Swapping stories
After that whole ordeal, everyone soon reached for the entrance. However, Leon stopped them, gaining their attention.
“We’re almost out of here,” said Leon before looking back at the others, “Although you kids are okay, I’m not sure how they’ll react to seeing you.”
They knew they were talking about the turtles, with Donnie looking at his holographic disguise band. Donnie inspecting his and the others.
“They look intact.” Said Donnie, but then he noticed Mikey’s and used his mini-tool to tinker with it. “Alright, that should do it.”
“What are you…?” asked Claire before the turtles turned on their disguises, which surprised the rest of the humans when they saw them. “Okay, never mind.”
“That’s amazing,” said one of the BSAA soldiers, “Who made this?”
“I made a different portable device to disguise ourselves,” said Donnie, “But thanks to a friend, we can disguise ourselves with these bands.”
“Well at least that solves one of our problems.” Said Helena.
“We’d better get going.” Said Chris as everyone got out.
The entire group soon got out, whilst the Turtles, Rainbooms, and the rest of their friends could see many of the law enforcements going back and forth, even trying to contain the situation. They looked back and saw the military moving in to secure the entire airport.
“Man, I feel sorry for the folks who gotta land elsewhere just to get to New York.” Said Mikey.
“Yeah, no kidding.” Said Rainbow.
“Given the damages and amounts of zombies inside, it’s going to be at least six months before everything is restored.” Said Sugarcoat.
“A lot longer from the looks of it.” Said Jill before going over.
Applejack looked at Jill for a bit. She flexed her brow at her, for she somehow looked familiar, but can’t remember from where.
“There you are.”
They turned around and saw Bartholomew walking over to them with his cane as his mercenary group escorted him.
“Thank goodness all of you are alright,” said Bartholomew, “When all of you went off to fight those things, I feared the worst.”
“Don’t worry sir, we’re alright.” Said Fluttershy.
“Sorry we had you worried.” Said April.
He turned to Chris and placed his hand on his shoulder.
“And thank you, for saving them.” Said Bartholomew.
“It was a team effort.” Said Chris.
“Though from the looks of it, they looked they didn’t need saving.” Said Angela.
“Trust me ma’am, we’ve handled worse.” Said Karai.
They noticed the mess they were in.
“Oh, and you look dreadful.” Said Bartholomew, “You must be through a lot.”
“Well, we are pretty beat.” Said Indigo Zap.
“And pretty hungry.” Said Lemon Zest.
“I’ll arrange everything.” Said Bartholomew, “And we’ll need to go somewhere secure. No doubt whoever was behind it would listen over.”
“Agreed,” said Leon, “You have something in mind?”
“I have just the place.” Said Bartholomew before turning to the secretary, “Mr. Elias?”
“Already arranged sir,” said Secretary Elias, “The military were also kind enough to lend us their vehicles.”
“Good,” said Chris, “The BSAA can make good use of them.”
“Though the Turtles will have to take the heavy transport,” said Bartholomew, “After all, given what’s happened, I think it’ll be best you’re in a vehicle where no one can see your faces.”
“Smart choice.” Said Leo, “Alright then, we’ll accept your offer.”
“Alright, mount up.” Said the Mercenary Captain as all of them boarded the transports.
“Wait, what about our rides?” asked Mikey.
“I’ll have some of the EPF drive them.” Said Commander Walker.
*********************************************************************************************
Down the streets of New York, as everyone was walking by, they all saw the heavily armored transports driving down the streets. Five Humvees up front, three APC’s at the center, and five more at the back. The Turtles and their human friends were riding in the middle. Bartholomew rode at the front, and Leon, Chris and the others rode at the back. Behind them were five more Humvees. The Humvees were not only driven by the Mercenary groups, but also the BSAA, the EPF, and the ERS. Whilst at the same time, some of the EPF were driving the Turtles and Rainbooms’ vehicles.
They soon made their way to a large building. The entire area was surrounded by the Delta Force military.
