It came as something of a surprise when he was told about the month-long retreat that the firm was sending him on, but a very welcome one.
The president’s assistant, Swift Script, had told him that he was being sent in preparation for the upcoming promotion pick for VP. As far as she knew or Cornice suspected, that meant he had the promotion locked in.
Cornice Eave was a career architect, on what he liked to think was a meteoric rise among the Crystal Spire Designs architecture firm. He didn’t even notice at first when the ferry pulled into the resort. It was a resplendent place.
