powers, it was the same highly advanced space station as they saw it before.

Spike and Shadow looked around the place to see what else is off, other then a few more robots then there usually are, there isn't anything particularly off here, but they have a feeling they won't have to wait long to see it.
"Something's not right here, there should be at least something affected from that monster we encountered." Shadow said with a suspicious look as they looked through a window to see multiple parts of the colony.

"This place is huge, there's no way nothing here could've been affected by what Black Doom or that monster did, this isn't right at all." Spike said in agreement with what they're seeing.

"There's got to have been something altered here, come on, let's see what could've changed!" Shadow said sternly before he started to skate down to the open hall ahead of them, and Spike didn't waste another second to follow behind.

"Let's just hope there's something here that could help us find out what's going on." Spike prayed as they started running as fast as they could to search through the place again.

Spike and Shadow soon began speeding up again to try and find anything off fast, they both had suspicions something was wrong here, and they weren't gonna any time to find it. Spike's been getting a lot faster over the time he's spent in this world, both due to him adapting to his new powers, and races he often did to test his speed, he's almost as fast as either Sonic or Shadow, he's pretty sure he's even faster then Rainbow Dash by now, and that's saying quite a lot, but he's felt really proud of himself because of that.

But Spike barely had much time to think to himself right now, as he and Shadow leaped off the ledge that lead them down a path through the Ark, they began speeding up even more to keep up the pace, they could see multiple robots and enemy's ahead of them, and they got ready to destroy each one of them.
"How come there are still Eggman robot's here?! Hasn't it been years since you or anyone else was here?" Spike shouted before he ran forward and rolled out of the way of some gunfire, he drew his sword again and deflected each blast to give Shadow cover, and he jumped behind Spike and delivered a drop kick on one of the flying drones, followed by multiple teleportation moves to warp him to the ones surrounding them.

"No one's been here since the Black Arms invaded from what I remember, they must be left over security Eggman had when he had no choice but to fight back to." Shadow theorized before they began boosting forward ahead, they could feel the ground moving and turning upside down around them, and all the while they could see and barely dodge more missiles flying at them from the cannon's around the place.

They both avoided them after boosting fast enough and jumping off a spring and got onto a handle pulling them upwards through another tight path, they could see the view of the Earth from here, and no matter where they go, it's always a great view to see even from this perspective.
"You know considering what I know about this place currently, I keep wondering why Sonic didn't tell me about it during our free time, because it would've been real helpful to know what lies here!" Spike shouted before he ran forward even more and did a homing attack on a chain of drones that gave him access to a higher route, and Shadow used his teleportation to jump off the rubble to keep up with him.

"You seem to adjust to what comes to us quickly, it shouldn't be an issue for us when something comes in our way!" Shadow shouted just as he used Chaos Spear again which hit a trigger that opened a few doors that helped them run through the corridors of the colony.

"Guess your right about that, but I still have a lot of catching up to do for sure. how many times have you guys had to save the world from Eggman or some other huge threat? I've only done it once so far?" Spike asked since The End was the real threat he had to face during the Starfall Islands, and he's sure that they won't be seeing that thing again, even with this whole time travel thing happening.

"Even I've lost count on how many times that's happened, heard Sonic once went through these books of famous fictional story's at some point, but honestly that story sounds ridiculous even for me. Whatever he's been through is likely something even I will need a reminder of if it comes back to us" Shadow replied while they jumped over some speed ramps and rolled down on the ground to keep moving.

They got surrounded by more enemy's and stood back to back, Shadow growled with anger and shot a Chaos Spear at the largest one, followed by Spike using his Flameloop ability and running around in a circle, once he reached the end of the line, the fire burst around the surrounding enemy's like he's done before, he's had a lot of time adjusting to his powers, and it doesn't hurt to have some changes to them from time to time.

"Wonder how many they got left over here?" Spike asked with a small smirk as they saw one more squad of robots aiming they're guns at them, and Shadow soon pulled out his Chaos Emerald and got ready again.

"Let's find out.." Shadow said just as he used Chaos Control again which stopped time just as they fired on them, Spike quickly charged through and sliced through the bullets with his sword before he jumped towards one drone and delivered a hard kick to it which sent it flying into the squad.

And just as the thing exploded, Spike and Shadow boosted through it again and began heading deeper into the Ark, they began coming upon strange anti gravity spinner's or sorts, and with the right timing, they soon jumped on and ran across them before jumping off of them and homing attacking across multiple floating rocks which were just around the place, and they used them to get high enough to another rail, and they quickly grinded across it before jumping off it one last time to the next area.

Boosting at this speed was exhilarating to Spike, going at such fast speeds and through places that go by in a flash, it's an amazing feeling he's still getting used to, even with all the laps he took around Station Square or other places he's been too in this world, it never will stop being exciting to him.

Spike and Shadow made they're way through the inner parts of the colony again, Shadow helped them get through by using Chaos Spear on switches which opened the doors blocking they're path, it was a bit easier getting through here then on the outside, but the place still had very high security, and they weren't letting they're guards down for a second.