“Whoa, dudes, check it out.” Said Casey as he pointed ahead.
They looked and were surprised to see the Delta Force Military surrounding the building.
“Whoa, what’s with that tight of a security?” asked Twilight.
“Sorry about that,” said the Mercenary driving the vehicle, “Ever since the death threats, the President personally arranged a Delta Force detachment to be stationed around here. They did try to arrange with a commanding officer, but with what happened to the last leadership, they didn’t want to take any chances.”
“You know about General Griffin?” asked Mikey.
“Pff, you kidding, everyone has.” Said the other, “He was known to be a loose cannon, even when he was a Commander. Then he decided to start an organization to hunt and kill aliens.”
“Including Sunset.” Whispered Commander Walker to them.
“Wait, what?” whispered a confused Sunset, “I’m not an alien.”
“But you are from a different dimension and a pony turned human. So…” said Keno whilst trailing off.
Everyone were a little surprised, with Fugitoid saying, “Surprisingly, he does have a point, Sunset.”
“And don’t get me started on what he did that took things way too far.” Said the first Mercenary.
“What’s that?” asked Leo.
“Well for one,” said the second before turning around to face them, “He was one of the special committee members that decided to bomb Raccoon city.”
This shocked everyone onboard before looking at one another.
Soon security allowed the convoy through, allowing them to drive underground to the parking areas. Once the last vehicle was through, the doors closed, allowing them to further secure the area.
They soon parked underground, allowing everyone to exit their vehicles and headed for the elevators.
“How many elevators does this building have?” asked Chris.
“Given the size, I’d say about…24 floors.”
“We’ll take the top floor,” said Bartholomew, “Once we’re done up there, we’ll head for the twenty third.”
“Alright,” said Chris before looking at his BSAA soldiers, “All of you secure the 22nd floor, making sure nothing gets up there.”
“You got it.” Said the BSAA as they entered the elevators first.
“All of you, take the 21st floor.” Said Angela Miller.
“Same goes for the EPF to the 20th floor.” Said Commander Walker.
The two groups did just that. Once they were up, the three elevators came down. Though they chose to take the elevators separately.
Helena and Angela took the first elevator with the Shadowbolts, whilst Commander Walker took the elevator with the Dazzlings and New York allies, and Fugitoid.
The rest followed Bartholomew Martin. They timed it, allowing them to press the top floor’s button at the same time. Once the doors closed, all of them rode all the way. They could see many people at work, even the labs, which left them surprised. But just as they were between the 22nd floor and the 21st floor, they suddenly stopped.
“Hey, what gives?” asked Indigo from her spot.
“Apologies,” said Bartholomew, “Security’s been upgraded. I still have the passcode.”
The elevator’s security pad arrived near Bartholomew, allowing him to type onto it. Once it accepted his password, the elevators continued to move upwards. Once they stopped at the 24th floor, the elevators opened, allowing them to exit. To their surprise, it looked like a penthouse.
“Whoa, this place is rad.” Said Casey.
“It serves as my temporary home as well,” said Bartholomew, “Beats working at an office every day.”
The cleaners then came in, much to everyone’s confusion.
“The penthouse has separate bathrooms for you to freshen up. The cleaners will also wash your clothes.” Said Bartholomew, “After all, with the day all of you had, I’m sure all of you…”
“I call dibs!!” shouted Rarity before darting off to the bathroom, much to everyone’s surprise.
“She uh…really wants to get washed up.” Said Sunset.
“Ugh, good thing we have five bathrooms.” Muttered Bartholomew. He looked at Leon and the others. “You’re more than welcome too if you want.”
“I’m good, thanks.” Said Jill before walking over to a couch. “But you can get us something to eat.”
“Maybe lots of pizza.” Salivated Mikey, before getting smacked behind the head by Raph, causing the goofy Turtle to rub the back of his head.
This confused some as they looked at Leo.
“This happens a lot.” Said Leo.
“Yeah, just go with it.” Said Donnie.
