A Dragon's High School Years
Epilogue
Previous ChapterEpilogue
At Summer Valley High School, the football field was set up for graduation. The Class of 2027 were all sitting in seats in front of a stage while the families of the graduates were sitting in the bleachers. And not just families of the graduates. Aaron and Smolder had the Mane 6, Spike, Starlight, Sunburst, Garble and the rest of the Young 6, and they were all there with Marissa, Liam, Tony and Jessica to watch.
"Welcome, Class of 2027," Principal Sanders said into the microphone. "We are all gathered here for your graduation day. You all have come a long way to reach this day. Especially our two valedictorians, Aaron Blazer and Smolder."
Up front with the students, Aaron and Smolder were in Dragon form, wearing orange graduation caps and gowns with red sashes. The rest of the graduates were wearing red graduation caps and gowns with orange sashes. Only the valedictorians were allowed to wear orange caps and gowns with red sashes.
"And now, our two valedictorians will both come up to the stage to make their final statements here at Summer Valley High," Principal Sanders said. Then Aaron and Smolder stood up and headed for the stage. Aaron and Smolder approached the podium on the stage as Principal Sanders stepped away for Aaron and Smolder to give their speech.
Months had passed since Graduation. At the house, Aaron and the Young 6 were loading the newly bought furniture for Aaron and Smolder's apartment in Los Angeles since they were moving there to start college. The furniture was loaded into a U-Haul Trailer that was connected to Aaron's truck.
Marissa stood in front of Aaron and hugged him. Aaron was in human form. Marissa then said, "I can't believe this day has come. Are you sure you and Smolder will be alright?"
"We'll be fine, Aunt Marissa," Aaron said. "You looked after me ever since I was born. Mom would want me to let me follow my dream. You should let me do it, too."
"I know," Marissa said. She then stepped back and said, "Promise me you'll come home for the holidays."
"We will, Aunt Marissa," Aaron said. "I love you."
"I love you, too," Marissa said. "Now, go on and follow your dream."
Aaron then went over to the trailer, which was finished loading with all the furniture for his and Smolder's new apartment. Liam walked over towards Aaron.
"So, what are you going to study?" Liam asked.
"I'm gonna be a Construction Major," Aaron said. "I'm gonna be building a building and I will be operating it. The US Government will be funding the project when I graduate. As for Smolder, she'll be studying fashion and will be working in a Blazing Fashion Store to help pay for the rent and groceries. I'll be working in a Sporting Goods store to also pay for the rent and food."
"Actually, the Government is giving us some Food Stamp cards to pay for groceries," Smolder said. "They'll be sent to our new apartment in Los Angeles."
"That's good," Liam said. "So, you two got yourselves a two bedroom apartment?"
"The only apartment the building had with two bedrooms was one with a loft," Aaron said. "But that's good. That way, we could put the portals to Equestria up there. And, we can also put another sofa bed up there."
"That would explain why there are two sofas in there," Marissa said. "Well, if you need me, just call."
"We will, Marissa," Smolder said. Then Tony and Jessica walked up to Aaron and Smolder. Then they hugged the two toddlers.
"We'll see you two in November," Aaron said. Then Aaron and Smolder headed to their respective vehicles. Aaron, Gallus and Sandbar got into Aaron's truck while Smolder, Ocellus, Silverstream and Yona got into Smolder's SUV. Aaron and the Young 6 were all in human form. Aaron got into the driver's seat in his truck, Gallus got into the passenger seat, and Sandbar got into the passenger side of the back seat. Smolder got into the driver's seat of her SUV, Silverstream sat in the passenger seat, Ocellus got into the Driver's side back seat, and Yona got into the Passenger's side back seat.
Then they started up their vehicles after getting their seats belts on. Smolder then sighed.
"This is a big change," Ocellus said. "You scared?"
"A little," Smolder said. She then sighed. "But, at least we're not doing it alone."
Then Aaron and Smolder started driving away to Los Angeles. It would take 'em days just to arrive at their apartment complex. As they were driving, their valedictorian speech was being said in the background.
"Life is full of surprises. When we first arrived here, a lot of changes were made. No friends in Orlando, and a lot of challenges had come towards us. But there were also good things."
"We might not be related. We might not even look the same. Heck, we might not even be the same species. But we are all still friends. No matter how far we all go."
"And with what life throws at us, we all manage to surpass it. We may be going separate ways, but it doesn't mean we won't see each other again. Whether we're going overseas..."
"Across the country..."
"Or even off planet..."
"We'll still be friends. No matter how far life takes us. We would all continue to follow our dreams. Whether it's running a ranch in Wyoming..."
"Planning to be a part of the Sacramento Kings..."
"Maintaining the good life on a cruise ship..."
"Or even plan to power through the other team as a Green Bay Packer..."
"We're dragons..."
"And we always will be."
Aaron and Smolder drove their respective vehicles West towards Los Angeles. They had pictures of their friends from Equestria and Summer Valley High in their vehicles. This was going to be the biggest adventure of their lives. Being far from their families was something the Young 6 had experiences for a while when they started the School of Friendship. But Aaron's a different story. But he won't be alone. So, he'll have nothing to worry about.
