Spike didn't know how long it exactly took for him and Shadow to finally reach the Space Colony Ark up in space, he took a bit of a nap to wait out the time that it took there while Shadow was left to think to himself. They both needed a little quiet time after all the trouble they just went through just to get this shuttle, while they're glad they finally making it to the ark, they still just needed time to think.

Spike was still trying to figure out why he was sent 2 years or so into the past by that monster, he's really worried for where his mother ended up, because if it can control time, it could've sent her anywhere at any point in time, and he just dreads if she ended up somewhere she hates, but if that proved one thing, it only gave him more motivation to find out what that monster is, and how to get her back.

Spike was still trying to get used to the fact he's in the past, and that he has to team up with Shadow in order to find out what's going on, he's heard of him before thanks to Sonic, he's been told a few story's about some of the biggest adventures Sonic's been on, like when Eggman split the Earth into pieces, and Sonic needed to restore the Chaos Emeralds to prevent a dark being called Dark Gaia from destroying it while also being.. a Werehog.. which Spike found to be a weird thing that apparently exists, there was a lot Spike's missed out on, and he only hopes he'll be able to catch up on what he's missed soon, at least so he can understand certain thing's he doesn't know fully yet.

But soon enough, after Spike finally woke up from his nap while thinking over all of this, he saw he and Shadow had finally arrived at the Ark, and were just entering the space station now.
"You done having your nap Spike?" Shadow asked with a bit of an annoyed tone while Spike yawned a bit and looked out the window and saw the Earth from this view which amazed him.

"Sorry, but I needed to rest since we were taking quite the journey here, did anything happen while I was out?" Spike asked as the shuttle stopped near a station where they could get out.

"No, i just kept the thing moving at a steady pace, at least we're finally here." Shadow said as they unbuckled themselves and opened the doors, and they soon stepped out into the station to see it in full, and it amazed Spike with what he was seeing.

It was one of the most advanced places he's seen in his life, on account on it being a literal space station, with tons of highly advanced machinery and weapons around the Ark that were used for defense or for security, this place was one of the biggest thing's he's ever seen, and as he looked out the window next to them while they were walking through the halls, he could see both the Earth, Sun, and the broken Moon at the same time from this view, and it was a sight to behold to say the least.

"Wow... this.. is the Space Colony Ark?" Spike asked as he followed Shadow through the halls who didn't look that impressed with it.

"Yes, this place was shut down by G.U.N over 50 years ago when I was made here, I was created by professor Gerald Robotnik to be the Ultimate Life Form, but even with the time I spent here, there were always parts of me that felt unsure of myself.." Shadow said as they walked alongside eachother.

While most of the stuff around here was still working, there were plenty of areas and rooms around the massive space station that were abandoned long ago, and hasn't worked in years, and most likely wouldn't work ever again, knowing Spike's in a place that held such an important history, it really made him all the more glad he's even here.

"Sorry to hear that Shadow, can't imagine what that was like.. But for me.. I'm still trying to get used to all of this, I've only been friends with Sonic for a few months at this point, and with the time I've had here, I've mainly been trying to reconnect with my mother.." Spike replied which made Shadow interested in wanting to know more about him.

"What exactly is your story? How did you meet Sonic? Where are you even from?" Shadow asked while they walked down the empty halls, not knowing there's a strange power coming from somewhere in the station.

"I'm from a different world called Equestria, full of mythical creatures like Unicorns, Alicorns, Dragons, Griffons, Changelings and other magical creatures that you wouldn't see in this world. I was out on a walk to think to myself after I helped a friend of mine named Thorax reform and become king of the Changelings, overthrowing the previous Queen who was evil and had tried taking over my home. I stumbled upon a strange cave that was highly advanced far into the forest, I fell into a place where I may not have escaped, but after using a strange gear, I was sucked into an ancient device that teleported me to this world, where I met Sonic, helped him save his friends, and went on a life changing adventure for me." Spike explained which really fascinated Shadow with what he's heard.

"Fascinating.. what was this device exactly that you found? What did it do?" Shadow asked while they looked out the window again to think over all of this.

"It was a device that teleported me to a digital dimension called Cyberspace, it recreated places and familiar locations from both my own past, and Sonic's past, it was a place that was unlike anything I'd seen up to that point, but out of pure luck, I was able to escape it, and I met up with Sonic on some really far away islands that have quite the history, and.. that adventure is where I finally met my mother, she was trapped in that dimension for over 10,000 years, there's a lot more complicated stuff that happened during that adventure, but just know that what happened there, was what really changed my life forever.." Spike said as he looked at his body, he had almost forgotten that he was such a small little dragon when he first arrived on the Starfall Islands, but now, he's taller then Ember, and stronger then any dragon in Equestria probably.