***********************************************************************************************
At one of the bathrooms, Bartholomew walked over and looked at the log date. He would see Rainbow, Applejack, Indigo Zap, and Sour Sweet’s names on it. He used his cane to gently knock on the door.
“Er, who is it?” asked Sour Sweet, but nervously.
“It’s me,” said Bartholomew, “Do you girls need anything else? If so, I’ll arrange my cleaners staff to help out.”
“We’re fine partner, but thanks for asking.” Said Applejack.
Bartholomew used his cane to move a bit.
“What are you doing?”
He noticed Clair standing there, though she was a little suspicious.
“Oh, apologies.” Said Bartholomew, “I did not mean to look…vulgar or anything. I was just worried of their concern is all.”
Bartholomew looked down in remorse.
“No child should ever face or encounter those types of nightmares.” He said with regret, “They should live their lives to the fullest and not…this. The nightmare that you and a few others faced…no child should go through that.”
He sighed and held onto his head, “I wish I had done more to stop them.”
Claire could see genuine concern on his face. She walked over and said, “You really care about their safety.”
“More than you can imagine.” Said Bartholomew.
He felt a hand to his shoulder, prompting him to look at Claire, who had a look of sympathy.
“I talked to the mercenaries.” Said Claire. “When you were escorted, the girl tripped and fell near a spot where they were. Yet despite your own condition, you went out of your way to save her. She’s alive and reunited with her family, thanks to you.”
“And yet what we do is not enough.” Said Bartholomew.
“Maybe,” said Claire, “But that shouldn’t stop us from saving lives.”
“Heh,” said Bartholomew before looking at Claire, “I suppose not.”
Bartholomew moved, but grunted and nearly fell over, with Claire catching him. Chris saw this and went over to help.
“Easy there.” Said Claire.
“You already did you duty soldier,” said Chris, “Let us do our part.”
As they escorted him, he chuckled.
“You know, it’s funny.” Said Bartholomew, “The both of you lead different careers, and I’m surprised that neither of you are in the same military and unit.”
“What makes you say that?” asked Claire.
“You’re both pretty badass.” Said Bartholomew.
“Runs in the family.” Joked Chris, which caused Claire to laugh at that.
***********************************************************************************************
An hour later, everyone got out of the rooms all cleaned and stretched a bit. As the girls entered, Sunset walked near Jill.
“Oh, sorry.” Said Sunset as she bumped into her. Suddenly, Sunset read her mind by accident. After going through that, she gasped as she looked at Jill as she walked in another direction. But Sunset had that shockened look on her face. She slowly went back to her seat and sat next to Applejack.
This gained the farmgirl’s attention when she noticed that look again.
“Sunset?” asked Applejack in concern, “What’s wrong.”
“I’ll tell you later.” Whispered Applejack.
“Thank you for letting us use your washroom.” Said Twilight.
“I’ll say,” said Sonata, “It was really enjoyable. Never felt this great before.”
“You’re welcome.” Said Bartholomew as he sat down near his desk. “Again, I’m sorry all of you had to go through with that.”
“It’s alright, sir.” Said Fluttershy.
“Yeah, we’re pretty much used to it.” Said Rainbow Dash.
“I see.” Said Bartholomew, feeling uneasy.
“Now then, back on topic.” Said Leon, looking at Sunset, “How did you know about mine and Claire’s encounter at Raccoon city?”
Sunset, realizing that they haven’t forgotten, sighed, and told the truth.
“It’s because of this,” said Sunset as she showed her geode, “It has magical properties that allows me to read minds.”
They looked a bit skeptical at one another, minus Commander Walker.
“You honestly expect us to believe that?” asked Jill.
“Well, she’s not wrong.” Said Spike.
This startled everyone.
“What the heck?!” said Jill as she pulled a gun out and pointed at Spike.
This caused everyone to panic as Chris and Leon held Jill back, whilst Spike raised his paws in the air.