"I think we're almost out of here Shadow, I can see a way out just over there!" Spike shouted as they saw some springs leading them towards a hall that could take them to wherever the source of the problem is.

"Let's get moving!" Shadow shouted again as they boosted even faster then before, and soon jumped off the springs that helped lead them to the halls in front of them, and they could see the way out just ahead.

But as they were pushing through it, something strange began to happen, strange black clouds began to fly around them after appearing out of nowhere, and they began surrounding the two of them while they were in shock.
"W.. what are these things?!" Spike asked with shock as they flew around them.

"Watch out!" Shadow screamed just before the clouds flew into the both of them, Spike suddenly felt a huge surge of power go through him, it was almost like how he felt when the Cyber corruption gave him strength, but at the risk of him being corrupted, even if he pushed through it, he still felt great pain from it, and this was very similar

He and Shadow screamed as they felt a strange power flow through them, almost like something from the Black Arms themselves, Spike and Shadow began falling out of the hall, almost going down into the abyss of space before something emerged from them.

Dark red and black wings began emerging from both they're backs, while Shadow only got a single pair that looked deadly , Spike grew a second pair of wings that were larger and went just above his main ones, they were large, looked almost organic in ways. It wasn't like anything they've felt before, it felt so unnatural to Spike, like it wasn't something he should ever use, and yet it gave him so much strength..

The wings fully emerged from they're backs as they screamed with pain and anger as they fully emerged, with the newly grown wings on they're back, they were able to swiftly fly up to and land safely back on the ark, they both had looks of surprise and shock as they felt the strange power flow through them.

"What.. is this?" Spike asked with surprise while they looked around the place, they felt they're wings lifting them up into the air again as they saw one last obstacle course ahead of them, and they just felt an urge to unleash this power, Spike and Shadow felt it surge through them before they screamed with anger even more as lightning flowed around them for a brief moment.

They both combined they're strength together and used they're power to fly through and destroy anything that was flying at them, whatever drone or robot came in they're way, or meteor, anything that was in they're path, they boosted through it with they're power and destroyed it all in an instant.

These new pairs of wings gave Spike way more time to react and move faster when in the air, while he was already skilled with avoiding objects while flying, this took things to the next level. Even if he didn't like the power he's feeling, it gave him such strength he's never felt before.

Spike and Shadow continued to scream as they stayed close together and destroyed anything left that was heading too them, eventually blowing up and destroying whatever robot that tried to destroy them, the two of them soon landed on a platform pretty high up that gave them a view of the place again, and they used that moment to take in some time to rest after what they felt.

"What.. was that? This power.." Shadow asked with surprise as the wings gave them a strength that made them extremely durable, and Spike felt his claws shaking from how much he was feeling, he didn't know if it was of shock, anger, fear, or something else.

"I don't know what it is.. but I don't like it, the last time I felt power like this it almost corrupted me and Sonic, I was able to push through it mostly, but Sonic almost lost himself completely, if this is anything similar to that, then we need to be careful with this." Spike said in a warning tone while they felt things calm down.

"Even if they're similar.. they could still be useful to us.. but I will agree, we need to be careful with this." Shadow said seriously while they looked around the Ark, seeing things have slowed down again.

The wings on they're backs soon disappeared and they felt most of they're strength return to normal, while they could still feel the power in them, they at least felt better not feeling it overwhelm them like what happened moments ago.

The two soon sighed with relief and looked at eachother again, they had the same idea that there may not be much left here for them right now, so it's best they leave for now.
"We'd best head back to that white void we were in before, there was another place I saw not too far from where the colony is, it could give us more answers." Shadow said just as a portal opened up for them leading back to the white void, while it was convenient for it to appear right here and now, they weren't gonna just pass up on the opportunity.

"Lead the way." Spike insisted with a smile before Shadow nodded and began running to the portal, Spike soon began running behind too as they jumped through the portal, and it soon closed leaving the Ark almost like it always was before, whatever this power was, despite it being useful, they didn't like the feeling of it one bit, and they hoped they'll find out what's going on soon.

Thanks for reading this guys, sorry it took a bit to update this but I've been busy with other story's I've been prioritizing more then this, even if this was a bit shorter then the other chapters since it's only on act 2 of the Ark, but I'll make sure the other's are focused on the full acts soon, but please understand that there are things I need to do other then write, and don't wanna burn myself out with writing so many stories at once, I may be slow with this story, but I'll do my best with it when I work on it.

I'll give some more explanation to why Spike can use the Doom powers like Shadow can within the game, I have ideas on making it work, I'm thinking of calling them Devil powers to make them stand out a bit for Spike, so I hope this idea doesn't seem too obscure to you guys.

I recently finished up Sonic X Shadow Generations recently too during my free time, and I gotta say it was a huge blast to play! One of the best Sonic games I've ever played, and I highly recommend it. I have ideas for this story which could set stuff up in the future if done right, so I hope you look forward to that. I'll get into Rail Canyon within the next chapter before jumping to Angel's side to help the story flow nicely, other then that, hope you liked this and look forward to more!