"That's quite the story.. you wouldn't mind telling more about it at another time would you?" Shadow asked while they looked at eachother again.

"Once we get to know eachother a bit better, we did just meet a bit ago after all, besides, there's some stuff I don't wanna give away right now, less I risk altering the future, the only thing you need to know is that it was an important adventure for me, and really changed me.. it was the first time I ever met my mother in my life.. and I need to find out what happened to her.. she's been through a lot.." Spike said with worry for her which really showed Shadow how honest he's being, while he found it a bit hard to believe at first, with how genuine he's describing this, it really could be true.

"Don't worry Spike, we'll find out what happened to her, once we find and destroy the threat that's on this place, we'll see where we can find her, if that monster you mentioned did this, then we'll need to find it next." Shadow said as he clutched his fists which gave Spike determination with what's at stake.

"Thanks, come on, let's see where the problem is." Spike said as they started moving around the station in order to find out where it is.

Spike and Shadow spent quite a bit searching around the colony to find out where the energy source they detected was coming from, they didn't really speak to eachother that much after that little talk, but it gave them time to think over things some more now that they're here. Spike still couldn't believe he was actually in space, he always wondered what it would be like from being able to see the view of his home from so far above, and now that he's here, it really is a sight to behold, and he just wished his friends were here to see this.

Spike and Shadow continued moving around the ark to find anything that could be a problem, but so far they haven't yet, they've spent almost an hour here up to this point, and haven't found anything, but they aren't gonna leave until they find it, no matter what. And as this was happening, it made Shadow reflect on his time here, and what it was first like for him when he was created.

We open back to a flashback that happened 50 years ago, we see an advanced looking science lab with a container straight within the center, there was highly advanced tech all around the room, and we soon see two familiar figures come into the room, the little girl known as Maria excitedly walked up to the container and was really looking forward to meeting him. Professor Gerald went up to a computer and started typing in some codes that would finally awaken him, as he felt that he was ready to finally meet them.
"Can we wake him up now? Can I meet him?" Maria asked hopefully as Gerald looked over Shadow's descriptions on the computer, and felt confident he was.

"Yes i believe so, it is time to awaken the Ultimate Lifeform." Gerald said as the container starts to open, and they see Shadow finally awaken for the first time.

"Welcome to the world, Shadow The Hedgehog." Gerald said as Shadow opened his eyes for the first time, and we soon cut back to the present time where he and Spike had just entered this familiar room, and Shadow wasn't saying a thing upon recognizing it.

Spike went up to the old computer's around the place, while he tried getting them to work to see if there's anything he could find, the power wouldn't turn on, and there was tons of dust all over the place
"This place hasn't been used in years.. nothing in here works.." Spike said with a sigh while he and Shadow looked at the container in front of them.

"We wouldn't even find that much in here anyway, let's just keep moving." Shadow said dismissively while they were leaving the room, but that was until the Earpieces they recently got started going off, and they heard someone speak from the other side of it.

"Shadow, Spike, this is Rouge, do you two copy?" Rouge asked from the Earpiece which they heard clearly.

"We here you Rouge." Spike replied while he kept looking around the place.

"We copy Rouge." Shadow replied sternly while they looked over the view of the Earth again since it's the only interesting thing they can see right now.

"Are you two.. still aboard the Ark?" Rouge questioned as we see a shot of the enormous space colony they're currently on right now.

"Yes, Spike and I arrived on the Ark an hour ago." Shadow replied while Spike tried seeing where the problem is.

"We still haven't found any signs of a possible threat yet, but we're not stopping until we find anything." Spike replied while wanting to keep moving on.

"Well your both missing Sonic's birthday party, I hope you two plan on being here." Rouge said as she was at the party right now where Sonic's other friends were having a fun time together.

"Rouge, Sonic and none of his friends even know me yet, even if you were to say I'm a new friend to you or something like that, I'd just be a stranger to them since they don't know me." Spike said as he doesn't wanna cause any concern.

"Spike's right on that, we still need to find that unusual bio-signature G.U.N detected here, we were lucky enough they gave us some support during our trip here." Shadow said as they felt ready to move on.

"Are you sure? I have my ways of convincing them you know? I'm sure they wouldn't mind Shadow having a new friend with him." Rouge said in a teasing tone which made Spike role his eyes.

"Sorry Rouge, but this party is one that I have to miss, I still need to find out where my mother is." Spike said while he was shaking his head.