“Wow,” said a surprised Spike, “Getting a gun pointed at me for talking, that’s a first.”
“I think an explanation is in order.” Said Bartholomew, playing peacekeeper.
The Turtles and Rainbooms told them their stories. After a long conversation, it was hard to wrap it around their heads.
“So let me get this straight,” said Chris, “You four were once regular turtles, and your father’s name was Splinter, aka, Hamato Yoshi, and was a human.”
“But coming into contact with this…mutagen as you say,” said Jill, “Turned you into what you are now whilst turning him into a rat.”
“And you’ve been fighting against mutants, aliens, ninjas, and other things in New York and in other cities?” said Leon.
“More or less.” Said Raph.
The rest of the humans in the room looked at one another, with Leon whispering to Chris.
“How did the previous Presidents not know about any of this?” asked Leon.
“I’m not sure.” Said Chris, “One thing’s for certain, something is definitely going on.”
“Though this Shredder,” said Angela miller, “He sounds like both a criminal and a terrorist.”
“No doubt he came here illegally under the USA’s radar.” Said Helena Harper.
“Still,” said Chris, “My condolences on the loss of your father. Losing a parent is never easy. Especially since finding out that your own child was taken from you during your infancy.”
“No argument there.” Said Karai whilst Shinigami held onto her shoulder.
“And some of you girls,” said Claire, looking at Sunset and the Dazzlings, “One of your friends here is actually a unicorn and sirens from another world called Equestria, populated by ponies and other creatures considering to be a myth.”
“That’s right.” Said Sunset.
“And those geodes and medallions you lot wear, grants you powers?” asked Angela.
“Sure does.” Said Applejack.
“If I didn’t see how you guys fight, I might not believe it.” Said Helena.
“So, magic does exist in this world?” asked Claire.
“Well, it depends where you look,” said Twilight, “Mostly Equestrian Magic can be found in our home city.”
“And where might that be?” asked Jill.
“Canterlot City.” Said Sunset.
Jill looked slightly startled at that. But when she got a good look at Applejack, she immediately recognized her, from the pictures. She just looked away, not wanting to cause a scene.
“So, what about all of you?” asked Raph, “What’s your story?”
“I don’t even know where to start.” Said Claire. “You see…”
When all of a sudden, Pinkie suddenly interrupted, speaking fast paced.
“You all encountered the zombie threat when Claire went to Raccoon city to find her brother, Chris Redfield, who also happens to be a member of STARS, a branch from the Raccoon City Police Department. But along the way, you stumbled upon some zombies in a store and encountered Leon, then two of you traveled to Raccoon city, which happens to be overwhelmed by zombies. When you found out about Umbrella corporation, you traveled inside and met a mutated zombified William Birkin, the creator of the G-Virus. But after Umbrella’s Alpha team shot him, he took the G-Virus, much to his wife’s dismay. Then during the struggle, the viruses ended up in the watering system, causing half of Raccoon city to get zombified. Then during the confusion, you and Leon saved a little girl named Sherry Birkin and escaped Raccoon city before it got destroyed in a nuclear blast. Then you found your brother, and then worked with Angela Miller, who didn’t have a choice since her brother Curtis was involved with the virus ordeal, then Jill who encountered a madman who mind controlled her until Chris freed her, and along the all of you encountered one virus threat after another. And now something much more dangerous is happening before something really, really, bad happens!!” She finished with a squee.
When all was said and done;
Claire’s jaw dropped, Chris dropped his gun, Jill dropped her soda, Angela and Helena did a spit-take, Leon was flabbergasted, Bartholomew was surprised, whilst Commander Walker chuckled and shook his head.
“Wha…what the…” said Claire, before exclaiming, “How did you know that?!”
“Just a hunch.” Said Pinkie.
“A hunch?!” exclaimed Jill before she grabbed Pinkie’s shoulder and shook her, “You mean you guessed our entire life, on a hunch?!”
“Yup.” Said Pinkie Pie with her clueless bubbly personality.