"There's free food." Rouge replied one last time before Spike and Shadow just cut her off and sighed hearing that.

"Is she always like this?" Spike asked while Shadow looked a bit annoyed still.

"You get used to it." Shadow replied bluntly while they turned around again.

But to their luck, they saw something strange happening in the hallways just ahead of them, a strange red and black energy was starting to warp the halls around in a strange way, like it was warping the place to be something else entirely, and Spike and Shadow knew this is the problem.
"There!" Shadow said seriously while they ran towards the halls and saw it kept going across the colony, and they both didn't waste another second.

"Let's go!" Spike shouted as they started to run as fast as they could down the halls, and the thing soon lead them to a hatch that lead them outside of the colony, they both jumped off of it and started to fall out of it for a bit, but then they soon landed on a grind rail that gave them a large view of the Ark behind them.

Shadow and Spike kept they're balance as the source was somewhere nearby, and they began going as fast as they could to find where it is.
"Finally! I've got you now! We aren't letting you get away!" Shadow said with anger as they used they're powers to grind across the rails even faster while they saw the view of the Earth below them.

"Looks like you were right about something bad being here Shadow! I haven't felt a power like this before!" Spike shouted as Shadow teleported near some old robots that were still active and destroyed each of them with a single kick before they kept on moving across some Dash Panel's.

"No time for talk now Spike, let's just keep moving!" Shadow shouted as he boosted ahead of him which made Spike follow behind to keep up with him.

Shadow and Spike started running across some platforms that were all across the ark, they soon jumped off some springs that lead them to a higher ledge, and Spike homed in on a rail that he grinded across before jumping over some floating rocks that lead him up a slope while Shadow just teleported to the top of it.

They both grinded on another rail again that was right near them, going through some floating rings around the rails for style, and they soon jumped high into the air and saw more robots being deployed to halt they're progress.
"Whatever's trying to stop us, it needs to try harder then this!" Spike shouted as he summoned some flame spears in his hands again before he threw them towards the robots and took them all out in one single hit each.

"Not bad!" Shadow replied with an impressed look as they landed down and boosted across the pathway even more, they soon landed on a wall that had strange gravity affects, but it allowed them to boost across it before they slid down to another path and kept on moving.

They jumped across a rail that lead them to a strange tube that had rails on top of it while also being inside, but they didn't wanna waste time and homed in on the rails on the top of it, they soon jumped off of them and flew through some floating rings which gave them a boost in the air before they landed on a higher ledge, and they ran as fast as they could while they saw multiple weapons being shot at them.
"Watch out!" Spike shouted as he slid under one and soon flipped over another, and Shadow skillfully ran across the walls and jumped all over the obstacle while Spike boosted through it and caught up with Shadow just in time.

They kept running through more weapons that kept being fired at them, Spike used his sword and slashed through each one that nearly hit them, and Shadow soon went in front of him and held out the Chaos Emerald he had and charged up his power as they came upon an obstacle that was a bit hard to get through.
"Chaos.. Control!!" Shadow screamed which made the emerald use it's power to freeze time for just a few seconds, but that gave Spike and Shadow enough time to slip through some sharp spinners that were blocking they're path, and they quickly grabbed onto a handle which lead them higher up just as time unfroze.

"You can use that move too? I saw my mom use that even without the Chaos Emerald!" Spike asked with shock which surprised Shadow.

"Your mother can use Chaos Control without an Emerald? How?" Shadow asked as he teleported onto more robot's heads and jumped off of them harshly which sent them flying to Spike, and Spike roared as he used his claws and tore them apart to pieces before he rushed through the dash panels below him to keep up with him.

"Even I don't know it fully yet! If she knows Chaos Control, she has to know other powerful moves like that right?" Spike asked while they ducked they're heads and slid across mores sharp blades that almost hit them, but then they jumped off a ledge and went onto another rail that was taking them even higher that would help them get back into the colony.

"It's possible, wherever she is now, if she has that power, she isn't gonna go down easy!" Shadow said with anger again as they ran upwards through another slope, and as they jumped off more springs that sent them through a few more rings in a spectacle way, they started to move through a hall full of red lights that had the alarms going off from detecting they're presence.

This made a very large looking cannon lower at the end of the hall, and it soon shot a large missile at the two of them to halt they're progress, but Shadow didn't waste another second to destroy it.
"Chaos Control!" Shadow shouted again which froze time around them again, but in turn that halted the missile from moving any closer to them which gave them a moment to destroy it.