Commander Walker laughed and held a shockened Chris’ shoulder, gaining his attention.
“Sorry about that, that’s just Pinkie being Pinkie.” Said Walker, “She can be random at times, and trust me, it’s for the best you don’t dig in too much of it.”
“Trust us, you don’t.” said the ninjas at the same time.
“Uh…okay then, moving on.” Said Bartholomew.
“Yes, your er…pink friend is right.” Said Helena.
“We’ve been fighting Bio-terrorism ever since the fall of Raccoon city.” Said Leon.
“But how are Umbrella still around?” asked Twilight, “I thought Umbrella Corporation fell and went bankrupt.”
“They did,” said Leon, “But their viral legacies continue to spread. A handful of Umbrella employees and soldiers found a way to steal the viruses and sold them on the black market.”
“They’d really sell them on the black market?!” said Fluttershy in shock.
“Come to think of it,” said Fugitoid, “From what I’ve read years ago, General Grande unleashed a viral attack on its citizens long ago. From what we’ve heard, everyone thought WillPharma was responsible.”
“Not exactly.” Said Leon, “It was an attack by terrorists that got hold of the T-Virus. All the terrorists supported by General Grande were infected, so we didn’t know any of the details. US government gained permission from the Indian authorities to administer the vaccine for the T-Virus.”
“Which was made by WillPharma.” Said April.
“That’s right.” Said Angela as she spoke whilst downtrodden. “When the outbreak happened at the airport that the Senator was trapped in, we didn’t have the vaccine. It’s also how I lost my partner.”
“Sorry to hear that.” Said Lemon Zest.
“So why didn’t all of you?” asked Sunny Flare.
“It was our fault.” Said Claire, gaining everyone’s attention.
“Claire?” asked Sunset.
“We found out that we could’ve gotten the vaccines if Terra/Save didn’t back them into a corner.” Said Claire. “We thought WillPharma was doing illegal human experiments, but it turns out the United States covered it up. But it was also our fault. If WillPharma had followed proper procedure, the entire government medical stockpile could’ve been shipped anywhere in the US within twelve hours.”
“Claire, you didn’t know.” Said Chris. “Honestly, I don’t know why they covered it up, but Frederic knew something like this would happen.”
“Still…” said Claire, holding her shoulder.
“Chris is right Claire,” said Leon, “We’ve been through worse, and we always stuck together. Now we’ve got a new problem. The outbreak that happened in New York, and it won’t be the last.”
“He’s right.” Said Bartholomew as he got up and walked. “We need to recover those bodies and see if we can get a blood sample. That way we’ll be able to find out how this happened.”
“We have a way.”
They turned to Donnie, whom was holding a medical bag. When he opened it, he showed tons of syringes, with blood samples inside.
“I wanted to take them back to my lab and study them.” Said Donnie, “I couldn’t help but be curious.”
Bartholomew and the others looked at them and smirked. For now, they have their heading.
**************************************************************************************************
From down in the labs, Bartholomew immediately went to work looking at the blood samples, with half the scientists in his disposal. Though they were a little freaked out because of the Turtles, he reassured them that they saved his life, so he’s indebted to them, and he promised to keep their secret, which calmed the scientists as well.
Donnie, Twilight, and Sugarcoat were also hard at work, watching through everything they can.
The others watched as all of them were at work. Mikey could see Bartholomew hard at work with his own devices.
“Whoa,” muttered Mikey, “I can see why this guy’s famous. He’s like a freakin machine when it comes to medicine.”
“It’s no wonder he’s always been under death threats.” Said Angela Miller.
Within moments, Bartholomew, Donnie, Twilight, and Sugarcoat walked out of the rooms once they were done washing their hands and disinfecting themselves.
“So, what are we looking at?” asked Leo.
“You might wanna see for yourselves.” Said Bartholomew, allowing them to follow.
They went to a few large screens, each of them showing footage of certain viruses.