"Let me try this!" Spike shouted as he boosted in front of Shadow and jumped straight towards the thing, Spike screamed as he delivered a powerful punch to it which completely broke the armor that was across it, and Shadow jumped across the debris and he made a loud battle cry as he delivered a powerful kick to the front of it, and that sent it flying back to the weapon that shot it out in the first place, and it soon exploded as time resumed again which made the cannon fall away which gave them an open path to keep moving.

"Yes!" Spike said with victory as he and Shadow jumped off the springs and started being bounced over the place until they finally started heading into the place, they started to fall through a hall full of lasers that could hurt them if touched, but they barely had any trouble with it, and they soon landed down on the floor where the door leading through the place was opening for them.

Spike and Shadow kept on running through the colony in order to find where the source is, they kept taking on any enemy that came in they're way, they even had to take down some creatures that looked like the Ancients to Spike, but they were just another obstacle trying to stop them which didn't slow them down a bit.

They kept moving across every room they kept running through, each one showing off just how advanced this place was, it was one of the most interesting places Spike has been too yet, especially after what he saw in Cyberspace, but he barely had time to think, and followed Shadow as fast as they could to find the source.

But as they jumped into a long hall that stretched out for quite a bit, the same strange red energy they saw before started to appear again, and they soon heard a sinister laugh coming from all around them.
"What?" Spike asked with surprise just as a strange floating black and red eye appeared in front of them, and Shadow instantly recognized who he was.

"You!" Shadow said with anger as the strange creature unleashed a strange power around the entire hall, and they could only hear him laugh as the halls and what looked like reality itself warp around them in a way they've never seen before. Spike and Shadow screamed a bit as the ground they were on warped away, and they found themselves falling through strange dimension that felt so unreal.

Spike and Shadow did they're best to keep they're balance as they went falling through a strange looking city with a red sky, buildings were warping around them like a gyroscope, and it made things a bit nauseating the longer Spike saw it.

"What is this place?" Spike asked with shock while he and Shadow landed on what looked like a road with red railings, and they tried boosting they're way across the strange dimension they're in.

"This looks like.. Radical Highway, how did Black Doom do this?" Shadow asked with surprise with what they're seeing around them.

"Wait, is that who was in front of us just now?!" Spike shouted as they saw the strange creature float to them again while he continued to laugh at them, and they both felt anger towards the creature and followed it as it kept flying away.

"We meet again, Shadow the Hedgehog! And I see you brought a friend with you this time!" Black Doom greeted with a sinister tone which let Spike know this is a serious problem right now.

Shadow and Spike kept moving through the strange reality which was unlike anything they've seen before, they used the strange reality to they're advantage as the road they were running across twisted upside down which made them bounce off some springs again, and they jumped onto another road before running over more dash panels that lead them higher upwards.

Spike and Shadow could see the floating eye still flying ahead in front of them, and they had an idea on how to get out of this strange reality.
"My latest creation..." Black Doom said with malice as Spike and Shadow jumped across some robots which destroyed them in the process, and they were surprised to know he somehow is doing this.

"This is your doing?! How?!" Shadow asked with anger as Spike made a battle cry while charging ahead of him, as a hoard of G.U.N robots and machine's appeared in front of them, Spike charged up his fire and shot a large blast from his mouth which destroyed them all in an instant, and they boosted around more streets and buildings that were being twisted by this strange power.

"Your power is impressive dragon! Let's see how long it'll help you survive here!" Black Doom shouted as the eye kept floating away while Spike growled hearing that, the two of them stayed close as reality kept warping around them in a strange way, and as they jumped off a spring, it sent them flying through another one of those strange buildings that kept warping around all over which made thing's a bit hard to keep a focus on.

But the two of them started to fall down towards a twisted building that had it's windows and tiles being twisted by the strange power, but Spike and Shadow landed on it and slid down it the best they could to avoid being hit by it as Black Doom flew above them again.
"The Promised Time will arrive once more!!" Black Doom screamed again as Spike jumped over some slopes and flew through more rings which helped them get down the building faster.

"The Promised Time?" Spike asked with concern as he looked at Shadow who was too focused on the floating eye right now.

"No time for talking Spike! We need to destroy him now!" Shadow shouted as he shot more spears towards him, but Black Doom only laughed at this and avoided each of them while he flew downwards to an open spot that looked to be the end of it for now.

"You cannot deny.. your fate Shadow!" Black Doom screamed as he formed a shield around him while more robots appeared in front of him, and Spike and Shadow didn't waste another second to deliver powerful attacks to the robots which sent them flying to the shield, each one making it weaker and weaker until the last one finally broke it free.