“As you can see,” said Bartholomew, showing them different virus strands, “Each of these strands are some of the Viruses that most of you recognize.”
“I recognize that,” said Claire pointing at one of the screens, “That’s the G-Virus.”
“And how bad are they?” asked Raph.
“It’s stronger than the T-Virus,” said Leon, “Only problem is that its highly unstable, mutating your body beyond recognition.”
“Leon and I witnessed it first-hand.” Said Claire.
“Who created it?” asked Sunset.
“Doctor Willaim Berkin.” Said Leon as a photo of him came up, “He used to be one of Umbrella’s top scientists. But somehow he injected it himself with the virus, mutating him out of control.”
“And the one next to it, as Leon mentioned,” said Bartholomew, before pointing at the next screen, “That’s the T-Virus. And the one over there, is the C-Virus.”
“I witnessed it first-hand.” Said Chris, “There was an outbreak of it in China years ago. With…my last partner.”
“Your last partner?” asked Shinigami.
“His name was Piers.” Said Jill, “He was with Chris since its outbreak. But he sacrificed himself to make sure he could escape.”
“Sorry to hear that, yo.” Said Casey.
“He must’ve been a good man.” Said Keno.
“You have no idea.” Muttered Chris.
“Although, I don’t recognize this strand.” Said Jill as she looked at one of the strands.
Donnie took a closer look to that. When he got a good look at it, he widened his eyes in shock.
“It can’t be.” Muttered Donnie.
“Donnie?” asked April.
“Donnie, what’s wrong?” asked Sunny Flare.
“I know that strand,” said Donnie, “That’s mutagen!!”
“What?!” exclaimed the ninjas in the room, whilst the zombie fighting crew were confused.
“What now?” said Angela Miller in confusion.
“I know it.” said Commander Walker, gaining their attention as he took out his phone and posted a picture, showing a vial of Mutagen.
“What you see right there is called Mutagen.” Said Commander Walker, “It’s a very dangerous chemical, if you come into contact with it, it will mutate you on a molecular level. It works both ways. It mutates you like this…”
He showed them pictures of Mutagen Man, much to the zombie fighting crew’s horror.
“As well as the last thing you’ve come into contact with.”
He showed them both the human and mutant pictures of Bebop, Rocksteady, Rahzar, Fishface, and Stockman.
“So, you’re saying,” said Helena in great worry, “That somewhere out there, are more of this?”
“The EPF were able to find and store it in TCRI,” said Commander Walker, “However, thanks to the Turtles and Rainbooms, we were able to confirm that there were more storage areas where more of them were stored all over the world.”
“That would explain this.” Said Bartholomew as he showed them a photo of men digging something up and pulling out glowing canisters, which shocked the group. “My sources told me that a secret terrorist group were able to find a handful of storage areas and were able to recover and mix them with the different virus strand. Dubbing it the M-Virus.”
“Just like what we saw at the airport.” Said Rarity.
“So, you’re saying that if any of them got infected with the viruses and mutagen, we’d end up turning into different zombie versions?” said Rainbow.
“From the looks of it, yeah.” Said Bartholomew.
“We’ll need to call Rebecca.” Said Leon to Chris.
“Agreed, she might have answers.” Said Chris.
“Who’s Rebecca?” asked Raph.
“She’s a friend of ours.” Said Jill, “She was also in the same unit as me and Chris, codename STARS.”
“If anyone has answers, it’ll be her.” Said Chris.
“One more thing,” said Bartholomew, “I also have a contact somewhere in Rio somewhere. He said he’s found some information that could help. And he was also with a team down there before they dropped off the grid.”
“Anything else?” asked Leon.
“There is,” said Bartholomew, “The President of the United States is visiting England to further discuss new trade regulations, something that could be of great help. And from what my contacts dug up; they’re planning to attack him like they did at the airport.”
This caused everyone to be concerned and looked at one another.
“I’ll go to England.” Said Leon, “The last president died on my watch,” said Leon, “I’m not letting that happen again.”
“I’ll go too.” Said Helena in agreement.
“I’ll go to Rebecca,” said Chris, “She might have some answers for us.”
“I’ll go too.” Said Jill.
“Can’t.” said Bartholomew, “I need you to go to South America, to find that contact.”
“What?” said Jill, feeling a bit miffed, “Why?”
“Because the contact’s an old friend of yours,” said Bartholomew, “I believe his name was…Carlos Oliveira, I think.”
This surprised Jill, for she hadn’t heard that name in a long time.
“Who the heck is Carlos?” asked Raph.
“I know him,” said Jill, gaining their attention, “During the Raccoon City outbreak, I met him when he was busy evacuating survivors. He used to work for the UBCS, otherwise known as the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service.”
“Wait, he was the bad guy?” asked Adagio.
“He’s not.” Reassured Jill, “He helped me try to find a cure for the virus, and one of their own, named Nikolai, betrayed us, and was planning to take the cure to a rival of Umbrella, to make them look like the heroes. We both were able to escape after that.”
“When did you last hear from him?” asked Lemon Zest.
“Last time I heard from him, he changed his identity and fled to South America.” Said Jill. “He hates Umbrella more than anyone. If anyone knows what they’re after, it’ll be him.”
“I’ll go with her,” said Claire, “I know some Terra-Save workers there. If anyone’s seen Carlos, it’ll be them.”
“Walker, we’ll need you here.” Said Leo, “If anyone is going to go after Mr. Martin, we’ll need you here.”
“You got it, Leo.” Said Walker, “I’ll even contact the Utrom just in case.”
“The what?” said Claire.
“Long story.” Said the teens.
“What about us?” asked Casey.
“You lot are staying here.” Said Chris.
“What?!” said Raph, “Forget it, pal!!”
“There’s no way you’re going to bench us!!” said Rainbow Dash.
Just before the adults could protest.
“Excuse me?” said Walker, calling out to the adults.
“Yeah?” said Leon.
“I’d let them tag along if I were you,” said Walker, “Waiting for a zombie apocalypse happening to an entire planet is really not an option for them.”
Reluctantly, Chris gave in.
“Fine,” said Chris, “But you all stick with us and do exactly what we say.”
“Deal.” Said the Teens.
“Wait,” said Bartholomew, gaining their attention. “If you split up, then I wish for Donatello, miss Twilight, and Sugarcoat remain behind. If this is dangerous as they said it is, then I’m going to need some help creating anti-viruses and vaccines for just in case.”
“Sure, we can spare them.” Said Leo before turning to them, “You guys up for it?”
“We are.” Said Twilight whilst Spike chose to stay by her side.
“I shall remain as well,” said Fugitoid, “This virus strand you explain sounds very dangerous. I shall do what I can to assist.”
“Very well,” said Leon, “So who goes with whom?”
“I’ll go with you.” Said Leo, before turning to the others. “Sunset. You, Pinkie, April, Shinigami, Adagio and Sour Sweet will be going with me.”
“Getting the chance to go to England.” Said Sour Sweet, “I get to scratch that off of my bucket list.”
“Raphael,” said Leo, “You, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Casey, Keno, Aria, and Lemon Zest will go with Chris and Angela.”
“You got it, Leo.” Said Casey.
“The rest will go with Jill and Claire.” Said Leo.
“Will do.” Said Karai.
“Alright everyone, you have your assignments. Good luck.” Said Leo.
Everyone followed their groups, hoping to get some answers and helping whomever they can.
However, unknown to them, from far away, someone was watching them via binoculars and was listening in using the radio from the binoculars.
He stood up and walked around, hiding behind one of the rooftop structures. He took out a phone and called someone. The phone rang for a moment, until someone answered.
“It’s me.” Said the person. “Bartholomew Martin reached the building, but security’s too hot. BSAA, DSO, a woman from the New York SRT, and one from Terra-Save to split to different locations.”