"Try to avoid this!" Spike screamed as he and Shadow both lunged at the eye and delivered a powerful kick to it at the same time, this made Black Doom scream with pain and anger as the eye dropped a strange gear on the ground, and Shadow picked it up instantly and looked up at Black Doom while Spike kept his guard up.

"We shall meet again you two!" Black Doom screamed before he opened a portal and suddenly teleported away.

"Where did he go?!" Spike asked with surprise just before he screamed a bit again as reality started to shift around them again, and Spike and Shadow started to fall back into what looked like the Ark again as the tiles of the walls and floors finally formed to normal again which gave Spike some relief knowing they made it out of there.

"So what we were tracking.. was him! We can't let him get away again!" Shadow shouted as they landed on the ground and boosted to the end of the halls which lead them to an open area that gave them room to breath.

Spike took a few heavy breaths after they went through that really surprising encounter, Spike had never seen reality warp around that much before, even in Cyberspace, whatever power Black Doom has now, it is not good at all.
"So that person we just encountered, you know him Shadow?" Spike asked as they took a few moments to come up with a plan to stop him.

"I know him all too well Spike, I told you about the Black Arms before we came here, if they've really returned, we can't afford to let them get the power to invade Earth again!" Shadow said with a serious look which Spike understood after he finally caught his breath again.

"How are we gonna find out where he is?" Spike asked while they looked around the room for anything to help.

This made Shadow hum a bit before he saw what looked like the Chaos Emerald he had in front of them, it was the same yellow color as his own, and Shadow was very interested as he knew what it was.
"The fake Chaos Emerald Tails made to thwart the Doctor's plans, even I have a hard time distinguishing between the two of them." Shadow said as he picked the fake one up, and it could be useful for later.

"You think it'll help us stop Black Doom at least?" Spike asked while he put the emeralds away for now.

"It's possible, but we can't waste any time here, we need to find out where he's hiding on this ark." Shadow said as they were about to leave the room.

But just before they did, a bright purple light flashed outside of the room in the void of space which got they're attention, and Spike gasped with shock as they saw the same monster from before emerge through another portal, and Spike growled with anger seeing it's here.
"That's the same monster me and my mom encountered! Shadow, get ready!" Spike said as he was about to draw his sword again.

But the monster started charging up more power again like it did before, and it roared with fury as it unleashed another strange portal that was as large as the entire ark, and the light was so bright it blinded Spike and Shadow, and they suddenly saw a vision of what looked like Sonic's friends being sucked into separate portals just like with Spike and Angel, and they could barely do anything as the light blinded them too much to the point everything around them went to white..

But as Spike and Shadow finally opened they're eyes, they gasped with shock as they found themselves within a strange white space that looked nothing like they've seen before.
"What is this place?" Spike asked with surprise while they looked around to see where they are, and to they're surprise, they saw what looked like Omega near where they were, and he was powering up again after something dragged him here too.

"Omega? How did he get here?" Shadow asked with concern while they looked around the place, and they soon saw what looked like an entrance to the space colony they were just in, only it looked more like it was a portal to the place since it looked shrunken down, almost like a small landscape. They saw it was completely white for a few moments before some of the color and life to it was restored, like what they went through just now restored it somehow.

"That monster, it must've done this." Shadow said while Spike felt worried for what else was taken here.

"Do you think my mother ended up in here somewhere too? If this is the place where what's left of everything ends up after that monster attacks it, she may be here somewhere." Spike asked hopefully while they looked back at the way to the ark.

"It's possible, but I think the only way to find her is to restore what that monster's taken, and it may lead us to Black Doom too." Shadow suggested as they saw a strange red and black gear protected by a shield that floated right above them, and it looked like they'll only get it once they restore the ark to full.

"If that's what it takes, then we need to do what we can to restore this void to life." Spike said as they looked up in the sky, and they saw a strange looking creature that was looking over everything, and the strange gear Shadow got suddenly started floating away from them, and it went flying towards the creature before it was absorbed which gave it more power, and they saw one of it's creepy eyes open up, like it was being brought to life. And it made Shadow more upset seeing the thing grow.

"Come on, we need to keep moving." Shadow insisted as they were heading to the portal that lead them to the ark again, and Spike only sighed a bit since it looked like the only way.

"Alright, let's go." Spike said as they started running through the portal as the strange symbol looked over the sky, whatever was going on right now, Spike hoped they would be able to put a stop to this for good.

I hope I blended Spike into the first level well here with what I was able to do, I'll have the next chapter go more into the Doom Powers that will be needed to keep moving through the void, and I'll see what I can do for Spike and Angel's separate story's as we keep moving forward.