“Keep track of them,” said the voice from behind, “Do whatever you can to dispose of them.”
“One last report sir,” said the person, “They’re being aided by unknown individuals.”
Things were silent for a moment.
“What kind of individuals?” asked the person.
***********************************************************************************************
Jill walked down the hall to get the rest of her gear. Just as she was about to enter.
“Excuse me, Jill Valentine?”
Jill stopped, hoping the voice who she thought it is. She turned and saw Applejack staring at her.
“What is it?” asked Jill.
“Look, ah don’t know if you know me, but…” said Applejack before she was cut off.
“You’re Bright Macintosh and Buttercup’s daughter, aren’t you?” asked Jill.
This surprised Applejack.
“Y’all know them?” asked Applejack.
“I do,” said Jill, “Your father’s hat was a dead giveaway. And you look like your mother.”
Applejack took a breath and said, “And…y’all are related to any of the Apples?”
Jill sighed, knowing where this was going.
“I was,” said Jill, “But I haven’t talked to my parents since I left to join law enforcement.”
“Granny told me about that,” said Applejack, “She mentioned of a cousin who took her mother’s last name, and disregarded her apple name from her pa, Apple Split. But why didn’t y’all stay?”
“Because I wanted to help people,” said Jill, “Last time people came in and nearly killed my mother. I couldn’t just sit and do nothing. Dad didn’t like the idea, even threated to cut me off from the family. Your parents said that what I chose was my choice.”
“Did Granny talk to ya?” asked Applejack.
“She did.” Said Jill, “She respected my choice. Wish the rest of my family did.”
“Look, ah know y’all were mighty miffed the way things ended with them, but y’all didn’t have to push them away.”
“You mean like how you pushed one of your friends away because of some webpage?” said Jill. This surprised Applejack. “I caught up on the times.”
“Did you even try to save any of our family at Raccoon city?” asked Applejack.
Jill paused at that. Then glared at Applejack.
“You think I let that happen?” said Jill. “You have no idea what I lost over there. Everyone I cared about. Gone, just like that. I did the best I could, so did the rest of us. I told my parents to leave the city, but they were already infected by the time I got there.”
This shocked Applejack as she looked down.
“Y’all aren’t the only ones who lost parents.” Said Applejack.
This surprised Jill, knowing what that meant. She closed her eyes, mourning her way of what happened to Bright Mac and Buttercup.
“Look, Granny and ah are doin the best we can,” said Applejack, “But Apple Bloom needed a ma and we try our best. But she didn’t understand that we spent time with Sunset because she didn’t have a family to go back to.”
“But back to the topic at hand. When we called the folks y’all were servin with, and heard you were dead, everyone in our family were devastated. But then one way we got a call, hearin that you were alive, Granny was overjoyed. She wanted to visit, but y’all just kept turning her down. She really wanted to see you. But from what ah heard, y’all just turned yer backs on us, because we loved ya.”
Jill was silent for a bit as she looked away.
“And as a certain friend of ours’ cousin said, y’all don’t turn yer back on family, even when they do.” Said Applejack.
Jill was silent for a bit, until she spoke.
“Innocent people are being poisoned and used as weapons.” Said Jill, “And whoever is doing that out there, has no soul. And if people like me has to stop them, we can’t afford to be numb, or think about souls, or family, or friends or any of that stuff. At least I can’t.”
Applejack was surprised of how cold she was.
“But that don’t mean you have to push us away.” Said Applejack, “Family is family.”
Jill stared at her for a bit. Then she turned around and walked a few steps ahead. Then turned around and walked a bit backwards.
“Not everybody can be close to their family like you can, Applejack.” Replied Jill.
Applejack watched in sadness as Jill walked away. She then felt a hand on her shoulder, revealing to be Chris.
“I’m sorry.” Said Chris, “When we were partnered up, I did the best I could. It fell under deaf ears.”
The two of them watched as Jill left. Chris felt bad for his partner, but Applejack…she wants to help. But the question is…how?
